I look at the sunset, standing at one side of the ship. The Polar Tang is just about to dock at an island, and in the distance, I can spot a Ferris Wheel. An amusement park? I think. Maybe I can go there with some of the crew later… The ship docks and after Law gives some orders, I walk off and head to the park. It's pretty close to the ship, and within 15 minutes, I'm standing at the entrance. I walk up the ticket booth, and the person manning it greets me.

"Hi!" I say. "How much to enter?"

"500 berries."

Just as I am about to hand them the money, I see a tattooed hand push mine aside and hand the person a thousand berries. I look to my right to see my captain, Law. The person thanks him and Law steers me towards the park. I look at him, smiling slightly. "Law. When did you get here?"

"I followed you off of the ship. You shouldn't be going off on your own, Ren-ya."

I laugh, punching him playfully in the arm. He doesn't react. "I can take care of myself, you know."

He doesn't say anything. I point at a ring tossing stand. "Let's go over there first." I start off in that direction without waiting for him to respond. At the stand, the operator tells me the rules and I pick up the rings and start tossing. I make all of the throws, and the operator scowls before handing me a prize. I cheer, grinning and looking at Law. He has an amused expression on his face, and he raises a brow at my oversized stuffed animal. "Are you really going to carry that around this park?"

I frown. "So what if I am?"

He shrugs and turns around, starting for another game. But before he turns, I could have sworn I'd seen him smile.

Law and I had walked all over the park, doing all the games and rides they have. Now, it's night, and there are lights hung all around. The Ferris Wheel had donned a new look, glimmering in the evening dark with a spectrum of colors. The wheel is the only thing that we hadn't been on, and we walk that way now. Despite being pretty uptight when we got to the park, Law had loosened up since then, and I'd seen him smile many more times. Maybe he's even enjoying himself, I think. Not long after, we get on the Ferris Wheel, and the ride starts taking us up into the air. I look out of the window, the lights looking like faraway stars as the ride reaches its climax and the park spreads out below, so far down. "It's a pretty view, isn't it?" I hear Law's deep voice from beside me, and I look to see that he's joined me on my seat.

"Its just so amazing. The world that we walk in on the ground that seems so big becomes so tiny once you get high enough in the air."

He nods, and seems to study me with an unreadable gaze. I meet his eyes, and for a moment we share an electrifying gaze. All too soon, I look away, a slight blush rising. What was that..? I sneak a glance at Law, and to my utter surprise his cheeks are dusted a light pink. I had always felt some way for him, but I knew it wasn't possible for him to return my feelings. He was my captain, after all. It was unheard of, and yet… My heart couldn't help but beat a little faster when he was around, my breath couldn't help but come a little faster whenever he looked at me. But for him to possibly feel the same? Impossible, I think.

Later, Law and I walk back to the ship in silence. The rest of the Ferris Wheel ride had gone the same, and I'm now pretty tired and ready to flop onto my bed and reminisce about my day with Law. On the ship, I make a beeline to my quarters and lay down. But I can't seem to get my mind to rest, my thoughts dashing about my mind, only on one person: Trafalgar Law. All of a sudden I get an idea, a reckless idea, but once it enters the flurry of thoughts I can't dismiss it. Without sparing another second to doubt myself, I stand up and walk decisively to the captain's quarters. I knock lightly on the door. Faintly, from the other side, I hear Law say, "Come in." I push the door open and step inside. He looks up. His hair is mussed, and his eyes have a tired look to them. Before him, on his desk, a book is wide open, likely something medicine related. I flush slightly. Maybe I shouldn't have come, I think.

"Ren-ya," he says. "What do you need?"

I swallow. "Well…" I walk a little closer until I'm standing before his desk. His eyes meet mine and as always, my breath becomes shallow.

"Law, I…" I break his gaze, unable to look at him, instead averting my eyes to the mahogany wood of the desk.

"I have feelings for you. I… I love you." I say the words as fast as possible, those words that had danced in the back of my mind for so long now. He doesn't say anything, and the silence is too much for me to bear. "I know you could never return my feelings, after all, you're the captain, but-"

All of a sudden Law is no longer sitting, and I turn around to see him standing before me. "Y/N-ya. I feel the same way."

My eyes widen, and I blink at him, dumbfounded. "…What?"

He puts a hand on my waist, tugging me closer until my body is flush against his. He leans in until his forehead rests against mine. My heart beats fervently, and I'm surprised it doesn't leap out of my chest. There's no way this is happening, I think. No way… All of a sudden, Law sighs, closing his eyes. "I shouldn't be doing this…" he mutters. Despite his words, I feel his hand cup my cheek, and he strokes it with his thumb.

"Why?" My voice comes out quiet.

He's silent for a moment. "I'm the captain. It's improper. And yet…" He opens his eyes again, and as they lock with mine I can see desire in his eyes. "I just can't keep myself away from you," he breathes, and presses his lips firmly against mine. My eyes flutter shut and I brace my hands against his chest as he kisses me passionately, like he'll never get to hold me again. All too soon, we break apart and I look into his eyes, both of your breathing ragged. Then he kisses me one more time, gently, sweetly, as if he remembers that he has all the time in the world. "I love you too, Y/N-ya," he says.
