Fodlan's Whirlpools Chapter 3:
Naoto's POV
I followed out teacher's orders as I rushed and noticed that Lorenz was forcing Ignatz to attack with him thus breaking formation and I decided to take Lorenz out ASAP. Not only was Lorenz pompous, arrogant, and shallow but he was a threat with that spear so I used Sagigatae to drain him until he fell. He couldn't get close to me but I saw an arrow from Ignats approach me too late.
It would have been too late but his arrow broke as I saw another arrow. It didn't take me long to see that Bernadetta had sniped that arrow down that was aimed at me. Before I could actually congratulate Bernie, she started to shoot at Ignatz as he was put on the defensive and this forced me to go somewhere else on the battlefield to help. As I ran I could Edelgard Fighting Dimitri.
''Dimitri...let us settle this now'' Edelgard said as she got into her fighting position and Dimitri responded in the same manner.
''Very well. May the best win.'' Dimitri said as he grabbed his spear to go against her ax. The battle started as Dimitri tried to impale her only for Edelgard to dodge to the side as she tried to uppercut Dimitri with her ax. Dimitri dodges by jumping backward before quickly going back in and trying to poke Edelgard a few times. Some blows did connect until Edelgard took a massive overhead swing with her ax as she yelled putting all her strength into the attack.
''Aaarrrggh!' Edelgard screamed as her blow connected and Dimitri had no choice but to block said blow by holding his spear horizontally but it sadly broke as a snapping sound was heard and Dimitri was knocked unconscious and the leader of the Blue Lion was taken out of the Mock Battle.
As I looked around some more, I saw Ingrid attacking Dorothea. Ingrid was trying to close the gap so that Dorothea couldn't use her Magic to attack her. Ingrid then tried many wide swings which Dorothea had to roll under as she rolled backwards to avoid but it did give enough time to cast Thunder on Ingrid. Ingrid actually planted her spear in the ground which the thunder spell was attracted to and then once the shock was dissipated grabbed her spear again and there it towards Dorothea which forced her to roll again only for Ingrid to knock her out via big kick to the guts. Ingrid was panting as she spoke.
''Another rival down... Urrgggh!'' She tried to say as a practice arrow hit her in the stomach forcing her out of the battle which came from Ignatz but as he began to prepare another arrow Ignatz himself was knocked out by Bernadetta used Ignatz's own shot revenge to knock out Ingrid after she took Dorothea before then taking Ignatz out of the picture.
I then took a breather to check on my teammates.
POV Change: Naruto's POV
I ran and slammed a massive gut punch into Dedue but that didn't go so well. He made me eat dirt but I decided to uppercut him back and as I was about to block another of his attacks something happened. A loud yell was heard as Caspar of all people did an overhead smash with his fists on Dedue and it seemed to stagger him as I used the opportunity to try to rasengan him as my clone helped me make. I then rushed at him as I unleashed the technique.
''Take this...Rasengan!'' I said as I slammed the spiraling ball into Dedue. Dedue was sent spiraling but he then grabbed Caspar and threw him at me which I didn't expect as Caspar's face smashed mine which caused my vision to fade to black.
POV Change: Naoto's POV
The voice of the Blade Breaker was heard as he spoke about the Mock battle.
''Alright, the mock battle is taking a bit too long so here's an incoming change into the battle. The first two houses to lose another member will be declared the losers. The battle will keep going until at least one member of each house has been taken out of the battle. Then the remaining house that has the most members wins.'' Jeralt said. The tension was palpable as each house had only four members left and I decided to take out Claude.
I then shot fire at the trees Claude was hiding behind as it got his hiding spot discovered and it wasn't long before Claude tried to shoot me but he was shot by Ashe who seemed to want to protect Mercedes as she was the healer of the Blue Lions. I knew I had to capitalize on that as I shot a thunder spell at Hilda's hand ax which zapped her and Ashe took out Claude as the fire was getting to him and making it harder for him to focus and empty his lungs to take a shot, unlike Ashe who didn't have this problem. The Blade Breaker's voice was heard as he spoke.
''The Golden Deers are out. They are in Third Place. All Golden Deer must vacate the battle.'' He said as I was rushed by Shez using her blade and I was forced to use my sword. She swung her blade horizontally to which I sidestepped before trying to unleash a thrust at her which worked before a purple aura began radiating from her. Her hair had some orange highlights in it as a second blade appeared out of nowhere while some weird glowing marks appeared on her.
''What..?'' I asked only to hear a voice in my head that made me get a hard migraine.
''What are you doing? Use the Keyblades!'' The voice said as I asked myself what were these things before suddenly two new swords that I had never used or seen appeared in my hands. On my left was a sword whose shaft displays two hearts, and its handle bears two angel wings, contrasting the bat wings that comprise the sword's handle. The teeth are fashioned in the shape of the Kanji for "light" (光). On my right was a sword whose is similar in shape to a key, but it was black and had a longer reach. The hilt guard is comprised of two bat-like wings extending downward. The teeth are in the shape of the Kanji for "darkness" (闇). I then stopped myself from thinking as I clashed with Shez which also caught her off-guard like most including Edelgard but Bernadetta was the first to speak up.
''W-What..! Naoto copied Shez but how?'' Bernadetta stammered as even Edelgard spoke up after this.
''Indeed...I knew he had an affinity for Dual Wielding and magic but to this extent?!'' Edelgard said as even Ashe said his piece.
''That is so cool!'' He said over the moon but it was clear that I wasn't gonna last much longer while Shez had more stamina than me. Shez then rushed at me after she complimented me.
''Naoto was it? You know I didn't think I'd meet another swordsman like me here. Out of respect, I'll end this early and without pain.'' Shez said as she rushed but was stopped as our teacher, Byleth appeared and held her arm and used a swinging rope on her knocking Shez unconscious as the Blade Breaker's voice was heard.
''The Blue Lions are out and in Second Place. This means that the winner of the Mock Battle is...The Black Eagle House!'' Jeralt said Edelgard helped me get up as she spoke up.
''Thank you, everyone. It was a hard-fought battle but all of you played your part very well.'' Edelgard said as we all got to the infirmary to get treated.
