Chapter 58:
Malleus and Lilia were out for an evening walk together when a scream filled the air.
"That came from the coliseum." Malleus stated as they turned to the direction of the coliseum.
"It sounded like Odette." Lilia said. "We should go check it out."
They appeared in the empty coliseum to find nothing but Odette passed out on the stage.
"Odette?" Lilia called out as they approached her. "She's out cold." Lilia informed Malleus as he looked her over.
"She smells like blood, is she injured?" Malleus asked as he crouched next to Lilia.
"Yeah, her hands and arms look like she's been attacked by an animal." Lilia said as picked Odette up and placed her in Malleus's arms. "We should get her back to her dorm.
They disappeared into sparkles then reappeared in her room.
"Put her on the bed." Lilia ordered as he picked Odette's phone that was sitting on her bedside stand. "Silly Ducky leaving her phone behind and no password?" He muttered as he unlocked her phone.
Lilia had totally by passed her 'lock screen' of her and the SDC group but he stopped at her background. A photo she had taken of them at his birthday. Everyone in the photo looked happy even Sebek. He smiled as he looked at the photo.
"What are you doing?" Malleus asked as he gently placed Odette on top of her bed.
"Sending a text for her." Lilia answered as he quickly typed out two messages one for Ace and one for Deuce. "We should get out of here before her other friends show up." He said making his way to the window.
"Lilia, what could have cause these wounds?" Malleus asked as he looked down at Odette who hadn't moved but was beginning to mutter in her sleep.
"It's hard to say but it's a surprised she was alone in the first place she's always with someone even if it's just Grim. I wonder where he went off too. Maybe the beast scared him off." Lilia said muttering the last part to himself.
"I think I'll walk around the campus a bit longer." Malleus informed him.
"Alright, no mere beast is a match for you after all but I wouldn't be out too late there's still more the culture fair to enjoy tomorrow." Lilia reminded him. "I highly recommend that you're not here when her other friends show up." He said then disappeared into his pink sparkles.
"Very well." Malleus muttered to the air. He didn't stay long once Lilia left. He simply pushed her falling hair behind her ear and disappeared as well.
Lilia was just about to go to bed when the dorm phone rang. He quickly picked it up after one ring. "Hello?" He asked.
"Vice Housewarden VanRouge? This is Headmage Crowley. I'm calling all Housewardens to a
emergency meeting at the Main Street immediately. Please inform Draconia at once." Crowley stated quickly then hung up.
"What's this then?" Lilia wondered as he put the phone back in it's cradle. He quickly appeared at the location. Of course he was the first to arrive.
Once everyone was there and Crowley explained the whole situation. 'So it was Grim who attacked her like that, how strange.' He thought.
"Malleus is out for an evening scroll I'm here in his stead. I admit I'm not great at finding things but I suppose another pair of eyes can't hurt." Lilia explained to the group.
Once the group broken up to search for Grim, Lilia decided to return to the scene of the crime.
"My, the little monster certainly did some damage to the stage. What was he looking for so intently" Lilia mused as he investigated the broken floor boards of the stage.
Several were split and splinter with claw marks all over them. He knelt near the edge of the hole to see patches of Grim's fur. "It seems he did just as much damage to himself." Lilia muttered as he look down at the ground to see a hole as deep and wide as Grim was tall. "What could possessed him to do this?" Lilia wondered as his phone began to ring.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Vice HouseWarden VanRouge, I'm calling to inform you that Grim has been capture. Thank you for your help, please return to your dorm." Crowley said then quickly hung up.
"Oh good, a happy ending. I'm sure Grim is getting lectured seven ways to Sunday." Lilia chuckled as he returned to his dorm just in time to see Malleus return as well. "Welcome back Malleus, how was the rest of your stroll?" He asked.
"It was fine. Children of man confuse me, despite her injuries Odette left her dorm to seek out her companion. I saw them at the main street." Malleus said as they headed up to their rooms.
"She must be thrilled they've been reunited." Lilia commented.
"But they weren't Crowley has informed child of man that Grim is no condition to be returned to her." Malleus replied.
"They're saying he is what attacked her." Lilia informed him.
"Then why look for him? Why keep them apart?" Malleus asked looking confused.
"That's a question for Odette and Crowley, I can't answer that." Lilia sighed. "I hope everything turns out for them."
"Me too." Malleus mumbled.
'So much for that happy ending, I have a feeling this doesn't bode well.' Lilia thought as he closed his door behind him.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. Sorry it's so short. I've been promising a POV chapter for some time and I finally found a good place to put one. It also answers questions the game leaves open. For such a short chapter it does a lot of work. I'm trying to work more of these into the next arc. This arc I think is going to be harder to write, partly because I have never written any of and partly there's so much I can cut out but there's so much I have to shift through to fix out what's important. I want to try and keep my daily upload schedule but I might not be able to but I'll give you a heads up when that happens.
