Back in time to live a life.
AN: This fic is inspired by all those fics that have a betrayed Hinny coming back in time. This is my take on that trope with a good Ron Weasley for a change.
Chapter 1: Death's Opportunity.
"3, 2, 1" the young couple counted before the international portkey took them to the British portkey terminal. The couple was on their honeymoon after they eloped the day after they returned from Hogwarts. The young man, Harry Potter, decided to return to Hogwarts after the second blood war to take his seventh year with his wife then girlfriend Ginevra 'Ginny' Weasley. They both didn't know what to do with their lives after a youth that was shaped by the actions of one of the darkest wizards that ever existed: Tom Marvolo Riddle, better known as Lord Voldemort. They both were nervous about what would be the reaction of their family after their elopement, they knew that their family wouldn't like it, but they wanted to make a life together.
As soon as the couple appeared at the porkey terminal, a hooded figure tackled them and activated another portkey, taking them somewhere else.
As they appeared in what appeared to be an abandoned house, before either Harry or Ginny could question the hooded figure, the hooded figure spoke, "Harry, Ginny, you were too reckless in going out and eloping without telling anyone," Before taking his hood and revealing the face of Ronald Weasley.
"Ron! Where are we?" asked Harry and Ginny in unison.
"In the shrieking shack, but that is not important," Ron answered before showing some headlines from the daily prophet, "Our dear brother, the one that left the family because he believed that stupid oaf named Cornelius Fudge and then returned after Fred's death, was still resentful of Harry's better relationship with our family."
As Harry and Ginny were reading the headlines, anger started showing on their faces.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Harry screamed.
"No. It seems that Percy and Hermione both decided that you were too reckless to be in control of your own life. The ministry annulled your marriage. Harry, you are now a ward of the ministry because of a decree that was proposed by the order of the phoenix after the battle in the department of mysteries, but it was archived until you decided to elope."
"Who were the traitors in the order, to kill them." Asked Ginny venomously."
"Snape and McGonagall spearheaded that decree, and it was approved by the entirety of the order with the exceptions of our parents, our brothers, Remus, Tonks and Kingsley."
"How was that decree reactivated?" Harry asked.
Ron answered, "Hermione decided to claim the Wizengamot seat she earned with the order of Merlin first class. She decided that because you finally behaved like a bloke our age and decided to spend the last year snogging my sister here and playing quidditch, you were turning dark. She used the fact that you used that spell Snape invented in Malfoy and decided to crucio Carrow to claim that it was necessary to restrict your movements." Then he looked at Ginny and said, "You are now a ward of Percy and set to marry Malfoy in two weeks. Percy made a case to the Wizengamot that you also were incapable of doing your own decisions."
Ginny's face turned green, "What you said can feed a killing curse now," she turned to Harry and said, "Harry we need to leave."
Harry on the other hand asked his brother in law, "What are the stances of the rest of the family and the DA?"
"The rest of the family with the obvious exception of Percy are on our side, Fleur said that her family is going to offer you a hideout, but you need to reach France. On the other hand, the D.A is split."
"Ginny, let's go!" Harry commanded.
As the couple tried to apparate they realized that there was an anti-apparition jinx. Then a blasting curse took down the wall of the shack. The hole in the wall revealed three familiar faces, Percy Weasley, Neville Longbottom, and Hermione Granger.
"Potter! You are going to stop destroying our family, your lies and delusions finish now!" Percy yelled with a commanding voice.
"Harry wasn't a deluded liar you dumb prat, the only delusional one is you, Percy." Ginny replied.
Hermione talked this time, "Ginny, we are doing this to protect you. Harry is dangerous, you are going to live a better life with Draco."
"Are you listening to yourself, Granger? Malfoy? The one that openly wished death to all of us many times during our time at Hogwarts? The one that almost killed my brother and Katie? Harry was right to use sectumsempra on him. If I was there, I would just have finished him." Ginny responded.
"Potter, you must surrender. No one is going to defend you, the DA members that were loyal to you are all dead. It happened that many in the DA were already skeptical of your sanity, the only ones that defended you were the chasers, Dean, the Patil twins, Luna, and Ginny's roommates. Half of the Auror force is outside, so even if you defeat us, you'll fall." Neville commanded.
"NEVER! I fought this war against Voldemort because I wanted to live a life I could enjoy. If I can't live a life, I'd rather die." Harry answered.
"I know what you are thinking, Harry. I agree with you. I'd rather die than to be Malfoy's brood mare. In death we are going to find freedom!" Ginny said.
Both Harry and Ginny turned towards each other and pointed their wands to the other one. In unison they said the incantation, "Avada kedavra." The two green beams hit their targets and both Harry and Ginny fell dead.
"Look at what you have done, Percy! You killed our sister and our brother! I hope your conscience is in peace with that. Oh Right! you don't have one." Ron said defiantly.
"Harry was never a brother and will never be a brother!" Percy screamed angrily.
"It looks like this is the end. I hope your consciences eat all of you. I hope that you understand that you are the direct cause of death of four of your siblings. Harry was my best mate, my brother. Is the Malfoy money that worth it that you decided to destroy our family? Were you seriously that daft that believed all the Fudge and Umbridge propaganda? Harry killed Voldemort and you saw that with your own eyes, he wasn't a fledging dark lord, he just wanted to live and have a family." Ron then started laughing, "But of course you, and Hermione don't believe in the concept of family. You cared more about your reputation than us, we embarrassed you because we were all about family. Hermione, you spent more time with our family than yours, I understand that Harry did that because his relatives were abusive, but you I don't understand, were you that ashamed of them because you were magical and they…" A green beam of light hit Ron, then Percy realized that Hermione was the one that cast the killing curse.
"He pissed me off, I don't understand what I saw on him." Hermione then approached Percy and kissed him.
Harry woke up in a strange place, everything was white and looked like nothingness. He then saw a tall pale woman that was wearing a hooded robe. Harry approached the woman and asked, "Where am I?" he remembered him and his wife killing themselves, "Is this the afterlife? Are you Death?"
The woman smiled and replied, "You are correct in one guess, I am Death. But this isn't the afterlife, this the waystation, you visited this place when you let Voldemort kill you. I have an opportunity for you."
Harry asked curiously, "Which opportunity and Why?"
Death explained, "You are the master of my three treasures and didn't use them for power. You and your wife now have the opportunity to come back in time and do it all over again."
"Can you bring Ginny here?"
"Of course!"
Ginny appeared just beside Harry, looked everywhere in shock, "Where are we Harry? Who is she?"
Death chimed in, "I'm going to answer this my child. I'm Death and because you didn't use my treasures for personal gain. I'm giving you the opportunity to be sent back in time to a time of your choosing."
Ginny said, "I know when! We should be sent to the day before my birthday in the summer before my first year."
Harry asked his wife, "Why?"
"By that time we already have the stupid diary, so we can make sure it doesn't possess anyone in the new timeline. Then we can use my birthday to bond and make our family less suspicious of our closeness."
Harry smiled, "And then we should take care of Pettigrew and free Sirius."
Ginny answered "Of course!"
Death interrupted them, "About Sirius Black, I decided to send you some help." In front of the young couple, Sirius Black appeared in the same outfit he had in the battle of the department of mysteries. "He is the Sirius Black of your timeline, the one that fell into my realm three years ago. You need someone to trust that would be in your page."
Harry and Ginny ran up to hug Sirius Black, "Sirius, I'm sorry, It was all my fault," Harry said.
"Harry, it wasn't your fault. I remember telling the order that keeping you in the dark is a stupid decision, I was proven right. I watched everything you lived since my death, so you don't need to explain anything." Sirius assured.
"So, you know about the betrayal of the order?" Harry asked.
"Yes, and I hate all of them. First they send me to Azkaban without a trial, then they decide that you were too dangerous and propose a law that made you a ward of the ministry if you survived the war. They just assumed that you would turn dark, when the only thing you want is kiss that pretty redhead beside you. I heard the first part of your plan, I think that the next part is something we need to discuss in the world of the living. I need to see what the resources in my disposition are. If I know correctly, by that time Uncle Cygnus and Grandfather Arcturus should be already dead and I should be the last male line Black. I agree with you on the date, you can tell Death you are ready." Sirius explained.
"Death, we are ready!" Harry announced.
"Before I send you back to your time. Harry, I sense a worry about certain soul fragment, don't worry, that isn't a horcrux. If you do what you said you would do, the fragment is going to disappear in a year. You are now going to be sent to 10th of august of 1992, as you requested."
A blue light started to flash around the three time travellers becoming stronger by each second until it swallowed them and the travellers disappeared.
