The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 62
After celebrating with Derek and Penelope a few more minutes Hotch excused himself and headed to the BAU to talk to the director about a permanent position for Luke with the team. Even though he hadn't gotten to go on any cases with them yet he was beneficial in keeping Derek safe after he'd been stabbed and left for dead thanks to some paid off guards.
Hotch was not sitting out in the waiting room with the directors secretary, she had just told the director that Aaron Hotchner was here to see him, after a couple of minutes he told her to send him on inside. She said, "you can go on in Agent Hotchner", he thanked her and took a deep breath before walking around her desk and heading toward his door, he knocked and heard a, "come in Aaron".
He opened the door and stepped inside, making sure to shut the door before walking over stand in front of the directors desk, he smiled and said, "please Aaron, please have a seat", he said, "thank you sir" and did just that. The room was quiet for a few seconds before the director said, "I already know why you're here", he looked at the director and said, "you do?", the director said, "it's about Alvez, right?", Hotch said, "yes, yes sir it is".
The director said, "what is it that you need?", Hotch said, "we would like to have him on our team permanently", the director said, "I agree with you Aaron, even though he didn't go with the team on any cases he did ensure Agent Morgan's safety after that who debacle in jail and I think he's make a great addition to the team".
Hotch said, "thank you sir", the director said, "I've given the okay but the decision is up to Alvez", Hotch nodded his head and said, "I'll go talk to Luke right now sir", the director smiled and said, "good, good". As Hotch stood up the director said, "so how are Morgan and Garcia doing?", Hotch laughed and said, "they couldn't be better, they engaged", the director laughed and said, "wow, Morgan doesn't waste any time does he?", Hotch said, "it was Garcia that proposed to him".
The director said, "I've always like that woman", Hotch grinned from ear to ear and said, "me too sir, me too", he then made his way across the office and out the door, he had gotten approval from the director now to get the approval from Luke himself. As he rode down in the elevator he kept thinking, what if he says no, what if he does't want a full time position with us, he was soon pulled from his thoughts when the elevator doors opened.
After stepping off of the elevator he headed toward the bullpen area where he ran into Luke, Hotch smiled and said, "just the person I was looking for", Luke said, "oh, you were looking for me?", Hotch said, "I was, I have a proposition for you". Luke said, "I'm all ears Hotch", Hotch said, "what would you say if I offered you a full time position with us here at the BAU?", Luke said, "really?", Hotch said, "yes really".
Luke said, "but I haven't gotten to go away with the team on any cases yet", Hotch said, "true, but, you were beneficial in keeping Derek safe after he was stabbed and left for dead", Luke thought for a few seconds and held out his hand and said, "you have a deal Hotch" causing the men to smile as they shook hands.
Hotch said, "the team is on stand down until Monday so you just have a little paperwork to complete and then you will be a full time agent with us here at the BAU", Luke said, "when and where can I get started with that paperwork?", Hotch said, "follow me and we'll get it started", he nodded his head and followed his new boss to get the paperwork finished so that he could be the newest member of the BAU.
