Some unexpected comfort

It was roughly two weeks after their first field exercise when Sidney sat in the cafeteria and thought about how bad his accomplishments in school were.

I have the worse grades and in general I'm not good in anything…

He was frustrated that everyone around him seem to be much better in handling the curriculum.

When this goes on like this I will never graduate.

Just when he felt super down someone suddenly asked him: "Why are you feeling bad?"

He recognised the voice of Instructor Schwarzer and turned around.

He said without hesitation: "I am the worse student on the campus and I never get anything done!"

Instructor Schwarzer looked at him for a moment, then he asked: "Why do you think this way?"

He turned back to the table and dropped his head on the table. Then he muttered sadly: "Because it's true!"

The Instructor didn't said anything to this and soon he heard footprints going away.

After a short while (he was still in the cafeteria) someone he hadn't expected sat down in front of him. It wasn't Instructor Schwarzer or Orlando but a girl of his grade.

"Maya, why are you here?", he asked immediately.

He was nervous because he liked her a lot and she now looked at him with such an intense look.

For a few moments nothing happened then suddenly she said: "I'm here because I want to tell you something important. I feel very nervous just thinking about it but if I don't do it now I may never find the courage."

Through the way she spoke he became even more nervous and stretched his one hand out to her.

"I …", he began.

The same time he started to say something she already opened her mouth and said: "I fell in love with you!"

He starred at her and couldn't believe what he just heard.

"You love me?", he asked very surprised.

She nodded and said then: "Instructor Schwarzer came to me to ask me whether I might know something where you would be best in and I immediately knew something. But I didn't told him what came up my mind."

He asked confused: "Why not?"

She blushed and smiled. Then she stood up and came around the table and sat down next to him. Then she whispered into his ears: "Because it was far too intimate. The first thing which came into my mind when he asked me this was how you were best in making my heart beat like absolute crazy because you are the damn best boy in the entire universe and the only one I ever fell in love with."

After she said this she moved her head just a bit away and looked into his big eyes. Then she asked with a wink: "Do you now want to become my boyfriend?"

He was extremely nervous and super excited but because he didn't trust his own voice he at first only nodded.

When I'm dreaming this is by far the best dream I ever had … And if it is truly happening…

Maya grinned and swung herself then on his lap. He moaned out of surprise but then he hugged his new girlfriend and kissed her with a racing heart.

After some moments and many kisses she asked him: "How do you feel now my love?"

He blushed because of this new sweet name and whispered: "I feel awesome! I never felt so good in my life. I think I could now become the best of all students in the world!"

She laughed and kissed him then again. "Good, because I like my boyfriend to be happy." He smiled and asked then. "So we are now truly a couple?" She nodded and said: "Yes Sidney and this means of course that you should never again flirt with any other girl except me. Unless of course you don't really love me…"

He quickly said: "I would never my angel!"

She smiled and leaned her forehead against his. "Then everything is good…"

They looked at each other shortly before beginning another smooch.
