Makoto Naegi: Escaping the Prison Chapter 1

Route:- Lawyered Up

After have a good examination on the items in the cake Makoto made his decision "Okay then hopefully nothing bad happens"

"If something does I will rewind it for use to try again" Nicole said

Makoto nods and picks up….

NrG Drink

Makoto picks up the NrG drink bottle which was blue and looks at it "Hmmmmm sure this is safe?" he asked concerned

"I don't know, I will find out what I can" Nicole said getting on the database

"Well...I best try it" Makoto said uncapping the bottle and downs the whole bottle as he heart rate was going fast and a vaine appered on his forhead. Once he was done his heart rate could no longer be heard and it seemed all of time was stood still

"This is odd...I wonder" Makoto said and pushes the bar of his cell and it bends wide enough for him to walk out. "Great, perfect."

He exits his cell and walks down the hall and comes up to Scout and Gumshoe frozen in place much like everything else and Makoto smirks. He picks up Scout's body, time for some petty revenge.

He carries Scout out into the main room of the station and seeing a nearby bin dumps Scout's body, head first, into it. "That's for that petty joke you did!" Makoto said

Makoto then walks along through the station with the cops none the wiser. He spots Officer Wiggum sitting at his desk about to eat a doughnut. He takes the doughnut and eats it himself as he continues

The boy reaches the front door and forces it open and steps out "Finally, sweet freedom" Makoto said and takes a deep thread, suddenly his heart rate goes superfast and Makoto clutches his chest having a heartattack and falls over onto the ground

"I fount it….ohhhh" Nicole said seeing the sight "Yeah….'NrG: Side Effects include: Nausea, Headaches, Rapid Heartbeat, and possibilities of Stroke and/ or Heart Attack.'" She said reading what she found on the site for the drink "Hmm... Well that's good to know." she then resets everything

Cellphone

Makoto picks up the cellphone and looks at the contacts it was divided with 7 groups Family, Friends, Co-Workers, Attorneys, Morticians, Babysitters, and Banks. Whoever owned this phone knew a lot of people

"I guess I can try and get a lawyer to prove my innocents" Makoto said thinking on it

"Innocences for a crime you did commit" Nicole points out

"I think I know someone, let's see if he is on the phone" Makoto said and checks the Lawyer's contacts and sure enough there he was a P. Wright as in Phoenix Wright "Good, we might be saved" He said and selects him to call

September 29th, 12:53PM

Distrct Court

Courtroom No. 4

Phoenix Wright accepted Makoto's case, of course Makoto embellished it saying they had no idea how they ended up in the Vault in the first place just look as innocent. Makoto hated to lie but it was needed

The rival Prosecutor was none other then Winston Payne an occasional rival for Phoenix. They were in the middle of Leon's testimony

The Judge hammers his gavel and said "Mr. Kwata, please continue your testimony"

"You got it Judge dude" Leon said with nod and goes into his Witness Testimony "I was relaxing riding around with my partner in the armoured van, until suddenly...we spotted a money bag on the side of the road. We got out to investigate and thinking one of Mr. McDuck's earlier deposits got lost we threw it in with the others. We had no idea someone let alone an old school pal like Makoto was hiding inside it..."

"OBJECTION!" Phoenix calls out doing his trademark pose. He then asked "So the defendant hid himself in that bag in order to rob the bank. Is that what we're going with?"

"I know you're slow sometimes Wright but even a child can see that it's obvious" Winston said with a smirk of arrogance.

"Is it really obvious?" Phoenix said and smiles "I have proof that the defendant did not hide himself in that bag"

"Well then Mr. Wright, present this evidence already" The Judge said wanting to see it

Phoenix checks the court record in it he had his attorney badge, the bag disguise, floor plans to the bank, the Teleporter, security tape of the day of the crime and a doctor's analysis on Makoto which states he suffered cuts and bruises only one of these was the item he needed

Any Item other then the right one (See below for it)

"TAKE THAT!" Phoenix said presenting one of the items

The Judge confused asked "What is this?"

"Why it's evidence your honour" Phoenix said smiling proud

"I see that and...how does this prove anything?" The Judge asked confused still

Phoenix looks down knowing he screwed up and said "Well I….I was just joking let me try..."

The Judge unamused bangs his gavel "This is no times for jokes Mr. Wright. I personally see no reason to prolong this trial." He looks at Makoto who himself was looking very worried "I find the defendant Makoto Naegi…."

The world 'GUILTY' appears on the screen

Nicole faces palms and asks "What kind of third-rate lawyer did you hire?" she then resets it

The Disguising Bag

"TAKE THAT!" Phoenix yells out presenting the money bag.

"Wait...is that the bag the defendant hid in?" The Judge asked surprised

"Indeed it is, but for a while something has been bothering me. If the defendant really was hiding in the bag..." He slams his hands on the table before doing his trademark pointing pose "How did he tie the knot from the outside of the bag?!"

"What?!" Winston said taking aback by that sudden question

"If he was inside the bag, it would logically be impossible for him to tie the knot from the outside!" Phoenix said to explain his reasoning

"Then...how did he do it?" The Judge asked confused which usually wasn't new in these turnabout cases

"Why there is a simple answer...he didn't" Phoenix said with a smirk

"What?" Winston said sweating a bit and slams his fist on his desk "What are you saying?"

"I am saying that Makoto wasn't hiding in the bag at all, he was stuffed in there...by this very witness!" Phoenix states firmly

Leon who was posing a bit for the girls in the audience stands was shocked hearing this "Wait...WHAT!?" he screamed out horrified

Phoenix presents the doctor's analysis and explained "As you can see by this doctor's analysis, the defendant took quite the beating. While he was in the bag, he was unconscious!"

"This...this is absolutely absurd!" Winston said unable to think of a counter for this

Phoenix continued to explain "Leon Kwata admitted to having some beaf back in Hopes Peak which he claims is over but it obviously wasn't so this was his revenge. He attempted to dispose of the body, so he left the defendant in the bag, knowing he would drive by on the way back to the bank. When the witness and his partner passed the bag, he convinced his partner to throw the bag in with the others."

"But, why would he do that?" The Judge asked intrigued

"As I said, to dispose of the body of course" Phoenix said smiling "Scrooge McDuck is one of the richest people around so he has millions of money bags in that bank and the witness knew it would take a long time before the victim was found, and if he was no doubt Scrooge McDuck will be the first person the investigators will look to. However, unfortunately for Leon..."

Phoenix then plays the security tape of Makoto getting out of the bag and triggering the alarm before continuing "...his victim woke up and tried to escape from his tomb. He was arrested on the spot and Leon thought everything was over. But it's coming back to haunt him now!"

"You can't...he can't…." Leon said panicking he knew this wasn't true but the argument was so convincing he grips his hair screaming "NONONONONO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO MEEEEEE!"

A while later Cleveland was interviewed by the bailiffs during a brief 5 minute recess, unfortunately for Leon's case he was on his own during the journey from the bank, Cleveland joined him from the money pick up point and Leon was the one to say they just put it in the back.

After the trial resumed the Judge still in disbelief said satisfied with the results "Well, this has been an interesting trial. However I am ready to deliver my verdict" He looks to Makoto who is smiling and giving Phoenix the thumbs up "I finds the defendant Makoto Naegi..."

The Words 'Not Guilty' appear over him

Makoto met up with Hiro outside the courthouse happy it was over. Hiro smiling said "Oh great buddy, nice that you got an innocent verdict!"

"Maybe but, we kind of framed an innocent man to do it" Nicole points out

"Ah don't worry about it, pretty sure he will be alright" Hiro said with a smile

"So what now?" Makoto asked not sure what to do next

"Well...we kind of still need money to live by and for rent" Hiro admits to Makoto and if by some very good coincidence an armoured van passed them

"Well...that is lucky" Nicole said

Hiro looks guilty at Makoto "Look, I know you just got out, I will do this one dude" He reaches for the watch

Makoto stops him "No...I will do it, I may not have wanted to do this but you are right I am the only one with the luck and somewhat weird skills to do this, plus me and Nicole make a good team"

"You sure?" Hiro asked wanting to be sure

"Positive" Makoto said and runs off to chase the armoured van in order to get the money inside it
