Hey y'all sorry for such a long wait but here's this story completely finished. Thank you to everyone that read and are still reading and that left comments! Thank you!
That night to say Arizona was restless was an understatement. She couldn't remember the last time she was ever this nervous in her life. She was finally meeting her son, a son who up until a couple days ago she didn't even know she had. It was a lot to wrap her head around but she liked the idea of being a parent, of being a family with her Calliope. They had a son together
Arizona was broken from her thoughts from a loud cry coming from outside her room. It sounded close by and she could feel herself getting excited that it was going to be Callie and her son. Better than she could even picture it in her head the sight before her left her speechless. Callie swung the door open in what seem like a struggle trying to get the little boy to stop crying. She was bouncing him up and down on her hip talking to him in a soothing tone. Arizona could just watch and try to soak in every detail of everything, from the little boy who had jet black hair and a darker skin tone than hers but not as dark as Callie's, to the way Callie looked as a parent in action. Looking from the back of the little boy you could easily know that was Callie's kid but when he turned his face and Arizona caught a glimpse she gasped. His face and eyes were a little puffy from all the crying he had been doing but he had the bluest eyes and Arizona could swear that nose was just hers.
The baby seemed to finally settle down and Callie came closer to Arizona's bed. Callie put him facing toward Arizona
"Hey bud this is your other mom" Callie said looking at the boy as she spoke in a soft voice and he kicked his feet like he was excited and knew what was finally going on "Mom this is Wyatt Robbins Torres" she said as she looked towards Arizona.
With tears in her eyes, Arizona reached out her hand to bring it to him and he grabbed her finger "hey Wyatt I know we just met but I love you so much already"
He leaned in towards Arizona and she quickly caught him and Callie let out a chuckle "i guess he likes you already"
"I hope you love me and let me be in your life because you are such a handsome little man" Arizona said to the baby even though she knew he didn't understand her just yet
"Arizona, i'm glad it's you that's his other parent and i'm glad your back home" Callie said looking at Arizona and she can see the sincerity in the brown eyes shining back at her
"I'm glad i'm back home too um soooo question how do we do this whole co parent thing?" Callie let out a chuckle
"Your guess is as good as mine but for the sake of being honest, I want more than just co parents as our future. I want everything life has to offer with you Arizona. I want to figure things out side by side with you, I want to go through all the ups and down with you by my side, together. I want a future with you. I want to get married and have more kids but I want it all with you, you and our son Wyatt. I love you Arizona Robbins and god have I missed you so much in this time apart."
Arizona let out a dimpled smile "Calliope I hope some day I can make all your dreams and Wyatt's come true. I was so miserable without you. I love you Calliope Torres and I hope I can give you everything you want and more."
So that's how things went out. They started off small, mostly Callie going visit Arizona with Wyatt everyday around lunch time. Letting them get to know each other and bond. Callie's heart just wanted to explode every time while watching Wyatt and Arizona interact, it was so adorable and loving. As for Callie and Arizona themselves, they feel back into each other pretty easily. It was almost like no time had passed between. They were pretty content staying to themselves and falling into a routine pretty easy. Until one day when Barbara Robbins came back into Arizona's hospital room early. Her and Tim took an hour break for lunch everyday but not today she came back in early.
"Um uh Arizona you care to share something with me hunny?" Barbara stood in the doorway shocked at the scene she was seeing in front of her.
Callie picked up Wyatt in her arms "i'm just gonna go i'll see you later Arizona" She tried to say quickly and tried to run out
"Callie wait... Just um just could stay please?" Arizona yelled out to her
"um yea..sure" Callie said moving to stand on side of Arizona's bed.
"well mom this is your grandson Wyatt Robbins Torres, he's mine and Callie's son"
"care to explain how you two know each other?" Barbara said her eyes looking between the both of them
"well the last time I was stateside I met Callie and then I got back deployed and here we are"
"but the last time you were here was for your father, that was so long ago and you didn't tell me anything"
"i just recently found out about Wyatt myself"
"okay well looks like your part of the Robbins now Callie, you're stuck with us. Now let me see this handsome little man" Barbara practically shoving Callie out of the way to hold Wyatt.
A couple more months of being in the hospital with their routine and being in physical therapy, Arizona's finally ready to be released.
"you know i've been thinking about you being released tomorrow" Callie says looking at Arizona
"oh yea i'm excited to finally get out of here and this place" Arizona answers back quick showing her excitement
"well I was thinking you should move into my place with me"
"really? wouldn't that be too soon or something?"
"i mean no...well yea, maybe depending on how you look at it but I think it'll be good for us and Wyatt. You can spend more time with him and me. I have an extra guest room that you can stay in and it's across the street from here. Plus you'll have your own personal doctor at your beck an call"
"um yea if you're sure Calliope. I especially liked the part about having you as my own personal doctor" Arizona answered back with her dimples on full display
Living together was an adjustment, especially for Arizona. She had to get use to living with a child, mostly getting woken up in the middle of the night by crying.
She started off sleeping in the guest room and Callie kept true to her word waiting on her hand and foot and making sure she was as comfortable as possible.
Somewhere along the way they just became a hundred percent comfortable with each other and fell into a routine. Once Arizona was almost completely better, Callie would go to work during the day leaving Arizona and Wyatt together. They had a great bonding time together and then when Callie would get home from work, they would have family time. Somehow they gotten use to sleeping in the same bed together so two bedrooms became one.
They were quickly falling in love with being a family of three and having a life together.
