Ahh nothing feels better than publishing one of my stories that has been long in the works. I know some of you'll be confused as to why I'm doing this when I already have some other stories going on, but worry not! This particular fic is meant to be a two-shot for now, with the second chapter set to be published in the near future (hopefully in the next two or three weeks).

Now, let me shed some light on this for better understanding. This is a crossover between Naruto and Kyonyuu Fantasy, the game, not the anime. There's not much difference between the ovas and the visual novel, but the latter is a better source for information about the world of Edeland and the background story which I feel is important to address. I personally like lemony stories with plot, so that's what I'm going for here. As such, this chapter will serve to give proper context before we delve deep into the world of Kyonyuu Fantasy.

Last but not least, the pairing for this two-shot will be Naruto x Shamsiel. There are more author notes at the end of this chapter with extra comments about this point. For now, enjoy!

~ Chapter 1 : The Foreigner ~

Konohagakure no Sato was one of the most powerful and respected hidden villages in the Elemental Nations, having produced many legendary shinobi ever since it was founded decades ago. Its thriving economy and ninja force were rivaled only by a few other villages, like Kumogakure no Sato, and even after the Fourth Shinobi War had ended it was still held with the upmost respect and admiration.

Those days, the whole world was going through a period of peace unlike any other in the entire history of shinobi. All countries and their respective hidden villages alike cooperated with each other and worked towards solving whatever grievances or conflicts may arise between them through peaceful means, something that mere months ago would have been unthinkable to anyone. The war had brought about these and many other changes to the Elemental Nations, and even though to some it was still a bit difficult to believe and accept Konoha had allied with the other four great villages, they couldn't deny life had never been better at the Elemental Nations.

Many had sacrificed their lives for this to happen. To protect the world from the overwhelming threat of Uchiha Madara and ultimately Kaguya Otsutsuki, the rabbit goddess, mother of the mythical Hagoromo Otsutsuki, who was regarded as the father of all chakra. It'd taken a tremendous effort to stop her from taking all chakra from every living being, and even with the combined forces of the Shinobi Alliance the chances of succeeding had been extremely low at the time.

Though and against all odds, a young genin rose among the rest and achieved the impossible, beating the seemingly invincible goddess with the help of his best friend, Sasuke Uchiha. The genin's name was Naruto Uzumaki. Hero of the Leaf and savior of the Elemental Nations. Once a boy hated by many, he'd proven himself as one of the strongest ninja to have ever been born in Konoha, possibly at the level of the past Hokages that had come before him.

Said hero was currently lying on his back at training ground seven, the place he and his team used to meet and train at when they were still under Kakashi Hatake's command. His oceanic blue eyes absently stared at the floating clouds in the sky above, his breathing slow and relaxed, something that matched the sleepy expression on his juvenile visage.

A long, deliberately loud yawn escaped his lips as he closed his eyes for a moment, placing his arms behind his head. Despite not saying it out loud, Naruto was bored out of his mind. All his friends were busy with work, attending to clan matters or out of the village on diplomatic missions, which left him with nothing to do but try to enjoy this newfound peace he and everybody else had worked so hard to achieve. He was glad tensions between Konoha and the other nations had practically vanished, though he never guessed things would become so boring afterwards.

The 17 year old teen, who'd recently been appointed as Jounin in reward for all the services performed, momentarily entertained the thought of heading towards the Hokage Tower to see if baachan had any interesting mission for him to take, but decided not to in the end. A and S rank missions had become ultra rare after the war had ended, heck even B missions were hard to come by. Most requests now consisted of doing house chores for the elderly, finding missing objects, taking care of someone's garden, and many other menial tasks that Naruto didn't even want to think about.

There was a limit to how many of those he could do before going crazy, after all.

"Hah... I wish there was something fun to do", the young man let out a silent sigh, a hand reaching up to scratch his nose. "If only-"

Whatever was it he wanted to say next never left his mouth as he suddenly heard the almost imperceptible sound of someone landing on the grass next to him. To any other, that may have gone unnoticed, but years of hard training had sharpened his senses to the point he could hear even a worm crawling on the dirt if he focused hard enough.

"Naruto-san!"

The aforementioned slowly opened his eyes at the familiar voice that now addressed him, sitting up as soon as he recognized who did it belong to. "Hey Neko-chan", Naruto waved a hand at the masked anbu that was crouching next to him, her face lowered in respect. "What's up?"

"Hokage-sama is expecting you at her office."

"Huh? Baachan wants to see me?", the blond couldn't help but wonder aloud, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What for?"

Neko inclined her head even further at the question. "I believe she has an important mission for you", her words instantly piqued his interest, but the anbu didn't seem to notice it. "I suggest, Naruto-san, that you hurry along now. It's an urgent matter."

And just like that, the woman wearing a cat mask disappeared in a swirl of smoke and leaves, leaving Naruto behind. The latter blinked his azure eyes when he noticed he was alone again, and he couldn't avoid his lips curling into a toothy grin as he stood up and dusted off his pants. He stretched his limbs and grunted in satisfaction as he did so, slapping his own cheeks to get rid of his previous drowsiness.

A moment later, the Uzumaki shunshined away from training ground seven, not having felt this excited in a long time.

When Naruto arrived at Tsunade's office, he was surprised to find her looking particularly distressed about something he had yet to learn. She didn't acknowledge his presence until he cleared out his throat, and even then, her eyes never moved his way.

"Ah, you're here. Good."

The Uzumaki couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable at the tense atmosphere that reigned over the office, and was about to ask the woman about it when she beat him to it by finally turning to face him.

"We have a bit of a problem."

Immediately, all awkwardness left Naruto's face and his expression grew serious. "Did something happen?", his mind went over possible scenarios that could get Tsunade to look as apprehensive as she did. Whatever had her worried, had to be really serious, the blond guessed.

The Godaime Hokage didn't answer right away, instead proceeding to rub her temples in frustration for a few moments. "No", she finally breathed out, leaning against her chair. "Not really. Everything is fine. Our alliance with the other villages still stands and there have been no reports of renegade shinobi acting up against the shinobi forces."

Naruto calmed down somewhat at what he heard, though a frown soon crossed his features as he stared at Tsunade. "Then? What's going on, baachan? Neko-chan said you had a mission for me... She said it was urgent."

"It is", deciding to ignore the way he adressed her, the beautiful hokage nodded gravely. "But I think it's best if I let our client talk about it instead. He'll be able to explain things in detail. Shizune! Bring him in!"

Before the blond could even open his mouth to retort, the door to the office opened and in walked a pale looking man with broad shoulders, short blond hair and deep sapphire eyes similar to his own, who eyed his surroundings again with a nervous look on his face. He didn't look a year older than thirty, yet Naruto was immediately put on edge at seeing the bags under his azure orbs, and the fear in his visage. It was like he'd seen a ghost or something.

"Please, come in, Shinji-san", the man snapped his head towards Tsunade at hearing her calm voice, but promptly nodded and walked up to the desk, only now noticing the teen who was staring at him curiously. "Shinji-san, this is Naruto Uzumaki, one of the finest shinobi of this village. Naruto, this is Shinji Murakabi. He's the reason I called you here today."

"A-Ah, it's an honor to meet you, young and powerful warrior!", the man called Shinji bowed before the jounin, who was slightly taken aback at the gesture.

"...Likewise", he said, awkwardly rubbing his neck. He had no clue what was going on, only that it was clear something was troubling the strange man. What, exactly? He did not know, but Naruto guessed he'd find out soon.

"Shinji-san, I believe Naruto here will be more than capable of assisting your people with your... predicament."

The way Tsunade uttered the word 'predicament' sent a shiver down Naruto's spine. It was a grave tone, one he rarely ever heard on her.

"You really think so, Tsunade-sama!?", all the previous anxiety and fear seemed to leave the man's face at news, and he proceeded to stare expectantly at the hokage, almost as if waiting for confirmation.

Which he soon got in the form of a curt nod. "Hm", she grunted. "He may look like a complete idiot..."

"O-Oi!"

"...But as I said, he's one if not the best shinobi amongst our ranks. If anyone can help you, that's him."

Relief filled Shinji's expression and he finally allowed his lips to curl into a small smile. "Oh, I sure hope so. Our town has suffered enough already without our prefect even bothering to lift a finger to aid us..."

There was a flash of contempt in his eyes at the mention of the person Naruto believed was in charge of the place where he lived, though he decided to ignore that for now and focus on getting his questions answered. "Hold on a sec, if I'm helping someone, at least I need to know what I'm going up against", the blond moved his sight from Tsunade to Shinji, who once again looked distressed for some reason. "So", the blond smiled. "Let's start from the beginning. Where are you from and what do you need help with?"

"My apologies, that almost slipped my mind", Shinji cleared his throat embarrassedly. "I come from the province of Boan, a land within the kingdom of Edeland that's under the control of lordship Hagel, our king. It's a highly impoverished area of the country, but our people are strong and hard-working."

"Edeland? Boan?", Naruto couldn't help but repeat confusedly, as those were places he'd never heard in his whole life. Despite having been to many parts around the Elemental Nations, this was the first time he heard about them. His mind then shifted to the last person Shinji had mentioned. "And what on earth is a king?"

"That'd be the equivalent of a daimyo", Tsunade interceded, "only in this case, a king's influence can extend beyond the limits of a country."

The blond tilted his head to the side. "You mean, he can rule over two or more countries?"

"Basically, yes", Shinji nodded his head, his lips curling into an apologetic smile. "I'm currently unaware of the actual extent of our kingdom, as Boan doesn't get many visitors from the capital and even then, we seldom get to interact with them. Thus, our knowledge of Edeland's affairs is quite limited to say the least."

Naruto waved his hand dismissively at that, telling him not to worry about it. He wasn't interested in politics anyway - what piqued his interest, though, was the way Shinji kept talking about Edeland and Boan, almost as if they were two pretty unique places compared to everything he thought he knew about the Elemental Nations. Hearing him talk about the way things worked where he lived had Naruto wonder whether there were hidden locations somewhere in the Nations.

"As regards my land...", the blond managed to focus back in the present just as Shinji seemed about to explain more about where he was from, and he couldn't help but notice Tsunade was looking his way with a unnervingly expectant look. "...You might be surprised to hear that I've had to embark on a trip across the vast ocean to get here, as the only means of reaching this land is by ship."

After hearing the news, an awkward silence settled in Tsunade's office, with Naruto slowly processing what he'd just heard. His expression was calm and serene at first, but as soon as his mind caught up with the information he'd just received, it instantly twisted into a confused frown.

"What is that supposed to mean...?"

Tsunade could not help but let out a sigh, slightly annoyed at her surrogate grandson's inability to understand what Shinji wanted to tell him. Still, she knew it wouldn't do to get angry at him, especially not when she herself understood the news themselves were unlike anything she or anyone else had ever heard.

Shinji, on the other hand, didn't find his lack of comprehension upsetting at all, but rather something to be expected. "I suppose I should start by making it clear that Edeland is just one kingdom, or country as you may perhaps call it, within the continent of Eurodia. Between it and the Elemental Nations there's a huge body of water, known as the Great Ocean by my people", as the young blond by his side processed what he was being told, the man proceeded. "It took me three weeks of arduous travel to reach this land, which I wasn't even sure existed in the first place, but I never stopped believing I'd succeed in my efforts to find noble and legendary warriors capable of defeating the evil that has been tormenting us for some time now. In the end, I am certain that's what got me here, to this incredible village of yours."

At that point, Naruto's eyes had grown wide and he looked to be in shock. Of all things he was expecting to hear, this was not one of them. Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined that other places existed far beyond the Elemental Nations, yet here was a man from a distant land that had ventured out his home seeking for help. There wasn't anything on his worried expression that led Naruto to believe he was trying to fool them.

If anything, Shinji seemed honest enough about the whole deal, which had the blond frowning in thought for a moment.

"Are you okay, Naruto?"

"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine", his previous frown softened a bit as his azure eyes turned to the awaiting man in front of him. "It's just... I don't get why would you go this far looking for us. Wouldn't it be better to turn to your king or kage to help you with your problem instead?"

"It's not possible for mere peasants like me to have an audience with the king himself. Every matter has to be brought to our prefect, Irboyne, who in turn directs our problems to the capital if he deems them worthy", the man noticed the raised eyebrow on Naruto's visage, and gave him an understanding nod. "As you may have guessed already, the prefect is rarely willing to hear us out and instead settles for hiding away in his quarters while the rest of us struggle for survival."

At that point, the scowl Naruto's features had twisted into was barely concealed. The more he heard about that guy, the less he liked him, whoever he was. He hated it when people in charge turned into self-righteous pricks who put themselves first before everyone else, letting the power get to their heads.

"What about a hidden village nearby?", the blond then asked, noticing Shinji had yet to talk about other ninjas.

Tsunade sighed in her chair, attracting Naruto's sight onto her. "There are no shinobi in Eurodia, Naruto. No hidden villages, no gennin, chunnin, jounin and definitely no kages. I'd say that chakra as we know it doesn't exist in that place. "

"W-What?"

The man smiled bitterly at the blond's reaction. "Indeed. Such things are but fairy tales mothers tell their children to put them to bed where I come from. Only a bunch of us know of the legends of the mighty warriors and the ancient land they reside in, which would also serve as a explanation to why it's possible no one had dared to venture this far into uncharted territory before me. At least, nobody who came back anyway."

"..."

By the desk, the beautiful hokage noticed the incredulity in Naruto's face and nodded gravely, "I found it hard to believe it at first too, but Inoichi-san has already checked his memories and it all adds up", she paused for a moment, allowing her words to sink in. "In other words, he's telling the truth. There is other people living on the other side of the ocean. People whose ways of living are far different from ours and lack chakra altogether, or are unaware of its existence."

"Whoa..."

Naruto had to sit by the window pane of the office as he went over the news. The more he thought about the things that were waiting to be discovered on the other side of the planet, the more inclined he felt to go and see this new world for himself. For some reason, this seemed like a fated chance at living an adventure no other shinobi ever lived.

"This is... wow."

"You said it", for the first time ever since Shinji had suddenly irrupted into her office, looking shocked about practically everything he laid his eyes upon, Tsunade grinned sincerely. Though that gesture was soon replaced by a somber expression the moment she remembered they still needed to deal with the worst part of the whole ordeal. Just thinking about it sent shivers down her spine, but she soon managed to compose herself, knowing Naruto had to hear about this sooner or later. "And I can see you're excited about this, but..."

"But?"

The way Tsunade trailed off, turning around so that nobody in the room could see her face, had Naruto tense. He glanced at Shinji, looking for answers, and noticed the fear and anxiety had suddenly returned to his face. Albeit more subdued in contrast with how scared he'd first looked upon entering the office.

"Tsunade-sama, may I...?"

"Please."

"Oi, what's with the secrecy? You're creeping me out, baachan!"

Naruto ignored the vein that now bulged on the woman's forehead, and instead focused back on Shinji, who lowered his head with a dreadful look. He took a moment to collect his thoughts and finally allowed his lips to part after a few seconds of silence. "Some time ago, the men in our village began to disappear after everyone else went to sleep, vanishing without a trace. Sometimes we would only realize they were gone by morning, although on a few rare occasions their families would wake up in the middle of the night and notice their beds were empty. Still, no matter whether we went out looking for them at night, we'd only be able to find their pale corpses the moment the Sun came out."

At reaching this part of the story, the Uzumaki couldn't help but notice the way the man shut his eyes and clenched his fist, looking mildly disturbed about the awful memories he was being forced to recreate. Still, and despite not wanting to pressure him, Naruto felt the need to encourage the troubled man to carry on. He needed to know what could have driven Shinji to get this far just to look for help.

"They were dead?", Naruto said, blinking. "All of them?"

"Yes", his interlocutor nodded, before taking a deep breath. "Every single man who disappeared was found exactly like the others: lying lifelessly near the outskirts of the village, their skin so pale you could mistake them for ghosts", Shinji grew even more apprehensive as he folded his arms over his chest, with Naruto widening his eyes for a moment. "What's more inconceivable to me is the look of pain on their faces, or the lack of any fatal wound or marks on their bodies that could have served to understand how they died."

At that, Naruto paled. "No signs of fighting?"

"No. Their bodies are usually intact in that regard, although they do look quite thin and bony, like their life force has simply been... sucked off of them."

A tense silence ensued his words, and none of the three people present in the room dared to break it for the time being. To Naruto, all of this was starting to sound familiar to him. Too familiar. In fact, he was already thinking about a possible suspect who could be behind those people's deaths. A person, if he could call her that way, who went around stealing chakra from other people while killing them in the process.

Then again, it didn't really make sense to believe Fūka was the one to blame, not after he'd put an end to her by slamming a rasengan to her hair. He seriously doubted she'd evaded death and escaped to a new continent far from his reach so that she could break havoc once again by devouring the life energy of innocent people.

"That's not all", Shinji's face grew somber at what he was about to say next, which he did in a very cautious tone, almost as if wanting to be extremely careful for some reason unknown to Tsunade's surrogate grandson. "Every victim we have stumbled upon had their... penises out and part of their clothes covered in dried sperm."

Naruto could not help but feel sick at the things he heard. None of it made any sense. No matter how hard he tried to come up with a proper explanation to the strange case of the dead men, his mind just found it impossible to find any logic behind the culprit's actions.

"Do you...", the blond paused for a moment to breathe in, still visibly shaken, "do you have an idea of who can be behind all this?"

The man looked even more apprehensive than ever at the question, which Tsunade noticed as he glanced at her, looking for confirmation. She gave him a curt nod, signalling to proceed. Which he did, albeit reluctantly. "We believe this to be the act of a demon. And a very powerful one at that."

"A demon?", Naruto couldn't help but tilt his head to the side and frown in confusion. He himself had been called that way before, and though the villagers' judgement had been completely wrong at the time, it wasn't hard to consider the possibility of a demon being the one behind the murders this time. After all, he practically had zero knowledge of Eurodia and the things that resided there, so demons could be as real as human beings.

"Yes", Shinji shook his head fervently. "That's why we need your assistance, great warrior. Please, I beg you, come back with me to my people and help us get rid of that demon before it kills us all!"

As the desperate man bowed his head deeply and Tsunade stared at Naruto expectantly, the latter didn't even need to think twice about it, as he had already made up his mind.

"Sure. Count me in!"

"Ah, you will!?"

Naruto raised a hand to the hitai-ate on his forehead and grinned. "You bet! Even if everyone else turned their backs on you, I'll find the way to teach that demon or whatever is it that's killing your people a lesson it will never forget!"

His words were instantly met with a deep bow and multiple words of gratitude from Shinji, who felt as if a tremendous weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

"Well said, Naruto", by her place, the Godaime Hokage nodded in evident appreciation at her godson before pulling a stack of documents from a nearby drawer. "I'm classifying this mission as S-rank, and thereby top priority. Normally you'd have the rest of the day to prepare for such a long trip, but given the urgency of this matter, I think it'd be best if we speed things up", receiving a resolute nod from the Uzumaki, she proceeded. "You have two hours to get ready and meet Shinji-san by the gates, where you'll depart. Is that clear?"

"Gotcha, baachan!"

"As for our visitor...", the busty Hokage turned to the man in question, "We'll provide you with a place you can rest in the meantime. You must be exhausted."

"Thank you, Tsunade-sama", he said appreciatively, rubbing his tired eyes. "I'll find the way to repay you some day. This kindness will not be forgotten by my people."

"Think nothing of it", Tsunade waved her hand. "Dismissed!"

Naruto had just finished sealing away his special reserve of instant ramen when a quick look at the clock on his bedroom told him it was almost time to depart. He blinked his azure eyes and took a few more moments to check he was taking everything he cared about with him.

After all, with a such a long trip awaiting him, he had a feeling he would not be back home for a while. Besides, the place he was headed to promised to be significantly different to what he was accustomed to, so it was better to be well prepared.

"Yosh!"

With an excited nod, the young jounin wasted no time and exited his old apartment through a nearby window, dashing forward as soon as he was out in the open. Naruto made sure to take a quick look around his surroundings as he jumped roof to roof, watching as constructors and other workers the village had hired some time ago focused on repairing those areas of Konoha that had yet to be restored. The blond felt as though he'd be able to see the place as good as new by the time he came back.

He just hoped this adventure of his would not take forever. After all, and no matter how exciting all of this seemed to be, Konoha was his home and he didn't want to be gone for long. Especially not when none of his friends knew he was leaving. He'd left a letter for them in the hands of Shizune, yet he knew that would not suffice. At least not to Sakura, who'd no doubt screech in anger and demand to go after him the moment she learned of his departure.

On that note... Maybe it was best if she was left in the dark about this matter. He could deal with her wrath later.

Naruto gulped.

Probably.

Shaking his head off those dark thoughts, the Uzumaki focused back on the path ahead and as soon as he did that, he found himself staring at the massive wooden gates of Konohagakure no Sato. On ground level, Naruto noticed, stood an impatient looking Shinji, flanked by Tsunade and Shizune, who was carrying TonTon on her arms. Aside from some oblivious civilians and fellow shinobi on patrol around the village, nobody else was there to see him off apart from the Hokage and her assistant.

"Ah, there you are."

Upon reaching the others, Naruto faced his godmother with an excited smile, one that depicted how eager he felt at finally having an important mission assigned to him. "I'm not late or anything, right?", he couldn't help but ask, having noticed beforehand the look on Shinji's visage.

"No, you're actually on time. Which is good, as the sooner you leave the better."

A curt nod of his head was all Tsunade got as a response.

"You'll be travelling to Eurodia by ship, Naruto-kun", Shizune explained, shifting TonTon in her arms to make herself more comfortable. "Tsunade-sama has already made all the necessary arrangements. It leaves from the docks in the Land of the Sea at midnight, so you may want to hurry."

"By ship? Hm, all right...", the jounin trailed off, suddenly looking pensive about something. To Tsunade and Shizune, it looked like Naruto wasn't too fond of the idea of traveling on a ship, but whatever the case was, none of them felt the need to question him about it.

"I think you're already aware of this, Naruto, but you'll possibly be the first shinobi ever to set foot in a foreign and uncharted land", the Hokage waited until Naruto's azure eyes were upon her, and only when she felt sure she had his undivided attention did she proceed. "As such, I believe it'd be better if you refrained from... attracting unwanted attention upon yourself."

Despite her words being clear enough, the young shinobi and hero of the Leaf still felt the need to ask. "So, no jutsus or going full Bijuu mode?"

"Not until you have a clear idea of what's going on in Shinji-san's town", she told Naruto seriously. "There's no telling what could happen if you went overboard before even assessing the situation. Your mission, therefore, is to assist Shinji's people in dealing with their... predicament", Tsunade stressed the last word as if to emphasize how dire she thought matters to be, "and gathering as much information on the kingdom as you possibly can during your stay."

"All without anyone finding out who you are and where you come from", Shizune concluded.

"Exactly", Tsunade graced the young jounin with a small smile. "Any questions?"

Naruto glanced momentarily at Shinji, who looked torn between feeling grateful for everything they were willing to do for his people and eager to depart. It was clear he cared for his own, something that the Uzumaki certainly understood. He'd have felt the same way, if roles were reversed.

"Nope! I'm ready, baachan!"

Tsunade had to refrain herself from punching Naruto in the face as he gave both her and Shizune the biggest grin he could muster, hugged them earnestly, and turned around to face the world beyond Konoha's gates - an excited look now plastered all over his visage.

He hadn't felt that way in a long time, and now that a new adventure awaited him, Naruto could not wait to get started on his journey.

"No amount of words will ever express my gratitude for what you are willing to do to save my people, young warrior. Truly, I'm indebted to you. Alas, I'm but a mere peasant, so coin is something I am afraid I cannot offer in retribution."

Naruto and Shinji had been walking through the dense forest surrounding Konoha for the past 15 minutes. And during that time, Shinji had gone on and on about how grateful he was to him, Tsunade and the village itself. Naruto himself had not uttered a word ever since making their way out Konoha, seemingly lost in his own thoughts and not really paying much attention to his interlocutor.

And it wasn't until they walked past a particularly sturdy looking tree in their path that Naruto abruptly pulled himself to a stop, an act that surprised his companion.

"Okay, this should be far enough."

"Young warrior?"

Looking around, Naruto's vibrant eyes inspected their surroundings for a few moments. A frown was then etched on the jounin's features, and he seemed pensive about something in particular. "I'd have expected at least one or two anbu tailing us", he said aloud, mostly to himself than to Shinji. He double-checked his surroundings, just to make sure, but eventually gave up at realizing they were pretty much alone in the forest. "Baachan must really trust me now that I'm a jounin... Mah, either way, this is better."

"Young warrior, if I may inquire, is something the matter?"

For the first time ever since they'd departed, Naruto finally acknowledged Shinji's presence. "Just call me Naruto. It feels weird being addressed by something other than my name all the time", despite the friendly grin he sent the older man's way, his serious tone didn't leave much room for argument.

"Ah, certainly young wa- Naruto!", Shinji caught himself at a raised eyebrow from the shinobi. "My apologies, Naruto. I didn't mean to offend you."

The aforementioned waved his hand dismissively, and happily thanked the man for complying with his request. "Say, Shinji, how long did you say it took you to get here?"

"How long...? Oh, you mean by ship?", at a cheerful nod by Naruto, Shinji said, "approximately three weeks. It was certainly a long voyage and I had no other desire than to get back on land again. All that time, I never stopped thinking and praying for my family, friends and other villagers, hoping I would see them all safe and sound once again."

"I see, I see", the young shinobi inclined his head in comprehension once more. "And about this demon of yours, how often does it... you know, kill? Like, every night or so?"

His question momentarily took Shinji aback, but he recomponsed himself fairly quickly and said, "its attacks didn't take place every single night, no. At least not while I was there", as he said this, Naruto saw anxiety creeping up his features, the harsh reality of his home town in constant danger making itself present in his mind once again. The tone in his voice shifted to a more grave one as he proceeded. "Sometimes we went on days without any incidents. Some others, our men disappeared every two days."

"Hmm, as I thought, that won't do", Naruto's previous cheerfulness turned to a mysterious look, as he closed his eyes and folded his arms over his chest. "We can't waste three weeks at sea while that demon or whatever keeps attacking your folk. Who knows how many people will be dead by the time we get where we're going."

The jounin's words inadvertently made Shinji widen his eyes before balling his hands into fists. He knew the young shinobi was absolutely right, and he himself had been aware of the fact his people would likely keep on falling victim to the demon while they made their return. But it wasn't as if they had any other choice, right? The only way to cross the vast ocean was to board on the very same ship Shinji had travelled on.

"...That's why, I have come up with a better idea!", Naruto proclaimed excitedly, jolting his companion out of his stupor. "We'll just have to rely on Kurama to get to Eurodia really fast! That way, I bet we could make it in like a few hours, tops."

"Kurama? W-What do you mean?"

"Yup, it's decided", ignoring a confused Shinji, the shinobi allowed his lips to curl into his trademark grin, and clasped his hands together. 'Oi, Kurama, you ready?'

'Hm!'

A sudden and powerful gust of wind surged from Naruto's body, almost making Shinji fall back on his derrière. He barely managed to stand his ground by taking a step back, though a subsequent bright glow now engulfing the jounin's body forced the older man to shield his eyes with his forearm. "What is going on!?", he couldn't see what was transpiring right before him, but Shinji froze in something akin to fear as he felt an immense power coming from somewhere near him.

Then, the wind suddenly died down, and though the previous glow was there, the man soon noticed it'd become less intense. Disregarding all caution, Shinji slowly pulled his arm down, and when his eyes finally caught sight of what awaited him just ahead, a silent gasp escaped his lips.

"Yo!", Naruto, now in Kurama Mode, casually greeted Shinji as he stood proudly in front of him. The shock on the man's visage only grew at hearing the Uzumaki's unmistakable voice, and he couldn't prevent his mouth from opening and closing while struggling for words. "Hahaha, you look like a fish Shinji!"

Ignoring the way the jounin laughed at his expense, the peasant kept on trying to make sense of what he was staring at, only for his mind to fail catastrophically. "H-How... W-What in the King's name is that!?"

"Hah, so you like my bijuu mode!", Naruto's chest seemed to swell with pride as he grinned. "It's great, isn't it? And it's not just for show, you'll see. Now, get ready Shinji, we're moving out!"

"...!"

Isaribi led the foreign sailors to the main warehouse as they carried some empty boxes, each to be filled with different items and merchandise that they'd take back to their homeland for trade. "...Just keep heading that way, it's that big building over there. You can't miss it!"

The strong and ragged men grunted in appreciation as they went on with their current task, and only when they were out of hearing range did Isabiri allow herself to sigh in relief. The port had seen many newcomers ever since the war had ended and all nations had agreed to unite under the same banner. Peace and prosperity had extended to all parts of the Elemental Nations, even to the Land of the Sea, which had benefited enormously from such alliance.

Being such an important port in the whole nations, it was now living a golden era of sorts, with Isabiri lending a hand to the land's Daimyo and keeping a close eye on matters there. Such an honor had been bestowed up to her as per Tsunade-sama's recommendation, who had managed to completely undo the effects that Orochimaru's experiments had caused on Isabiri's body. Gone was her ability to transform into a sea creature, but at least now she could live a normal life, like she'd always wanted to.

All thanks to one Naruto Uzumaki.

Isabiri didn't realize her thoughts had shifted to the world's savior and latest hero of the Leaf, though it served as a pleasant distraction from her tiredness and having to deal with the Land of the Sea's current newcomers. A small smile made its way to her lips as she recalled the hyperactive, blond haired gennin and the rather short time they'd spent together. She wondered whether he'd still be able to recognize her if she were to ever go and pay him a visit in Konoha, which she'd been intending to do ever since Tsunade allowed her to return to her homeland.

If only work didn't keep on pilling up whenever she wasn't looking...

It was fine either way, she concluded. After all, Naruto was scheduled to get to the docks by the evening. Tsunade's anbus had already negotiated with one of the captains and they were now making all the necessary preparations to set sail at midnight. Thus, she'd be able to see him again that night, after all those years. The mere thought of reuniting with the hero of the Leaf made her quite happy for some unknown reason.

"Oi, Isabiri, did ya finish doin' that cargo check I asked ya to do? Captain Uthar says he'll sail away before nightfall!"

"Eh? Y-Yeah, sorry, I'll get on with it right away!"

A bit embarrassed at being caught up in a daze, Isabiri's cheeks heated up in response and she hurriedly headed towards the massive ship docked by the port. Or she would have, if not for the 17 year old shinobi who had just fallen from the sky and onto the ground right a few meters ahead of her.

"W-What the...!?"

The jounin had landed with such expertise that not even a single sound had been made, though his arrival instantly caught the attention of everyone in the vecinity. All the people around turned to gaze at him in surprise, with those who had sailed from across the world looking even more shaken up and astonished than the rest.

Ignoring the way people continued to stare at him, Naruto straightened up, looked around in silence, and eventually met Isabiri's shocked stare.

"Huh? Oh, it's you Isabiri-chan!", Naruto immediately flashed the young woman a shit-eating grin, turning his body around to face her. "Nice to see ya again!"

Only when those last words had been uttered did Isabiri react, and her dark eyes focused on the shinobi before her. "N-Naruto? It's that you?", her voice was filled with incredulity, and so was her visage. She couldn't believe it, he was really there!

"The one and only!", he chuckled cheerfully.

But Isabiri didn't seem to share his enthusiasm as she was still awestruck. "What are you doing here? Tsunade-sama said you were supposed to arrive in the evening", she allowed her eyes to take a good look at Naruto, inwardly impressed at how much taller he was now compared to the 13 year old boy she remembered, and finally noticed the unconscious man the jounin was carrying around like a ragdoll. "And who's that guy?"

"Oh, this one over here?", Naruto glanced towards Shinji and tightened his hold around his stomach, "it's kind of a long story, but..."

'We don't really have time for this kit.'

Whatever explanation the Uzumaki had been meaning to give Sabiri was left forgotten at Kurama's interjection. 'You're right', Naruto agreed, knowing full well they'd be needing every last bit of chakra they had to make a trip as long as they one that awaited them. So it was with an apologetic smile that he turned back to the awaiting girl, and said, "sorry Sabiri-chan, but I gotta go. I promise I'll explain things in detail when I come back!"

"H-Hah? No, wait a minute Naruto, if I let you go Tsunade-sama will be..."

"Say hello to baachan for me, all right?"

Isabiri never got the chance to even respond to that as Naruto suddenly crouched down and propelled himself high in the air by enhancing his legs with chakra. He made an impossibly high jump that allowed him to cross the whole port in an instant and land safely on the water beyond the docks, all this under the attentive stare of Isabiri and the awestruck one of everyone else around.

And then, there was a mighty roar that shook the docks to their very foundations and made even the toughest sailor's hair stand on end.

"Let's go, Kurama! Full speed ahead!"

Most people watching the incredible scene unfolding before their eyes, especially those who were not shinobi or had never seen one go full Bijuu mode in their lives, could do nothing but stare in awe and even fear as the gigantic fox towering over the port turned around and dashed away, growing smaller the more it headed in the opposite direction.

Isabiri herself remained still for a long time even after Naruto was gone, her eyes as wide as balloons. All she could think about during that time, was how pissed off the Godaime Hokage was going to be when she found out what her surrogate grandson had done.

'Yo, Kurama, you sure you don't need to take some rest?'

'I can still keep going, gaki. Do not underestimate me!'

Naruto rolled his eyes in mock annoyance at his tenant's stubbornness, folding his arms over his chest. 'Whatever, let me know if you get tired. I'll take it from there', he knew his tenant was capable of keep the pace for a while longer, but still, he didn't mind taking over if necessary. All that training they'd been doing ever since the war ended was really paying off, as they had managed to decrease the chakra consumption of the full bijuu mode to a bare minimum. It still was quite something, but given how much chakra both of them had, it would take hours before they'd ran out of it.

The Uzumaki was a bit bored out of his mind, to say the least. They'd been travelling for a couple of hours now, and the lack of any ships or sightings of land whatsoever was taking a toll on his sanity. He'd tried distracting himself by imagining what Edeland could look like, to create a mental picture that could give him an idea of what awaited them on the other side of the ocean. Still, all he could come up with was a vast land inhabited only by civilians who lacked chakra and by monsters or demons that went after people, but that was pretty much it. He had an idea of how people dressed if what Shinji wore was of any indication, but apart from that he wasn't even sure if that land of his was really that different to the Elemental Nations.

Naruto let out a frustrated sigh, inwardly hoping their trip would not take much longer. He was dying to get to their destination, to set foot in an unknown land and see with his own eyes all that no other shinobi had seen before, even if it meant facing a foe unlike anything he'd ever faced before.

His memories were then assaulted with Shinji's words and recollections of the demon's modus operandi, and an unpleasant shiver ran down his spine.

'You know I can read your thoughts, right, kit?'

The aforementioned jounin could do nothing but rub the back of his head and look sheepish. 'Yeah, sorry, I forgot', he tried getting rid of the images flooding his mind, but that soon proved to be a gargantuan task, especially with the lack of anything else around that could serve as a distraction. 'It's just that... all those things Shinji said are kind of hard to take in. Am I supposed to believe there's some sort of... sexual demon that only goes after men?'

Despite how silly it sounded, that was exactly what Shinji had implied back at Tsunade's office, which only fueled Naruto's confusion and discomfort.

'I understand how you feel, Naruto', Kurama said seriously, never slowing down. 'And I believe that Shinji guy is hiding something from you.'

At said revelation, Naruto could not help but widen his eyes. 'He is?', he wondered inwardly before taking a quick look at the unconscious figure of Shinji floating below him, just over Kurama's chest. The jounin thanked Kami above he'd placed the foreigner under a minor genjutsu that would keep him asleep for the duration of the trip, as made things easier for them.

'Yes. I don't know for certain, but there's something... odd about him. A strange energy coming from within his mortal body', if before Naruto was interested, now he was intrigued. Even with in his bijuu mode he had not been able to pick up on any energy or power contained inside Shinji, but he knew better than to doubt the Kyuubi. Being a tailed beast meant he had great sensory abilities, among other things.

'What kind of energy?', Naruto inquired, furrowing his eyebrows.

'I can feel... an odd type of chakra mixed with a special type of natural energy. Like the one that's all around us, but different, somehow.'

Naruto listened intently and latched on to his every word, still not sure what it all meant but now aware that Shinji was not just a normal civilian seeking for help. 'That's weird, I can't sense any dark chakra coming from him. You think he's up to no good?'

Despite being focused on the path ahead of him, Naruto had the impression his tenant had actually shaked his head no at that. 'I find that hard to believe. His fear was quite palpable back at Konoha, so I do not reckon he's merely pretending', Naruto felt a bit more relaxed upon hearing the reassuring words of his tenant. 'However, you'd be wise not to let your guard down around him. He may be harmless, but you never know what could be waiting for you when you get to that alleged Boan town of his'.

An absent nod was the initial response the Kyuubi got from his host, and despite his silence, the fox was able to see what was going through his mind at that moment. What Naruto was thinking made perfect sense in Kurama's opinion, especially knowing they'd be at a disadvantage in a strange land where the usage of their chakra was pretty much unacceptable. At least for a while.

'And about that demon that's terrorizing those people... I believe I have a theory as to what it could be.'

'You do?', Naruto was jolted out of his stupor and brought back to reality the moment he heard those words. 'Then why didn't you say so before?'

'Because I was not sure and I am still not, you idiot', the Kyuubi dutifully ignored Naruto's loud protests at being called an idiot and focused on collecting his thoughts before actually speaking his mind. 'This demon we are on our way to face, I think it might be a Succubus. A demon of lust, as you accurately guessed earlier.'

'A Sucu-what?'

'A Succubus', Kurama repeated in a rather patient manner. 'An evil creature that feeds of the life energy of men by forcing them to mate with it.'

Naruto instantly grew pale at what he'd heard as multiple shivers ran down his spine. Even though that was overall the same thing Shinji had said barring the part of 'forcing' men, it still made the Uzumaki uncomfortable no matter how much he tried to wrap his head around the idea. 'How... do you know that?', he couldn't help but ask, mildly intrigued despite his discomfort.

'Hagoromo-jiji used to tell me and my siblings stories when I was just a cub', Kurama explained. 'One of them was an actual encounter he'd had with one of these creatures many centuries ago. He described it as a female being of great beauty and charm, capable of using their dark powers to bend even the strongest will for their own twisted purposes.'

The blond seemed to forget his previous state and allowed it to be replaced with interest. It was a rare occurrence for the Kyuubi to talk about his progenitor, after all, and even more so to learn he'd actually ran into one of these demons before. 'Did he... you know...?'

Even from his position behind his head, Naruto saw Kurama's expression turning into an exasperated look at what he soon realized was a silly question. 'Ha! Of course not! We're talking about the all mighty father of chakra here, not just some random, pathetic excuse at a shinobi', he rolled his eyes amusedly. 'It was a demon that had strayed too far from its homeland and had been feeding off the life force of naïve gennin and chunnin alike, so jiji forced it back where it came from.'

'To Edeland', the Uzumaki declared, now starting to see the connection between the Kyuubi's story with Shinji's one.

'Possibly, yes. He never really did mention the name of that place, but it would make sense.'

Naruto inclined his head at that. It seemed his mission had just gotten a bit more complicated than he'd initially thought it'd be. With a sex demon roaming around and using its, no, her powers to make men fall pray to her thirst for energy, Naruto wasn't sure anymore his will would be strong enough to take her on and resist her charm.

Still, he guessed, he had a job to do as a proud jounin of Konohagakure no Sato, and that's exactly what he intended to. Even if it costed his life.

~ To be continued... ~

This was a just a little appetizer for what is to come next time. Our hero will face the infamous Shamsiel in a battle of wills and endurance, so the big question is... Will he be able to resist or will he perish like so many others before him? As always, stay tuned to find out!

Now, let me talk a little bit about my idea for this story. I provided as much context as possible because my intention is to continue this fic some day and write about Naruto's adventures and encounters with the main girls in Kyonyuu Fantasy's world. Apart from all the lemons, I actually really like the plot of the first visual novel and it's a very fun read. If you haven't played the game, I highly recommend it. Last I checked, it was on sale on Steam.

I am also aware the Naruto x Shamsiel pairing has been written before, but not in Lute's (the main, faceless character from Kyunnyu Fantasy) world as far as I'm aware. I thought it'd be interesting to try my hand at writing a crossover set on that universe, so yeah, this is my humble attempt.

As to when will the second chapter come out... I plan to get it released some time soon in the upcoming weeks. As this is meant to be a two-shot for now, I don't want to rush it and I plan to take my time with it. Don't worry though, I already have the whole idea in my mind and soon I'll get down to working on it.

I bid you all adieu, now. Stay safe, everyone. じゃね!
