Prologue: Two Worlds
Two Worlds:

A pair of sharpteeth, Charity and Chance, along with their small son, were always on the move in the Mysterious Beyond. Chomper was their son, he told them that was his name and spoke in leaf-eater on occasion, making it difficult for the pair to understand him at times. When he did learn their tongue, it made communicating easier, however, when he wandered off to make friends with the flat teeth, that's when they grew concerned. Fearing the plant-eaters might harm Chomper, who was naïve regarding the big differences between their two kinds. Thus, they needed to protect him from the leaf eaters, not only them but the other sharpteeth, who'd try to kill him for such unusual behavior. Especially Red Claw, who was the Alpha over all sharpteeth and had some strange obsession with trying to kill their son.
Fortune looked their way, cause a land path provided a way to cross the Big Water without swimming, the three living there in peace once they reached the far side. The Mysterious Island was a place unknown to any who passed by, allowing the three with a safe haven. During the low tied, Chance left to hunt and bring food back to the family while Charity stayed to protect their son. During that time, Charity told Chomper about the world around them and cherished their mother-son bonding.
In the Mysterious Beyond, a fastrunner couple watched their little girl play near a set of rocks they found. The girl, Ruby, wandered off and the pair showed her the area and told her to come there should they be separated again, to Hanging Rock. The three stayed there for a duration of time, Ruby never straying too far, fearful of the giant flesh eaters who preyed upon her kind. Still, she was curious, wanting to learn about the world around her, including the sharpteeth they called their enemy. The best way to protect herself was to know what they thought. Growing older and welcoming a set of twins, two boys, Rusty and Rudy, Ruby was determined to keep them safe, being the oldest.
Indeed, the fastrunners and sharpteeth parents were different in their everyday lives, yet there was one thing in common. They needed to survive, protect their young, so they stood the best chance to grow into adulthood, carrying on the bloodline. Course, fate had other plans, putting Ruby and Chomper on a course that would change their lives forever. It was as though the two worlds were meant to collide and become one family. The question was, what purpose did it serve to have Ruby and Chomper's friendship blossom into romance, a bond that time, space, and distance couldn't break? Perhaps not all answers were meant to be learned. Still, the curious are never satisfied until they learn the truth.
