I mean I can always be a Farmer V
Disclaimers I don't own RWBY, please support any to all official releases and thank you guys for your patience and for your support.
After the break in during the school dance and being interrogated by her headmaster and General Ironwood, team RWBY were just bidding their time before having to head out and explore some ruins to an abandoned frontier town where they were positive they would have their lead to the White Fang and their target Roman.
But in their time waiting, team RWBY was in charge of looking after Zwei who was sent to them by parcel.
"Goodboy Zwei" Ruby said happily as she tossed a ball for the dog to fetch, "We should probably get ready to head out now, we don't want to keep our professor waiting" said Weiss.
"Yeah come on Ruby, let's go, Zwei will be fine by himself" said Yang, "You guys go on ahead, I'll catch up" said Ruby innocently as she had already devised a plan to look bring Zwei along.
"Ok boy, keep you head, and stay quiet till the coast is clear, ok" said Ruby as Zwei could only respond with a bark.
"Good boy" said Ruby as she closed her little knapsack and was ready to catch up to her team, but stopped when a stranger was ready to knock on her door.
"Oh" said Ruby awkwardly as the stranger searched through their messenger bag, "Letter for team RWBY and JNPR" said the courier as they handed the letter to the young huntress.
"Oh, yes thank you" said Ruby as she took the letter and decided to pocket it for now as she would have time to later read this letter with her team and sister team.
Time Skip
After a long ride and a long day slaying Grimm and exploring the ruined frontier village, team RWBY was finally allowed to camp for the night and rest as Doctor Oobleck was keeping guard.
Unable to wait anymore and still feeling restless with everything that's been going on Ruby decided to act a little naughty and read the letter sent to them by Jaune in advance.
"Hey guys, I know you probably got this letter long before I got your previous one, so I can only assume Yang and Nora are disgruntled by these constant cliff hangers, so I'm going to pick where I previously left off. After cutting the story short when uncle Hackett woke up to reality, and ushering us all back inside, I spent the night looking at the photo of a pretty woman, who according to the name printed on the corner read Jessica…" read the letter.

Word had spread how the 2 older Arc patriarchs were now willing to hear out door to door salesmen, and potentially invest their money on their product.
Examples would be the seed salesman, a vendor Hackett could care less about as Gareth haggled with the man to finally improve on their future garden.
When it came to working on the garden itself, it went as you can imagine as 2 old men and their nephew, working hard with the sun on your back, chewing tobacco, offering chewing tobacco to Jaune only for him to through a hissy over the absolutely disgusting product he had knowingly ingested into his mouth, with Gareth looking at Hackett with disgruntled shame as Hackett played innocent and laughed his ass off for punking his nephew.
In time the garden was starting to sprout some life much to the excitement of Jaune.
"Hey nephew, go check the mailbox at the end of the dirt road, see if we finally got the news letter for guns and my meat of the month" said Hackett as he and Gareth with doing something that was over Jaune's head.
Walking down the dirt road, Jaune got a better look at all the warning signs for trespassers and solicitors for even attempting to set foot on their property, and could only shake his head with a smile over the enjoyment his uncles had scaring off anyone who'd disturb their solace.
Opening the mail box, the only thing in their was a letter for Jaune, from his family as he took and rushed back to his uncles porch and proceeded to read what his parents had wrote him.
'Dear Jaune, it's your mother writing this, I know that you know by now that we haven't came to pick you up after your initial first call. Granted this is an executive decision your father had made, and well he's never steered me or anyone else for that matter wrong, as he believes you need at least a week to adapt to your new situation and said if you call us more again after the trial and you feel like you want to leave, I'll come and pick you up. In fact just say the word and I will come pick you up. Xoxo, love mom' read the letter.
Setting the letter down, Jaune was left to his thoughts as he didn't know whether he should thank his parents, or you know damn them for making him go through an ordeal, as he feels entitled to do so when all was set in done.
Checking on his nephew from the screen door, Gareth knew that Jaune still had a lot of room for progress so long as he was in his and Hackett's care.
"Damnit brother, I ain't going out in public looking like this" yelled Hackett as both brother stepped out wearing matching overalls, plaid shirts and Stetsons.
"I feel like a sharecropper or one of them exploited Faunus from when the old Sierra Montero village was around" said Hackett.
"We're gardeners now, this is what gardeners wear when they work, and I got you a pair for you too, it's right back in your bedroom" said Gareth as he ushered Jaune to conform like his uncles.
A good 20 minutes later and the trio were back at maintaining their little garden.
"Ah, I can taste now, all these vegetables on our dinner table, beans, carrots, beets" listed of Gareth as Hackett could grunt in response.
Eyeing their progress once again, Jaune had a nagging feeling from about a day now, and noticed something quite odd with these vegetables.
"Hey, what's this" Jaune pointed at his row, "Tomatoes" answered Gareth as he was afflicted with tunnel vision, "And what's that".
"Potatoes" said Gareth, "Potatoes?" asked Hackett as he remembered growing potatoes back at their family home for many years, and never once remembered them looking as they were.
"Now wait damn minute" said Hackett as he decided to check for himself on his nephews intuition.
"Hold on a minute, this reads squash, cabbage, carrots, apples, tomatoes, and negi. Negi, what's that" asked Hackett as he felt like they were planting something alien in their garden.
"Japanese-Welsch onion" explained Gareth, "Hey, this row looks right" Jaune said optimistically.
"Well yeah, this here is corn" said Hackett, "Those seeds did look alike come to think of it" said Gareth innocently since in hindsight, Hackett staying around to give a second opinion would have prevented this conundrum.
"Yeah, like corn" said Hackett, "That seed salesman sure saw us coming" said Gareth.
"No, he saw you coming, and now we're stuck with this. Corn, corn, corn, nothing but damn corn!" said Hackett as he would have gone on ranting if not for the loud honking of a vehicle from the distance.
"My god, it's finally here" said Hackett with pep back in his step as he ran inside, "You stay here and help them unload with the cargo" said Gareth as he followed his brother inside.
Staying posted, Jaune was wide eye in seeing what looked to be a giraffe being shipped out to them.
With the delivery truck getting closer, Jaune saw that these men had came from some no name town in Vale delivering a cargo of wild animals.
Approaching one of them, Jaune nearly risked getting his face torn when a grizzly took a swipe at him.
"Careful now, he's a genuine people eater" said the delivery driver as he had 2 other men unload the cargo in the rear.
"Is this the Arc residence, we got your liger" said the delivery driver, "Liger" repeated Jaune as this was the first he was hearing of this.
"Yep, gods unholy union between the king of the jungle and the king of the forest" said the delivery driver as Hackett and Gareth were coming out in a change o clothes carrying, each carrying a hunting rifle.
"You guys bought a liger. A used liger!" asked Jaune as he felt this was probably the most reckless investment they ever made.
"Stand back kid, we don't want you to get caught in the crossfire now" said Gareth as Hackett went about paying the men for their service.
"I gotta say brother, this is the best idea of investment you ever had" said Gareth, "Yeah, plus it'll look good mounted atop our fire place" said Hackett.
"What fireplace? You don't have a fireplace" pointed out Jaune in the most minor issue to their recent investment, "Then we'll buy one" said Hackett nonchalantly.
"Also you guys just gonna shoot it like that" asked Jaune as his complaints fell to deaf ears as the brothers bid the delivery men farewell as Gareth came forward to inspect their product.
"Oh yeah, he's in there all right" said Gareth, "This doesn't feel all that sporting" said Jaune, "Kid, at our age, this is as sporting as we get" said Hackett.
"Now Jaune, when I give the signal, release this here latch and then duck and cover" instructed Gareth as he in Hackett got into position as they raised their rifles.
"Now Jaune" said Gareth as Jaune undid the latch, before balling up with his hands covering his ears, wanting his uncles to put their cruel game to rest already.
"Hey, whistle. You in the crate, get your liger butt out of there" said Hackett angrily as Jaune slowly turn his head to see neither of his uncles shooting the liger and had a look of disappointment on their face.
Sensing no danger, Jaune rushed next to his uncles as they all crouched over the crate with their rifles down as they inspected the liger itself.
The liger in question was not only old, but very docile and tamed as it's pen was littered with emptied tube yogurt and half eaten French toast sticks as it seemed content just lying in it's pen.
"Seems awfully tamed" said Jaune, "This liger ain't no good it's… it's defective" said Gareth as he felt as disappointed at Hackett a few minutes ago when they were in the garden.
"It's alive ain't it" said Hackett in his defense, "Well go on ahead and shoot it then" said Gareth, "No, that wouldn't be sporting, shooting it inside it's own crate, without a fight even".
"He looks kind of old, and very tired" commented Jaune as the liger let out a gentle yawn, "Some liger hunting this has been" said Gareth as he and Hackett completely let their rifles to rest by their side.
"Perfect, you had to order the reject from the zoo" said Gareth, "So… can I keep him, I never had a pet before, I'll feed him, take care of him, and look after him" said Jaune as if he was the crazy one in this investment.
"You're telling me, you want to take care of him, and nurse it back to health" asked Hackett as Jaune nodded in response.
"Good. Then we'll kill him" said Hackett as he felt like he still has a chance to redeem his hide as Gareth nodded in approval for letting Jaune keep the liger.
"That some liger you bought" said Gareth as he and his brother returned to their house, "Yeah, well it was some garden seeds you bought" said Hackett.
"Don't worry, they only act tough to strangers, but are really nice once you've earned their friendship" said Jaune as he shut the crate closed, before going to work in feeding the liger some chicken, breaking a few planks so that the critter got some sun light, all the while his uncles watched him work from afar.
Sitting back with his uncles on the porch, Jaune took a sip from his pop as his uncles admired the young man's honest work.
"You sure you can take care of him" asked Gareth, "Her, she's a girl" corrected Jaune.
"I'm calling her Jessica" said Jaune innocently as both his uncles looked back at Jaune as if he said something that was Taboo.
"What you just say" asked Hackett as he furrowed his brow as Jaune remained petrified at the man's smoldering gaze.
"I don't got to deal with this" said Hackett as he got up from his chair and went back inside the house, "Son, where did you hear that name" asked Gareth as he was certain to have yet to mention that woman.
"There was an old trunk in my bedroom, and inside there was the photo of a woman with the names Jessica etched on it" explained Jaune as Gareth let out a sigh of defeat.
Days later
Arriving towards surplus warehouse the 3 Arc's went over to pick a delivery o lion chow, which should be as good as liger chow since it don't normally exist.
"I've been working here for 40 years, and never had I ever been requested such an item" said the foreman as Gareth finished paying the man.
"Give me a minute here to organize my boys and you'll be up and ready to go within half an hour" said the foreman, "Stand aside" said Hackett as he stepped forward to lift the 50lb bag of lion chow loaded it to the back of his pick up by himself.
"Come on kid, and give me a hand" said Gareth as he and Jaune started loading up all 12 bags.
"All right let's get going" said Hackett as he was ready to drive them all back to the farm, but no sooner did he open the drivers door did the man fell back and passed out.
"Oh damn, someone call an ambulance" said Gareth as he feared that this might be the day his brother wanted most.
Later
Outside of the waiting room of the hospital, Jaune Gareth could only wait to hear back from the doctors over Hackett's condition.
Approaching the fountain to wet his whistle, Jaune was ushered to hear out a middle aged woman who was calling him.
"Are you associated with those Arc brothers? Be careful, I hear that they were 2 ex crime syndicate enforces until they threw their old boss out the 19 floor window and ran off with all of his money" said the woman.
Probably the most farfetched thing he's heard about his uncles to date, Jaune backed away to his uncle Gareth as they would continue to sit in silence if not for Jaune inquiring more about his uncles.
"Uncle Gareth, mind picking up where we left off a few days ago" asked Jaune, "You mean that story of your uncle Hackett? What good would that do in this situation" asked Gareth.
"It's better than sitting here in silence" said Jaune, "All right, fair point, now where was I…" trialed off Gareth.

In the badlands of what would later be known as Vacuo, we see a bunch of people, mainly Faunus, being heard together like cheap cattle as they were all slaves meant to be sold.
"Ok guys I think that's all the animals we need to hit our quota" said a slaver, "Good, let's get going before we get jumped by some huntsmen" said a different slaver.
As if on cue, the sound of a small band of cavalry came charging towards the group of slavers as they were being lead by a young Hackett carrying the sword of his bastard father.
While not an official huntsmen by any means, Hackett was a fighter and survivor who cut down any slaver who'd fought back as he mounted off his horse and approached a group of chained slaves where in one swing, had liberated them.
"Run as far as you can, you're free" said Hackett as he spun around and continued to do his duty of defending the defenseless not knowing that one of the captives he rescued was going to set him up with the woman of his life.
Once the dust had settled, and everyone was freed, Hackett would finally sheath his sword at long last.
"Good job out there sir, we couldn't have done it without you" said the commander of this unit, "Damn right you couldn't, now where do you want me next" asked Hackett.
"We've pretty much hit all the major slaver checkpoints that command know, why not take some time to relax and enjoy yourself, you deserve it" said the commander.
"I'm not gonna argue with you" said Hackett as he went back to his horse and proceeded to ride into the sun set.
Days later
Finding himself on a beach, Hackett had spent these days riding his horse up and down the coast line of the beach, drinking rum, and eating fish.
Ready to enjoy the feeling of both the fresh sea water to splash his face and the wind in his hair as he raced his horse once more today, Hackett was soon joined by a stranger covered in an all-black burqa.
The stranger began to catch up to Hackett's one man race, before they eventually take the lead, instigating the man into a friendly competition.
About 2 miles in, a large wave came crashing against the racers, knocking them off their horse, and well Hackett did feel behind, making him the loser of the race, specifically a sore loser.
Getting back on his feet, Hackett drew his swords ready to intimidate this stranger only to see that they were in fact a very beautiful woman.
Putting his sword away, Hackett helped the woman up as both couldn't stop looking each other in the eye as they both felt true love was before them since the feeling they had was the greatest they felt for someone they had met on first sight.
"Are you ok" asked Hackett, "Yes thank you, though really I should be thanking you" said the woman.
"And why's that" asked Hackett, "You freed one of my hand maidens after she had been wrongfully kidnapped by a group of slavers, and upon her return she told me stories of an armor less knight who'd fight for the people" said the woman.
"She's not wrong, but you sure she was referring to me" asked Hackett, "She said the man who saved them carried a sword and a collapsible shield that can turn into a hilt, and was very handsome to look at" said the woman.
"Where are my manners, I'm Jessica" said Jessica as she offered her hand as Hackett took it and kissed the top of her palm.
"Hackett" said Hackett as the 2 enjoyed what little time they had together since fate would eventually intervene.
Apparently Jessica had been promised to be wedded off to a powerful Baron, so on the day that Jessica was brought to his mansion, she was forced into a room with the other wives of the Baron.
Knowing that she'd be the Baron's wife that night, Jessica defiantly stated that once the Baron had set foot in her bed chambers, she will use a knife she had brought to slit her throat then be treated as another piece of that man's property.
Thinking Hackett wouldn't dare risk his life for hers, she didn't know that the huntsmen who loved her was capable of great feats that huntsmen today would be envious about.
Storming the castle by himself, Hackett slayed many guards, broke down every barricade, and vaulted any obstacle that would dare get between him and Jessica.
Upon entering the room Jessica was in and knocking out the last few guards, Hackett gasped in fear as he saw a silhouette of his love, raising a knife above her.
Running towards her and removing the curtains, Hackett caught her hand in time, preventing their story ending in tragedy.
No words were said as they kissed in their reunion, before Hackett lead Jessica out to safety where they road into the night leaving the Baron's mansion in a rather barren state, with the Baron himself proclaiming his revenge on Hackett.
Present Time (45 years later)
"… And so they lived happily ever after" said Gareth with a warm smile as Jaunce smiled too over such an epic romantic quest to have happened in his family.
"But wait, if they lived happily ever after, that means they'd have been married, and have kids, right? Where are they now?" asked Jaune as Gareth dropped his smile for a more neutral look.
"Sigh, I wish the doctors could tell us what's going on with him" asked Gareth out loud, hoping he'd get some sort of answer.
And he did when he heard the sounds of his brother shouting followed by a tray of medical supplies, a medical clipboard, and even the bedpan being thrown out his room as Hackett was getting into an argument.
"…What the hell is going on! Give me back my pants!" yelled Hackett as he finally left his room, with his regular clothes in hands as he was still wearing his hospital gown and IV connected to his arm.
"You! You two! Did you two bring me here!" demanded Hackett as Gareth and Jaune shook their heads no over the accusation.
3 Years Later
"…And so we left the hospital, not knowing what happened to Hackett as he angrily drove us back, and me curious and confused over what ever happened to Jessica. I mean I can tell you all right now, but that would be spoiling the story, when next time, we passed back to that taqueria I ran and took shelter at a few stories back, where my uncle Hackett got into a fight with a couple of huntsmen students and Jessica, my liger that is, escaped and made a home in the corn field. Till next time guys, you're best friend Jaune Arc" read the letter as Ruby put the parchment down and smiled at knowing a little bit more of her fellow leader, first BFF from Beacon, and what made him the man he is today.
"This is a really good story, huh Zwei" said Ruby as she didn't notice her little dog had scampered off.
"Zwei? Zwei?" called Ruby as she now had to go hunt for her dog, not knowing he was going to lead her and her team to exactly where they need to be.
