After The Storm

Chapter 14

(Momma has you to focus on. That matters way more than high school drama and a love triangle. That I can't seem to break free from.)

(Let's get you inside.) Brooke said.

As she unbuckled her seatbelt and went towards the backseat.

She grabbed securely of the carseat. And made her way towards the front door.

(I have real life stuff going on. I have no time or energy for whatever this is.) Brooke stated matter of fact.

(I've been wanting to reach out I just didn't know how and what to say.)

( I want to fix what was broken. I love you Brooke. You're my family.)Peyton said.

As if she knew what was going on.

Salem started to cry.

Brooke rushed inside. Ignoring Peyton fully.

And instead focusing on her daughter.

Once they made it upstairs to the nursery. Brooke started to look over Salem to figure out what she needed.

It wasn't a diaper change and when she tried to feed the infant she wouldn't eat.

So instead she simply soothed her and rocked in the rocking chair.

The baby soon stopped crying.

Brooke gazed into her little girl 's eyes and knew she would be the mom she wished she had.

...

Lucas knew now more than ever. He couldn't remain living with his mom.

He had to get a place with a spare room for Salem.

(Or just move in with me. I'll be leaving for LA soon enough.)

(We don't have to hide anymore Luke. I love you and I don't care who knows.) Peyton explained. Later on that day.

(I have to be there for Salem and Brooke.) Lucas replied.

Peyton rolled her eyes. (She's pushed you awsy basically the whole pregnancy.)

(Plus us being in LA together feels right. Salem won't remember you being gone. Brooke doesn't want you or you're help.) Peyton said.

Lucas thought it over. Brooke was tolerating him at best. What was keeping him here? Lucas questioned.
