Sunday afternoon, September 3

"Ugh, I can't believe we have to choose our hero names this early! I don't even have any ideas! Do you?" Karakara whined, flopping down on his bed. He had been whining ever since the class found out they'd have to come up with hero names.

"Sorry bro, I don't have any ideas." Sakane said. He was sitting at his desk when Karakara walked in.

"I didn't mean ideas for me, I meant ideas for you." Karakara said.

"Oh, in that case I do." Sakane said, turning in his chair.

Karakara looked at him, waiting for his answer to the question.

Ugh, why does he have to be so pushy about this. Sakane thought. He hadn't thought of any good hero names, but that wasn't the matter. The matter was that Karakara hadn't put his contacts in and instead wore his glasses. The thin black-rimmed glasses that he wore started falling off his face.

"Dude, your glasses." Sakake said, pointing to Karakara's face. Karakara was lying upside down and his glasses were hanging on by a thread.

"Oh, they're falling off. Just let that happen." Karakara said happily. After a few seconds the glasses fell to the floor. "I was thinking the name 'Pop Rock' would be a cool hero name for you."

"That's literally just the name of my quirk."

"Fair enough."

"My idea was 'Bakuhatsu'. It means 'Explosion.'"

"That sounds cool!" Karakara exclaimed, turning over. His phone fell to the floor and turned on, revealing his lock screen.

"Dude, am I actually the photo on your lock screen?" Sakane asked, standing up out of his chair to get a closer look.

"I know I'm your lock screen photo, so why wouldn't you be mine? Also, I have it on a shuffle so whenever I want I can change the photo." Karakara explained, grabbing his phone off the floor. He tapped on the screen and the photo changed. There was never the same photo. Sakane knew that Karakara had a lot of pictures of him in his phone but he never knew there were this many. Karakara stopped at a picture of Sakane at the pride festival.

"My lock screen is boring." Sakane grumbled, pulling out his phone. He showed Karakara his phone screen. It was a picture of him and Karakara from last Halloween. They were both dressed in costumes like their dads wore, Karakara dressed in a Real Steel costume and Sakane dressed in a Dynamight costume.

"Better than mine." Karakara sighed.

"Yours is a photo shuffle! I haven't even figured out how to do that yet." Sakane exclaimed, trying to make Karakara feel better. Then, a cloud of glitter burst through their door.

"Bonjour! Guess what Monsieur Sakane?" Yasue yelled. He was dressed very extravagantly.

"What, Frenchie." Sakane said, angry that Yasue didn't knock.

"It's my birthday!" Yasue exclaimed, throwing his arms in the air, spreading more glitter everywhere.

"You're cleaning up this glitter, Y'know." Sakane growled. He liked his room clean and tidy, especially glitterless.

Yasue then left, realizing the crime he just committed.

At this point in time, all of Class 1-A knew that messing with Sakane or Karakara is not a good idea. In the instance that it wasn't known that Sakane was the son of the number two hero, Dynamight, a lot of teasing went around about how easy it was to provoke Sakane.

Sakane and Karakara followed Yasue downstairs, where Aizawa was talking to the rest of the class.

"The UA Sports Festival is tomorrow, start preparing yourselves. Many of you must have watched the previous years where there were three different activities, but this year we're only doing one. Over the course of the day, the first year classes will go head to head in a tournament style battle with their classmates. The chart will be set up where your dorm assignments currently are later today." Aizawa explained. His monotone voice grated over Sakane's ears.

He was used to loud and passionate yelling. Aizawa's tired and comparatively quiet volume was foreign to his ears.

"You know I love a good fight!" Sakane exclaimed, folding his arms.

"You're just like your father." Aizawa sighed.

"Which one?"

"Both of them."

Over the course of the rest of the day, Class 1-A waited in anticipation of who they would be fighting. They predicted that Kobayashi would win, without knowing he had chosen not to fight. Actually, he was forced not to fight. He had an unfair advantage with his quirk being one of the most powerful in the world.

Then, the tournament standings were finally posted.

Fight 1: Saza Sero and Sakane Kirishima

Fight 2: Azul Tokoyami and Yagami Kiyohira

Fight 3: Aoi Yaoyorozu and Tsuchiya Shinsou

Fight 4: Amari Ojiro and Sasaki Sero

Fight 5: Arashiro Tadamichi and Karakara Tetsutetsu

Fight 6: Yasue Aoyama and Aki Iida

Fight 7: Maki Sero and Uchida Midoriya

Fight 8: Shishikudo Monoma and Miyabe Todoroki

Chose not to Fight:

Kobayashi Takami-Todoroki

Izumi Midoriya

Koki Sato

Yamauchi Ume

"So Kobayashi isn't fighting." Aoi said, reading the list again.

"Now I think Maki is gonna win, her quirk is insane. Corrosive sticky acid? Incredibly powerful." Uchida said, pointing out the possibility.

Sakane walked up to the list and saw he was in the first fight.

"Oi, elbows, what's your quirk?" Sakane asked Saza.

Saza's quirk was an odd one. He could shoot tape from his elbows, and that tape was some heavy duty stuff.

"My quirk is tape. Y'know the hero Cellophane? My quirk is like that." Saza explained, moving his elbow up so Sakane could see.

"Hm. Too easy, I'll win." Sakane scoffed, crossing his arms.

The rest of class 1-A thought about their chances of winning against their opponents. All of them knew that fighting either Uchida or Sakane would be a tough task. They were the sons of heroes in the top ten rankings, they had to have the best training there was.

"If we watch the sports festival, there's a great chance that we'll get the upper hand on that Class 1-A everyone is talking about." Shukishi said, turning in his chair. Sakurai sat on a weathered and torn couch, and the girl sat on a bar stool she had stolen.

"I didn't say I don't want to watch it, I just said I don't want to look at that Tadamichi kid." Sakurai said, turning his head to Shukishi.

"Hey, what if we went there and attacked them? I would bring all my knives so all of you could have one!" The girl squealed, she certainly loved knives.

"Sorry, Hakai. There are no knives involved with this operation." Shukishi said, "Plus, I can just use my fingers as stabbing devices. That's why I keep my fingernails so long."

"We don't need to talk about your fingers, boss." Sakurai said, scrunching his nose. His many piercings glinted in the light of the computer as he turned away from Shukishi. "Hey, where did Fuku go?"

Shukishi turned back to his computer, "I think he went shopping with Iseri."

"Don't you think they shouldn't be out? Those to are villains, there is nothing stopping them from being arrested at any time." Sakurai said.

"Don't worry, they'll be back soon." Hakai said, spinning on her bar stool.

The Phantom Syndicate was made of the most elite Villains and criminals currently known to Japan. Shukishi, the leader, has the quirk Skeleton. He can pull himself apart and sharpen his skin to use his limbs as weapons. Sakurai was the second in command. His quirk, Smokescreen, allows him to create and control smoke. Hakai is quirkless, but absolutely insane. She was admitted into an insane asylum after she was caught in the act of cannibalism.
