Chapter 6 - Carlisle

Arriving in Volterra, Esme and I made our way to the castle. Before we could enter, my phone rang. I pulled it out of my pocket and saw that Alice was calling. I quickly answered it. "What is it, Alice?" I asked.

"I got a vision of Bella, Carlisle. She was telling Charlie that she was moving to La Push with some guy named Jared. I believe that she might be the mate of a wolf, Carlisle." Alice said.

"That's interesting. I might help to make a deal with Aro." I told her.

"Maybe. I haven't seen anything about what might could happen. I'll let you know if I do." Alice said before she hung up.

I slipped the phone back into my pocket. "Everything is going to be okay, right?" Esme asked me.

"I hope so. Let's not keep Aro waiting." I said.

We made our way into the castle and were quickly led to the throne room to meet Aro. "Carlisle, Esme!" Aro greeted us. "How nice of you to pay us a visit."

"Thank you for seeing us Aro." I said.

"Of course. Anything for an old friend. What can I do for you?" Aro asked.

"I was hoping that we can make a deal." I said.

"About?" He asked me.

"Bella." I said.

"Hmm…As I recall…Edward is supposed to change her." Aro said.

"He was but circumstances have changed." I said.

"How so?" He asked.

"Bella has become the mate of a shape-shifting wolf." I said.

Aro place his chin on his hand as if he was thinking. "So she is not Edward's mate then?" Aro asked.

I shook my head. "Apparently not." I said.

"If Edward agrees to join us for 50 years, I'll release her debt." Aro said.

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pulled it out to see a text from Alice. Take it. "Agreed." I said.

"Carlisle!" Esme exclaimed.

"Very well. Go home and make preparations. I expect to see Edward within the week or I'll send Demetri after him." Aro said.

I nodded. "Thank you Aro." I said and Esme and I left.

When we left the castle, Esme looked upset. "How could you?" She asked me.

"Alice told me to take it. She must have seen that Edward would agree. He never wanted Bella to be changed to begin with. He'd do anything to get her out of that." I told her. She nodded.

We ran for home.
