Season 5 - Episode 17 - after 'Dead Drop'

March 14, 2017

Her fingers drifted over his face. They were laying together on the couch, cuddling after dinner. She wasn't able to stop smiling. She held up her hand with her new ring for them both to see.

"It's perfect, Andy. You're perfect," she turned and kissed him sweetly.

"I love you and I can save up for bigger …"

"You'll never take this ring away from me," she warned.

He shifted on the couch and pulled her more on top of him. She leaned down to kiss him and they forgot about talking for a while.

"Mmmmm, we can't have sex on the couch, Andy … remember last time…"

"Hmmm, it was the best."

"Not the day after."

"True," he grinned. He was getting too old.

"Take me to bed."

"Yes, Captain Flynn."

She giggled, kissing him fully.

"You will be Flynn?"

"Andy-"

"Oh, come on …"

"Can we not …"

"But why …"

"Andy, yes … of course … I will take your name. Just … it'll be an adjustment."

"A very good adjustment."

"Hmmm." She smiled. They still needed to discuss things … a ton of things, but she could think about all of that tomorrow. He JUST proposed two hours ago. She needed to get in a bed with this man. "Come on, fiancé, take me to bed."

He stood after her and grabbed her, pulling her back. "Say that again."

She turned in his arms and smiled brightly up to him. "I need my fiancé to take me to bed. Now."

He kissed her hard and then took her hand, walking back to their room.

"So, this get-away I heard about, to Napa … the one that didn't happen?"

He smiled and removed her jacket, pulling at her shirt. "Mmmhmm?"

"Why?"

He stepped back and met her eyes. "You want to go?"

"It was a good idea," she stepped forward, gently kissing him.

"Rusty said … you know, you're not big on surprises and me whisking you away would've not ..."

"Rusty was wrong. You can whisk me away any time to any place, my love," she kissed him again, "but tonight was perfect. You … are perfect." She ran her hands through his hair and helped him take off his jacket and tie.

He then pulled her in for a long hug. "I'm so glad you said 'yes'."

"Of course I did," she kissed him and pulled back to have his eyes on hers. "Andy ... I would have said 'yes' a year ago."

"I've had the ring for over a year."

She narrowed her eyes to his. He only smiled.

"Of course you have. Andy," her face saddened a bit, "I'm sorry I seemed to need ... to move so slowly …"

"You, my beautiful fiancé, moved at the right speed. I was just impatient. Everything you do or have done is and was and will always be … perfect. I'm the luckiest man alive."

She kissed him. "Thank you for waiting for me."

"I would have waited forever."

"Well I'm very happy that you didn't."

"Me too," he held her tightly and kissed down her neck.

"Mmmm, I love tonight."

He smiled. "I love you."

Season 3 - Episode 7 - after 'Two Options'

July 20, 2014

'Where are you?' she texted as she finished packing up her things.

'In my car.'

'Driving?!'

'No, ma'am.' Andy chuckled to himself in the parking garage, starting up the car. Even if he were driving and texting, he wouldn't tell her.

She laughed. "Rusty, you ready? I'm dropping you off at home and then going to the hospital to check up on Julio and then out for a late dinner."

Rusty had already been to see Julio and he didn't need to ask about the late dinner. It was either with Andrea, Gavin, Lieutenant Flynn … he had no idea and he didn't really care. She didn't need someone keeping tabs on her every move. Being alone at home meant he could watch whatever he wanted in the living room and eat on the couch, feet on the coffee table.

"Well, let's go then, I'm ready," he answered, slinging his backpack over his shoulder.

She sent a quick text, 'Meet me there in an hour?'

'I'll be there in 50.' He grinned.

He was there in 40, so he got a table and had some coffee. It had been a very long day, but she almost demanded they have dinner tonight after the shootout.

"Hey," she said breathlessly as she sat across from him ten minutes later.

"Hey, you're early."

She smiled. "Did you order for me?"

"No. Wasn't sure how hungry you were …"

"Mmm, very." She picked up the menu.

"So, how was Julio …"

She met his eyes and arched an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah,' he interrupted himself. "After we order…"

She grinned and looked over the menu. Focus.

After the waiter stopped by to take their order, she focused on him. "Julio is good, like Provenza said, frustrated with his Mom, but that's expected. I'm glad no one else was hurt worse. Andy, you were …"

"I'm fine. We were fine."

She hummed.

"Really, SWAT and Fritz were great."

"Thank you for standing down and letting him take the lead …"

"Captain's orders … gotta follow."

"That is correct." She grinned. She was so glad they were all safe. Julio would be fine. Amy did amazing … just … there were so many bullets flying, it could have been so much worse.

"So," he changed the subject, "how is Rusty doing after hours of sorting and tagging all of those photos."

"He's okay, sad."

Andy nodded.

"He decided that he does want me to adopt him."

His grin grew wider. "He finally told you?"

"Yeah-wait, what do you mean?"

He shrugged, "Oh, just … I just assumed he'd be up for it … I didn't figure it would take this long."

"He's worried about how Emily and Ricky feel."

"Well, Em is all for it. She's … excited." He stopped. He knew that she knew Emily was excited. She didn't need him to tell her.

Sharon loved that Andy and Emily were close. She may not have near the beginning of her time in Major Crimes, but he's been very helpful in calming her daughter… in assuring her of her mother's safety. He hasn't let her down, yet. Which is a huge deal for her daughter.

"How's Nicole?" Sharon smiled as his eyes lit up.

"She's wonderful." He couldn't tell her that Nicole thought they were together. After the Nutcracker last year, the wedding, and his talking about this woman like she is the most amazing human on the planet, his ex and daughter took it as … love. He was in love. He couldn't correct her because he'd be lying. He was in love. If only he had the guts to do something about it. Timing, though … was important, though it was like torture for him.

He smiled when she grew excited at the food arriving. Torture that was worth it. Seeing her like this, spending time with her, that's all he needed. This was enough.

Season 4 - Episode 4 - end of 'Turn Down'

June 28, 2015

It had been a night and a day of rushing. Buzz's first night out and alongside Provenza and Andy. Sharon wasn't worried, so much … but anxious. These two may not be the absolute best to take the rule-follower Buzz out and about, but Buzz could hold his own. She also received an earful from her reserve Officer when they returned and completed the arrest. He didn't want to 'tattle' on his superiors, but she worked some information out of him.

"So I hear that the first rule of policing is to avoid paperwork?"

Andy was going to kill Buzz. "Well…"

She flashed her eyes at him and sighed sadly, "That's very disappointing, Lieutenant. Being who I am, and you thinking that way, we could never be together." She smiled.

His face, she thought, would make her laugh, but there was a sadness that crossed it for a split second before he chuckled, grinning down to her.

"Not even if I got down on one knee with a ukulele and scream sang at you?"

She laughed for a very long time at that. "Oh, that was just horrible."

They were waiting by the elevator in her hallway to take it up to the roof to watch fireworks. They'd barely missed catching one with the others, so they had to wait. He didn't complain. Any time alone with her was perfection. And he loved her rooftop. It wasn't the first time he'd accompanied her to watch fireworks and he loved the view.

Today hadn't been a complete failure. They'd made an arrest and wrapped up a murder, had fun doing it, attended a wedding, and then watched the game all together … just not in the stadium. What a game, too. He was pissed at Buzz, but it was light-hearted. What they were doing was so much more important that attending a game … even if it was the game of the fucking decade. Yeah, he was pissed.

"You were a little ridiculous today, Andy."

"I'm sorry," they entered the elevator and she pressed the button, meeting his eyes.

"Luckily Buzz knew the both of you well and didn't listen to your advice."

He shrugged, grinning.

"I'm sorry we couldn't make it to the game."

"Hey, there will be more."

She smiled. "Plenty more, Andy." She was a little tipsy. She was on her fourth or fifth beer … or sixth … it had been a while since she'd had beer. She was enjoying today very much. Sure, there was a murder, but they'd solved it, attended a wedding … she loved weddings … and her entire crew came over to watch the game. She was happy, and it had been quite a while since she'd felt that overlapping with all different aspects of her life.

And Andy.

She smiled up to him and looked him over. He was just cute.

"What?" He eyed her curiously.

"I'm drunk."

He laughed. "That a good thing?"

"Yes, and sorry …" she shouldn't have said that.

"It's fine. I'm completely fine around others drinking. You feeling okay?"

"I'm feeling wonderful." She continued smiling, but flicked her eyes to his lips and didn't look away for a moment.

He wanted to tell her that she was wonderful. He wanted to drop everything in their arms, stop the elevator, and kiss her silly.

Ding.

They smiled and walked out to join the others, placing the cups and bowl by the pizza. The fireworks had just started, so they joined the others closer to the edge. He stood a little behind her and to her right, but close. With each passing moment, they migrated closer to each other, until she leaned against him slightly, feeling a little dizzy.

"You okay?" He whispered almost too close to her ear, making her shudder a little. He placed his hand on her lower back and kept it there, giving her an anchor so that she could lean back more into him. His hand traveled further around her waist and held her slightly against him. Everyone else was to their side, so no one noticed.

"Mmmhmm." She looked up to him, smiling.

He met her eyes for a moment and then looked back at the fireworks. "Beautiful," he mumbled. She continued to look him over, knowing that he was talking about her. She didn't try to hide the fact that she was staring. They were both wearing ball caps, she couldn't stop grinning. He was just so adorable, eyes sleepy, she notices. He had been up for almost two days now.

"So, are you falling asleep?" She never broke from studying his face and he continued looking out toward the fireworks, not trusting himself completely to look at her.

He squeezed her a little closer and finally met her eyes, almost immediately looking down to her lips because hers were on his. "No."

They were both just standing there, staring at the other's lips.

He could so easily lean down, just a little, maybe bump hats, but he could tilt just to the right …

He saw that she wanted him to kiss her. It wasn't wishful thinking. Her eyes quickly gazed into his at the same moment his looked into hers, and then they were back on the lips. Each of them hoping, waiting. She closed her eyes, repeating in her head 'please, kiss me'.

But she was drunk.

He couldn't.

He looked back at the fireworks.

She opened her eyes again and continued to look up to him. Disappointed, but understanding. She made the decision in that moment though … if he did not ask her out this next month, she would find a way to ask him.

She wanted him.

She needed him … to kiss her. She needed his hands on her. She needed more.

She looked back to the fireworks finally and just enjoyed his arm around her, his solid form behind her. She needed this, wanted this every day, every night … it was time. He'd waited so long. She'd been blind for so long.

She needed more than friendship. She needed to risk all of it and just go for it because she was so very much in love with this man. She knew it now. No question. He was everything she wanted.

"Andy," she said just above a whisper.

They both stared at the fireworks still. "Hmm?"

"I love tonight."

He loved her.
