Summary: Dennis tries to be scary on Halloween, by dressing up as the Ghost of Blackbeard. However, would he actually be scary?
This chapter is the parody of the episode: Scaredy Pants.
Halloween was no different in Transylvania, as there are vampires, skeletons and swamp monsters. But overall, it was a typical holiday in the hotel, as everyone was having fun. Well... almost everyone.
Dennis was in his room, and he was busy reading a book, until he heard something that went 'Creak'. "Huh?", Dennis said, "Who's there?".
Dennis just continued to read his book, and as he looked around his room, he soon noticed bits of paper with letters on them that spell, "Boo!". Startled, Dennis read the book really fast, and then placed it back on the shelf.
"Okay, Papa Drac!", Dennis said, "I'm going to get something!", and he scrambled out of his bedroom door, but Dracula stopped him. "Whoa, Dennis!", Drac said, "Don't you wanna hear my annual scary story?".
"Now really.", Dennis said, before asking, "Does it have a monster in it?". "Yes.", Dracula said, "The worst monster of them all.". "But is it a true story?", Dennis soon asked, to which Dracula said it is.
"Okay, maybe a little.", Dennis said, as Dracula set up a campfire, and told Dennis his scary story.
"Every year,", Dracula began, "On Halloween night. The Ghost of Blackbeard descends onto local towns. In a ship, that looks like THIS, but only bigger!", Dracula said, holding up a sandwich.
"Excuse me?", Dennis asked, "Did his ship look like a sandwich?", but Dracula continues to tell the story. "As I was saying...", Dracula interrupted, "The Ghost of Blackbeard swoops down, and steals people's souls.".
"Do souls look like potato chips?", Dennis asked, to which Dracula answered, "Actually, they kinda do. But they are more clear and flimsy, and smell horrible.". "Anyway...", Drac continued, "He placed them in somewhere you will never get them back!".
"And where's that?", Dennis asked, to which Dracula said, "In his soul bag.". Suddenly, a dark silhouette creeps up towads Dennis, and said, "I come for your potato chip.", in an eerie voice, causing Dennis to scream and hide.
"Scaredy Bat gets easier to scare every year.", Dracula said, revealing that the eerie voice was Johnny in a pirate costume. "Dad, you scared me!", Dennis said, but Johnny said, "It's Halloween, so it has to be scary. Right, Drac?".
"That's right, Johnny.", Dracula said, "Hope you're not to scare to come to the big Halloween party. Dennis the Scaredy Bat!", Dracula soon teased, and laughed. Before Dennis could try to move, his dad whispered, "Steal your soul.", one more time, which causes Dennis to run off.
Now, Dennis was walking down the halls all worrisome, to which he is scared of everything, from the jack-o'-lanterns to the costumes. "Happy Halloween, Scaredy Bat.", Swifton teased, wearing a witches suit, to which Dennis said, "My name is not Scaredy Bat. It's Dennis Dracula-Lougharn!".
Later, Dennis was in his room with Tinkles. "I just don't get it.", Dennis said, "Every Halloween no matter how hard I try, everybody scares me.". The two were making a huge jack-o'-lantern, and Dennis was doing it from the inside out.
"I'm sick of it.", Dennis said, "No more scaredy bat!". When he sees his jack-o'-lantern, he hides in his closet. Soon, there was a knock on his door. It was Winnie, as she said, "Dennis?".
"Tinkles,", Dennis whispered, "It's Winnie. I'm gonna scare her, it's my turn.". As Dennis was going to scare Winnie, he noticed that Winnie was wearing a mad scientist outfit, and funny glasses that gave Dennis a scare.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare ya.", Winnie said. "Why can't I be scary for once?", Dennis said, asking where's his chance. "Well, if you wanna be scary.", Winnie said, "You need to have a good costume.".
Soon, Dennis got out of the costume, wearing a sheet over his body. At first, Winnie thought that Dennis will be going as a trick or treat bag, however Dennis said, "I'm supposed to be the Ghost of Blackbeard.".
"There's something missing.", said Winnie, and she knew what it was. It was a pair of clogs, however Dennis isn't so sure it would help him be scary.
Soon, there was a knock on Dennis' bedroom door. "Hey, aren't those your cousins?", Winnie said, to which Dennis said they would be easily scared by him. "Trick or Treat!", the costumed trio said, but when Dennis tried to scare them, they just laughed.
"Look!", Conner said, "It's the haunted mattress!". "Okay, here's your candy.", Dennis said all agitated, but the trio just walked off, saying that was enough of a treat.
"I don't get it, Winnie.", Dennis said, slumping on his bed, but when he noticed that Winnie made a paper ghost, that gave him an idea. "That's it, Winnie!", he said, "What's the difference between that ghost and me?".
As Winnie tried to guess, she started to sweat, due to her constantly looking back and forth between the ghost and Dennis. Soon, Dennis told her the answer.
"I have hair that stands out, and a ghost has a round head.", Dennis said, "All we need to do is make my head round, and BOO, I'm scary!".
Soon, Dennis and Winnie were in the bathroom, to which it is now designed to look like a barbershop. "Okay, you ready?", Winnie said, to which Dennis holding up the ghost said, "Remember, like this.".
"Are you sure you want to do this?", Winnie asked, making sure that Dennis is sure, to which he is. "Okay, let's get to it.", Winnie said, as she was now being Dennis' hairdresser.
Soon, Dennis was done, to which he said, "What'd you think?". "Perfect!", Winnie said, noticing that Dennis now looks like the paper ghost, "Now that's scary!". As she puts on her glasses, Winnie said, "Let's go scare somebody.".
Soon, Dennis and Winnie were going through the halls in their Halloween costumes. "I'm the Ghost of Blackbeard!", Dennis said in an eerie voice, while Winnie said, "I don't know who I am!", in a similar tone.
Soon, they went up to a door, and it opened to reveal a fly guy. "Roar!", Dennis said, "I'm the Ghost of Blackbeard!", with Winnie adding, "I am the Ghost of Blackbeard's best friend!". They soon ran off, with the fly guy asking, "Hey, don't you kids want your candy?".
The two soon hid behind a garbage can, and Winnie said that Dennis' costume really packs a punch, and that he scared the fly guy. "Who should we scare next?", Dennis soon asked.
"Well, there's a whole party just full of people in the hotel's ballroom.", Winnie said, "And the Ghost of Blackbeard is going to show up uninvited.". Looking out from the can, Winnie soon saw Dennis' cousins. "Here come your cousins again.", she said.
As Dennis tried to scare them, he said, "I'm the Ghost of Blackbeard.", and then ran off, with Winnie running behind him. "Wasn't that the haunted mattress?", Parker asked, to which Troy said, "Maybe he's demoted to a haunted sleeping bag.".
At the party, everyone was having fun bobbing for apples, chatting with friends, and showing them their costumes. Dennis however, had an even spookier plan, to which Winnie helped.
With a rope tied around his waist, he told Winnie, "Kill the lights!", to which everything went black. Now using a megaphone, Winnie said, as she is lowering down Dennis, "I'm the Ghost of Blackbeard!".
"Give me your souls!", she continued, but then a fly flew in front of Winnie, and landed on her nose. Winnie soon sneezed, causing her to loose her grip on the rope, but managed to grab it again, however it was too late.
"Hey,", Troy said, "That's no ghost! That's Dennis!". Everyone soon laughed at this sight, as Winnie said through the megaphone, "I am not Dennis, those are my street clothes.".
Soon a menacing voice screamed, "Enough!", and everyone stared at the green smoke surrounding the door, before revealing a pirate ghost. "It's the REAL Ghost of Blackbeard!", Dracula said, as he fainted into Mavis's arms.
"You bet your lily-livers, I am the Ghost of Blackbeard. And I'll let you on a little secret.", he said, "I'm going to steal your souls!". This caused everyone to scream with horror, but Blackbeard soon shouted, "QUIET!".
"You had it coming you big crybabies.", the ghost pirate said. "Every year, people dressed up like me...", he said, which caused Johnny to sheepishly take off his costume, "Turn the Ghost of Blackbeard into a laughing stock!". "But that's not the reason I'm taking your souls.", he continued.
"THIS is the straw that broke the camel's back.", the Ghost of Blackbeard said, referring to Dennis. "Out of all the ghost pirate costumes I've seen.", the ghost pirate continued, "Yours is the most insulting!".
"Does that mean I'm not scary.", Dennis said, to which the Ghost of Blackbeard said, "You?!?! Scary?!?!". After helping Dennis down from the rope, he told him that there's all types of scary, including spiders and Blackbeard himself. However, he soon said that Dennis is not scary, and is going to resume what he is going to do.
"First,", he said, "I have to get rid of this stupid costume!". But when Blackbeard took the costume off, he soon noticed something that gave him a scare, and flew off. Dennis was now revealed to be bald, and somehow, has an exposed brain.
"Hey, what do you know!", Dennis said with glee, "I scared him.". Soon, everyone got scared of Dennis, and ran out of the ballroom.
"It worked, Winnie.", Dennis said, "I scared everybody!". "Yeah,", Winnie said, saying that it was because of Dennis' pink hat. "Pink hat?", Dennis said, noticing what Winnie means, "Oh, that's not a hat. That is my brain.".
"Oh.", Winnie said, before screaming and running off too. "Don't worry, it grows back!!", Dennis tried to say.
