Din landed the ship. He exited it looking around, he saw in the distance Grogu walking with the Jedi. He walked towards them. As he got closer, Grogu suddenly turned around. He started running for Din. Din bent down and picked him up. Grogu. He said, holding him close. The Jedi approached them.

Hello. He said nodding at Din.

Hello. Din replied.

Glad you could come. The Jedi said. Din nodded. My name's Luke Skywalker by the way. The Jedi said.

Din Djarin. Din replied. Come. Luke said gesturing for them to follow. Grogu struggled to get out of Din's grasp. He set him back on the ground. Luke was a bit ahead now. Suddenly Grogu went flying forward and landed by Luke. Din stared at Grogu. Luke turned around and smiled slightly. He sometimes is rather slow. Luke said fondness in his voice.

Din smiled under his helmet and continued walking. A few minutes later they made it to a building. Luke entered it. Din follow after him. Din looked around the room. It was small, but nice. In it was a sitting area and a kitchen. He saw a door off to the side as well.

Please sit. Luke said gesturing at a chair. Din sat down. Din sat down. Grogu climbed into his lap. Luke sat down in a chair as well. I would offer tea, but I don't think that would work. Luke said smiling.

No, I don't think it would. Din replied. Grogu made a noise reaching his hands towards Luke.

What is it young one? Luke asked. He moved closer to Grogu, he reached out and gently touched his hand. Luke smiled, pulling away from Grogu and stood up. He went to the kitchen and returned with a cup he handed it to Grogu. Grogu made a noise at Luke. Luke chuckled softly.

How has he been? Din asked looking down at Grogu.

He's been doing well, though he misses you greatly. It is not good for his training. Din looked up at Luke.

Can he still be trained? He asked.

Yes, he just needs to work on his attachments. Luke replied. Din nodded. A few minutes passed and Luke stood up. Let me show you your room, it's getting late. Din stood up. Luke walked over to the door and opened it. You can stay here.

Thank you. Din said entering the room. He sat down on the bed. Okay kid, time for you to go back to your place. Din said. Grogu made a noise and held onto Din tightly. Din sighed. Fine he said. He heard a noise and saw the door had been shut. He glanced out the window and saw Luke walking away. Din laid down with Grogu at his side. The next morning came, and Din woke to sounds in the room attached to his. He got up and went into the room.

Morning. He heard Luke say. He was in the kitchen.

Morning. Din replied. Grogu hurried ahead of Din and went into the kitchen. Luke laughed and handed him a bowl.

There you are young one. Luke said patting his head fondly. There's breakfast on the table. Luke said before starting to retreat from the house.

Thank you. Din said sitting down. Luke didn't reply but nodded and left. Din took off his helmet. He saw Grogu staring at him. It's alright. He said. He then gestured for Grogu to sit by him. Grogu did. Din finished his breakfast then went outside to find Luke. He saw him sitting in a field watching the sunrise. Din hadn't realized how early it had been. He slowly approached Luke but paused when he saw silent tears running down his face. Grogu made a distressed noise and tried to break free from Din's arms. No. Din said quietly starting to turn back to the house.

It's alright. Luke's voice suddenly called out. Din turned back around.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. Din said setting Grogu down. Grogu ran to Luke. Luke smiled and pulled him into his lap. Grogu cooed and looked up at him reaching for his face. Luke closed his eyes and put his hand out to Grogu.

I'm alright. He said to Grogu opening his eyes. Would you like to see him train? Luke asked looking up at Din.

Din paused for a moment. Yes. He finally replied. Luke nodded, standing up. Luke flicked his wrist and a device floated into the air. He saw Grogu glare at the ball.

Grogu, Luke said. Focus on the force feel it run threw you. The device suddenly shot hitting Grogu. Din immediately ran for Grogu. No. Luke said holding out his hand. He is fine, it's nothing more then a sting.

But- Din tried to argue but Luke interrupted him.

It's fine Din. Get back up, always get back up. Luke said watching Grogu. Grogu did, the device shot again and Grogu jumped over it. Very good. Luke said. Grogu dodged another one. After a few more rounds Luke turned the device off. You are learning Grogu, you are trusting the force. Luke said. Luke turned to Din. Your son uses the force well. Din looked to Grogu who was chasing a butterfly.

Why did you have me come? Din asked Luke. Luke paused an emotion Din couldn't quit place flashed across his face.

You are his father. Luke said simply.

But I thought the Jedi weren't supposed to see their family after they are taken to be trained. Din said.

Yes. Luke said. But not now. Not now. Din watched Luke worriedly something was off. You wanted to see him with your own eyes. Luke said eyes vacant.

What? Din said confused.

Luke suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Luke! Din yelled running over to him. Grogu ran over making worried noises. It's alright. Din said to Grogu. Grogu patted Luke's arm. Din glanced over Luke. Hey, he said shaking him. Hey! Luke! Wake up! Luke didn't move. Din quickly picked Luke up. Come on Grogu. Din said, running for the house. When he reached it he set him down on a bench.

Father. He heard Luke whisper. His eyes were still closed. Din shook his shoulder. Luke wake up!

Father! Please! Luke suddenly yelled, reaching for something. Father! Luke sobbed still asleep his hand outstretched. The whole house suddenly started shaking.

Din looked around frantically. He then heard Grogu start to make distressed noises. Grogu? Din said, picking him up. Grogu pressed his face into Din's chest whimpering. It's alright. Din comforted him looking around the shaking building. Suddenly a blue figure appeared by Luke's side. Din quickly drew his blaster pointing it at the figure.

Who are you? He asked.

The man held up a hand. Your weapon will not harm me.

Who are you? Din said again, still pointing the blaster at him. Instead of answering the man placed a hand on Luke's forehead.

Don't touch him. Din said walking towards the man. He paused when he saw Luke start to calm down.

The walls stopped shaking and Grogu stopped whimpering. The man pulled away from Luke. Sleep child. He whispered. Now, to answer your question I am Anakin Skywalker, Luke's father.

Din stared at him. How did you get here? Din asked.

The force called me. If Din could have he would have given him a confused look. I am dead, I am one with the force now. Anakin explained.

You're dead?

Yes. Anakin sat down on a chair. Din sat down too. You alright kid? He asked looking down at Grogu. Grogu looked up and cooed at him. Din smiled under his helmet. What's wrong with Luke? Din asked looking up at Anakin.

I'm not sure. Anakin replied. I'm worried about him. Din nodded looking down at Grogu and pulling him close. Grogu is lucky to have you as his father. Din didn't reply for a moment.

He has chosen to walk the way of the Jedi now. Din said. I'm not supposed to see him, but Luke had me come.

Luke would not want him to be separated from his Father, he knows that pain. Din glanced at Anakin. I was not around for his childhood. Anakin explained.

He said something strange before he collapsed. Din said changing the subject. What was it? Anakin asked. He said I wanted to see him with my own eyes. Din heard Anakin inhale was what I wished to do before I died. Anakin said. Din watched Anakin.

You wore a helmet, but you were not Mandalorian? He asked.

Anakin nodded. I must go. Anakin said suddenly.

What do I do for Luke? Din asked.

Stay with him. Anakin said then he disappeared. Din sat there not sure what to do. Grogu touched his arm. Are you okay? He asked Grogu. Grogu nodded Grogu got up and went to Luke. Din sighed. Let him rest Grogu. Din said picking Grogu up. Grogu protested. Come on, let's get you something to eat. Suddenly Din heard a ship enter the atmosphere. He quickly set Grogu down and drew his blaster. A minute later the door flung open, and a man ran in. Din aimed his blaster at him.

Who are you? He asked.

The man drew his blaster as well pointing it at din.I might ask you the same thing, bounty hunter.

I'm a Mandalorian. Din said.

Well, whatever you are get away from Luke. The man replied

Who are you? Din asked.

Han Solo. Han said. Suddenly Han's blaster flew out of his hand. Hey! Han yelled. Din turned and saw Grogu using the force. Han saw him too. Great, now there's two of them. Han said.

What are you doing here? Din asked.

Lower the blaster and I'll tell you. Din slowly did. I'm here to see Luke, Leia heard him cry out threw the force.

Who's Leia? Din asked.

His sister. Din stepped to the side. Han went to Luke. Luke. He said brushing a hand threw his hair. Luke muttered something. Shh, kid I've got you. Han said. Luke's eyes slowly opened. Hey. Han said.

Han? What are you doing here? Luke asked, attempting to sit up. Din and Han quickly grabbed his shoulders pushing him back down.

Hey no! Han yelled. Stay down kid

. I'm fine, let me up. Luke said. Din and Han looked at each other.

Let me help you. Han said.

I'm fine really. Luke tried to protest.

Luke, let me help you.

Luke sighed but nodded. Han helped Luke sit up. What's going on kid? Han asked.

Nothing. I'm fine, why are you here? Luke asked.

Leia heard you threw the force. Han explained.

Luke groaned. I didn't mean to.

But you did and I'm here now so spill it. Han said firmly crossing his arms.

I'm fine! Luke suddenly yelled. The walls shook.

Wow kid, calm down. Han said.

I am calm. Luke said, closing his eyes taking a deep breath. Din quietly headed for the door. Don't go. He heard Luke say though his eyes were still closed. Din paused and turned towards Luke, he looked so much younger right now and it suddenly struck Din that Luke was probably still in his twenties. Grogu slowly approached Luke. Han jumped.

What the heck is that! He yelled. Din turned sharply towards han.

His name is Grogu. Luke said, picking him up. Grogu snuggled into Luke's lap. Luke placed a hand on his head. He is the Padawan I was telling you about.

Well I want expecting him to look like that. Han said shaking his head. Luke suddenly looked up sharply. Din, was someone else here? Din knew what Luke was actually asking, was my father here? Din paused. Yes. He finally said. Luke's eyes widened. Han, tell Leia I'm fine.

Listen kid, you can't kick me out that easy. Han said, crossing his arms.

Han please! Luke said loudly. Han sighed. Fine, but I'll be back later, with Leia. Luke nodded, not looking at han. She misses you, so do I. Han said then he left.

What was his name? Luke asked.

Anakin Skywalker. He said he was your father. Din replied.

Luke drew in a deep breath. He was. He said. Grogu looked up at Luke. He put a hand on his face. To Din's surprise Luke hugged Grogu close to himself. Din stood and watched them. I'm sorry. Luke said, setting Grogu next to him. I shouldn't share my burdens with you. Grogu tilted his head at Luke. Grogu slowly reached out and touched his hand. Luke looked surprised then nodded. Luke then pressed his forehead to Grogu's. A moment passed then Luke gasped. Din felt the walls start to tremble. Din saw Luke's hand go into fists, an audible crack rang threw the room startling Din. Objects started to levitate. Then all went quiet.

A moment later Luke pulled away from Grogu. Luke quickly stood up and grabbed Grogu. Take him. Luke said holding him out to Din.

What? Din asked confused.

Take him and never come back. Luke said his voice shaking.

Din took Grogu from Luke. Grogu reached for Luke whimpering.

No, go. Luke said.

Why can't he come back? Din asked.

He will not want me if he finds out the truth. Luke replied.

Grogu started struggling in Din's arms. Din let him go. Grogu touched Luke's leg. Luke slowly bent down in front of him tears glistening in his eyes. Grogu pressed his forehead to Luke's. They stayed that way for a while. Finally they pulled apart. Luke and Grogu looked at each other for a minute. Then Luke picked Grogu up and stood. He will stay. Luke said. Din didn't move. And you will too.

Din tilted his head. What?

You will stay. Luke said then he handed Grogu to din and walked out of the house.

Later that day Din was walking when he noticed a Hutt off to the side. He approached it. Din quietly opened the door, he realized it was a small mechanic area. Luke sitting was on a bench inspecting his hand.

You can come in. Luke said not looking up. Din jumped. Sorry. Luke said. Didn't mean to scare you.

It's fine. Din said walking to Luke. What are you doing? Din asked.

Fixing my hand. Luke replied. It's fake. Luke explained feeling Din's confusion.

How? Din asked.

Vader. Luke replied quietly.

I'm sorry. Din said. Luke shrugged. Can you hand me that? He asked pointing to a tool. Din handed it to him. Luke started working on his hand. Was that the crack I heard? Din asked.

Luke nodded. Sometimes I forget my own strength. Luke explained. Luke tried to close his hand but it didn't work. He let out a frustrated breath.

Do you need help? Din asked.

Luke shook his head. It's fine, it's just being a pain. Luke picked up the tool again.

Don't use that. Din said.

What? Luke asked.

Use this, it will work better. Din said holding out a tool.

Thank you. Luke said taking it. Where's Grogu? Luke asked while working on his hand.

He's back in the house. Din replied.

Luke nodded. I did not finish his training today.

You could hardly help it. Din replied. Din saw Luke stiffen slightly. Are you alright? Din asked.

Yes. Luke replied. Luke then flexed his hand.

Is it alright? Din asked.

Luke nodded. Luke, Din started to say.

Yes? Luke said turning to Din. Why did you try to make Grogu leave?

Luke glanced down. Because of what he showed me.

What did he show you? Din asked.

Luke sighed. He showed me the Jedi temple the day almost all Jedi died. And I saw...I saw him. Luke paused his eyes distant.

Who did you see? Din asked.

My father.

Your father?

Yes, he was killing them. He was killing all the Jedi.

I thought your father was a Jedi. Din said, a feeling of dread washing over him.

He was, but he turned to the darkside. He was Darth Vader.

Din froze. What? He finally said.

My father fell to the darkside, but I knew there was still light in him. And there was, he saved me from the Emperor. And I thought if Grogu ever found out who my father was it would not end well. Luke explained looking down.

Why did you change your mind? Din asked.

He told me he knew. Luke replied. That he had felt it threw the force and had called to me. He said he felt my sorrow. Luke looked up at Din. If you do not wish me to train your son, I understand.

No. Din said. If Grogu trusts you then so do I.

Luke looked away. Thank you. he whispered.

He wanted to see you with his own eyes. Din said. He saw Luke flinch slightly. You said that earlier, it was about your father?

Yes. Luke replied not turning around. Din didn't say anything more and left the hut. A while later Luke returned to the house. Grogu ran to him. Luke smiled and picked him up. Hello little one. He said. Luke walked into the kitchen. Are you hungry? He asked Grogu. Grogu made a noise. Luke smiled. Alright, I'll make something. Luke set Grogu down. Luke started throwing things into a bowl over a fire. Luke then left the kitchen and sat down in the sitting area. I'm sorry we did not finish your training today Grogu. Luke said.

Patoo. Grogu said. Din saw slight pain flicker across Luke's face.

Are you alright? Din asked him.

Yes, fine. Luke replied though he seemed lost in thought. A little while later Luke stood up and went back to the kitchen. He poured two bowls of the soup. He handed one to Grogu and set the other on the table. Luke then turned to leave.

thank you. Din said sitting at the table.

You're welcome. Luke said then he left.

A half hour later Din went out to get a few things from his ship. As he was walking he noticed Luke sitting in the same place he had been that morning watching the sunset. Din continued to his ship, after getting his things he headed back for the house. He glanced towards where he had seen Luke but he was gone. Din arrived at the house, he went in. Luke was sitting in the sitting room with Grogu. Luke looked up when Din entered.

He seemed lonely. Luke explained standing up. I'll be going now. Luke swayed on his feet. Worried Din set down his things.

Are you okay? He asked.

Fine, I'm fine... Luke trailed off, he suddenly fell backwards. Din managed to catch him. Luke! Luke's eyes opened slightly.

Din? He mumbled then his eyes closed again.

Luke! Din put Luke onto his bed. Grogu crawled onto the bed making distressed noises. Din shook Luke's shoulder. Luke, wake up! Din felt heat radiating from Luke. Din quickly took off a glove and pressed his hand to Luke's forehead. Din grimaced, his skin was burning.

Father. Luke mumbled.

Wake up Luke. Din said shaking his shoulder again. Grogu put a hand on Luke's arm. Luke jolted awake. Panicked he tried to sit up.

Hey, calm down! Din said grabbing his shoulders and forcing him back down. Stay down for a while, you're burning up. Luke was breathing heavily.

I'm fine. He finally said.

No, you're not, stay lying. Din said. Grogu made worried noises.

I'm alright Grogu. Luke said patting his arm.

I'll be right back, stay here. Din said before turning and leaving the room. Din quickly went to the kitchen and got a cloth, he soaked it in cold water, he then poured a bowl of broth remembering Luke didn't take any before. Din returned to the room. Luke was attempting to get up an angry Grogu trying to stop him. Din sighed setting down the things.

Stop. He said putting his hands on Luke's shoulders. Luke looked up at Din.

I need to do things. He said.

not now. Din said guiding Luke back down. Luke fought against him weakly. Din held him down firmly. Luke, let me help you. You are not well. Luke stopped struggling slightly.

Fine. He finally said. Din helped him sit up and lean against the wall. He grabbed the cloth and quickly started to wipe Luke's face and neck. Luke protested and tried to take it from Din.

Stop. Din said. Luke dropped his hand. We need to bring your fever down. Din explained. Luke trembled slightly from the cold water. Din set the cloth to the side. When did you last eat? He asked. Luke's eyes flicked to the side.

This afternoon. He said. Grogu made a noise beside Din. Din looked down at Grogu.

What is it? He asked. Grogu held out his hand towards Luke making small noises.

You are stronger in the force then I first thought Grogu. Luke said.

Din turned back to Luke. What do you mean?

Grogu, he is very strong with the force, especially threw emotions. Grogu suddenly made an angry noise. Luke chuckled softly. Alright Grogu, I'll eat. Din handed Luke the bowl. Luke took it reluctantly.

When did you last eat? Din asked again.

The day before you came. Luke replied staring down at the bowl.

Are you not hungry? Din asked. Luke shrugged stirring the broth. Din reached out and caught Luke's hands. Please eat. He said. Luke looked up at Din. He seemed to be searching his face, all that he could see of it. Luke pulled his hand away from Din and tentatively reached out to touch his helmet. Din stiffened when Luke's fingers brushed against it.

Why do you wear it? Luke asked.

It is the creed.

The creed?

The creed of the Mandalorian. Din explained.

But why do you never remove it?

This is the way. Din replied reaching up and removing Luke's hand from his helmet.

I saw you remove your helmet. Luke said. Din looked away for a moment. Does that make you no longer Mandalorian?

Din paused. Yes. He finally replied.

So why do you still not show your face? Luke asked. Silence fell over them. A minute later Din stood up.

Eat. Din said walking towards the door.

I'm sorry I did not mean to upset you. Luke said.

You didn't. Din replied.

I don't know much about Mandalorian. Luke said. I only ever knew one, but I don't think he was really a Mandalorian, and we weren't exactly friendly. Din turned back towards Luke who still hadn't eaten.

You need to eat. Din said. Luke looked down at the bowl in his hands. Do I need to contact your friend? Din asked.

No, I'm fine. Luke replied. Din sighed. He walked over to the bed and sat down by it. Tell me about this Mandalorian you knew.

Luke huffed. Knew isn't exactly the word I'd use.

You used it before. Din said.

Luke smiled slightly. I suppose I did. He wanted my friend who was here earlier.

Han? Din interrupted Luke.

Yes. Luke replied then continued speaking. He froze him in Carbonite. Vader wanted to do the same to me, But that's a different story. My friends managed to save Han but were caught in the act, though it was somewhat part of the plan. But we ended up all being caught. They were going to execute us but I managed to stop it along with some help, but Han knock the Bounty Hunter into a sarlac pit. Din grimaced under his helmet.

What was his name? Din asked.

Boba Fett. Luke replied.

Boba Fett? Din said confused.

Yes. Luke replied.

But he's not dead. Din said.

What? Luke said. How? We all saw him get knocked in.

He must have survived it. He had just been with me when you came for Grogu. Din said.

Really? Luke asked.

yes. Din replied.

Wait till I tell Han. Luke said shaking his head. Luke suddenly froze. You were with him?

He was helping me. Din replied. Luke nodded. Eat. Din said nudging his shoulder. Luke sighed.

I'm not hungry. he said trying to set the bowl to the side.

Din took it from Luke. You need to eat.

Luke shook his head trying to get up. I need to do something.

No. Din said reaching for him. Din suddenly found he couldn't move.

I need to go. Luke said. Grogu made worried noises running to Din. Grogu turned to Luke angrily making noises at Luke. Din found he could move again. I'm sorry Grogu. Luke said. Grogu turned to Din.

I'm alright kid. Din said patting his head. Din then turned to Luke. Please, stay.

Luke shook his head. I need to work. He went to stand up but stumbled, he collapsed back onto the bed. What's going on? Din heard Luke mumble. Luke reluctantly turned to Din. He held out his hand. Din handed him the bowl. Luke started to slowly eat the broth. Din could see his hands shaking. After a few minutes Luke set the bowl to the side. I should go. Luke said starting to stand.

Stay here. Din said standing. I'll sleep out there. Din said gesturing at the sitting area. Luke looked reluctant to agree. Luke, you are in no shape to walk.

No, I'm fine I can walk to my own place. Luke said standing up.

Din sighed. At least let me walk with you.

Fine. Luke said taking a step forward. He stumbled, Din reached out to steady him but Luke held out a hand. I'm fine. Din nodded.

Grogu, stay here. Din said heading for the door. Grogu made an annoyed noise.

Goodnight young one. Luke said patting his head. He then followed Din out of the house.

Where is your place? Din asked.

This way. Luke said walking. They walked for a couple minutes then Din saw a round small stone building Luke paused outside the door. Thank you. He said. Din nodded. Luke pushed his door open. You can come in if you'd like. Luke said from inside the house. Din walked in. Inside it was small and all that was in it was a bed a small cabinet by his bed and a table, small items were also strewn around the room. Din watched as Luke unclipped his lightsaber and put it on the cabinet. Din noticed the bed looked unslept in. Thank you for helping me. Luke said.

Din not sure what to say just nodded.

Did you talk to him? Luke suddenly asked.

Who? Din asked confused.

My father.

Yes. Din replied.

What did he say? Luke asked.

That he was worried about you.

Luke shook his head. He's always worried about me...sometimes it's hard to contact him. The force doesn't always allow it.

I'm sorry. Din said. Luke didn't reply but turned to look out the window. Din thought he saw tears in his eyes. I should get back to Grogu. Din said breaking the silence. Luke nodded. Din left the house, he glanced over his shoulder and saw Luke still staring out the window still not facing him. Din sighed and headed back to Grogu.
