Power.
An insurmountable facet spanning all of existence. It has many names, many meanings, and many uses throughout each world- each universe- it inhabits. It allows anyone who possesses it to do anything they can imagine. Whatever they desire will be theirs. For those with rather twisted and selfish desires, that power becomes malignant and corrupt. But for those with selfless and righteous intentions, that power can transform them into something incredible; something that can withstand any hardship without faltering.
Those ideals inevitably clash, as hearts of evil seek only pure domination of what they desire most. Likewise, those simple, pure-hearted souls stand to defend all they love from destruction. There have been many battles throughout many worlds, but one such world drifting along the cosmos has seen its fair share of the war between good and evil. The name of this world: Earth.
Thousands of years ago, the evil sorceress Rita Repulsa swept a wave of destruction throughout the galaxy, claiming planets and subjugating civilizations in the name of universal conquest. It was only thanks to the interdimensional being known as Zordon that the witch's rampage was brought to a halt, but the wise sage now lies forever trapped in a time warp, unable to act if evil returns.
And return it has. Ten thousand years later, Rita Repulsa escaped confinement and set her sights on Earth, wishing to start her conquest anew. Knowing the planet and its people were helpless against her, Zordon sought out great potential and found that in unlikely beings: adolescents of Earth's native populace. Though young and inexperienced, they were selfless, focused, and driven to do what was right.
Bold and powerful. Patient and wise. Clever and brave. Fearless and agile. Graceful and smart. Gathering the young beings full of heart, Zordon gave them the means to fight back against the invasion. It was then the chosen warriors were forever changed and became a formidable fighting force known to one and all as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Time and again, the Power Rangers have driven back Rita's army of evil space aliens, including an enemy redeemed and renewed. But now, a new struggle is about to dawn on the defenders of Earth; a struggle that will put the very concept of power- and what one does with it- to the test…

If one were to look at the sky, one would see the vastness of the universe. Hundreds of stars dotted the black sky, the light from distant celestial bodies on full display. Among them rested a pale circle, its beauty tainted by one half completely shattered, the pieces floating within the moon's gravitational field. The sight of the smashed moon was already enough to draw attention, so imagine- if you will- one's surprise should they notice that some of the many stars accompanying it looked nothing like the white specks of light.
Then imagine their confusion when those colored stars appeared to grow bigger and brighter in the night sky. Imagine their shock should they come to a startling conclusion that these lights resembled comets more than stars. Six streaks of light fell to the planet below, trailed by arcs of lightning that scattered and broke apart, just as the streaks separated like a fleeing flock of birds.
If one bothered to notice the spectacle if they were not welcomed by sleep, they would have been partly amazed and partly curious as light filled the sky. The green comet drifted off, flying to parts unknown until it could no longer be seen. To those who would have witnessed it, it would be perceived as either a trick of the light or a reason to return to bed. But what would occur next would be no illusion.
The red trail of light descended low over the trees until it made planetfall in a spectacular blast of light and energy, loud enough to arouse those who had not fallen into deep unconsciousness. The planet shook from the impact, sending wildlife fleeing in every direction and natural structures quaking with the surface. Smoke arose from the wound punctured into the planet, effectively shrouding the mysterious fallen object from prying eyes.
The blue streak of light flew far away from its partner, its projected point of impact a sheer blanket of white. The powder sprayed skyward as a reaction to the landing, flying as high as a geyser before sinking back down in flakes. Amongst the tranquil field of snow, only the touched area remained disturbed and unkempt while the last of the sapphire lightning was quick to fizzle out like a fire.
The purple comet sailed for a large continent covered in jungle, uncaring of whatever it touched during its descent. The ground trembled and the air shook with explosive force, upturning stone and sending animals dashing away in a mad panic. The black smoke wafted into the dark sky, almost invisible to the eye as it joined in with the others.
The yellow star shot for a small island off the coast of that continent, sailing for its target like an arrow toward a bullseye. Its aim hit true with great force, powerful enough to disturb the sea that surrounded the landmass. The geyser of smoke trailed into the sky, indicating the point of impact to the world.
The pink flash made itself known to the world when it crashed down in a separate forest filled with trees the color of autumn. Any plant life unfortunate enough to find itself in the resulting blast was either uprooted, vaporized, or blown away. Several trees toppled over and smashed against the ground, their natural splendor ruined in an instant as their leaves fluttered to the ground. From the darkness, this particular event did not go unnoticed. Gleaming red eyes glared at the rising smoke; eyes that burned with sheer hatred amongst low, animalistic growls.
This night would be the last normal night this planet had seen, for when the sun rises the following day, this world will discover that it has been set as the next stage.
