I know, I have other stories I should be focusing on, but this is a story I've bene planning for a while and I wanted to at least start it.

It's my first fray into Lord of the Rings outside a multi crossover story I'm working on right now, so I apologize if anyone seems OOC.

The first thing The Doctor became aware of was that he lying on something hard. Opening his eyes, The Doctor found he was lying face down on the ground. Sitting up, he spat out a mouth full of dirt, looking around in bewilderment as he found he was on a mountain.

"Blimey," The Doctor muttered as he got to his feet.

"Doctor!"

At the sound of the voice, The Doctor whirled around only to get an arm full of Amy Pond as she wrapped her arms around him, grabbing him in a hug. As he gathered his bearings, The Doctor saw Rory and River walk up behind Amy, both looking as relieved to see him as Amy.

"You're here," Amy said happily as she let him go.

"Yes. Wherever 'here' is," The Doctor said as he looked around, frowning at the mountains. "Have any of you seen the TARDIS?"

"Sorry, no," Rory said and The Doctor frowned. "What exactly happened? And where are we?"

"All good questions," River noted as The Doctor frowned thoughtfully.

"Rory how's your heart?" The Doctor asked.

Rory frowned in confusion before understanding what The Doctor was asking. Rory placed a hand over his chest, feeling his heart beat and relief flooded through.

"Strong. I'm human again," Rory said in relief.

"That rules out you being dragged through the void with me," The Doctor said as he began to pace. "Hang on."

The Doctor pulled out his screwdriver; relieved it still had a bit of a charge and scanned the area. Looking down at the readings, The Doctor frowned as they confirmed his fears.

"I was afraid of that," The Doctor muttered.

"Sweetie? What is it?" River asked as they all looked at him.

"When I recreated the universe, I opened a doorway to another. As we were the only ones left of our universe when I did, we were dragged here," The Doctor explained and Amy and Rory looked at him incredulously.

"Are you saying we're standing in another universe? That the whole multiverse concept is real?" Rory asked in disbelief.

"As real as aliens and time travel. I've been to another universe before, but not like this," The Doctor as he looked around. "This is not good."

"You can get us home, can't you?" Amy asked hopefully.

"Do you see a TARDIS around here? Because I don't," The Doctor pointed out. "No TARDIS, no way home."

Nearby, a group of nine is journeying through the mountains. One, a man with blond hair and pointed ears, suddenly stopped, as if he heard something in the distance.

"Legolas?" the leader, an old man with a beard dressed in grey, asked as he turned to the man.

"Something is here. Something that does not belong," Legolas said ominously, unable to shake the feeling that had come over him.

"Bah! You worry too much elf," a short, bearded man with an axe laughed.

But the leader of the group does not seem to take Legolas's worry with the same attitude as the dwarf. Nor do any of the members of the group, two grown men and four small, child looking men.

"Whatever happens now, stay close to us my friends," one of the men, a dark haired, handsome man with a beard covering his face told the child looking men.

"Aragorn is right. We must proceed cautiously. This is Sauron's territory," the old man said grimly.

With that, the group continued on.

"So we're stuck here, is that the right of it?" Amy groaned as The Doctor paced back and forth.

"Without a TARDIS, there's nothing we can do. We're trapped here Amy," The Doctor sighed in dismay.

"Well, guess we won't be making it to the church," Rory said dryly.

"Perhaps a greater concern is what dangers may be in this world. We have no idea what this world is like," River pointed out and The Doctor nodded in agreement.

"The last time I found myself on a parallel world, it was overrun by Cybermen. River is right, we must get the measure of this world," The Doctor agreed.

Not long after, the group comes upon a hill overlooking the new arrivals. They all eyed the strangely dressed people in bewilderment, not able to hear what they were saying.

"Perhaps you were right after all Elf," Gimli muttered to Legolas.

"They have such strange clothing. And that one's hair," Merry whispered, gesturing to River.

"Indeed. They are rather queer in appearance," Frodo noted.

River suddenly whirled around, pulling out her gun and aiming to the side, firing. The shot hits a few feet south of where the group is hiding, startling the Fellowship

"That was a warning shot. The next one won't be, come out with your hands up," River shouted at them.

"I can disarm her from here," Legolas said as he reached for an arrow.

"Let's not be so hasty, Master Elf," Boromir said and Legolas paused.

"Boromir is right. We may be able to gather information if we go along with them…for now," Gandalf agreed.

"Only the one with wild hair seems armed. If we need to, I believe we can overpower them," Aragorn muttered.

"Then we will go along with their demands, for now," Frodo whispered.

No more words were spoken as the group emerged their hiding spot, making their way down to the group. River lowered her gun as the two groups took each other in, each as bewildered by the other.

"My apologies. We did not mean to spy," Boromir said humbly.

"You'll have to forgive my friend River. We've found ourselves somewhere we don't know, she's on edge," The Doctor said smoothly. "I'm The Doctor, that's Amy and Rory. You've met River."

"Doctor who?" Merry asked before he could stop himself.

"Just The Doctor," The Doctor said with a slight smile. "And who might you be?"

"I am Gandalf," Gandalf introduced himself before Merry could say anything else. "How did you find yourselves here?"

"That…complicated," The Doctor said lamely. "Where are we exactly?"

"You are currently in Eregion, which is one of the lands of Eriador," Aragorn said, the Middle Earth natives confused when they saw no recognition to this information.

"You just made that up," Amy said certainly.

"You are a long way from home, aren't you?" Gandalf realized.

"You have no idea," Rory said dryly.

"We have no idea where we are. I believe we were dragged here through a portal when I recreated the universe. Long story," The Doctor said and the group was silent for a moment.

"Perhaps you can tell us as we make camp," Gandalf offered and the other members of the Fellowship looked at him startled.

"Gandalf," Boromir hissed and Gandalf chuckled.

"I do not know who these people may be, but I do not believe they mean us any harm. In any case, we must make camp soon. Night is near," Gandalf pointed out. "We must make camp, then we shall hear this story of yours."

No one seemed to have anything to say to that, so they all agreed, moving a bit further along the mountain, looking for a place to set up camp, neither group realizing just how intertwined their fates were about to become.

A bit on the short side I know, but I hope you all enjoyed the opening chapter. Other chapters will be longer.
