The Doctor and Khaldun looked at each other, with the Doctor understanding why Khaldun close to go back to his time and place almost immediately. "Now that you got your family back, you have something to live for." she said.

"At least you understand." Khaldun replied, "Saving the world is fun and all, but I have spent the last year without the love of my life and sons."

"And I get it. Truth be told, had I found a peaceful way of living, I would spend the rest of my days doing so. I can take you and your family on one last trip, though."

"What is it?" Farah asked.

"Khaldun, just after we met Jessica, what did you ask about again?"

"Honestly, I have lost track. These last few days or so have been pretty bus-"

"Constantinople. You asked about the fall of Constantinople and then you lamented how you will die before you'll ever see it."

"So you are saying..."

"Oh yes, Khaldun." The Doctor turned her attention to Khaldun's family. "Come when me."

The Doctor, Khaldun, Farah, their sons, and Jessica all went back into the TARDIS. "I cannot believe this place is so much larger inside than out."

"Heard that a lot." The Doctor got the TARDIS ready for launch. "Next stop, Constantinople!" The Doctor started the TARDIS and dematerialised it from the port.

The TARDIS materialised not that far from the action of the war between the Ottomans and the Romans. Farah wandered outside alongside the rest of the group. "So this is when Constantinople falls?" she asked.

"It is." the Doctor answered, "The last stand of the Roman Empire, the mighty Theodosian Walls withstanding cannon shots going in as deep as a mile, and yet if you look over there..."

The Doctor pointed to an Ottoman janissary signalling to some others that one of the doors to the walls was ajar. The janissaries rushed inside. "So they got into the walls, killed the guards there, and this removed the last real line of defense against them." Khaldun said with a smile, "This is what good social cohesion can do."

"Okay, Doctor." Jessica said, "They've seen Constantinople get conquered, we should probably get them home."

"Agreed." The Doctor turned her attention to the Khaldun family. "Let's get you home." The family nodded and got back into the TARDIS. The TARDIS dematerialised from the battlefield, narrowly avoiding a shot from one of the Ottoman cannons.

The TARDIS ended up materialising in the same space her previous incarnation stumbled into, only a minute after said TARDIS dematerialised from there. In that time, she had cut down an Oxyvore, survived being experimented on, briefly ruled over a planet, and even fought against the Sea Devils and won. Khaldun and his family left the TARDIS, with the Doctor standing by the doors. "Like I said a long time ago, this is like you never left." the Doctor said, "I may struggle with the occasional human interaction, but I can always tell when someone's sad, or in your case, happy."

"Well, you brought my family back. What more could I ask for?" Khaldun replied.

"It was nice to actually meet you in person. I just want to give you a gift before you go." The Doctor took out a wooden doll with a button on its chest. "Catch!" The Doctor threw the doll towards Khaldun and he caught it. "If you ever need me, press the button on the chest. I will come wherever you are at that moment in time so I can help you. Farewell, Abdurahman."

"Farewell, Doctor."

The TARDIS dematerialised, leaving the Khaldun family to look on. Later that day, it was dinner time in the Khaldun household. He served his family the same dish that he made the Doctor earlier that day when she didn't remember who she was: molokhia. It was eaten with as much time as needed because it was as good as always, and then Khaldun would pray to Allah afterwards, as per the tradition of Muslims like him. Farah came into the room Khaldun was praying in after he was done. "So," Farah asked, "what was life like with the Doctor?"

"What was life like?" he replied, "I took her in when she changed faces, do not ask, and she rewarded me with trips to far-off planets and times both past and future. I might have nearly died a couple of times, but then I got you back." He hugged his beloved wife. "I missed you."

"Do not worry, Abdurahman. I will never leave you. I am certainly not taking any boat trips ever again." Both laughed and went to bed, happy that they were back together again.

The TARDIS materialised on top of the Sandhills. The Doctor and Jessica day on the bench nearby. "Odd for you to take me back to a village in a mess." Jessica said, "Well, more of a mess than usual."

"If there's one thing I know about humanity, it's that you are very good at rebuilding." the Doctor replied, "Hell, I bet that very soon, all the isomalt is going to be removed from the Penshaw Monument."

"Knowing the city council, doubt it."

"Well, in any case, I suggest you take a break from travelling with me and staying here instead for a bit. It's very dangerous and isolating sometimes, and I don't want to subject you to that constantly."

"You know what? Fair. See ya, Doctor."

"See you at Christmas." The Doctor got back into her TARDIS and dematerialised, resting the TARDIS in the middle of the Time Vortex, for as much of an adventurer as she was, she needed a break as well. She decided to bring a book to bed: Khaldun's autobiography. There was something new at the end, however, and it was a new part on the middle of the book. It read as follows:

A year after I lost my wife and sons, a blue box seemingly appeared out of nowhere. I did not know about it until I saw a woman with hair and bright as the sun who was complaining about her accent and admiring her own feet. She knew who I was, yet I knew not of her. I grew to know her over time after I came with her inside of the blue box. Through it, I saw the past and future, here and everywhere else, and then she helped to find my family again. She was like Allah sent an angel at one of the worst periods of my life and ordered her to help rebuild it. She was only known by one name: the Doctor. It was a name that she was true to, as she saved the world, but also saved my world.

The Doctor, happy that she made a positive impact on someone's life, put down the book and pulled up her quilt. She closed her eyes and fell asleep. She had done so much over her many lives, but this time, for now, was the time to rest.
