Since I've been having trouble writing fanfics, I decided to try to get back into things with the help of A.I. Now, I'm not writing solely with A.I. I tried that for a bit, but I didn't really like how it was turning out. Like at all. So instead, I'll be using A.I. as a sort of collaborator. So I'm writing with A.I., not having A.I. writer for me. This is probably gonna be a big fic anyways, so it's probably better for me to write like this. Anyways, hope you enjoy The Otherworld Pirates!
Warning, I'm using the manga of MHA. I'm going to avoid the more serious spoilers, but I am gonna be using the Second's Quirk. So, be warned.
Disclaimer: I don't own One Piece, or any of the series involved in this fanfic. One Piece is owned by Eiichiro Oda and Toei Animation.
The last thing he remembered seeing was a green light. A sudden green light, one that filled his vision during his clash with Tomura Shigaraki. A powerful villain who was being taken over by his master, All for One. It was a battle which would determine the future of Japan, no, the world! So why was he suddenly on an unfamiliar beach?!
"Why am I here?!" Izuku Midoriya suddenly shouted into the air, throwing his hands into the air. He winced slightly as he felt his sore body scold him for trying to move too much. He looked around, trying to figure things out. The salty sea breeze brushed past his freckled face before he turned around. His eyes widened as he took in what was behind the beach.
A vibrant land, one with its vibrant cherry blossom trees dancing in the wind, welcomed him with a serene beauty that seemed almost otherworldly. The soft petals littered the ground, creating a delicate tapestry of pink and white beneath his feet. The traditional Japanese architecture stood tall against the backdrop of mist-covered mountains, casting a sense of mystery and tranquility over the land.
Izuku Midoriya stood on the sandy shores, his emerald eyes wide with disbelief. He thought back to the events that had led him to this mysterious place. His heart raced as he remembered the innocent people he had tried to save, and how it had led to a confrontation with All for One, the bogeyman of the Hero Society. Having been gifted with an incredible power, One for All, a torch passed down through generations, it was his duty to fight him. To defeat him. Once and for all. So why was he here? Where was here?
Izuku Midoriya took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. He glanced down at his right arm, which throbbed slightly. It was a reminder of the power that had been unleashed during his clash with All for One. Despite his best efforts, the two were completely even, their battle shaking the country of Japan. And now, here he stood in a place unfamiliar and yet strangely captivating.
As Izuku Midoriya took in the picturesque surroundings of the strange land, he noticed a faint aroma wafting through the air—a tantalizing scent that beckoned him closer. Following his instinct, he ventured further into the heart of the island, his gaze fixated on the bustling streets ahead. Merchants lined the pathways, their vibrant stalls adorned with delicate lanterns, illuminating the area with a warm and inviting glow. He looked around and raised a hand to stop someone.
"Excuse me? Uh, where am I?" Izuku Midoriya's voice carried a note of confusion as he reached out to stop a passerby, desperately seeking answers in this unfamiliar land. The person he stopped was a middle-aged man dressed in traditional attire, his face lined with age and wisdom. The man turned to face Izuku, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"Why, young traveler, you're in the Land of Wano," the man answered, his voice tinged with a deep resonance. Izuku blinked.
"Wano?"
"Indeed, young traveler. You have found yourself in the enchanting Land of Wano," the man replied, his voice laden with a sense of pride for his homeland. "This island is a tapestry of beauty and mystery, where cherry blossoms bloom in abundance, and secrets lie hidden beneath the surface."
"I see… Could you tell me where in Japan it is?" he asked. The old man blinked in confusion.
"Japan, young man?" the old man said in confusion. "I'm afraid I don't know where that is."
'How- He's wearing traditional Japanese garb!' Izuku's mind swam. The old man looked at him, and his eyes suddenly lit up.
"Young man, could you possibly be an Otherworlder?"
The old man's words hung in the air, and Izuku couldn't help but feel a shiver of unease crawl up his spine. He stared at the man in bewilderment, his mind racing to make sense of this newfound revelation. Otherworlder? What did that even mean? He had been transported to a different world? How was that even possible?
"I... I don't understand," Izuku stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.
The old man studied Izuku Midoriya with a curious gaze, his eyes glinting with a mixture of intrigue and apprehension. The air around them seemed to hum with an unspoken secret, as if the weight of the world rested on their shoulders.
"An Otherworlder," the old man repeated with a tone of solemnity. "24 years ago, before the death of a heinous criminal known as Gold Roger, green light appeared all over the world, and continues to appear to this day. From these green lights come people from other worlds. They became simply known as Otherworlders."
Izuku Midoriya's eyes widened in astonishment as the old man's words settled in his mind. Otherworlder. The term hung heavy in the air, like a fog of uncertainty. He tried to process the implications, his thoughts swirling like a tempest within his mind. How had he become one of these Otherworlders? Was he the only one? Questions upon questions cascaded through his thoughts, threatening to overwhelm him.
Izuku Midoriya's heart pounded in his chest as he tried to make sense of the old man's words. This Land of Wano, this place seemingly untouched by the passage of time, held more secrets than he could fathom. He glanced around, taking in the vibrant lanterns that adorned every nook and cranny, casting a warm, golden glow upon the streets.
The old man took pity on the boy and bought him a bowl of hot udon to eat. Izuku thanked the man as he walked off, before digging in to distract himself and collect his thoughts. Inside his mind, he could hear the Vestiges of One for All murmuring amongst themselves. He could hardly blame them. It was a lot to take in. As Izuku savored the steaming bowl of udon, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. The comforting warmth of the broth enveloped his senses, offering solace amidst the chaos of his current situation. His taste buds were met with the delicate dance of flavors—a perfect harmony of savory and umami that seemed to soothe his troubled soul.
He eventually finished and decided that the first thing to do was to go collect as much information as he could. He walked amongst the people of Wano, observing as much as he could.
'At least this place is beautiful,' he thought. Even so, he had to find his way home. He had a war to finish.
As Izuku Midoriya strolled through the bustling streets of Wano, the lively ambiance of the marketplace engulfed his senses. The scent of freshly baked goods mingled with the aroma of sizzling skewers, enticing his taste buds with their mouth-watering allure.
Suddenly, he came across a poster labeled "Queen's Concert! Come one, come all! Not Optional, by order of Shogun Orochi!"
'Queen? Is she a celebrity? I think I remember a band called Queen. At least, I remember Jirou mentioning that to me. But if this is a new world, it's probably not that. A bit strange that the concert is mandatory. If I can't find a way home soon enough, I should probably go if it is,' he thought.
"You're not a citizen." Nana Shimura said in his head.
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do," Yoichi Shigaraki countered. Izuku let them bicker slightly as he continued on his way. He didn't notice a group of thuggish men watching him walk off.
"Well, this place very much resembles what I'd expect of feudal Japan," Izuku said as he stood on top of a tall tree. He took a moment to take in a deep breath before exhaling deeply. He looked at his phone, noticing that it was broken. Disappointed, he put it back into one of his belt pouches.
"How am I going to get home?" he sighed. A rustling caught his attention. He dropped down as a group of men walked out.
"Hey there, kid! You look kinda lost!" one said. They were all dressed in leather clothes that looked more like what vikings would wear instead of the kimonos and yukatas he saw before.
Izuku's eyes narrowed as he observed the group of men standing before him. Their gruff voices and menacing demeanor sent a shiver down his spine, but he refused to show any signs of fear. His mind raced, analyzing the situation before him. Were they friendly? Did they have ill intentions? He had learned not to judge a book by its cover, but he couldn't help but feel a twinge of unease in their presence.
"I suppose I am. I, uh, I've been told that I'm an, Otherworlder?" he said.
"An Otherworlder? Oh, we get lots of those. We've been told to recruit them for the Beast Pirates," the first one said. Izuku's eyes widened at the mention of pirates. His mind flashed back to the numerous stories he had heard of these ruthless seafarers, their lives filled with plundering, violence, and lawlessness. He had never imagined finding himself face to face with them. The gravity of the situation settled heavily upon him.
"P-Pirates?" Izuku stammered, his voice trembling slightly.
Izuku's heart raced within his chest as he locked eyes with the group of men. Their grizzled appearances and the mention of pirates sent his mind into a whirlwind of apprehension and fear. The flickering lanterns above cast eerie shadows on their hardened faces, emphasizing the ruthlessness that seemed to emanate from their very beings. The air around them seemed to grow heavy with tension, as if the atmosphere itself knotted in anticipation of what was to come.
The group of men exchanged glances, their eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and amusement. The ringleader, a towering figure with a scar running across his cheek, stepped forward, his voice laced with a hint of mockery.
"Well, well, well. Are you bothered by that?" he sneered, his lips curling into a sinister smile.
Izuku's eyes narrowed as he stood his ground, his body tense with anticipation. He could feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins, heightening his senses to every minute detail of his surroundings. The air around them seemed to grow still, as if time itself held its breath.
Izuku stood firm, his gaze locked with the scarred man before him. The weight of the situation bore down upon him, his heart pounding in his chest like a war drum. His mind raced with a flurry of thoughts, his thoughts a tempest threatening to consume him. The menacing presence of the pirates loomed over him like a dark cloud, casting a shadow over his resolve.
The scarred pirate's twisted smile widened, revealing a row of yellowed teeth. His eyes flickered with a malevolent gleam as he took a step closer to Izuku Midoriya, his heavy footsteps echoing through the clearing. The air grew thick with tension, the very atmosphere crackling with an unspoken challenge.
"What are pirates doing in this land?" Izuku questioned.
"What are we doing here? We rule this damn land. This place is under the control of the Beast Pirates, led by Lord Kaido, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea!" the leader said proudly. The rest of the group echoed with howls and grunts. Izuku looked less intimidated and more exasperated from the noise.
But his eyes narrowed as he listened to the scarred pirate's words. The mention of Lord Kaido and the Four Emperors of the Sea only served to heighten his unease. He thought for a second, before realizing something.
"Does Shogun Orochi work with Kaido?"
"Damn right. Everything in Wano is possible because of Lord Kaido!" the pirate said.
'Then that concert is something to be worried about.'
"I know that you want to help him, but..." Nana trailed off.
"All for One does take precedence for now. It's a more immediate situation, while this area is more, well, peaceful at the moment," Yoichi said.
"But we still don't know how to get back. If Kaido is the leader of this damn group, he'd probably know how we can go home," The Second said.
"Hey! Are you listening to me!" The pirate grabbed him by the collar. Izuku grimaced and looked the pirates over. He spotted one, who seemed shorter than the rest.
"Excuse me, how tall are you?" he asked. The short pirate blinked.
"Er... 166 centimeters."
"Oh, perfect." Izuku gripped the pirate's arm as energy crackled around him. "Full Cowling."
As Izuku Midoriya's power surged through his veins, a crackling energy enveloped his body, tingling his skin and electrifying the air around him. The pirate's eyes widened with surprise as he felt his arm being gripped with a strength he didn't expect from the scrawny kid. Before he could react, Izuku unleashed his Quirk, knocking the man back. The other pirates drew their weapons, only for Izuku to attack them at high speeds.
The two sides clashed with swords and clubs clashing with iron-covered soles and powerful fists. Izuku grunted as he punched one pirate in the stomach with 5%, but the pirate shrugged it off and swung his club down, forcing Izuku to dodge. The hero landed in a crouched stance, his eyes narrowing.
'He's standing up to 5%!' Izuku thought as his punch was blocked and nearly countered with a slash. 'Then, I'll finish them quickly with 20%!'
Izuku jumped into the air and drew his foot back. The pirates all panicked as they saw him approach with a leg covered in energy.
"20 Percent: St. Louis Smash!" He landed the kick, creating a shockwave that sent up a cloud of dust. When it cleared, the pirates were knocked out. Izuku dragged them to the tree and tied them up using the spare capture tape he had in his hero costume before taking the clothes of the short pirate and wearing them himself.
"I don't like showing this much skin. And in leather," Izuku sighed as he stuffed his costume into a leather shoulder bag. He looked around before kicking off into the air.
'Float!' Izuku activated Nana's Quirk and hovered in the air above the clouds. As he gently glided above the clouds, he gazed down at the Land of Wano, its vibrant cherry blossom trees dotting the landscape like delicate brush strokes on a masterpiece. The mist-covered mountains held an air of mystery, their peaks shrouded in a veil of secrecy that piqued Izuku's curiosity. The soft breeze tousled his hair as he took in the breathtaking scenery, the serenity of the moment contrasting with the chaos that awaited him below.
It's hard to believe that such a beautiful land was under the control of pirates of all people. But the green-haired hero saw that not all of the land was a work of art. There was one area that appeared more like it belonged in the industrial age. And nearby, there was a structure that was shaped like a skull.
"Maybe there," Izuku muttered. He dropped down and landed nearby.
As Izuku Midoriya approached the group of pirates, he put on his best confident smile, hoping to blend in seamlessly. His heart pounded in his chest, a mixture of nervous anticipation and excitement coursed through his veins. He observed the pirates closely, studying their mannerisms and interactions, trying to gauge their personalities and intentions. Sure enough, they looked like savages. Cruel barbarians, yet there was some order to them. There was clearly a hierarchy here.
The aroma of freshly roasted meat wafted through the air, mingling with the heavy scent of sake. Izuku glanced around nervously as he helped unload several heavy crates. He grunted as he lifted one and put it down near the rest.
"Hey!" Izuku straightened and spun around. A tall pirate approached and looked him over with a sneer. He saw Izuku's scarred arms, and his trained frame. Izuku's heart thudded softly in his chest as he wondered if his cover was already blown so soon.
"You don't look familiar," the pirate finally said.
"Uh, I'm new, sir."
"Where you from?"
"Uh... the, West?" Izuku tried. The pirate grunted.
"The West Blue, aye?"
"Yes sir."
"Hmph. Well put that to the side. The crew is gathering for Queen's concert," the pirate instructed as he turned away. Izuku gave a sigh of relief.
"Yes sir!"
"And stop talking like that! You sound like a filthy Marine!" the pirate grunted as he walked away. Izuku sighed again as he adjusted his bag and followed him. He filed the mentions of Marines to the back of his head as he did.
As Izuku Midoriya made his way towards the gathering for Queen's concert, he couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and trepidation. The pulsating rhythm of his heartbeat matched the vibrant energy of the lively streets of Wano, where the sweet scent of cherry blossoms mingled with the tantalizing aroma of street food. Lanterns adorned every corner, casting a warm and inviting glow that seemed to dance in perfect harmony with the lively chatter of the townspeople.
"You've seen Queen sing?" the pirate grunted.
"No, s- Uh, no. Not yet. Really excited to though!" Izuku said nervously. The pirate snorted.
"You're in for a treat!" he said before shoving him in one area. Izuku stumbled and struggled to stay with the crowd as he went through it before coming to a stop. He apologized sheepishly at some grumbling pirates before looking around. There was a large stage at the ready. It didn't take long for the show to start.
The stage was bathed in a soft, golden light as Queen, the eccentric pirate with a larger-than-life personality, took his place at the center. His flamboyant attire, adorned with feathers and sequins, shimmered in the glow of the lanterns, capturing the attention of the entire crowd. The air crackled with a palpable energy, a mixture of anticipation and awe, as the first notes of the music reverberated through the air.
"Hello ya mangy wenches and sons-of-bitches!" Queen roared. Izuku winced as the scream practically shook his entire body. It didn't help that the crowd all screamed back as well.
The crowd erupted into a frenzy of applause and cheers, their voices melding together in a symphony of excitement. Izuku Midoriya found himself caught up in the wave of emotions that surged through the air, the infectious energy seeping into his very being. The vibrant colors of Wano seemed to intensify, the cherry blossoms a riot of pinks and whites, as if nature itself was celebrating the arrival of Queen. Finally, the massive man held up a hand to silence them.
"Alright y'all! If you're ready to party, you're at the right place! But first! Our Lord Orochi is here with an announcement! So give him a warm welcome with a round of applause!" Queen shouted. The crowd gave a thankfully much quieter cheer as Orochi appeared. He was a short and pudgy man, with strangely mismatched teeth showing in his greedy and arrogant grin. Izuku immediately didn't like his smile.
"Meow, said no one ever," Nana commented.
"Eh, I've seen worse," Daigoro said.
"Yes, thank you, Queen! Now, we are here to enjoy a magnificent concert! But! Before that, we have something that will surely get your blood pumping!" Orochi shrieked. "Bring out the prisoners!"
Izuku's blood ran cold when he heard this. Prisoners and pirates never mixed well. A group of pirates came on stage, dragging along four large crosses with people tied to them. They looked beaten, battered, and weary.
"Oh no..." Yoichi said worryingly.
As the prisoners were brought to the center of the stage, Izuku's heart sank, his eyes widening with a mix of horror and disbelief. Their suffering seemed to please the pirates around him as they jeered and roared.
"These prisoners have been secretly promoting the ideals of Kozuki Oden! The dancing fool, the false shogun! As we all know, such actions are in line with treason against our beautiful land of Wano!" Orochi roared. The pirates booed loudly. Izuku didn't know who Oden was, and he didn't have time to ponder. Because suddenly, as if he appeared out of nowhere, a massive man appeared.
Horned, bulky, muscular. This man sneered down at the crowd. A sudden pressure fell on Izuku, making him quake. Every part of his body screamed at him to run, to escape, yet his brain couldn't send the signals necessary for such an action. This pressure was familiar, yet unfamiliar. It was similar to what he felt when he first saw All for One. A feeling of intense fear, one that inspired visions of death. And yet, while All for One seemed like an eldritch horror, Kaido was much different. It was the same feeling one would get if they were to look into the sky, and saw the sky was falling. A force of nature, an apocalypse in human form. Yet with his size easily towering over Orochi, Izuku wasn't even sure that he was human. He was sure of one thing here. If Orochi was only Shogun because Kaido made it possible, then this man, must be Kaido.
As the imposing figure known as Kaido made his presence known, a hushed silence fell over the crowd. Izuku felt a chill run down his spine, his heart pounding against his chest like a caged bird desperate to escape. The weight of the pirate's aura was suffocating, pressing down on him with an overwhelming intensity that threatened to crush his very spirit.
"My people." Kaido rumbled. "Our lord is a kind and fair shogun of this land. He has deemed it necessary to give these defiers a chance. They stand before you for your judgment. What is your verdict?"
"GUILTY!" The crowd roared. Something inside of Izuku changed, and he gritted his teeth.
"Then what should their retribution be? Mercy? Or justice?"
"JUSTICE!" The pirates roared. Izuku's fists tightened enough to nearly draw blood. Kaido sneered as he picked the crosses up, the scared and begging prisoners seeming like toys in his hands.
"Justice it shall be," he boomed. "Numbers!"
Something moved. Izuku's blood ran cold when he saw what moved. It was a giant, one that easily towered over the crowd. Even the bloodthirsty pirates seemed afraid. Izuku had never seen anything so big before. It dwarfed even Mt. Lady. To make matters worse, there were many of them, rising like nightmares from the depths.
The giant figures known as Numbers towered over the crowd, their immense size and brutish appearances casting a shadow of dread and fear upon the prisoners and onlookers alike. Their grotesque forms, hulking muscles bulging beneath tattered clothing, evoked a sense of primal terror that sent shivers down Izuku's spine. They lumbered forward, their steps shaking the very foundation of the stage, as if the ground itself quivered in fear of their wrath.
"Have a snack!" Kaido roared. Izuku's head snapped to attention and stared in shock. Surely he wouldn't!
Kaido hurled the prisoners one by one towards the giants. Screams of terror arose as the Numbers reached for them. Time seemed to slow as Izuku watched. But as he watched, he realized two things. One, his own scream was ripping out of his throat. Two, he was moving.
A shockwave blasted countless pirates away as Izuku rocketed into the air like a bolt of green lightning. But he didn't think, only acted. He held out his hand towards the prisoners, determined to save them.
"Black Whip!" He yelled. Tendrils of dark energy shot out of his hands.
As the tendrils of Black Whip shot out from Izuku's hands, a surge of adrenaline coursed through his veins, fueling his determination to save the prisoners from the clutches of the monstrous Numbers. His heart pounded in his chest, each beat echoing in his ears like a primal drum, as he focused all his energy on controlling the dark tendrils, directing them towards their intended targets. In a flurry of motion, the tendrils of Black Whip wrapped around the bodies of the prisoners, their cries of fear and despair replaced by a glimmer of hope. The air crackled with tension as the giant Numbers snarled and lunged towards Izuku, their massive frames causing the very ground beneath them to tremble. Izuku kicked off the air and rose high into the air, above their reach. He took a sigh of relief, before a sharp pain ran through his head.
'Danger Sense!' Izuku recognized the pain. As soon as he did, the pressure returned. He slowly looked down, and his eyes met Kaido's. The man was over a hundred meters below him, yet Izuku felt his presence as if he was right in front of him.
"Run Ninth!" Nana shouted. In a flash of green, Izuku shot into the distance, his body moving before he could even think. But though he was moving faster than others could see, Kaido's eyes followed his trail. The Emperor of the Sea bared his teeth in a sneer.
Izuku flew across the land before landing. He immediately tore apart the crosses, freeing the prisoners.
"Are you all okay?" He asked urgently.
"Yes, thank you, young man." The eldest coughed. He looked at Izuku worryingly. "You must flee this country! Kaido will kill you!"
"I'll be fine, don't worry. Do you have somewhere you can hide?" Izuku asked. As the prisoners gathered their wits and thanked Izuku for their rescue, their eyes brimming with gratitude and relief, Izuku couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment wash over him like a warm embrace on a cold winter's night. Helping people when he could, making a difference in their lives. This was why he chose to wield his power.
The elderly man nodded, his eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and concern. "Thank you, young man," he said, his voice quivering with emotion. "You have saved us from a fate worse than death. We owe you our lives. But please, heed my words. The wrath of Kaido knows no bounds."
Izuku turned his gaze towards the elderly man, the flickering torchlight casting dancing shadows across his wrinkled face. He could see the fear etched deeply into the lines of his features, the worry that lingered in his eyes like a storm brewing on the horizon. The weight of the man's gratitude and concern hung heavy in the air, as if it were a tangible force that threatened to engulf them all. Izuku stared at him before giving him his best smile.
"I am Izuku Midoriya. By my power, by my will, I promise I'll be fine. Just please focus on yourselves, and get to safety." Izuku said. The prisoners left, and Izuku sighed in relief.
As the last of the prisoners disappeared into the safety of the shadows, Izuku let out a long exhale, his muscles relaxing as the weight of the momentous rescue began to dissipate. The stillness of the night wrapped around him like a comforting embrace.
Suddenly, Danger Sense flared, and he heard a thud behind him. Izuku stilled. He didn't need to turn to know who was behind him. He slowly turned anyway, and he gazed up at Kaido. The man sneered down at him, a massive club in his hand. The man was massive, easily over 700 centimeters. He towered over the 166 centimeter Izuku. More than 4 times taller, and likely 10 times wider than him. Izuku never felt smaller in his life.
As Kaido loomed over him, a twisted grin etched upon his face, Izuku felt an overwhelming sense of dread consume him. The weight of the pirate's presence pressed heavily upon his chest, suffocating him with a mixture of fear and anticipation. His mind raced, desperately searching for a way out, but the enormity of his opponent's power was suffocating, leaving him feeling small and insignificant.
"Young man," Kaido boomed. Izuku gulped.
"You're bold to defy me. But boldness and foolishness are one in the same. Who are you? You are no Beast Pirate, despite your clothes," Kaido continued. Izuku took a breath. The prisoners filled his mind.
'I have to buy them time.' Izuku steeled himself, and his eyes were filled with his heroic spirit.
"I am Deku. I'm a hero from another world." He said with determination. Kaido laughed, his voice cruel and arrogant.
"An Otherworlder? That explains a lot." Kaido sneered again.
As Kaido's laughter echoed throughout the deserted streets of Wano, Izuku Midoriya felt a mix of determination and unease ripple through his veins. The weight of the pirate's gaze bore down upon him like a thousand daggers, each one piercing his resolve, threatening to shatter his spirit. Yet, beneath the fear that threatened to consume him, a flicker of unwavering determination burned brightly, urging him to stand his ground and face his formidable foe head-on.
"The consequence of such an action is punishable by death. Are you prepared to die?" Kaido boomed. Izuku took a slight stance.
"I hold the dreams of those who come before me. I have a mission passed down through generations. You won't kill me. I won't let you." He said firmly.
"Ah, you have steel. But that choice is only made by the stronger!" Kaido said. He lifted his club. "The weak perish!"
As Kaido's colossal club swung towards him with bone-crushing force, Izuku's instincts kicked in. Time seemed to slow down, each movement of the air molecules perceptible as the weight of Kaido's attack bore down upon him. The sheer power and velocity behind the swing threatened to obliterate him in an instant, but Izuku refused to succumb to despair.
His training kicked in. Izuku immediately dashed backwards and fired a Delaware Smash towards Kaido. The attack kicked up some dust, and Kaido watched as the dust settled. When it cleared, Izuku was back in his hero costume. The green cowl was pulled over his head, and the silver mask was in place. His eyes glowed as One for All activated, making him look like a demon. Kaido smirked at the sight.
"Cute costume, boy." Izuku didn't answer before charging forwards.
"20 Percent: St. Louis Smash!" He yelled as he threw the kick.
With a thunderous impact, Izuku's leg collided with Kaido's hulking form, the force of the blow reverberating through the air like a shockwave. Yet even with the immense force, Kaido didn't budge in the slightest. Instead, his grin only became wider. He lifted up his club and swung it at Izuku, who immediately kicked off and dodged it by a hair's width.
'Fast! So fast! It's a casual swing, but it's incredibly fast! And there's so much force behind it!' Izuku thought in shock.
Kaido's cruel laughter filled the air, reverberating through the quiet streets of Wano as Izuku evaded his bone-crushing swing. The Hero flipped mid-air and pushed off a stand, destroying it in an instant. He rocketed around Kaido, forming a green ring of lightning around him.
'This time, I'll aim for the back of his head!' Izuku thought as he shot forwards. He swung his foot again, and slammed it into the back of Kaido's skull. But yet again, the pirate didn't seem to even care. Kaido turned, pushing Izuku back. The Hero landed, and then dodged another swing of Kaido's club. Kaido laughed cruelly as he swung his weapon relentlessly. If it wasn't for Danger Sense, Izuku would likely be a green stain by now.
As Izuku dodged Kaido's relentless attacks, his mind raced with a flurry of thoughts and emotions. Fear gripped him, its icy fingers clutching at his heart, as he witnessed the sheer power and unyielding strength of his opponent. The weight of Kaido's presence hung heavy in the air, each swing of his colossal club like a thunderous clap that echoed through the depths of Izuku's soul.
'I have to go further!' he thought as he jumped back from another swing. He took a stance and powered up with a yell. The energy around him intensified.
"Full Cowling! 30 Percent!" he growled. He shot forwards and pulled his fist back, aiming for Kaido's chest.
"Detroit Smash!" he yelled as he threw his signature attack. Kaido held up his hand and blocked Izuku's fist, creating a small shockwave. Izuku's eyes widened as he witnessed this before narrowing his eyes.
'Further then!'
"45 Percent!" Izuku yelled. He swung his foot towards Kaido's wrist. "Kentucky Smash!"
His red iron covered shoe slammed into the giant man's wrist, but nothing happened. Kaido sneered at his stunned expression.
As Izuku's foot collided repeatedly with Kaido's unyielding wrist, a surge of frustration and disbelief coursed through him like a raging river. The sheer strength and resilience of his opponent defied all logic, leaving him feeling like a mere insect clinging to the edge of an abyss. The weight of his shattered expectations pressed heavily upon his shoulders, threatening to crush his spirit under its oppressive force.
"If you wish to defy me, you ought to use more than a measly 45% of your power!" Kaido roared as he hurled Izuku down the street. The Hero gritted his teeth as he collided with and created a crevice in the ground, kicking up dirt and rocks before managing to push off and land on his feet.
"Black Whip!" Izuku yelled as he fired the tendrils of energy and used them to yank himself towards Kaido.
As Izuku's tendrils of Black Whip lashed out, intertwining around Kaido's massive frame, a mix of determination and desperation flooded his veins. The electric energy crackled through his fingertips, the raw power of One For All surging within him like a tempestuous storm. With each strike, he hoped to find a weakness, a vulnerability that would allow him to gain the upper hand. Yet Kaido didn't seem to have any weak points. Danger Sense flared again, making him jump back to dodge another swing from Kaido's club. The Pirate sneered as he stomped forwards.
"You dare defy my will when your fist is weak?!" Kaido demanded. Izuku gritted his teeth. He began pumping his fists up and down, making Kaido frown in confusion.
As Izuku's fists pumped up and down, a surge of determination coursed through his veins, his muscles tightening with the weight of his resolve. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, glistening under the moonlit sky, as he focused every ounce of his being on finding a way to overcome the seemingly insurmountable obstacle that stood before him. Kaido, his face a mask of confusion, narrowed his eyes, his brow furrowing in contemplation.
"You want my power? I'll give it to you!" Izuku growled as he felt energy build up inside of him until it was ready to explode. He dashed forwards again, this time shooting past Kaido and using Black Whip to catch himself and yank himself towards the Pirate's back. He raised his leg up high and brought it down.
"Faux 100 Percent: Manchester Smash!" Izuku yelled as he slammed the axe-kick into Kaido's head. The shockwave of the attack shook the entire street, and even shook parts of the city.
As the shockwave of Izuku's Manchester Smash reverberated through the streets of Wano, an eerie silence descended upon the scene. The air seemed to crackle with anticipation, the very fabric of reality holding its breath in anticipation of what was to come.
Suddenly, Izuku was flung out of the smoke, gritting his teeth. Kaido's laugh roared from within as he cleared the smoke with a swipe of his hand. Izuku staggered back, his body protesting against the immense force of Kaido's counterattack. Pain radiated through his hurt leg, pulsating like venomous tendrils that threatened to consume his every thought. As he struggled to regain his footing, his mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions—fear, frustration, and a profound sense of loss.
'He took on a 100 Percent attack?! What is he?!' Izuku thought in fear.
"Nine, you need to run." Yoichi urged the young hero. Kaido laughed as he approached, swinging his club around, carefree.
"So, you do have some power, hm? But if that's all you have, then I suggest you leave the New World, and stick to the Four Seas. Perhaps the East Blue? It's the weakest of them. Perfect for you!" Kaido suggested mockingly. Izuku gritted his teeth as he toughed out the pain in his leg.
'Second, do you think it's smart for me to use Gear Shift?' he thought.
"No, he's too strong, and using Gear Shift will leave you good as dead. You have to run, now." The Second user immediately answered. Izuku grimaced as he realized the gravity of the situation.
Izuku's heart pounded in his chest as he weighed his options. The pain in his leg served as a reminder of the overwhelming power that Kaido possessed. Yoichi's words echoed in his mind, urging him to flee, to abandon this futile battle. He knew that there was much that he still had to do. Izuku gritted his teeth and crouched over. He hurled himself into the air like a rocket, becoming a dot in the horizon. Kaido watched him with a grunt.
"Brat... Did I say you can run?!" The man growled. Izuku's eyes widened. One moment, Kaido was on the ground, and Izuku was hundreds of meters above him. Next, Kaido's massive frame was above him.
Danger Sense screamed as the Vestiges shouted in shock. Black Whip and One for All surged to life around him and formed a protective shield as Kaido's open hand slammed down on them. Izuku coughed up blood as he was spiked downwards, slamming into the ground with enough force to wipe out the entire town with the shockwave, leaving only a crater.
Gasping for air, Izuku slowly pushed himself up from the shattered ruins of the town square. Pain seared through his body, each movement sending jolts of agony coursing through his veins. Blood trickled down his forehead, mixing with the dirt and grime that stained his face. Kaido landed nearby, drawing Izuku's attention immediately. Kaido sneered as he slowly approached, Izuku struggling to get up.
"Dammit! Looks like you're fighting after all!" Daigoro said as Izuku put up his dukes. Kaido sneered at the fruitless effort.
'If that's the case, I have to try to end it in one single blow!' Izuku thought. He couldn't withstand too much battle damage if a single slap could reduce him to this state. One for All flared to life around him.
"Nine, you have one chance at this. Right now, his guard is down. He doesn't need it, you're not a threat." En said to him.
"Use my power, now!" the Second urged.
Izuku's body ached as he struggled to stay on his feet, his trembling legs threatening to give way beneath him. Blood stained the ground beneath him, a stark reminder of the brutal battle that had taken place. He glanced up at Kaido, his eyes filled with a mix of determination and desperation. Yet as energy continued to flare around him, he stood his ground. With a roar of effort, Izuku activated One for All at full power, and then activated Gear Shift. His energy took on a more flame-like appearance, emerging from his eyes and his hands.
"More tricks, brat? Fine! Entertain me!" Kaido challenged, his arms and guard wide open. Izuku grabbed his shoulder and began rotating his arm, growing increasingly faster to charge up Fa Jin.
Izuku's muscles screamed in protest as he continued to rotate his arm, a vortex of power building up within him. Beads of sweat dripped down his brow, his heartbeat thundering in his ears, drowning out all other sounds. With each rotation, his determination grew stronger, his resolve solidifying like steel. He knew that this would be his only chance to overcome the seemingly invincible wall that was Kaido.
'One for All, 100 Percent! Plus Fa Jin, Faux 100! And Gear Shift! Overdrive!' Izuku suddenly dashed forwards and appeared right at Kaido's feet. The Emperor looked down in surprise.
'He's faster!'
"One Million Percent! United States of Smash, Plus ULTRAAAAA!" Izuku roared as he hurtled himself upwards. The power in his hand was power that he never could've imagined, even when he gained access to all of the Vestiges' Quirks. One for All, a power developed over nine generations, pushed to its limits and then some. Fa Jin, a Quirk that was now unleashing force equal to One for All's full power. Gear Shift, his last resort pushing itself to add 120% of his power on its own. All was held within his fist.
With a roar that echoed like a hurricane, Izuku slammed the powerful uppercut directly on Kaido's chin. The Land of Wano trembled under the weight of Izuku's powerful United States of Smash as an emerald light erupted from the impact, creating a vortex of awe-inspiring brilliance that pierced through the clouds above. The shockwave reverberated through the air, a symphony of destruction and chaos that echoed into the very recesses of Wano. Dust and debris billowed outwards, obscuring the scene and casting an ethereal haze across the landscape.
And in the middle of it all, Kaido, the Emperor of the Seas, struck with all of Izuku's power and then some...
Took a single step back.
Kaido grunted as he felt his chin. A small bruise had begun to form. Kaido blinked, the flicker of surprise crossing his eyes as he examined the faint bruise forming on his chin. The raw power that Izuku had unleashed had managed to leave a mark, however small it may be. It was a testament to the sheer strength and determination that burned within the young hero's heart.
A slow, wicked grin spread across Kaido's face, revealing a set of teeth that gleamed in the moonlight. Finally, a hint that this brat was worth something. Yet the grin disappeared when he realized that he was alone. He looked around him. Izuku was gone.
As Kaido stood there, the echo of Izuku's attack still resonating in the air, a mixture of confusion and rage flickered across his eyes. He grinded his teeth, before throwing back his head and roaring with laughter and anger.
"Fine then, brat! You want to run! Go right ahead! You finally earned it! Come back when you're actually strong enough to challenge me properly!" Kaido roared into the air before turning and walking away. He had a concert to attend after all.
Miles above the Land of Wano, Izuku stared numbly down. He could see the hole he left in the clouds. He could see the destruction he left. But he knew that all his efforts were in vain. For as powerful as his attack was, the moment it struck, he knew it was useless.
Once during his training to wield One for All, he took a chance to try to gauge his own strength by punching a wall. As he was still weak and skinny at the time, the wall did more damage to him than he did. Under his fist, it felt unbreakable. Unmovable. Impossible to destroy. When he punched Kaido, that exact feeling was felt again. Even with all of his power, power that he didn't know he even had, Kaido was still invulnerable. Now, his arm dangled, shattered, useless. He couldn't even feel the pain. He knew it was there, but the damage was so severe he couldn't process it.
As Izuku hung in the air, his broken arm limp and useless, a myriad of thoughts flooded his mind. The pain radiating from his shattered limb was nothing compared to the deep-seated disappointment that gnawed at his heart. He had given everything he had, unleashed the full force of his power, only to be met with an indomitable wall of invulnerability.
"Izuku, we know how you feel. It's the same pain we felt until Toshinori defeated All for One the first time. For now, you have to run. Survive. We won't be able to do anything if you don't have a chance to recover. You can't save people if you're broken," Nana urged him. Izuku nodded numbly as he began moving away.
"Go higher, take deep breaths. If we reach high enough, we'll reach the section of the atmosphere that has winds that result from the planet turning. They can go up to 440 kilometers per hour." Yoichi suggested. Izuku nodded again as he flew higher.
As Izuku soared through the sky, his broken arm hanging limply by his side, he couldn't help but feel a surge of frustration and disappointment coursing through his veins. The pain, both physical and emotional, weighed heavily on his shoulders, threatening to consume him. Each beat of his heart echoed in his ears, a constant reminder of his current predicament. The sky stretched out before him, an endless expanse of vibrant colors and swirling clouds.
And yet, within him, something burned. Something within his spirit was stirring, and something within his mind was developing. He gritted his teeth, nearly snarling like an animal. Something was telling him that he had shamed himself by losing. That he had to regain his honor. It was a strange feeling. He never cared much for losing before. Yet something about this encounter, perhaps this world, is making him feel more primal.
As Izuku flew, he uttered a single vow. A single promise that no one but himself and the souls in his mind heard. Yet, below, Kaido smirked as he sensed a future encounter will truly change his life.
"Emperor Kaido of this world, of this Sea. I, Izuku Midoriya, will return. And I will take. You. Down."
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of most of what surrounded the Beast Pirates. I might've taken too much inspiration from Heroes of the New World (G.O.A. fanfic by the way, it's so good) when writing it. But I do feel proud of how I wrote Izuku and Kaido's fight. Kaido is gonna be a pretty big character for Izuku, since he's my favorite antagonist of One Piece so far, at least excluding either Crocodile or Doflamingo. I really wanted to capture the presence he would have, and just how he compared to Izuku.
And now, Izuku is becoming more primal. But why? We'll just have to see. And we will also see many other faces appear. But for now, that's gonna be the end of this chapter. As per the usual, leave a review! Azure out!
