Linkle was first found as a baby in an alleyway outside of Telma's Bar. She had no idea who her actual parents were, but she had been kindly taken in by Ilia, who had married Shad. Ilia was from Ordon Village, and only left when she had been kidnapped by King Bulblin. She had ended up in the Forgotten Village. There she had been cared for by the last of the Shekiah, Impaz. She later escaped to Castle Town, but tragically lost her memory. Luckily, her friend Link helped her gain it back. During that time she met Shad. Shad was a scholar and researcher, he particularly loved to study sky beings known as the Oocca. They met in Kakariko Village, and the rest was history. Shortly after the Twilight Occupation, Shad and Ilia were engaged and later married. They were planning on having children of their own, but once they found Linkle, plans changed. Ilia and Shad had decided to name her Linkle, after how similar she looked to Link. Now Ilia's friend Link has gone back to Ordon Village. Linkle had visited him there, but she hadn't been in awhile. She had been cooped up in her Castle Town home for far too long.

The only person who understood Linkle was her friend Sheik. Sheik was the actual last of the Shekiah, but Linkle wasn't supposed to tell anybody about him. One night a week they snuck out of Castle Town and went to train in Hyrule Field. Sheik used throwing knives, daggers, smoke bombs, and darts. Linkle on the other hand only used crossbows. Linkle told Sheik everything, but Sheik was very secretive about his own life, and would never explain why his existence had to be kept a secret. One thing that Linkle did know about Sheik other than his combat skills was that he loved to play the harp. He often carried it around and Linkle had always been curious about its origins, but she dared not ask. Linkle had always secretly hoped that she could one day go on a cool adventure like the Hero of Twilight. Link was the only other person who knew about her fighting skills, and had even offered to help her learn to use a sword. Every time she went to Ordon Village though, he had been too busy.

One morning Linkle woke up only to find a bright green hood, and a pair of tall brown boots with laces in the back on her bed. Linkle knew that this could only mean one thing, it was Ilia's way of telling her that today she was going to Ordon Village. The only problem was she was supposed to meet with Sheik tonight. So, Linkle left a note on her desk telling him where she was going to be and apologizing that she wouldn't see him until next week. Linkle got dressed and packed a bag, she even packed her wooden crossbows and arrows, hoping that this time Link could give her some lessons. Otherwise, maybe she could go into Faron Woods and practice that night.

Later when their wagon was filled up, Linkle and Ilia set off to Ordon Village. Shad was away on a researching trip, and would join them later. It was a couple hours from Castle Town to Ordon, but with a stop in Kakariko Village it went by quickly. Finally, they entered Ordon Village.
