It was a warm summer's day with the temperature at 35 degrees. It was a great day for Lemonade, Ice cream or water fights. But the most popular thing on a day like this, was the water parks. Chris was on his way to his local water park, he couldn't wait to go down the new slides. He entered and paid for his session. He then walked to the changing rooms's hallway and entered the males changing room. Once he finished changing, he left the changing rooms and went towards where the slides should have been. He instead arrived at the kid pool area. He decided to keep looking until he heard a familiar voice. It was the voice of Amen, his last remaining bully. He was standing near a corner facing the wall along with two of his friends. Chris decided to ignore them as he didn't want to have his day ruined by idiots like them. Just as he left he saw Amen kicking something at the corner of his eye. He turned around only to see Amen kicking a girl. The girl stood at about 4'10, close to Chris' 4'30. She had pink hair and brown hair splitting in the middle of her head along with white stripes in her pink side. He could just barely make out that the girl had Heterochromia, her right eye was brown and her left eye was pink (brown eye is under pink hair and pink eye is under brown hair btw). She was the weirdest girl he had ever seen, but also the cutest. He saw Amen laughing at her and kicking her again, but this time it was to the face. If it was one thing Chris hated, it was seeing his bullies bullying someone defenceless, Chris himself wasn't completely defenceless, but the girl was. He rushed over and swept Amen's leg, causing him to fall over into the water. Amen got up and confronted Chris.
Amen: Fancy seeing you here, but if you don't mind, i'm busy.
Chris: Actually Amen… I do mind. Leave the girl alone.
Amen: What's she to you?
Chris looked at the girl, here eyes were closed, waiting for Amen to strike again. She was scared, and honestly, so was Chris.
Chris: An old friend.
Amen: Well I don't care so…
Amen prepared to kick the girl again, but he was blocked and knocked back. He looked up and saw Chris, ready to fight, Amen rushed in, but was halted in his tracks.
Lifeguard: What is going on here?
Chris: Ahh Fred! How's the family?
Fred: Oh it's nice thanks, might explaining the situation?
Chris: Well Amen here and his friends were bullying this girl into the corner, kicking her and possibly worse, I stepped in to stop his attacks and then you showed up.
Fred: I see, You three are BANNED from this place!
Amen: WHAT!?
Fred: Now get out before I call security!
The three boys left, leaving the girl, Chris and Fred the lifeguard alone.
Fred: Well, I'm off to break, see you around Chris!
Chris: Yeah! You too!
Chris began to walk away as he felt something grabbing his leg, he turned around and saw the girl he saved, he forgot about her during his conversation.
Chris: Oh hello. You alright?
The girl nodded.
Chris: Amen and his goons love to terrorise, thankfully he's leaving the country before school starts. Oh right! Where are my manners? My name is Chris, and you are?
The girl didn't respond, instead she used her hands to signal she couldn't speak.
Chris: Your mute?
The girl used sign language to try to communicate, but she forgot that not everyone knows sign language.
Chris: Neopolitan huh? Like the ice cream?
Girl: [wait, you understand me?]
Chris: Yep, I did a sign language course a few years ago.
Neo: [well, you can call me Neo, thanks for helping me.]
Chris: Don't worry about it. Say… do you have anyone to hang out with?
Neo: [no… I don't actually have any friends, my father told me I should go somewhere and make friends, I came here since it's burning hot today, and then I got ambushed by the three boys]
Chris: Well then, I have a solution! Why don't you hang out with me? I came here on my own and to be honest, hanging out with someone else would probably do me some good.
Neo nodded as she followed Chris, the two went on multiple slides until it was time for them to go. They met up outside the changing rooms and walked to the bus stop together.
Chris: So what bus are you taking?
Neo used her phone to type a response.
Neo: [238]
Chris: Are you going to Redstown? (Such a good name, I know)
Neo: [yeah why?]
Chris: I live there too!
Neo smiled in delight, the bus arrived and the two got on. The bus ride was shorter for Chris than usual, he usually took this bus but from a different stop.
Neo: [can I ask you something?]
Chris: Yeah, what's up?
Neo: [could you walk me home? I could use some help telling my father what happened]
Chris: Yeah sure, I'm not busy anyway.
They soon arrived at their stop. Neo showed Chris the way to her house, it was quite big, for just 2 people living in it. Neo knocked on the door and a man in a white jacket, black jeans and a bowler hat answered, he looked at Neo's face which had a black eye from Amen, then to Chris. The man grabbed his cane and hit Chris to the floor, Neo pulled on his arm to stop him from doing anymore harm to Chris.
Chris: Sir, I swear I had nothing to do with it!
Man: Then who did?
Chris: A boy who bullies me as well, I know where he lives, I can show you!
The man put his cane away and helped Chris up.
Man: Neo, why don't you go upstairs and wash your face? I'll have a talk with this boy.
Neo: [please, don't hurt him!]
Man: I won't.
Neo went in side the house and upstairs. The Man invited Chris in to the kitchen and had him take a seat.
Man: Want a drink? I have coffee, tea, water.
Chris: Coffee's fine thank you sir.
Man: So tell me kid, who are you? Why were you with Neo? And who gave her the black eye?
Chris: My name is Chris, Neo and I met at the water park. The black eye was due to a boy named Amen, a common bully in this town. He was banned from the water park, so your daughter will be able to go there safely. I was there and saw what was happening, I stepped in and defended Neo. I couldn't stand to watch more people being bullied by that idiot.
Man: Well then, I must thank you. Neo has been struggling around here, it's good to know that there is some good in this town. Anyways, I'm Roman Torchwick, but you can call me Roman.
Chris: Well, I'm glad I could help.
Roman: Say kid, what school do you go to?
Chris: Oh I go to Cansfield secondary school, am going into 4th year or more known as Transition year.
Roman: Neo's going into that school as well, I also managed to get her into TY. Say could you… look out for her?
Chris: Me and her already became friends anyway, there's an overnight trip on the first day back, will she be going?
Roman: How are the sleeping arrangements?
Chris: I'm the only one left without a roommate, so you're daughter and I will probably be put together.
Neo came back downstairs and saw the two in the kitchen.
Roman: Ah Neo! Glad to see you made a new friend around here!
Neo blushed slightly and sat down beside Roman.
Roman: Say, Chris. Would you be able to mind Neo on the weekend? I have a buisness trip to go to and I don't trust the babysitters.
Chris: If Neo wants to then yes I can.
Neo thought about it for a while before giving a thumbs up.
Chris: Then it's settled, I should probably get going then, I'll come pick her up at 10 in the morning?
Roman: See you then.
Chris left the house and walked back home.
I'm going to be honest, i wasn't gonna make a third fanfic yet. but i really wanted to give this idea i had a shot, so here we are. hope you enjoyed!
