There stood the purple-haired girl thinking about everything she had experienced in the last 24 hours. In just one day, Mal went from a confused girl to a scary dragon, from a lady of the court to a villain and heroine, from Isle to Auradon, from preparing a ball to a battle with Uma, uncertainties to the fullness that this is her place, in short, a lot of emotions for someone who just wanted to take a breath.

"If you want to give one more emotion wait until tomorrow, because we are tired."

Evie asked her friend. The stylist who had been with Doug so far headed towards the edge of the huge boat to talk to her friend.

"I think it was a lot of emotions for one day."

Mal confessed remembering the latest events.

"Absolutely." Evie agreed with a laugh. "So, did you smile at all the guests? Were you courteous and gracious like we practiced?"

"I don't think I've ever seen so many princesses in one place."

Evie knew her friend was tired.

"I imagine so, the boys and I are leaving, are you coming?"

"Yes, but I have to say goodbye to Ben."

She warned looking at the king smiling at more of the dance guests.

"All right, we're waiting for you."

Maleficent's daughter walked over to her boyfriend who was chatting with some of the court nobles.

"Ben?"

She called him shyly so as not to disturb the conversation, but, as expected, gained his immediate attention.

"Hi."

The king excused himself from the duke and turned to the lady.

"I and the others are already leaving."

"Now?"

"Yeah, I said hello to everyone and honestly, I think it's been a long day."

She confessed holding back a yawn.

"I guess you're right."

He had his arms around her waist and was watching every detail of her.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing." Benjamin watches her as if she were the most beautiful piece of art. "I was afraid of losing you." He confessed almost in a whisper.

"I thought I would lose you too."

She needed him to understand that leaving him had not been an easy decision.

"I'm sorry I went after you on the Isle."

He leaned his forehead against hers and closed his eyes feeling that sense of relief that she was there.

"Ben, we've talked about this, you weren't to blame for anything, if anyone is to blame for anything it's me. You were in danger because of me."

Mal couldn't accept that Ben carried any kind of blame.

"You were confused."

He explained now understanding her side.

"But if I hadn't left, you wouldn't have been captured."

"And you wouldn't have said you loved me."

He smiled broadly at the girl who's cheeks quickly flushed.

"You weren't under a spell?"

"What? I'm experienced at being bewitched." He remarked earning a loud laugh from her. "But, if I hadn't heard right would you repeat it? Just to have..."

"I love you."

Hearing those three words made the boy's heart beat faster. Knew he loved her from the minute he saw her, so said it with ease. Ben just didn't think it would be so exciting to hear her say it.

"I love you too, my Mal."

He leaned in to kiss her again.

"Are you going to be long? I'm sleepy."

They looked toward the exit of the boat and saw Carlos with Dude, who was the one who interrupted their moment.

"Dude!"

Carlos scolded the dog.

"See you tomorrow."

Ben warned planting a kiss on her cheek.

"See you tomorrow Ben."

She stood on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek too.

(...)

As if the day before hadn't happened the teens woke up early and headed to their classes at Auradon Prep.

"How did you do that one yesterday?"

Cruella's son asked his purple-haired friend. As was customary, they were having breakfast together. Carlos asked about her transformation.

"Actually, I don't know. I was so angry at Uma and I couldn't control. Next thing I knew I was, you know, flying and spitting fire."

Mal gave the only explanation she could manage.

"For a minute I thought it was your mother."

Evie said

"Thanks, I guess."

She didn't know if that was a compliment or a warning.

"Lady Mal, the Fairy Godmother requests your presence in her office."

A man dressed in royal robes relayed the message to Mal.

"Okay. Thank you for letting me know." Mal thanked him and went back to her coffee, but at that moment she realized the man hadn't left. "Do I have to go there now?"

"Yes, Lady Mal."

"Then I guess I'll see you later."

Mal said to her friends who were laughing at the situation. As she walked towards the principal, Mal could only think of talking to Ben about the title had received.

"Presenting Lady..."

Another employee picked up a sign and was going to announce the girl's arrival at the principal's office.

"No necessary." She interrupted the staff member not wanting to hear her name shouted to the entire hall. "Fairy Godmother, did you call me?"

"Mal! Come in."

The fairy spoke with her daily enthusiasm.

"Did something happen? Is everything alright?"

"I'm fine and you?"

She pulled out a chair for Lady to sit on and stood facing her.

"I don't know, after you tell me why you called me, maybe I'll be more calm."

"Oh, yeah." If the student dismissed the kindness, all she had to do was be honest. "Mal, I know you know about our policy on magic and I understand what you were experiencing, but, there are rules." Fairy Godmother lost her cordial tone. "Mal, what I want to know about is that transformation. Have you always been able to transform?"

"No, I had no idea I could do that."

Mal replied laughing nervously about the situation.

"And how did you transform?"

"I don't know, when I saw it I was already flying."

It was the only explanation she was able to offer.

"And how did it return to its human form?"

Fairy Godmother understood about magic, but faced with what she saw yesterday she realized that there was a lot she didn't know.

"I just wanted to be human again, and when I did that I came back."

"You don't intend to transform again, do you?"

"No, of course not."

Mal understood the fairy's fear. As Evie reminded her, a flying dragon brought the memory Maleficent and it would be even harder to disentangle herself from her mother's image now.

"That's great to hear." She smiled not believing what the teenager was saying. "When magic was allowed here we had teachers. I have contact with some, if you want I can call one of them to help you control your magic."

"That would be wonderful."

Mal left without understanding much. Fairy Godmother, on the other hand, wondered about the consequences of the latest events. One certainty the great Cinderella do-gooder had, what was unspoken and had been hidden for twenty years was about to come to light.

Under this haunting thought she picked up the phone and called someone.

"We need to meet."

She talked to the other person on the other end of the call.

"What happened?"

"Mal has magic like her."
