Hey everyone, sleepy here with my first story. I'm new to this so I'm open to suggestions.
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson
Percy POV:
It's been two months since that day. The day that I saved the world but mine fell apart. That day when She died. I've been spending time at my mum's place but it hasn't made a difference.
FLASHBACK
It was us versus the world. Literally. The giants have been defeated but Gaia still remains. Leo was flying the Argo above us, Jason and Frank trying to organize their troops in a phalanx formation, and Hazel and Nico bringing up what seemed like the whole underworld while Piper was covering. And that left me and Annabeth, my wise girl, my light in the darkness, fighting Gaia, all alone, with no help from anybody, no help expected from anybody. Then Gaia, the one who wanted all this to happen, who planned this for ages, with my sword through her chest as she was dissolving into sand, grabbed my sword and stabbed Annabeth in a last-ditch effort. She was not expecting it, of course, she wasn't and collapsed as Gaia crumbled into sand and went back into another millennium of slumber. The last of the monsters either retreated or were mercilessly slaughtered.
That night, we celebrated, we laughed, and we danced, but it wasn't the same without her. I couldn't bring myself to celebrate though. The next day, we all gathered to the lake to pay our respects to the dead. I wasn't really paying attention (I cant stand to see people that I could've protected if only I had been a little faster, a little stronger) until Grover tapped me on my shoulder to get me to pay attention. It was Annabeth's shroud. I got called up to say a few words but what is there to say, she was the love of my life and she helped me take down Gaia but then died at the last second. One by one, all the shrouds get sent off into sea and the Apollo cabin shoots a flaming arrow at it to burn it.
That night was one of the worst nights of my life. I kept turning and twisting in my bed, unable to sleep due to the nightmares that haunt me. I keep hearing her voice, asking me, why didn't you save me? Eventually, I fell into a slumber, full of nightmares of her voice.
END OF FLASHBACK
I miss her everyday I live and I've decided to take matters into my own hands. I take my cursed blade, level it with my chest, and thrust. But instead of feeling metal on my skin, I feel two warm hands on my own and stop the blade in its path. I open my eyes to see two sad yet warm eyes staring at me.
Thanks for reading my first chapter, I'll try to have some longer chapters and try to start including more things. Open for reviews and feedback.
