"Demon, Dragon, Thu'um or Boss Talk"
Outside of OCs, I do not own Skyrim or Warhammer fantasy, they belong to Bethesda and Game Workshop, respectively.
For what felt like days the two mighty titans battled, destroying the once serene scene of Sovngarde. There in the afterlife of the mighty Nord heroes, the Last Dragonborn battle against the Alduin, The World-Eater. The Dragonborn enchanted armor, dampening both the physical and magical blows dealt upon its wearer by the Firstborn. In return, the mighty black scales reflect powerful Thu'ums and magical attacks of the Dragonborn.
With a powerful swipe, Alduin's wing claw collides with the Dragonborn, sending him flying across the field. His body smashed into a nearby boulder, causing it to crack from the impact. Blood splatters from his mouth, as his body slides down on the ground, with a slight thump. The Dragonborn has little time for respite, as the Firstborn of Akatosh, reels back its head to unleash an attack.
"Yol Toor Shul!" (Fire Inferno Sun)
A stream of white-hot fire spew forth from the black dragon, brightening up the skies as if a second Sun had appeared. And it was headed straight towards the down warrior. Without thinking and caring about the pain, the Dragonborn unleashes his own Thu'um.
"FUS RO DAH!" (Force Balance Push)
From the small form of the warrior, came an unrelenting wave of force, that seem to bend the space around it. The two powerful attacks met halfway, colliding and causing a blinding explosion, that not only blinded the two fighters but burnt and push them around. The aftermath of the explosion was a blacken and destroyed environment. Where the scenery was once calm, serene, and even beautiful. Now was a charred and chaotic battleground.
With a mighty heave, the warrior pulled himself up from under the debris that fell upon him. Once standing, he took a second to appraise his status, his once illustrious ebony armor, was now dull and covered in dirt and grime. And his Ivory Dragonplate shield was charred and broken in half.
"Hmmph." Dropping his shield, he reaches back and grasps his war axe. Bringing it forward, he pushed his mana into it, causing the edge of the axe to turn red-hot and flickers of fire flowing off it. At the sound of rubble shifting, the warrior looked up and the black dragon pull itself free from the destroyed temple it land on. "Hm... He's grown bigger." The Dragonborn thought, and true to his thought the Firstborn of Akatosh was almost 3 times bigger than he was in the living world. Not that it matters much. The Dragonborn was still going to take his soul.
Planting his foot, the warrior pushed forward making a mad dash for the downed dragon. Sensing the incoming presence, Alduin's head spun in the Dragonborn direction, its hate-filled eyes locking in on him. Rearing its head back, it unleashed multiple fireballs.
"Yol..Yol..Yol" (Fire)
"Yol"
"Yol"
Without hesitation or missing a step, the Dragonborn unleashed his own shout, "Wuld Nah!" The winds magically increased his speed enough, to bulldoze through the multiple fireballs. Thus allowing his to appear above the Dragon's head, and with a mighty swing, brought down his fire-enchanted war axe onto the beast's right eye with a sickening cracked, followed by a loud squelching sound.
"ROOAAAAHHHHH! Alduin swung his head wildly and randomly, as a burning sensation throughout his jaw and head. With another mighty swing, he sent the Dragonborn flying, axe, and everything.
Dur hi Dovahkiin! Zu'u fen ag hin slen ahrk kipraan nau hin sil!"
(Curse you Dragonborn! I will burn your flesh and feast on your soul!
Alduin raged at the thought of this insignificant worm, has not only been delaying and sabotaging his plans. But has matched him in power and took his right eye. The rage within him was demanding to be let loose upon the worm and the world.
CRACK
Again his landing was "soften" by a random boulder, lucky him. Though it brought a painful smile to his face when heard the Dragon rage at the wound he dealt. Now if only he could kill the damn black lizard. Standing back up, the Dragonborn spit out a glob of blood and popped his shoulder back into place. And charged at the towering beast before.
Alduin, seeing the charge, allowed his rage to take over again, and reciprocate the action. With a speed belying his size, Alduin was upon the Dragonborn in seconds, snapping his jaws at him.
Fiem Zil Gron!" (Fade Spirit Bind)
The Dragonborn's physical form lost its material, granting spirit-like form, which granted protection from the Dragon's bite. After passing through the jaws unharmed, he returns to his physical form, swinging Dragonbane down onto its neck. Sparks of electricity shoot out as they bite into the flesh. Ignoring the pain, Alduin's wing hand grabbed the Dragon slayer, causing him to lose hold of the sword. In one swift move, Alduin slammed the Dragonborn down into the ground, causing a crater to form in the ground. Lucky for the slayer his armor absorbed most of the damage. Alduin brought its arm up for another body slam.
"Fiem!"
For a second, the slayer form faded back into a spirit form, before returning to its physical one. Gripping his axe with both hands, he brought it down onto the Dragon's wing, where it pierced the wing's membrane. As gravity took effect on the slayer pulling him downward, the axe tore through the Dragon's wing unleashing a fountain of blood
"RRAAAARRRGGGGGHHHHH!"
The mighty Black Dragon roared in agony at the first truly devastating wound it had to acquire in its endless battle. As the Dragon slayer landed on the ground, he was unprepared for the sudden tail whip he received from the dragon. The world seemed to blur for a second, before returning to normal as the slayer crashed into distant trees that somehow remain standing. As the slayer lay in the new crater his form created upon landing, his body felt numb with pain. Everything hurt, and he was pretty sure that several ribs were broken and his spine had a fracture, it felt weaker. Unfortunately, he also saw that the ground was rumbling as an enraged Dragon god was hobbling its way toward him.
"One more time." The worn-out warrior thought, struggling to raise his body.
"Hun Kaal!" The Dragonborn struggles to cry out, just as Alduin reaches him, maws agape ready to devour its most hated enemy. Then suddenly an ethereal form slammed into its side, sending it tumbling away from the down warrior. A glowing ethereal hand reaches down toward the wounded Dragonborn, causing him to look up. And there standing in front of him was Felldir the Old. Wearing the same robes as the Graybeards, and wielding a Nord Great sword. The older Nord smiles down upon the last Dragonborn.
"Took you long enough to summon us." Observing the tired warrior strain to stand and regain his wind. He turns away to watch the battle between his friend and the Black Dragon.
"Unfortunately, you couldn't summon all of us. Hopefully, the three of us will be enough."
After saying that, the first ethereal being that appeared, had flown back towards them, landing nearby. A loud grunt could be heard from the small crater, and a tall Nordic woman with blond hair in a set of Steel Plate armor, in one hand was a steel shield that had been enchanted and an Ancient Nord sword. With a ferocious grin and battle-craze eyes, this was none other than Gormalith Golden-Hilt.
"Well met Dragonborn." She flashes a smile toward the slayer, maintaining her attention on Alduin. Rising to his feet, the dragon slayer towered over the two, giving them an appreciative nod.
"Drem Yol Lok, to both of you." A deep, baritone growled out from the Dragonborn's ebony helm. With greetings aside, the three faces Alduin, determination they charge toward wound Dragon, weapons held high.
"Fus Ro!" Felldir shouted, countering Alduin's wing swipe, causing the dragon to stumble backward. Cumulatively, Gormalith leap forward and jammed her sword into his leg. From there she pushed the sword downward, causing a massive gash to appear. She rolled out of the way of the Dragon's weak attempt at a kick. Due to his awkward position of laying on a good wing, the Dragonborn retrieves Dragonbane and unleashes a spin attack on the underside of the Dragon. Further wounding the great lizard, and to ensure the dragon was done, they all unleash their own thu'um.
"Yol Toor Shul!" A steady stream of fire spewed from the elderly warrior, further cauterizing the wounds on the dragon
"Strun Su Suleyk!" A torrent of lightning arch itself from the Gormalith form, scorching Alduin's wounded wing, causing the wing to twitch violently.
"Fus Ro Dah!" The last Dragonborn's attack blasted the wound god further away from them.
Alduin attempted to raise himself but weakly fall back down. His crimson eyes shining with malice and rage, lose the light, and for a moment it seems like they finally finish off the World-Eater.
Unfortunately, for the three heroes, Alduin was not one to go quietly. And with a mighty roar, that ripple throughout the afterlife. Causing both the ground and air to literally ripple against the might of the World-Eater's shout.
"Qahnaar Wunduniik Zeim!"
For a second there was nothing, then a massive tear in space appeared behind Alduin, that began to suck everything around into itself.
"Hold on to something," Felldir shouted as the three heroes planted themselves on the ground, by plunging their respective weapons into the ground. Alduin's broken body was dragged into the tear, where it was sending the weakened god was unknown.
Gormalith strained to turn to her fellow warriors and shouted out that they were gonna make it.
"Gron Daal Haal," the words barely whisper, but the power behind them was enormous, and amplified them for all to hear. A single crimson eye stared out across toward the three, specifically the last Dragonborn. And what felt like a massive clawed hand wrapped around the Dragonborn, and yanked him toward the tear in reality.
"Dragonborn!" Both of the heroes cried out, as their summoner/comrade was disappear into the tear along with the dreaded Alduin. As if full from a bountiful meal, the tear sealed itself shut.
"Shor's bones!" Cried out Felldir, as the pressure on them had abated allowing for greater movement and freedom.
"What did that blasted Dragon do!? Where did the Dragonborn go? As the two fallen heroes observed the epic center the Alduin's last attack.
Unfortunately, this would not be the last time someone would ask that question. Of where did the Dragonborn go? Did he win? Has Alduin won? Most would assume that he felled and rest in Sovngarde. Others would cry he had won since the great and terrible Alduin would never be seen again. Some would mourn for the Dragonborn and pray to the gods that he is well and will return one day...
~~~(D)~~~
Unbeknownst to all, the fate of the Dragonborn and Alduin, the broken and injured beings collide with one another, as their physical forms tumbled and fell into the spiral chaos of the immaterial. Before finally slamming into the ground, with a mighty thud. The two lay there, bloody and spent, while the environment shifted and twisted around them. What felt like an eon of silence, was interrupted by a loud groan, as Alduin force himself up. Taking in the maddening sight of the immaterial realm. Barely conscious and dying, Alduin knew he had made a mistake in casting that dangerous thu'um. It had been out of desperation and rage, that Dragon had said those words. The immaterium, the realms between realms, the one that connected the dead and the gods together. Was a dangerous one, never to be traversed without preparation and power, for there were many things that lurk here, that could even fell a god.
And here he was weakened and exhausted, easy prey to any roaming parasite or worst. Sensing movement, Alduin turned his head to his hated rival, who had managed to get themselves into a kneeling position. Blood dribbled downward from his hated foe's head. The two stared each other down, daring one another to make the first move.
It would seem neither of them would be the first the move.
"RAARRGGGGHHH!"
From out of nowhere, a red flying entity lash onto the back of Alduin and sank its jaws into his back.
"DUR!" He roared, snapping his jaws around the strange-looking Daedra that had the audacity to attack them. And with a single twitch, his jaws crushed the weird-looking beast. His one remaining good eye, widen in disgust and spit out the Daedra. What landed on the ground was a mass of false ethereal entrails and blood, that was quickly evaporating into spiritual particles.
"RAAAARRRGHH!RRAGAGHGGH!" Soon more roars could be heard, Alduin turn his head, and saw a dozen more of the strange winged Daedra. A harsh growl escape his fanged maw.
"These mewling worms thought they could kill him! ALDUIN the WORLD-EATER!"
Once again his rage boils up inside of him, he spared one look at the wounded Dragonborn and saw that he hadn't moved from his kneeling position. A warm thought swam through his head, maybe the Dovahkiin was dead. How fitting it would be. That thought was cut short as the first few of the flying beasts came barreling down toward him.
"YOL!"
A single massive fireball shot forth incinerating a handful of the flying Daedra, the others Daedra awkwardly glided away from the sudden fireball. Two of them dashed forward, with one landing on his back and the other on his none wounded wing. At the same time, they bite down on the black dragon. His tail swipe manage to knock some of them out of the air, and body crumpling upon impacting. Alduin held back a grow and tried desperately tried to shake the beasts off, however, was sideswiped by the rest of the flying creatures dogpiling him. Biting and clawing at the weakened Dragon god. He manage to catch a few of them in his jaws, and easily crushed them. A pool of dragon blood and ethereal blood began littering the ground beneath the.
Pain... everything was painful. Those were the thought, that ran through the Dragon slayer's head. His armor was badly damaged, every bone in his back seem to be broken, and it was hard to breathe. Dragonbane was broken in half, and his war axe was fractured.
"Damn. Why was it so loud?" The slayer was having a hard to think. For some reason, his thought keeps shifting. The desire to kill the Dragon, make its blood spill forth, to rip its skull out of its body! To cause it pain, eternal pain for all of the pain it causes to others. He would drink on the pain of the Dragon, to place himself from the dragon. Or maybe the dragon's death would be the start of his own ascension, to rise above all mortals and immortals, to rip the knowledge from the dragon's very soul! Or maybe find the truth of life and death, to be free of de..."
"KAAN DREM!" (KYNE PEACE)
It was a strange feeling to cast this thu'um upon himself. To feel his warring mind calm itself and silence the voices. It was relieving...
"RAAAAOOOGGRRR!"
Turning his head in time to witness the mighty Alduin struggling to battle a dozen or so Daedra. Unleashing fireballs at the Daedra. How strange, they were like nothing he had ever seen before. They were miniature four-legged dragons, with red skin and a mane. They might have been as big as a standard stallion, and with that large of a group of them attacking the Alduin, just might die.
"That would be satisfying," the Dragonborn thought to himself. But unfortunately, he needed to be the one to kill the dragon, if he wishes to learn the Thu'um that brought them to chaotic oblivion.
.
.
.
"STRUN BAH QO!"
A mini lighting storm formed over the Alduin and the pest that was slowly withering him down. Within a second, all of them were blasted with several lighting bolts, frying the winged Daedra, and further weakening Alduin. Collapsing on the ground, Alduin weakly eyed the caster of the storm attack, the damn Dragonborn was alive.
...but maybe that was good. A trio of words forms in the Dragon god's mind as the Dragonborn approaches him, that accursed Akavri blade in hand. Once he closed enough, Alduin open his mouth and spoke:
"ZII GRON DOVAHKIIN!"
The air rippled with the power of the thu'um. Not wanting to let another attack take him again, the Dragonborn plunged Dragonbane into the Dragon god's remaining eye. The enchantment upon the weapon activates, sending a powerful electrical charge directly into the beast's brain, melting it from the inside out. The body twitches from an electrical current, before finally coming to a rest. The body began to decay as rapidly as the others before have. The pieces of the Alduin's soul flowed into the hero of Skyrim.
With that Alduin was dead, the Dragonborn felt the weight leave his shoulders, it was finally over...
"HAHAHAH! Mey hi hindol nii lost oblaan." (Fool, you thought it was over.)
The dark, gravelly voice of Alduin growled into the head of the Dragonborn. Shock filled the Dragonborn as realization set in that the damn Dragon had tricked him.
Then a searing pain sprung into his head, it felt like his skull was going to explode. Causing the Dragonborn to fall to his knees, clutching his head in agony. Eventually, the pain started to spread throughout his body, his muscle felt like they were being ripped apart. His bones were snapping mending themselves over and over. As his limbs began to elongate, and his nails popped out of his fingers and toes. His chest felt like it was on fire and the taste of blood was washing over his tongue.
On the outside, the Dragonborn's physical form was undergoing a metamorphosis. His body was shifting in size, causing him to become bigger, the armor that encompasses him groaned and bent as his body became too big for it to contain. Blood pooled from his mouth, the Dragonborn's hand clumsily grabbed his helm and ripped it from his head, tossing it several meters away.
A mop of shoulder-length black dreads fell down around his head. His chestnut brown skin turned into a deathly gray tone, one of his golden-yellow eyes shifting into crimson red. Two black spiral horns, burst forth from his forehead, in spray red mists. A black scaled tail sprung from under his armor, and the end of covered in spikes slammed down on the ground.
Finally, the pain become too much and the mighty Dragonborn reeled backward, arms spread wide and unleash an earth-shattering roar.
"RRRRAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHH!" The Dragonborn/Alduin roared their voices melding due to the fusion of spirit and body. Their roar shook the realm of immaterial to its core, scaring the lesser Beast of the realm and garnering the attention of the masters of the realms.
"AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!" Their roar continue to pierce the immaterial world until eventually, another tear appeared before them. The pressure that had built up within the new being had finally been released. The gruesome transformation had been halted and exhaustion had finally won. Then the new being fell into the tear, which led back into the material world.
Author Note: And there you go, the first chapter of a random story. Hopefully, y'all like it and would drop your thoughts in the review.
Alright with the pleasantries out the way, let me address 3 or 4 things:
1. The limitations from elder scrolls and specifically Skyrim, that are placed on the characters have been removed. What does that mean simple, characters are more powerful, larger, and/or "improved." And yes Alduin doesn't seem so strong at the moment, but don't worry we will see the great world-eater battling greater demons and gods.
criticism is very much welcome, while I'm doing this for fun. I would legit like to know how I could improve my writing.
3. I don't know, I'll discuss power levels next chapter.
