Me: I know what you're thinking...

Me: You're either thinking: "Cool! No one's ever done a crossover between Sonic the hedgehog and Keeper of the Lost Cities! I should read this!" Or you're thinking: "Not another project! Finish Sonic: Future Generation and Journey Across Frontiers before you start something new!"

Me: But I just couldn't wait any longer!

...

Prologue Part One:

The speed was breathtaking.

Literally. She was having a hard time taking breathes.

It wasn't just her friend's urgent strides that had made her lungs stop working, though.

It was the thought of who she'd just left behind.

To save herself.

It was selfish, that she'd let her new mobian friends usher her to safety.

When there were so many other friends left behind.

But...was there anything she could've done if she'd stayed?

If she'd tried to stay and fight, would she have been taken to?

Her friends had told her to run. At the price of their own safety.

What would happen to them?

Prologue Part Two:

Here he was, right back where he'd started.

The cold metal of the restraints dug into his wrists; and there was a harsh buzzing in his head.

And the smell.

The sharp scent of blood.

His blood.

This was how it had been for days, months...an entire two years.

Until he had escaped many months ago.

He'd thought it's been the right choice at the time.

That he could live free and alone.

The last thing he'd expected was to find people who cared about him; and, though he would never admit it out loud, he grew to care for to.

Now he was back where he'd started, and he had dragged some of his friends into the horrors with him.

He could hear their screams.

They cut him worse than the scalpel digging into him.

He wished he'd never escaped the first time.

But you can't change the past...

...

Me: Those of you who stuck around and read those prologues probably hate me right now...

Me: So! A quick note before I close this chapter.

Me: First of all, this is an AU. I'm going to try as hard as I can to keep plots from the book out of the story. Don't tempt me!

Me: Second, I'm writing this with a friend of mine and she doesn't have much time for writing, so updates will be slow. Please don't pester us for the next chapter.

Me: And I think that's it. See you later readers!
