P.P.S In this timeline, Trunks was not the one to deal with Mecha Frieza coming to Earth as Goku had used Instant Transmission to be there before he could attack. He has no reason to expect Trunks to be a Super Saiyan or a Saiyan at all for that matter.

Kurai was at the Check-in Center and failed to stem the headache at the sight of it contained in a massive jelly bean of all things. Why bring Janemba into this world? It would've made more of a challenge — and fun if Fuhai's demented idea of it was taken into account — if they had just managed to best the Buus, but everyone had grown much stronger and able to take on Janemba without too much trouble. Fuhai — if this was his game plan — did choose a slightly more effective time as the four Time Patrollers were still on Namek — or if that hadn't worked and were still somewhere in space — to see if Porunga could accomplish what Shenron couldn't. There was also the fact that without Goku and Vegeta dead there would be no way for them to know what was going on. Janemba had been a decent threat to be sure but the demonic monster wasn't anything above The current Z-fighters' ability to handle, if anything he wasn't a threat at all.

First things first though.

"Stupid Barrier! Freakish Jelly Bean! Disgusting loser!" He shouted before cracks suddenly spread all across the jelly bean barrier.

He transformed into a Super Saiyan and blasted the damaged jelly bean barrier with a kamehameha, causing it to shatter and restore the Check-in Center back to normal. He quickly did a check inside and made sure King Yemma was more or less okay, who — despite being a bit frazzled — seemed steady. King Yemma said the creature had jumped down to hell to cause havoc and Kurai sighed, history repeating itself once again.

"Now that you've restored The Check-in Center, we can once again begin collecting souls and keeping the dead from returning to the world of the living." King Yemma boomed as his staff hurried around, frantically getting things sorted and ready for the influx, "We will send aid as soon as it is available, but you may have to deal with this alone, so try not to hold draw out the fight."

Kurai nodded determinedly, he was sure than any help would be great to have, but he was sure that he was strong enough to handle Janemba on his own.

Freiza hadn't actually expected much from the earthlings as his forces converged on them, he had a fair idea what the little bald earthling could manage given the altercation on Namek, and that being his expectation for the rest, he expected them to be subdued easily enough by his forces. He hadn't expected the increase in base power from the earthlings and he also didn't expect all of them — sans the boy with pink hair — to use that same red-aura technique that Goku had used on Namek before he became The Super Saiyan. His soldiers were quickly being decimated under the assault of the defenders, also their red ki didn't seem to fade after a few seconds. Freiza sighed in annoyance, apparently the earthlings hadn't languished after leaving Namek and denying Freiza his chance at immortality. Why was it that his forces alway seemed too inefficient to deal with any threats against him, no matter how insignificant or underwhelming? He'd have some major work cut out for him to overhaul the training regimen of his forces once he was back in his Empire.

Frieza scowled, "If you want something done right…"

He powered up and rushed at the group of earthlings, all of them dashing out of the way in a burst of red ki before he could hit them. With a malicious grin he chased the bald human he had faced on Namek, blinking as he managed to raise his arms to block his initial blow. Red ki flared from where Freiza's fist impacted, sending slivers of red and purple ki swimming through the air around them.

Krillin scowled at Freiza as his red ki was still shrouding him, "Don't think I am the same as before!"

He impaled this earthling in his second form and almost killed him if not for the young namekian with healing powers saving him. How the hell did he manage to actually even stop a blow from his final form even if it was suppressed? What sort of training did this insignificant worm put himself through that allowed himself to even mount a decent defense?

Freiza hadn't been able to train — or wanted to train for that matter — since Namek as he was more or less stuck in a cocoon in his own version of Hell when he wasn't in a cell. Since he hadn't, his power was no more than when he came as a cyborg to Earth which — thanks the most brilliant technicians in space working — was supposedly stronger than his organic form that he had when he was on Namek. Despite those enhancements lost as he became a spirit, the power level had remained, but hadn't gone past that in any manner.

The same couldn't be said for the earthlings since their revival.

They knew that they were not ever going to be able to really keep up with Goku and the rest of the saiyans despite how much they always wanted to pull their weight. Super Saiyan and the subsequent boosts and sheer growth of the saiyans made standing on their level damn near impossible, especially with Kurai spurring on their training to get stronger. That being said, that didn't mean any of the humans had any intention of not trying to improve and get stronger as much as possible. Super Saiyan may have been out of their grasp but there was a technique that they had seen and even used themselves to help bolster their own power. In the year since the Buu fiasco, Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and even Chiaotzu all progressed and drilled hellishly with the Kaio-ken, knowing that the level Goku could manage when he was back on Namek was within reach of a human. In the six months while Kurai, Goku, and Vegeta was prepping for Super Saiyan 4, they all achieved Kaio-ken times twenty; the next six months had been spent building up their durability to be able to hold it without overexerting themselves and knocking them out. It was grueling and difficult work, and going to to the lookout to make sure Dende was on hand to heal them so they could get back to work was the only thing that made it feasible.

Even though the main result was achieved as they could hold Kaio-ken time 15 for an indefinite amount of time, there was the added bonus of the training also having helped improve their base power level much higher as well. They were leagues beyond the humans and warriors they were before, and that was becoming a necessity given the warnings Kurai had given to the Z-fighters.

Despite all of that, Krillin knew that even if he beat Frieza on his own with his current power level and Kaio-ken, this was nowhere near enough for what was coming. Maybe if he cranked his Kaio-ken higher he could fight stronger beings, but his encounter with Bojack taught him patience and wearing himself out would only get him killed faster if he couldn't take Frieza down before the toll became too much.

Kaioken times twenty was all he could do without straining himself, so it would have to be enough.

He and Frieza traded blows as they blitzed through the air, Krillin doing his best to not give ground against the alien. Freiza growled at the lack of progress and began to amp up his power, he hadn't gone beyond 20% and therefore he had much more power to spare.

Krillin gritted his teeth as Frieza released more of his power and began to overwhelm the human. Krillin had forgotten that Freiza was still holding back considerably in regards to his power and was a complete monster in many senses of the word. Frieza managed to open a hole in Krillin's defense and slammed a punch into the monk's face that sent him crashing down to the ground. Frieza spun and caught the two fists courtesy of the earthlings that were about to blindside him in attempt to outnumber him.

"Pathetic." He sneered.

His tail swung out and crashed against the two sending them careening into the side of a cliff face. Krillin got to his feet and powered up his kaio-ken again, teeth gritted as he glared at he former emperor who was still holding back. Freiza crossed his arms and smirked at the small earthling, cocking his head in a mockery of interest.

"What's wrong? Scared that you are too weak to mount an effective attack?" He taunted.

He felt a wave of pressure and turned to see the other two bursts of glowing red ki exploding the cliff he had just sent the two earthlings into. They surrounded him before they all nodded to each other before well as they all charged at him. Frieza ground his teeth together at the sheer insolence of these fools thinking that they had any chance against him. They were clearly stronger than The Ginyu Force and would've made formidable additions to the empire he planned to reclaim once he was done here. Unfortunately their morality was probably more in line with Goku's and they would never agree to join him. The four were a blur of arms, legs, a tail, and ki as they battled across the wasteland. He was impressed that with their training had carried them this far, maybe he should consider some training when he had fully consolidated his forces under his leadership once again. He was honestly enjoying fighting like this in a flesh and blood body after spending so long in a cocoon in a flowery field and listening to asinine singing and dancing numbers by idiot creatures with no sense.

But as all good things do, they must come to an end.

He let more of his power out and was at 85% he finally overpowered and knocked away all three of the humans that had been attacking him.

"Honestly," He sighed, "You would go far if you chose to work for me. Any interested in taking a position in the Freiza Force?"

The three-eyed human staggered to his feet followed by the other humans and took a fighting stance as the red ki — that dissipated upon being smashed into the ground — exploding out as he caught his breath, "Go to Hell."

Frieza sighed in mock disappointment before he smirked cruelly powering up to 100%, "Very well… You three may go first."

He fired a barrage of death beams at the humans only for a flash of silver to deflect the beams into the nearby area without harming the humans. He cocked his head at the pink-haired boy who landed and set himself into a fighting stance with his sword drawn, focused on Frieza.

"Trunks!" Krillin cheered, "What took you so long?"

"Ran into some friends that wanted to chat a bit," He replied coolly, "Don't worry. I can handle Freiza, you all can rest."

Frieza scowled at the boy, "Handle me? You have some confidence for an earthling boy."

Trunks smirked, "Oh? That's right… you don't know, do you?"

Freiza scoffed, "Don't know what?"

Trunks exploded outward and his hair flared gold as he transformed into a Super Saiyan, a wave of power erupting off his body.

Freiza mouth dropped open and he stepped back in horrified shock, "No… No… No! You can't be, not again!"

Trunks grinned, "I am a Saiyan. Specifically? A Super Saiyan!"

Gohan and Piccolo both scowled at the state of the city was in; even with their combined efforts, dozens upon dozens had died before Gohan and Piccolo had managed to kill the dead all over again. Building had collapsed, fires raged through the streets and when all was said and done the city was in ruins. It wasn't a total lost cause as many had made it to the emergency shelters that were nestled deep in the earth — the people had created them made in case another situation like the androids happened — but too many lives were lost.

"This doesn't make any sense!" Gohan said bitterly, "Where the hell did these guys come from, it's not like they could've just popped up with us sensing them!"

"It's not that unbelievable." A voice piped in happily, "It just takes the right sort of mentality and a bit of pressure in the right places."

They turned to see Fuhai — or at least someone who resembled him based on Kurai's description — nearby smiling as though they were old friends.

Gohan face dropped into a scowl, "You did this! You brought the dead back to life!"

Fuhai laughed as though Gohan told him a hilarious joke, "Me? No! Not at all! Who I brought into this timeline? You may want to talk to him though, after he kills that meddlesome patroller preferably."

Piccolo tried to sneak up on the demon denizen, but the man vanished in burst of purple smoke, "Sheesh, it's not like I can fight! I just wanted to watch the show and spectacle, but he keeps on throwing off my fun. He's getting stronger and helping the guardians of Earth grow too strong! It's no fun if every fight is a forgone conclusion! So I lured him to Hell for the ambush of a lifetime, hopefully he manages to get himself killed so things progress more or less as they should!"

Gohan scowled, "So you drag these problems over to see if we live or die? Don't you have any respect for life, for the people who had nothing to do with it that die anyway? All of us have suffered enough!"

Fuhai scoffed, "You think so highly of yourself, you are too arrogant. You are one half-saiyan, in one of several galaxies, in a universe which is one several, in one of many timelines. You aren't all that unique either Gohan. Across endless and multiple timelines there are countless versions and variations of you that are similar that there is no difference and other Gohans out there that are unrecognizable! You've seen it when I pulled over that version of your very own father to fight Vegeta, what makes you think you are special? Any of your allies are functionally replaceable."

Piccolo frowned, "That's not for you to say. I know damn well that there are versions of us all across time. Ever since Kurai and Xtrunks talked to us about how things were originally supposed to be we've been aware of the nature of timelines. That doesn't mean anything to us, and no one — especially you — gets to deem us replaceable or unimportant. You are nowhere near important or powerful or even respected enough to make that call. You're not a god."

"Don't have to be." He smirked, "So long as I use this time ring, I have all the timelines in the multiverse in my palm. But do you really have time for this? Isn't your former time patroller friend about to be ganged up on in Hell by my personally-powered entertainment?"

Kurai expected Janemba.

He accounted for Janemba.

He did not account for six Janmebas.

He did not account for different versions of Janmeba.

He also did not account for the fact they all had been waiting for him.

Damn Fuhai.

He didn't even hesitate to go Super Saiyan 4 before the Janembas descended on him with malicious intent. He dove out of the way as the two non-empowered fat Janemba slammed into him and immediately began to weave and block as Super Janemba and Supervillain Janemba rained blows down on him. Small mercies as he didn't have to deal with either Janemba creating a blade out of one of the Ogre clubs as it seemed they were more focused on killing him. Not that their power was anything to worry about anymore, he had already surpassed his previous power level and Super Saiyan 4 on top of that meant that he could trounce them without too much issue.

Well almost all of them.

There was one Janemba that was colored like a Supervillain but the feeling was so much more menacing. He also wasn't going wild like the two he was currently engaged with but Kurai intimately knew the feeling of time-distortion ki — he had fallen victim to it once or twice in his early days as a patroller — and that one Janemba was so densely packed with it that he actually was having trouble accurately gauging his power. If he was stronger than Supervillain Janemba then he was potentially made with the intention of taking Kurai down.

Better Kurai take care of the rest of them so he could focus on the main threat.

Kurai broke out of their barrage and slammed his fists into the Super Janembas that wer attacking him, sending them crashing into the floor, the gorund rumbling from the sheer force of the collision. Able to take advantage of the stunned silence of the Janembas, Kurai blitzed one of the weaker yellow Janembas, attacking with a flurry of punches and kicks like Goku had when he fought Janemba in the timeline he originally occurred in. Only this time, Kurai knew better than to simply punch a hole through him as that might trigger his transformation into another Super Janemba. like Buu, Janemba had to be obliterated down to the last atom without any chance to reform into a new form or recover. Kurai knew that there was an ogre kid worker somewhere in there, but he had no choice when it came to the poor mutated ogre boy locked inside. Kurai didn't have a technique to extract the kid or purify Janemba like Gogeta did so he wouldn't be able to save him.

"I'm sorry kid." He murmured, refusing to let up in his assault, "I wish it hadn't come to this."

He kicked the large yellow Janemba into the sky and fired a powerful Light Grenade — one of his mentor Piccolo's signature moves — at it with unerring precision.

There was a massive explosion as he destroyed the being of malice and sighed in slight relief at the feeling of the ki vanishing.

"One down, five more to go." He sighed as he turned back to the other Janembas.

He blinked in shock.

Then he jerked himself back and began to block hurriedly as a dozen of tiny yellow Janembas rushed him, attempting to blindside him. He managed to blast them away with a one-handed Masenko but grimaced in frustration as the other two remaining were hurriedly creating tiny clones to overrun him. There were already at least two dozen of them hopping about, some of them already colored with the distinct ki of time-distortion. Kurai scowled realizing how bad this situation could get if not handled soon, he would not be able to fix this alone.

"Janemba! Janemba! Janemba!" The clones chanted as they bounced forwards.

'I really only ever fought Super Janemba, but I studied his iterations and knew he could create tiny versions of himself.' Kurai thought, cursing the fact he had known Janemba's techniques and let such an important one slip his mind, 'As much as I wish I could do this fast, I need to get to the main bodies but I can't close in on them while they keep spawning clones. Even with the distorted-ki they aren't a real threat on their own, Goku could beat them without needing to transform at all but the sheer number of clones will wear me down, even if they can't hurt me. Super Saiyan 4 stamina is better for drawn-out fights like this and I've refined it beyond its initial benefits, but it doesn't mean it's endless. Its impossible to outlast Janemba if those clones keep getting in the way of my attacks or disrupting my rhythm.'

He got into his stance and focused, trying to figure the shortest way to get to the main threats without running out of steam when he felt a foreign ki appear next to him. He raised his guard in an instant only to flinch as a roaring flame passed by him and consumed half of the Janemba clones in an instant. Kurai blinked as a figure next to him straightened, eyes widening in recognition as the figure tossed aside some of his clothes.

"You're… Pikkon!" Kurai breathed, "Hero of the West Galaxy!"

He gave Kurai a glance and nodded, "You must be the one who freed the Otherworld Check-in Center from this beings action, and for that I thank you. I was unable to keep the evil spirits from staying down until your actions. With the Check-in Center once again active, I was able to fully subdue my opponents and come to your aid. I apologize for being tardy."

Any more talk was halted as the Janemba clones charged the two warriors.
