Lightning was in his Palace deep in thought organizing his Deck over to make sure it's as strong as it was before to avoid more 'misplays' from happening. He's the supreme being dammit! He isn't gonna let these 'misplays' his opponents make from happening, and fate giving him an easy way to supremacy rather then him proving himself!
"Lightning." Harlin's voice mentioned suddenly. "It seems... SOL Technologies made a strong move."
Lightning stopped what he's doing as his Deck vanished turning over. "What did they do?"
"One of the Inner Circle challenged one of Playmaker's allies... Yugo and defeated him in the duel." Harlin replied. "It seemed... rather easy for him as well."
"Easy? Explain." Knowing how strong the Inner Circle is, Lightning is intrigued to hear that they didn't had trouble against the Lancers but that seemed a bit suspicious cause Yugo is a really powerful duelist in his own right.
"Yugo was defeated in just two moves." Harlin answered showing Lightning the duel.
Lightning checked over the duel, and frowns upon watching the end. "Bishop was pathetic. Always taking how he's above the Lancers but Yugo clearly had an advantage, and he didn't use it?"
"Lose the battle to win the war perhaps?" Harlin suggested. "Throw one duel to gather information and then win the next match?"
Lightning scoffed over from this. "Pathetic. This defeat sets them back as they will use this to improve there Pawn Drones so they should've defeated Bishop instead of losing on purpose."
"Then what should our next move be?" Bohman inquired appearing next to Harlin with a frown.
"Send out a Bit, and Boot to test them out." Lightning ordered over to them. "Set off all termination protocols so they won't escape like before."
"Understood." Harlin nodded vanishing as Bohman frowned.
"Lightning... are you going to confront Playmaker yourself?" he asked him.
"As he is the origin of Ai, and probably the largest threat, it'll make since in my plan to eliminate the strongest links, and secure my future as the ruler." Lightning stated over.
Bohman nodded calmly before vanishing leaving Lightning alone again, though the fact that he only won against Celina because of a "Misplay" was still echoing in his mind.
"Ridiculous... no misplay was the reason why I won! I won through my skill, and destined to be the ruler!" He raised his head to yell above. "HEY! YOU ALL HEAR ME!? NO MISPLAY WON THAT MATCH! I WON IT MYSELF WITH MY SKILL, AND TALENT NO MISPLAY WAS INVOLVED!"
"Who cares how you won, they'll all be dead soon anyway." Windy pointed out wearing an eyepatch and a cloak. "Just like I'll have my own revenge on those wretched humans... starting with my origin and that vampire bitch who did this to me."
Lightning takes a break to calm himself. "Sota had been busy lately so don't take him lightly. Remember if you get infected a second time, I'm not sure I can restore you like before."
"It won't happen again." Windy told Lightning before frowning. "And what about his father... King? How conceited is that human?"
"King's been busy for something. If he sent Bishop, then something must've been happening ahead of schedule." Lightning admitted over from this. "His firewalls, and programs are too strong for me break to figure out what exactly."
"Well, we'll deal with him once the traitors are dealt with." Windy mentioned with a cruel glare. "Why don't we send our own message to the humans?"
"Bit and Boot are already getting that done. You can send what you want through them." Lightning stated over towards him.
Windy nodded at that. "Good."
They turned back to the orb watching on ahead waiting for what's next.
Meanwhile...
Yugo had been yelled at by Kenneth for a while but he ultimately managed to convince him that his Accel Synchro secret weapon was worth keeping hidden for the moment. Still Kenneth was plenty frustrated with that idea over but not as vocal as he was before with crossed arms while Misaki takes his arm to try calming him down.
"So... what now?" Lulu asked the group.
"We founded out quite a bit about the Inner Circle. Right now we can't expect the rest of them to be as easy as Bishop was." Declan stated over towards everyone.
"That makes sense, we need to be careful when we duel them again." Yuya agreed only to sigh. "Still, I wonder what they're up to."
"And that this defeat will set you all back." Kenneth is still a negative nancy about this. "They probably uploaded the duel onto there Pawn Drones by now improving there skillset."
"So... they uploaded a duel where I held back on purpose, and didn't show my real skills? That means they'll be easier to defeat so that's a good thing." Yugo pointed out. "If I used my Accel Synchro or my new strongest monster they'd come up with plans to counter them, which they can't do now."
"No they know how aggressive you are, and how pathetic Bishop was so that they learned for them to be much less time consuming." Kenneth stated over. "As in take more time to defeat there opponents rather then go for big combos, and from the little they got from your current skillset, they prepare countermeasures. Understand this defeat will set you all back, which is why for now on be serious to defeat the Inner Circle instead of losing on purpose to get information it'll have more drastic consequences."
Suddenly Sylvio blinked. "Huh, the Hanoi are messaging us."
Hearing that they all turned over where Declan stated to Sylvio. "Play it."
It was a video message from Faust.
"Celina is safe and with us, but Ryoken and Lilly are working on something so any information goes to Sachiko for the foreseeable future."
"Okay so she's safe from what Lightning had in mind." Yuya nodded over hearing that. "Still we better be more careful."
"Definitely, but why are Ryoken and Lilly busy? What are they doing?" Yuto asked in confusion. "Is it some kind of program?"
"I doubt it, Lilly's not as good with computers as Cal or Yusaku." Yuri answered.
Suddenly something else pinged which Sylvio checked over, and blinked. "Two of Lightning's troops is out in the open."
"This time, you better not waste any time and go easy on..." Kenneth started before...
"Into the VRAINS!"
Hearing that they turned over seeing Riley herself.
"Riley?" Declan questioned in shock seeing that she had logged into Link VRAINS.
Meanwhile...
Bit, and Boot having already combined into BitBoot flew around Link VRAINS looking for the Lancers within the server.
"I can't locate any of them, perhaps they were already scared off?" Bit suggested.
"Well, we still need to... huh, what's that?" Boot questioned as they noticed a girl with long light purple hair, yellow draconic looking eyes, wearing what looked like a regal outfit with four dragon designs, a white one, a black one, a purple one, and a red one on her torso racing towards them.
BitBoot dodged the collision turning over as she turned over flying behind them on a Duel Board.
"So your a Lancer then?" Bit asked her.
"Technically no, I'm not." she answered. "You can call me Dragon Empress."
"So what does that make you some type of helper?" Boot questioned over.
"I'm the origin of the Lancers, the reason they were formed." Dragon Empress stated calmly.
"The origin? Then by extension we defeat you, they'll buckle down." Bit said over as BitBoot readied his Duel Disk. "Prepare for the last duel of your life."
"Fine, a Speed Duel then?" Dragon Empress asked them.
They nodded as they flew off to start the Speed Duel.

Purple Position meditated before shattering like Black Fang as an aura appeared around Chronograph Sorcerer.

In the real world Riley opened her eyes, only they weren't blue like usual they were yellow.
"Hey Riley why'd you go in like that?" Cal asked over towards her. "And where did you get that-"
"No." the ones who don't know blinked at Declan who's glasses went over a glint. "This isn't Riley right now. It's another soul within her..." The light faded as Riley was reflected off his glasses. "Isn't that right, Zarc?"
"As clever as always, yes." Riley, or Zarc, replied calmly. "I owe you and Yuya quite a bit for what you did all those years ago."
"Wait... what's going on here?" Misaki asked confused for this.
"That's... a very long story, but the short answer is Zarc's soul is inside Riley and Yuya dueled Declan to purify it by making her laugh." Sylvio answered.
"And it was hard work." Yuya admitted over from this before waving over. "Good to see you again this time on our side Zarc."
Zarc nodded with a smile. "I'm fortunate that Link VRAINS uses a card database, I can use my dragons even though you physically possess them."
"So are you able to switch with Riley at will or does it happen anytime?" Yugo asked over remembering the times Zarc took over them before, and now wonders if this is the same or they can switch Riley's body at will.
"We have to agree." Zarc answered calmly.
"From what you told us..." Theodore looks a little nervous. "He's... on our side this time right? Not out for more conflict?"
"He's on our side." Yuya smiled only for Zarc to smirk. "That said, we do have a small bit of payback we both want."
"What sort of... payback?" Miyu softly asked.
Zarc turned to Declan. "A duel with you, actually... Riley's the one who wants a rematch after your last duel in the Fusion Dimension. Not now, but once everything's calmed down."
Declan nodded over agreeing before he stated over. "Well it be good to have you on our side Zarc against Lightning, and SOL Technologies."
"Yeah, I agree completely." Yuya smiled.
"But now that Zarc is here, and dueled against then no doubt Lightning will think of something else." Zaizen stated over towards them. "Not to mention what else will-"
Ding Ding Ding!
Sylvio's computer started beeping.
"What now?" Zuzu asked turning to the computer.
They checked over where they see someone just appeared someone from a data storm tornado.
It was the scarred Windy standing alone in a desolate plain with crossed arms.
"Windy!" Ai cried seeing him.
Hearing the name Kenneth's eyes instantly narrowed. "So this was the Ignis that nearly killed Sota? Send me in, I'll finish what the Hanoi have started to it!"
"Don't be stupid." Sylvio told him. "You're in no condition to duel."
"Moron, I haven't dueled yet, so how I am not in any condition?" Kenneth glared over which served a good point Kenneth haven't had a chance to duel yet so that wasn't a fair reason why he should be excluded.
"I don't mean that, I mean mentally." Sylvio pointed out. "Yes, you're an extremely skilled duelist and like Misaki told Yusaku you would be a great opponent for him, but you're not thinking straight... you hate the Ignis, and that's the one that hurt Sota which is making you even angrier and that leads to mistakes... mistakes Windy can and will take advantage of."
"Now listen here you-" Feeling a hand on his shoulder Kenneth turned a glare at Misaki.
Misaki stared over at him before stating over. "Kenny, I get what your feeling but try to calm down. Even if he tried to kill him, Windy is still Sota's Ignis, something created from him at the past. It's Sota's right to decide what to do with him... I'm sure he wouldn't want you to kill the very thing that his past is about."
Kenneth glared over but took a minute to absorb his wife's words before he slowly took a deep breath taking her advice to heart.
"Besides." Sylvio continued with a grin. "I never said you shouldn't duel, just that you should maybe calm down a little first. There's plenty of opponents for you to take down."
"Should we let Sota know before then?" Yuya suggested over.
"Yeah, we should." Miyu nodded.
"If we can, his parents are making him work all the time." Misaki frowned.
"For what there planning unfortunately." Zaizen frowned over from this.
"Let's attempt at least." Emma said over walking, and making a holographic call.
Meanwhile at SOL Technologies...
Sota sighed exhausted from training against top grade SOL AIs to be ready for his part having just won a duel while also juggling in his studies/hacking abilities before he received something. "Huh?" He sees it's a holographic call from Ghost Gal which he answered over as the screen appeared. "Hello?"
"Hi Sota, how's everything going?" she asked him.
"Tiresome to say the least." Sota sighed really exhausted. "Father had been making sure, I train against the very best dueling AIs SOLs had to offer, and practice with my studies, and hacking. I was about to be on break anyway."
"Well... we just saw Windy, the Wind Ignis is in Link VRAINS right now." Emma mentioned to him.
"What? My Ignis is there right now after what the Hanoi done?" After checking over Hanoi Virus' Sota is sure that Windy would take more time to be restored but hearing he's back on his feet so quickly is surprising. Then again Windy is Sota's Ignis so that's to be expected. "...How is he? Is he okay?" Even after hearing that it was Windy who tried to murder him, Sota is concerned for him after his near death experience from the Hanoi.
"Not great, he has what looks like an eyepatch and a cloak holding his data together but I can't be sure without going in. What do you want to do?" Emma asked him knowing that Sota was a kind person.
Sota looks deep in thought over what to do before making a decision getting up looking at Emma. "I'm heading in to talk to him myself. Maybe, I can convince him to leave Lightning, and join our side... besides if the need is to stop him... I'm the one who should do so. And this is the perfect excuse... Father wants me to have the Ignis for myself so... me leaving to confront Windy be the right excuse why I suddenly need to go." He looks serious to kill Windy if needed but he wants to give Windy a chance to change his alliegance before then.
"Sota... do you need anyone to go in with you?" Emma asked softly. "The four of us can be there to support you if you want."
Sota looked down from that closing his eyes, and looked. "Please... I don't think... I can confront Windy who's my past incarnate by myself..."
"Of course, we'll be there with you." Emma smiled gently. "See you soon Sota."
She ended the call at that leaving Sota by himself. Sota stared off before wiping his eyes walking out heading out to the Inner Circle's office to chat about this sudden decision before then so they won't get suspicious, and think he's a traitor.
"...and from there, we can manage to complete the Pawn Drones from this victory where the Lancers will stand little-" Sota knocked loudly on the door which interrupted Black talking as he asked irritated. "What, who is it!?"
"It's me, Black." Sota announced over.
"Sota, what are you doing you should be practicing." Queen's voice told him.
An employee opened the door as Sota bowed to the Inner Circle walking in. "Sorry to bother you all at this hour-"
"Just make your report."
Sota cleared his throat from Bishop ordering him. "Yeah of course... well while I was practicing... I gotten a message. A message from Ghost Gal... she informed me one of the Ignis is in Link VRAINS by itself."
King's eyes widened. "One of the Ignis? Which one?"
"...The one who's is based off of me. The WIND Ignis." Sota answered over. "The one who has the master degree of Data, and the Data Storms. Hanoi left a mark to where he barely survived termination from there virus. If I go in right now, and claim him, it'll prevent the Hanoi from trying again, and we be one step closer for me to complete my role as Link VRAINS' God. So I need to go right now, and get him by myself."
King listened before closing his eyes. "Very well, go."
"King sir?" Lancelot asked shocked. "I must protest about this! He is not ready, he will let his feelings cloud his objective! Let me, and Alexander get this Ignis by ourselves!"
"Lancelot you heard him. This is Prince's battle." Alexander had a different opinion. "The Hanoi almost killed that Ignis, and if it's data control is really as he said, we won't stand a chance. He's also who has the most experience with the Ignis then we do so it's right he heads in himself to capture this Ignis."
"I still don't think he is ready for it." Lancelot tries to point out.
"If it were a different Ignis I would agree, however this is one battle that Sota is more qualified for than you Lancelot." King stated. "The Wind Ignis... Sota knows this one better than any of the others. Though Sota, I will not tolerate failure, am I clear?"
"Perfectly." Sota bowed over before heading out nodding his head.
When he left King smirked over. "Besides... if he isn't willing to do his objective, I already have a backup in place." That made everyone blink but didn't say anything.
Meanwhile with Ryoken, and Lilly...
Lilly let out a sigh as she had just finished another duel, this time working on a more defensive strategy using Invoked Mechaba as she frowned walking over to Ryoken. "How is it going? Is the Ignis doing well?"
Ryoken checked over the status over as he typed in the codes, and other things before voicing over. "Going over well. Close to being completed. Very soon it will be born."
Lilly nodded at that before turning to him before pausing and blushing a bit.
"I think if my estimations are correct, one more match should finish it." Ryoken said over to her. "We will take a break before then." He then turned over towards her. "Is something wrong?"
"Well, I know it's not really... like normal but... this is kind of like, our baby isn't it?" Lilly asked blushing.
Ryoken turned back over towards the nearly finished Ignis before closing his eyes. "To be honest... I'm afraid."
"I know, but it'll work out." she whispered gently taking his hand. "We're doing this the right way this time."
Ryoken turned over before stating over. "Not what your thinking. Not of the Ignis."
Lilly blinked before her eyes widened. "Ryoken..."
"Our future." Ryoken confirmed what she's thinking. "I'm hardly the fatherly type, and I had gotten my father arrested cause of guilt from my childlike nature. Then it indirectly lead to his death from him giving himself those months ago. How can I trust myself... if we do have a child?"
Frowning Lilly turned him from the computer and kissed him. "Because you care, and I won't let anything bad happen to our child Ryoken... we'll do this together, I promise."
Ryoken stared over before closing his eyes with a grin. "You know... if it was anyone else telling me that, I'd had them locked away in Link VRAINS with no chance of getting out."
Lilly couldn't help but smile at that before closing her eyes with a blush. "When we finish dealing with SOL... let's try ok?"
He looked over at her from that. "Before we wed?"
She blinked before blushing. "Sorry, I think talking about that got me ahead of myself. I do want to have a family with you one day."
Kissing him again she stretched. "Well, time to finish up right?"
Ryoken nodded over saying over to her. "Yes. This could be the last duel to give this Ignis, the life it needs."
Lilly nodded before taking a breath and logging back into Link VRAINS.
Meanwhile in Link VRAINS...
The four which were Ghost Gal, the Shepherd, White Tiger, and Zaizen were waiting before Sota in a new avatar appeared over. "Sorry. Were you all waiting long?"
"No, we just logged in a few moments ago." Zaizen told him. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah."
"Good cause... what are you wearing?" the Shepherd asked over.
Sota's new avatar shows of a royal like blue, and green robe with a long dark purple cape with regal like boots, and fingerless green gloves. On his head is a small golden, and jewel encrusted crown, and having the logo for SOL on his cape. They also notice he doesn't have the scar he gotten from the accident.
"Oh... this is an avatar coding that father gave me to have." Sota said over towards them. "And... instead of Prince or Emperor here, just refer me as God."
Zaizen frowned slightly hearing that.
"Well, no offense but you look... really tacky." Ghost Gal admitted.
"Is that good or bad?" Sota asked her.
"It's... bad, sorry Sota but it's just bad." White Tiger frowned. "Well, are you ready because he's just up ahead."
God nodded taking a breath. With that the five of them walked to where Windy was waiting. Soon they arrived at the wasteland where he's awaiting with crossed arms where God can see the damage Windy sustained, and hid a wince.
"He tried to kill you, he deserves worse." Shepherd frowned.
They walked over where Windy spot them glaring over. "Well well... some convoys from SOL. I'd expected nothing less from there top Bounty Hunters, the Security Manager, and..." He looked over towards God. "Whoever he is."
"It's been a really long time Windy." God mentioned respectfully.
"Hm?" Windy raised up his bandage eye hearing that. "Do I know you?"
"Briefly..." God answered over to him. "We never interacted fully but you had encountered me once all those years ago... when you tried to remove me."
From that Windy's eyes narrowed to a hateful stare. "So... it is true. You've SURVIVED..." So much venom, disgust, and hate was poured from those words which made God flinch. "I don't know how you managed to make it past that experience... but it does let me know your a hella lot tougher then you look despite being in daddy, and mommy's good graicies."
Shepherd clenched his fists at that but White Tiger put a hand on his shoulder to hold him back.
"Windy... why did you try and kill me?" God asked him.
"Well I'd suppose that be a fair question why I done you in." Windy stated over to him. "Cause your annoying. Simple as that. Annoying. Revolting even. Why would I waste my life with a partner when I can do whatever I want."
"But... I don't nothing to you. What did I do against you?"
"You existed. We Ignis are destined to rule over humans, and you'll just gonna hold me back." Windy answered with no remorse. "So I decided to nib the problem at the bud which as I am seeing didn't work. No matter I won't be lazy the second time."
God frowned at that. "So you're going to try and kill me again?"
"What did it sound like?"
God flinched before stating over. "Windy... I still don't understand why you, and Lightning are doing this... but there's still a chance for you to stop. I believe in co-existence between both us Humans, and Ignis. So please stop this, I don't want to force my hand."
"Co-exist? With you? Humans?" Windy gagged. "Just the thought of me makes me want to puke. Please spare the trouble of talking. I'm not going to change my mind... not after what the Hanoi, HUMANS did to me!" He gestured towards his scarred, damaged form, "How can I possibly think of trusting you when you did this to me!?"
God flinched over from this again that his inability to act at that time lead to his Ignis nearly getting killed.
"You both suffered at the hands of the other one so you should be able to understand each other and prevent this kind of tragedy from repeating itself." White Tiger pointed out. "You both survived, which means you can move forward together, you can be a source of strength for each other."
"Hm?" Windy raised an eyebrow over towards the people behind God.
"She's right, you both nearly died but you managed to survive... and you can work together to help humanity and the Ignis to co-exist... think about the DARK Ignis, the FIRE Ignis, and the WATER Ignis." Zaizen noted.
"Why should I care what those defects think?" Windy asked glaring over. "They have a chance to be superior with us, and they thrown it away... for the sake of humans!" He raised his arm as a generated data storm flew around them. "No! I'm not weak! I'm sure as hell am NOT weak like you all! Once, I'm done disposing of my origin all of you all starting with that vampire bitch is next!"
"Windy... please." God tried one last time to reason with his Ignis. "We don't have to fight... I don't want to fight you, I want us to be able to co-exist."
Windy glared over towards God as they stared at each other to where for a second God notices Windy's exposed eye turned a deep blue back to red before he stated over towards God. "I don't think so... right here, and right now... this battle will decide who gets to walk away." With that winds generated an Echo who Windy perched on it's arm.
God looked surprised before frowning. "Then, if its a duel you want... I'll prove to you in our match that we can co-exist."
With those words he activated his own Duel Disk.
"DUEL!"
bopdog111: Not gonna lie, been waiting for this match here. Sota won't be using his World Legacy Deck quite yet though.
