So obviously, yet again, I have started a new story! LOL, but who's complaining right? I was watching the first season of true blood and decided to reenact the whole series from season 1, with a few changes. I'm also making this a crossover with Vampire diaries (Another favorite show of mine), but that part of my story will come MUCH later. The first change I made is there's no Bill Compton; he doesn't exist and never fell in love with Sookie. The second change, is Sookie Stackhouse, this time she won't be a naïve, somewhat close-minded human and be more eager to learn about her abilities.

Chapter 1

In the quaint town of Bon Temps, at the local restaurant, Merlotte's, hummed the murmurs of patrons, the clinking of dishes, and the aroma of fried foods, and beer. Among the bustling crowd was Sookie Stackhouse, a young waitress with an extraordinary ability of telepathy. Except for this little town, this was a secret she kept hidden from the rest of the world. It was a painful reality for her, and one that kept her alone every single night.

Even if the town knew what she could do, they still pretended she couldn't hear thoughts. She was either retarded or crazy to them. Anyone she supposedly called her friends could barely stand to be around her and often wished (forgetting she could hear them) that she was human. Sookie didn't really try that hard to interact or hand around anyone. Not that she could stand to hear their thoughts.

Did they even know how she felt about what she was? Do they even care? Maybe not. If they did, they'd be more understanding, perhaps sympathetic. But no, they're more worried about Sookie hearing their deepest and darkest thoughts. As if she had a choice in the matter.

Whatever.

Sookie sighs in frustration, rolling her eyes.

And they wonder why I stopped dating or trying to make friends.

Sookie just surmised that she was going to live alone till the day she died. Fate would have it otherwise though. As the clock neared midnight this evening, a mysterious woman entered the bar. Her presence was striking, and an air of elegance surrounded her. Her porcelain skin seemed to glow in the soft light, and her eyes, deep pools of green aventurine, held an enigmatic allure. Sookie's telepathic senses tingled, drawn to this intriguing stranger.

She was a vampire!

Sookie couldn't believe it. Merlotte's has its first vampire! She was excited that finally, something different has come into this town. She was beginning to die of boredom. She took a good look at this lady, and she was gorgeous! The mysterious lady wore a leather jacket with a dark blue corset, a sweet heart-shaped bustier, tight black jeans that hugged her curves, and suede ankle-length, high-heeled boots. Sookie looked around at the crowd, and everyone seems to notice nothing but her. And lucky for her, this mysterious stranger sat right in her section.

Making her way through the tables, the strange woman settled into a secluded corner booth. Sookie couldn't resist the pull she felt, and curiosity propelled her forward. She approached the booth, a smile on her lips.

"Good evening, ma'am. May I take your order?" Sookie greeted the woman politely, her mind reaching out tentatively. To her surprise, the woman looked up, her eyes locking onto Sookie's with a knowing twinkle.

"I'm Jade," she introduced herself, her voice velvety smooth. "And I believe you have a gift, my dear."

Sookie's eyes widened in shock, her heart skipping a beat. No one had ever acknowledged her telepathy so openly. Her mind raced with questions, but she couldn't voice them aloud. Instead, she met Jade's gaze and nodded.

"How can you tell?" She asked with awe and wonder in her voice.

Jade extended a graceful hand, gesturing for the waitress to join her. "I have a gift of my own, you see. As you can tell, I am a vampire, therefore my senses are finely tuned to almost all supernatural. Although, I have a few extra abilities even as a vampire…" She says with a wink. "I sensed your presence the moment I walked in."

Sookie's lowered her shields, trying to get a read on a Jade and find out what those extra abilities might be, but her mind was shut tight. It was like she was blocking her telepathy and she couldn't tell how. It was great! Her mind filled with wonder and excitement. At that moment, she realized she had found someone who could understand her. Someone who could possibly guide her through the labyrinth of her own abilities.

Could Sookie have finally found the break she was looking for? Or could she have found trouble instead?

Tonight just kept getting better and better. Not only was Jade a vampire, but she could tell there was more to her than that. "You're Bon Temps very first vampire! This is so exciting!"

"You could tell what I was when I first walked in?" She asks, amused by her eagerness.

"Wasn't it obvious?"

"To him it is." She says, gesturing to the shifter behind the bar, who gave her a nod in acknowledgment. Sookie dropped her shields again, trying to hear her. All she got was that wall of static again. Another thing she noticed was that it drowned out everyone else's mind. It was blissful.

Jade gave her a grin, knowing what she was trying to do. "I can sense that you know. I can feel you probing at my shields." Could she be another telepath?

Sookie gave a gasp, feeling a flicker of fear. The vampire grabbed her hand, giving it a comforting squeeze.

"Don't fret, doll. I mean you no harm. I just moved to your town and was hoping you could help me find the Compton Estate. I recently acquired it from a vampire that met his final death suddenly." Jade explains with a raised eyebrow. Sookie gives a beaming smile, excited that they're going to be neighbors.

"That's right across the cemetery from my house! I can show you where it is if you're okay with waiting another hour?" Sookie asked.

"Yeah. I can wait. I got nowhere else to go anyway." She chuckles, with a shrug of her shoulders. The waitress gave a nod, getting up from the booth. She turned, starting to walk away, but turns back towards the vampire.

"Gosh, I forgot to ask, but did you want something to drink?" Sookie, says pulling out her notepad.

"A true blood, O negative?" The telepath gave a nod. Before she could walk away though, another voice joins the conversation, making the waitress tense up.

"Don't mind Sookie none, Miss. She's crazier than a bag of cats." Mack Rattray says in a taunting tone. The smile drops from her face, giving him a glare, suddenly feels the urge to whack him with one of the trays.

"I'll be right back with your blood." She couldn't walk away fast enough.
