Chapter 36: Awakening

Turo and Sada both stood in front of a massive monitor that showed Aeon's point of view in the dark.

"This is a sign that this timeline is going on the right path," Turo said.

"But it's also a sign that we've reached a roadblock." Sada said. "This is the moment when..."

"Yes. when that happens. But we planned for this. We'll see what the future holds now that we've prepared for what's to come..." Turo said.

WARNING! PERMANENT DESTRUCTION MAY BE IMMINENT! SHUT DOWN-

While the boy was preoccupied with hearing the alarm in his head-Bombardier swooped in, striking Aeon directly in the chest with a devastating kick from its talons.

Aeon was sent flying. Far. Far enough until he reached a mountain and crashed back-first into it.

Mercilessly, Bombardier swooped in again, throwing another kick that landed on the boy's chest. Aeon's body flew into the mountain and out the other side. it and flew The boy's body rolled and twirled about once it hit the ground before the momentum pulling his body stopped. Pulling himself to his feet with his one usable arm, Aeon glared at the oncoming Titan Pokémon coming for another strike. It's entire body shined with flying type energy as it flew his way.

"It-It's using Brave Bird!?" Aeon cried out in fear before gritting his teeth. Electricity sparked around the boy's legs before he leapt into the air and engaged his jetboots. The oncoming bird flew past where Aeon was previously standing, then spun up toward the air, homing in on the robot boy.

Aiming his usable arm down at the flying type- it turned into an arm cannon, and a laser blast of light fired from it. Aeon shouted loudly as the blast swallowed the bird whole and made another explosion.

Now, Aeon couldn't feel either his arms.

Bombardier flew right past the smoke that arose from Aeon's attack and straight at Aeon, striking the boy in the chest one more time before flying past him and sending Aeon flying like a bowling pin.

Aeon's body twirled in the air uncontrollably as Bombirdier came again for another strike, still glowing with Flying Type energy. Then Bombirdier did it again. And again, and again. All the while, Aeon could feel an indescribable amount of pain.

Once the Bombirdier relented, Aeon's body fell to the ground with a titan pokemon flapped its wings mightily as it watched for its prey to stop moving.

WARNING! WARNING! IF SHUT DOWN IS NOT INITIATED, SELF DESTRUCTION IS IMMINENT!

Aeon groaned as he stood right back up to the Titan's surprise.

He couldn't give up.

WARNING! WARNING!

There was no way he could give up. If he fell here, it would go for Arven and Kai next. There's no way he could fall... but what else could he do?

Be this thing's punching bag until he eventually went down...?

WARNING! WARNING! SELF DESTRUCTION IS IMMINANT! SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!

If Aeon could have a nickel every time, he heard his alarm systems say the word 'warning', he'd be rich. Aeon chuckled to himself, wondering how he had the ability to joke at a time like this.

He was down two arms, now. There was only one way to protect Kai and Arven, and Aeon had the strength to do it.

"In the end... I am a tool." Aeon muttered to himself. "A weapon. Something to be used. And now... it's time for me to be useful... and save the others."

Aeon sighed, then glared at Bombirdier.

"Hey- Bombirdier!" Aeon cried. "Guess what?! You've lost- and there's nothing you can do...! No matter how far you fly away, you won't be able to outrun...my self destruction..!"

His legs started to electrify before he fell to his knees.

It was the only way. In order to defeat the Titan, Aeon had to let himself self-destruct. Electricity sparked around his entire body.

This was it. This was the end. Did he have any regrets in the end?

The only one he could think of was the one with Kai. The fact that he was so mean to him… he'd never be able to tell him sorry. Another one he thought of was Arven- how he wasn't able to spend as much time as he wanted to with his brother.

SELF-DESTRUCTION COUNT DOWN STARTING!

Maybe Kai could forgive him someday. Maybe Arven could forgive him for what he was going to do.

5.

Maybe someday, in another life, he could see those two again.

4.

Aeon closed his eyes slowly.

3.

He began to smile.

2.

1.

Aeon braced himself.

….Final fail-safe activated.

Aeon heard a calming monotone voice that shocked him to his core. It was much less loud and blaring, unlike the last voice.

"What?!" Aeon cried.

Now activating the Paradox Drive.

"P-Paradox Dr-"

Paradox Drive activated. Now merging… Powers of Miraidon and Koraidon... And tapping into the Power of Combat Level 5.

Aeon began screaming at the top of his lungs as a newfound power began to overwhelm him. Several laser beams of red and blue light surrounded the boy before an explosive pillar of light matching the other colors rose around him. The light shot toward the sky like a beacon.

"C'mon, Miraidon, we've got to move!" Arven cried while riding the motorcycle-like Pokémon. Kai's Pokémon held tight onto their trainer, who leaned against Arven's back and was as still as a board.

The sound of an explosion rang out- one that was so loud that Arven gasped and turned his head. He saw a ray of light shooting for the sky.

"AEON!" He cried. "Miraidon- We're turning!" Arven controlled Miraidon and spun him around- the moment he U-turned, he darted straight toward the beam of light.

Soon, the beam of light faded, and revealed Aeon, who was fine. More than fine. He was kneeling with both of his now usable hands on the ground.

Aeon's snow-white hair had suddenly grown- so much so that it was now touching the floor behind him. Blue electricity, followed by red electricity sparked around the boy's entire body. The colors of the lightning that surrounded the boy's body switched from blue to red again and again.

Aeon groaned and opened his eyes, which began to shine, not so much so that his pupils were unseeable. They were glowing slightly more than usual. The boy had two auras around his body- a blue inner aura, and a red outer aura.

Behind Aeon's back was a long, sleek halberd, sparking with yellow and blue electricity. The coiled metal on its long handle and its yellow and blue glow were reminiscent of Miraidon's skin patterns. Aeon stared at his empty hands opening and closing them as several questions swarmed his mind.

He could feel the strength of Koraidon- all of its strength raging inside of him. He could feel the weapon of Miraidon, sparking with all of its majestic glory.

All the while, Aeon was thinking of countless questions, all of which asked why and how he was able to use this power.

Bombirdier squawked loudly, lunging talons-first toward Aeon as though it were attempting to strike him.

One finger.

One finger was all it took for Aeon to block the Bombirdier's attack. The android's body didn't even budge once the attack connected. Aeon looked at the Titan Pokémon with a look of not anger- but pity. Bombirdier's eyes widened in shock, and it squealed in surprise.

Bombirdier screeched as it used the move Acrobatics. it began swinging its shining white legs again and again like a karate master- only for Aeon to block all of his attacks with the very same finger.

"What happens when a Human or Pokémon see something more powerful than itself? The correct thing to do is run. You're failing your ancestors- the ones who fought to live and pass down the knowledge necessary for your survival."

Another kick came Aeon's way. Instead of blocking it, Aeon grabbed the winged Pokémon's ankle. With sudden, incredible strength, Aeon started spinning Bombirdier's entire body like a lasso. After swinging it around a few times, Aeon threw the Titan and sent it flying high into the sky.

That was when he realized it: Aeon always had this level of strength- he was only able to use it in short bursts- like when he attacked Klawf...what did his systems call it? The Paradox Drive? Was that his power source? Aeon knew he was powerful- but...

Not this powerful.

Screeching loudly, the Bombirdier. managed to spin its body and kill all of its momentum by expanding its wings and letting the wind hit it as though it were a wall.

Aeon watched the Titan and narrowed his eyes like he was debating on swatting it like a fly. He sighed, expecting it to fly away in fear. But no- instead, the Bombirdier flew toward him.

"Are you stupid?" Aeon asked, watching the Bombirdier approach him with annoyance in his eyes. "Is it stubbornness? Is it anger? Is that why you keep fighting? Even a mindless beast like yourself should know..." Aeon aimed his open hand at the Titan. "That I'm more than 100 times stronger than I was before."

Blue Electricity flew out of the android's palms- one that was potent enough to turn the bird into dust- but instead of hitting its target it flew right past the Bird's cheek, just as Aeon intended. The thunder expanded outward loudly- and exploded like a massive firework.

"That attack served as a reminder of what your ancestors passed down." Aeon said, lowering his hand. "Any wild beast with common sense should know to turn around and run once the stronger being bares its fangs."

Aeon watched- waiting for the Titan Pokémon to turn and fly away. But instead- Bombirdier screeched at the top of its lungs.

"Very well," Aeon said. Electricity sparked on the weapon that was behind his back in response, the mighty halberd that resembled Miraidon floated in front of its user and pointed itself toward its target.

Aeon started to float. He wasn't using any jet-powered boots or anything- he just floated with the power of magnetism. Aeon grabbed his floating weapon and twirled it before entering a battle stance in front of the stubborn Bombirdier.

"The power of the Past and Future... I am going to burn it into your DNA and soul."
