Prologue

This is the story of four brother, who fell through the worlds, they awoke two together, in a forest of the purest green, doomed to be separated. Two cast adrift over vast seas, destined to be reunited. One in a land of sand, the other of snow. Drawn back together by a Beacon, all four would travel this world, and ever after before moving on to find their real enemy. They would help and hurt along the way. Experience love and loss, pain and tribulation, but they would have to learn that falling is just raising in a different direction.

Damien POV

The sound of children laughing lights up the area, the twilight of the setting sun illuminating a fairs wheel as they turn on the lights for the oncoming night, Dimitri is currently hunched over a trash can vomiting his cotton candy up. "God Dim you forget to take your medicine again?" Dominic asks pulling a pill bottle out of his pocket and shaking one out.

"No I did, I should've took two though with all the adrenaline spikes," he smiles sheepishly before throwing his medication down his throat and smiling. "Lets go on the Spinner Spinner Chicken Dinner next," he exclaims pointing at the chicken themed spinner ride. I chuckle a little.

"Sure Dim, but spin ours slow ok? Then we'll get you a snack after so you don't crash," I tell him.

"I'm gonna spin it fast," I hear him mumble. I know my doting annoys him. But I'm nowhere near Dom's level of protectiveness over his twin.

"Wow it's getting dark quick," Deadric comments through his greasy fair hot dog.

I notice the shadows are gone and it looks like full night has set, "This fast?," I look up to see the sun being eaten, and glowing red eyes as the sun disappears behind a wide smile that only makes the Cheshire cat jump to mind. An impact shakes the ground and I'm in blackness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm floating, it's nice, no worries, no cares. Just peace and floating….
"dame," a quiet voice buzzes in my ear, somethings wrong with the tone. No leave me alone, Let me just be here, existing, just for a minute?
"Dame," the voice is louder this time, my brain starts buzzing more, telling me to wake up, somethings bad and they need me. Can't I just take care of it later?
"DAMIEN!" Dominic's voice finally snaps me awake, I pull my eyes open to see his blond white hair whipping around his face. Twisted into a grimace his grip held tight onto a pole as I see the streets being lifted into the air behind him. Broken concrete and shattered steel being ripped from their place and drifting into a black void above that had replaced the inky blue black of the twilight.
I look behind me to see another void pulling me down and seemingly my brothers with it as Dimitri is visible, holding onto Deadric's leg, the former latched onto a fire hydrant. Though nothing else is being pulled into the void below, and we seem to be immune to the gravity of the mass above. "CAN YOU MAKE IT TO DEAD AND DIM!" I scream over all the chaos. He looks over and judges the distance, its about an 8 foot gap between the hydrant and the pole with nothing else to grab onto. He shakes his head his face turning grimmer by the second, the street slowly crumbling to our location.
We lock eyes, his brown to my blue, we nod knowing what to do, we start to pull each other, its harder for me as him and Deadric are the strongest, but after a few excruciating seconds my other hand latches onto the street lamp. "You're gonna hate me for my next idea," I state bluntly.
"Dude I'm down for whatever," he responds a small smile returning to his face. I tell him to wrap his legs around the pole. "Kinky but not the time for a pole dance Dame." I side eye him and he rolls his eyes but complies. I do my best to remove my shoelaces, its a struggle but I manage to get them both and get them lashed together. I get one end tied to my wrist and the other a slipknot loop. I'm 5'11 and now I have three more feet of reach.\
"DAME WHATEVER YOU'RE PLANNING HURRY THE FUCK UP…. PLEASE!" Dimitri yells and I look to see why, the street is almost to us and breaking apart more quickly. I yell back for Deadric to get in the same position as Dominic with his legs around the hydrant and he looks at me like I'm insane, I just shrug at him but Dimitri has already begun moving, clawing his way up Dead's leg until their hands interlock and gets pulled to the hydrant where he locks on for dear life. God their gonna hate me, but whatever is down has to be better than up right?
I instruct them to hold Dimitri by the legs and stretch as far as possible, and I'd do the same with Dominic then throw the lace to Dimitri. The look on everyone's face is skeptical but it's our only shot to as lest go wherever we were gonna go together. So I hand Dom a leg, he took off his belt at some point and after using that to secure my leg to his forearm I give in to the weightlessness and drift towards the void below. My adrenaline skyrocketing I feel my brother catch my weight and I sigh and lock my gaze towards Dimitri who is now dangling over the void as I am. "Dimi..." His hetero chromic eyes lock on mine, hazy with tears about to fall, "It's going to be okay as long as we're together! Okay?"
He dry swallows and nods his eyes not leaving mine now. Him being the youngest I can only imagine whats going through his head right now. But its my job to take care of him, of all of them. I throw the lace. He fumbles and misses the first throw, "COME ON DIM!" Deadric snarls his grip starting to loosen, Dimitri yelps as he slips a few inches closer. I take the opportunity to throw the string again and it somehow catches around his finger. He grabs the bulk of the string and my heart stops skipping beats, I'm surprised considering the circumstances. We both pull the string until we're able to grab the others hands, then fore arms. I lock my grip as tight as possible.
"NOW GUYS! LET GO!" I yell closing my eyes, I hear a small sob escape Dimitri as I feel Dominic let go of the pole.
"WAIT WHAT!" Deadric screams and holds the three of us for about five seconds before his legs give their grip and we're all weightless and being pull towards the oblivion below.
"Up up and away boys!" Dominic yells adding a WHOOOOOOO! At the end.
I open my eyes, we're falling at a consistent speed no increase, I look up and see the opening of the void getting smaller and smaller. I feel Dom undo the belt and start to readjust us, his arm now around my waist he takes the string from me and ties it around his twins and his arms almost cutting off circulation. They share a smile as Deadric starts to pull us so we're in a flower/hug like formation.
"What now?" Deadric asks softly in he quiet of the void around us as we continue falling.
"I honestly don't know," I whisper back. "I don' even remember what happened," I admit. The last thing I remember is all four of us deciding to go out to the little fair that was in town, Dimitri had been looking forward to it and insisted we make it a brothers night because I had been busy with exams and college applications lately.
"I remember bits and pieces of the fair, but when I woke up and Dead was already pulling me towards the hydrant." Dimitri explains.
"I came too and Dame was already almost in here before the rest of us. I couldn't let big brother get a head start now could I," Dominic smirks at me.
"Similar here, I saw Dim was being pulled towards this thing and we was far enough away to where I was able to grab him and shuffle us to the hydrant. Why was we being pulled here and everything else to that black hole?" Dominic states and looks to me. I shake my head not knowing the answer.
We're quite for about a minute before a sniffle from Dimitri brings us out of our thoughts, "Mom and Dad… Their probably..."
"We don't know that," Dominic snaps with a light tone, "We didn't see what happened to anyone else, so they might just be like us right now. And no matter what," he looks to us and we nod.
"We're together, and alive, that's what they would want the most," I whisper and sigh going back into my thoughts as we fall. I'll try to keep track of the time passing, with no back round its hard to track rate of decent, acceleration, ect. But at least I can count.
Three minutes and 10 seconds into our fall Dominic again breaks the silence. "We're getting faster, I feel my hair tugging harder."
"My cloths are pressing tighter too," Deadric confirms his ponytail whipping furiously.
"Guys, whats that sound?" Dimitri asks and I hear a whiz then I'm back into the darkness of sleep.
This isnt like before where I was concussed, this was a straight blow to the head and I slowly come too what I guess is only about a minute later, we're falling faster than before, I only hear harsh breathing combined with my own and Deadric's soft cursing. "Wha?" Is all my groggy brain can get out.
"I lost them…." He chokes out, I notice hes fully wrapped around me shielding me from more impacts and keeping me close. I nod and try to stay awake but I keep drifting.
"Hold on Dame, there's sky up ahead….." Sound finally comes back in the form of wind. "This is bad, really bad….." I fade in enough to look up and see stars, constellations I don't recognize. I look down and an ocean of trees with no water in sight makes me start to fade out again from shock. We're all dead and I couldn't do a thing to stop it. "We'll live..." I feel Deadric's heartbeat speed up, "I'll protect you, we'll live and find the others!" The whistling of the wind through the gaps of his arms gets even louder as we hit terminal velocity, "Just hold on Dame, this landings going to be bumpy…. I JUST WISH I HAD A SHIELD!" I open my eyes one final time to see a soft orange glow spreading across us, a twist tells me that impact is about to happen. I finally see a shattered moon.
"You've got to be kidding me?" I ask seemly no one but I envision those red eyes and the smile that ate the sun as the sound of glass shattering over and over and the rocking of the impacts lulls me to sleep.
