Hey, all! I'm back with a new story, and this time, I'm gonna do a rewrite of the Super Mario Bros Movie that came out earlier this month. Knowing that, there will be spoilers, so to those who haven't seen it, I suggest you do lest you get spoiled by something down the road, then come back to read this.

Now to make things clear, this isn't just some copy-paste of the script and call it a day, because what would be the point of that when you can experience the source material yourself? No, I plan on expanding the plot of the film while fixing the main issues of it, mainly the pacing and lack of character development. In addition, I also plan on either rearranging scenes in a different order or way than how they appeared in the movie and even take out scenes in replacement of completely new ones in addition to others that weren't featured to begin with. Also, due to copyright, I will keep a couple iconic lines from the film, but the majority of it will feature original description, dialogue, etc.

And if you're worried about the song, "Peaches", unfortunately that won't be in this remake, but I'll make a replacement while having the same, whimsical energy the original did, so you Bowser fans don't have to worry. I'll also add in a couple easter eggs of my own just for fun. One last thing, this story will be shorter than my normal story length, but I'll strive to keep the same quality of writing as before. Without further ado, here's my remake of The Super Mario Bros Movie.

The Super Mario Movie Redux

Chapter 1: Invasion

Bowser's Castle

Bowser played the piano as he was working on a new song, one that he was gonna use to confess his love for Peach, one who wasn't the easiest to swoon over. Bowser always had an obsession with her ever since he first laid eyes on her; it was the whole embodiment of the 'love at first sight' cliché, but the Koopa didn't care. Bowser knew what he wanted in his love life, and Peach exemplified all of that: her physique, her beauty, her charm, and tough personality. In his image, she was a reflection of him, and it was all he could ever hope for.

He had spent many hours in his room, messing with many chords and lyrics to get the best of both worlds to appease her heart, but he was so picky about very specific things like how long a verse should be or the right chord the song should be played in because he was a Koopa of many different talents and trades, something he hoped Peach would be drawn to.

But this back-and-forth had been going on for many years. No matter how many tries or how much he changed up his scheme, she always said no. He hated that word, especially when it was uttered from her mouth. That pushed him to resort to different means, which was why he was after the fabled Super Star. The Super Star was known as one of the rarest artifacts in the Mushroom World, which was why for the past few months, he sent scouts to try and find the Super Star as he planned to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom should Peach not give in to his demands. Well, they weren't demands in his eyes, but he would have to phrase it that way to induce fear in her, especially since he learned how much she cared for her kingdom. That was one trump card he had up his sleeve.

He hummed to himself when there was a knock on the door. "I'm busy," he growled. "Can't you read the sign? It says, 'do not disturb', so do what it says and leave me alone!" There was another knock. Bowser got up and grumbled. "For crying out loud!" He opened the door. "Can't you-" He paused as Kamek, his advisor, bowed to him.

"Forgive my intrusion," the Magikoopa said. "But there's something I must speak with you urgently about."

"It can wait until my jam session is over! Leave at-"

"We have found the Super Star." Bowser paused. They have? He smiled. Finally, after all this time, the search has come to an end.

"Explain."

"The Koopa General has returned from his reconnaissance and he stated that the Super Star is located in the Snow Kingdom due east from here. That's where it's hidden."

"Bring him to me."

"Sire?"

"I want to hear it from the Koopa's mouth. My plan rests on being certain that's where it is. We need to be certain, or else my bargain will fail. Bring him to me at once."

"As you wish, Your Brashness." As Kamek left, Bowser felt a tinge of relief. While it was nice to hear some sort of good news in a while, it still didn't make him comfortable until he was certain of its location. He did trust the Koopa General. He was made general for a reason because of his reliance on getting his tasks done quickly and accurately, even if the end of his actions that revolved around Peach ended the same with her escape, but that was besides the point. He still trusted him regardless, but absolute certainty was a must for his plan to go off without a hitch.

A couple minutes later, Kamek and the blue shelled Koopa General entered the room. "Lord Bowser," the Koopa General said, bowing, "You requested my presence?"

"Indeed. Report to me your findings. Were you able to locate the Super Star?"

"Yes. I scoured the Snow Kingdom for days and saw where the location of the Super Star is. It's located in the deepest parts of the citadel, but it's hidden in a Question Block away from prying eyes. But knowing you, Sire, getting it shall be a cinch."

Bowser chuckled. "Of course it will be. We all know that ice is weak to fire. Getting it will be a piece of cake, not that Peach has ever made me some, but that's about to change. Get the troops ready. It's time we visit the Snow Kingdom and get my prize."

"Yes, my lord. For the Darklands." He saluted and left.

"Always so loyal," Kamek said. "No wonder you made him general. As for me, I shall make preparations myself." He teleported out of the room.

"Yes." Bowser turned to the Peach photograph that sat on the piano. "My sweet Peach, you have just become one step closer towards being mine."

The Snow Kingdom was a peaceful kingdom. The Snow Kingdom spanned for thousands of miles, covering the land with the titular snow and ice with the regular snowstorms and blizzards. The residents of the Snow Kingdom, the Penguins, lived isolated from the rest of the world and rarely had any tourists due to the blizzards, but they still made life work for them. But because of that, that meant that they would be vulnerable to any invasions, and Bowser's Castle made that easy because of its ability to float, which was an idea Bowser took pride in as he stared at the chilling blizzard from his throne, though he wasn't cold, or at least he wouldn't tell his minions that even though he was quivering a bit on the inside of his shell, but who needed to know that? There was no need to answer that rhetorical question. "Sire." Kamek walked to him. "We're approaching the citadel now."

"Good. Soldiers! Lower the chain balls! We're disembarking at once!"

As the castle grew closer to the citadel, the chain balls were launched into the ground as the castle was lowered into the ground, crushing any buildings that stood beneath it as they crumbled into rubble. The gate lowered as the soldiers marched out one-by-one, lining in rows, as Kamek teleported to the front. "Behold the King of the Koopas!" He slapped his wand on the ground, the soldiers saluting as Bowser walked through the aisles until he stopped in front of his army.

"Open the gates!" he yelled. The doors of the citadel opened as the Penguins glanced at them with menacing looks with the Penguin King's gaze averting to Bowser's, but he wasn't afraid. Considering none of them had any weapons on them, there wasn't going to be much effort to win after all, just as he expected.

"Lord Bowser," the Penguin King said. "What brings your presence here?"

"Like that's any of your business."

"But it is. You've come here for an important reason, and it's my job to find out what that exact reason is, so you will tell me what it is or else you will face our fury." He snapped his fingers, the Penguins readying themselves with snowballs, which made the Koopa King snicker before bursting out loud in laughter.

"Your fury?! You plan on unleashing your fury with snowballs?! Give me a break!" He collapsed to the floor, rolling as he unleashed his laughter onto the penguins. "Oh, I'm so scared of being pelted with snowballs! I'm so trembling with fear!" The laughter continued for a few more minutes before he stood up. "Give me a break! You have no idea what true fury looks like! Look at my army! At my signal, I'm ready to order them to decimate you all with one word! How can you match our might?! That is the true definition of fury!"

The Penguin King sighed. "You may be right. We might not have the ferociousness that you have, but that will not stop us from defending our land. I know how you are, Bowser. You don't just come here on a whim. Even though we're isolated here, I've still heard all the atrocities that you've committed towards a potential relationship with Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom. You can conquer the Mushroom Kingdom with the army you have now. As you said before, you have the fury to get the job done. But knowing all that and the fact that you've chosen to come here tells me one specific thing: you're after the Super Star, aren't you? You crave power, and the Super Star would give you just that. But we aren't going to surrender power that isn't yours. The Super Star has kept the Snow Kingdom protected for hundreds of years, and you have no right to take what's not yours! Attack!"

The Penguins charged at them, throwing their snowballs at them, knocking some soldiers down, but Bowser rolled his eyes. "Minions." He narrowed his eyes. "Take them down!" They yelled as hundreds of minions charged past him, attacking the Penguins with their weapons as they screamed, running away in fright.

"No!" He glanced at the Penguin King. "You can have the Super Star, just don't hurt my people! I beg you!"

"You should've done that a long time ago. Now look at you, groveling at my feet for mercy. Pathetic!" He kicked him as the penguin flew into the snow. Bowser grabbed him by the scuff. "Listen very closely," he growled. "I don't care how many have to die. I will accomplish my mission with Peach, and nothing will stop me, including pathetic beings like you." He threw him aside as he landed into his people, knocking them down.

"All troops are acquired, Sire."

He smirked as he turned to Kamek, who pointed at all the Penguins collapsed together as Koopa Troopas pointed their spears at them, threatening to hurt them lest they move a muscle. "Excellent work, Kamek." He glanced at the citadel. "Time to set this place ablaze!" He unleashed his ferocious fire onto the building, the citadel crumbling as it collapsed into the ground with a humongous crash that sent snow everywhere, a sight Bowser had longed to behold. As the snow cleared, Bowser stared in awe at the Question Block that stood in front of him. There it was, his prized possession just a few meters away from him. Now, time to claim it. He climbed to it as Kamek floated one brick after another to his feet, creating a stairwell that led to it. As Bowser came close to it, he punched it with all his might, the block cracking until it exploded, but he was unfazed by the explosion as the Super Star hovered in front of him, glowing brightly against the dark, gray, and cloudy sky. "Finally, I found it. Now nothing's gonna stop me!"
