"Somebody's feeling better, you know." Rocket heard Nebula say softly to him grinning.
"Yep, well you helped me feel better after you saw how bad my chest was hurting." Rocket said.
It was a few weeks after that night, when he'd told her that his chest was still hurting and getting an operation to patch the wound up but Nebula had helped nurse her boy back to health seeing him getting up to get dressed taking off his pyjamas but staring at the stitches onnhis furry chest, which Nebula noticed coming overto him.
"Everything okay, what's on your mind." she whispered into his furry ear.
"I'm okay, just thinking whispering ijto her ear, as this was something they'd did since the Blip which the others didn't get and Peter thought they were playing the Earth game, Telephone which always made Nebula and Rocket give him confused looks hearing familar scampering sounds.
"The babies are up, we should get dressed, then tend to them before going aboht our day, maybe later, we'll have nachoes with guac." Nebula told him, seeing a grin on Rocket's face, he loved Mexican food and was mow dressed in his vibrant armour making Nebula grin as they went downstairs hearing excitement, and chirping sounds seeing their baby-raccoons wrestling, rolling around making them chuckle.
"Alright guys, let's calm down and get you're hungry." Rocket told them after whistling to get their attention seeing all eyes on him impressing Nebula while making bottles for the infant-kits seeing Rocket on the floor with them, playing with them which melted her heart
She hadn't intended on being a mother to a bunch of baby-raccoons but after moving in with Rocket and him explaining how he'd found them in the cage in the HE's lab, how they didn't have a mom or taken from her, she thought of growing up with Thanos so knew they needed a mother since they'd adopted Rocket as their dad which she found sweet and it made her think of how lucky those kits were, feeding them one atva time.
"Thanks for calming them down, as they must have had a good night's rest." she told Rocket
It was morning on Knowhere, and Nebula and Rocket had just woken up, after sleeping in the bed together snuggling until the rays of the morning sun had woken them up besides the baby-raccoons waking up too so both of them had gotten up but dressed heading downstairs and after tending to the baby-raccoons, getting them ready for playgroup, they left the house but dropping the kits off kissing their furry heads alomg with Rocket so they'd feel safe and reassured them they'd cone back.
"I should get going to the meeting." Rocket told her kissing her as he left feeling her heart skip beats going to do mayor stuff hoping Rocket would be okay like the baby-raccoons at playgroup while tending to things on Knowhere and was looking forward to having nachoes with Rocket atee hoping he was doing good, with the others.
"Mmmmmmm, the nachoes are so good and haven't had them in a lojg while, since that night at Starling's Tavern when my chest was hurting so this is good, Nebs plus the babies are sleeping." Rocket told Nebula
It was later that evening and Nebula and Rocket were sitting on the couch in the living-room eating Mexican food especially nachoes and guac plus drinking soda as Nebula didn't want Rocket to risk hurting his chest but giggled seeing nacho cheese in his furry chin handing him an napkin grinning at him wearing a sombero taking a selfie giggling softly seeing the photo.
"Yeah, I know you love me, Nebs but just have a lot on my mind." Rocket told her.
"Ohhhh yeah the HE is innhis cage and probably awaiting trial by the Novacore, for all the things he did to me and others in that lab." Rocket replied to her frowning a little but his smile returned feeling Nebula hold his paw
"Don't worry, he'll get what's coming to him, like Thanos." he heard her say.
"I hope so, but let's not ruin ohr night by talking aboht that." Rocket told her dipping an nacho into the guac eating relieving Nebula as she cared about him deeply and understood
"Sorry Rockie and yeah, good point." Nebula told him kissing him.
"Thanks Nebs as it relaxes me." Rocket replied to her.
