This story picks up where Contemplations, a Wedding Night & a Lifetime left off. It follows Shane and Oliver as they navigate the waters of married life after returning from an out-of-this-world honeymoon. Familiar faces and a couple new characters will be part of the story, along with a cheeky narrator.

Have you ever wondered what would have happened had Shane actually ended up in Direct Line Operations in Northglenn? How would she and Oliver ever get together? How would our favorite postal workers become The POstables? This is an AU (alternate universe) story that delves into those questions. I hope you enjoy reading it. This is a request for my thoughts on what made Oliver smile after reading Holly's poem during their final dinner together. It gave me a chance to get back into Oliver's head and explore his thoughts after his wife's unexpected return. The characters are the brilliant creation of Martha Williamson and beautifully portrayed by Eric Mabius, Kristin Booth, and Poppy Montgomery.

Shane and Oliver contemplate the events that led them to the altar. A most awaited wedding night follows along with their honeymoon.

Although I love and honor Martha's writing, I have lingering doubts about the realism of Vows's ending. There has been too much character growth and ShOliver (especially Shane) have waited too long for the moment when she and Oliver are finally one for the Fab Four to go back to the DLO to start another letter. So I give you an alternate ending. Enjoy!

What was Oliver thinking during this pivotal episode and what was his actions outside of the scenes leading up to some of the powerful scenes we witnessed? That is what has always struck me about Dark of Night. I will attempt to lay out my thoughts on this.
