I am just over the moon! I got not one, but two drawings made by lovely readers. I never expected someone to want to make a drawing for a story I wrote after reading it and I am just ecstatic! I can't express how much these mean to me and make me happy! It's an honour to receive them and I know I'll smile every time I remember them and come back to look at them.

SaniMay (AO3) Made a drawing of the scene of Ace clutching to Marco and Marco hugging him after he ate the humans. It can be found on AO3 and wattpad. For now in both chapter 5 and 6, but in a couple of days only chapter 5!

We're doing a timeskip (unknown how many months haha)! Marco already learned a bit of not attacking human, or that Ace doen't like it. May or may not still make a chapter on Ace teaching him this! But I thought it was time to give a brief view into how Marco sees the world.

POV Marco

If there was anyone left to look up, they would see a blond zombie enjoying a peaceful morning on the balcony of his apartment. Clutching the handrailing while blue eyes were staring over to the horizon, the zombie seeming deep deep into thought... the same thoughts he always had.

Some thoughts appearing more than others, but all thoughts still there were those that the zombie cherished most... Only ones to cherish. They were the only things on his mind. The only things his previous human had been able to MAKE himself remember after death.

Even if he doesn't understand it all. Why his living form wanted him to remember. ... He doesn't get a lot if things about himself and what's going on.

Ace often pulled him outside and they stood here.

He doesn't know why.

Ace sometimes sat in the chair, making him sit too.

He doesn't know why.

Ace's eyes watered when he looked at him every so often. He doesn't like that.

He doesn't know why.

Ace always talked to him. He liked hearing Ace talk.

He doesn't know why.

Ace smiled at him at times. He liked that smile.

He doesn't know why.

Ace watched him as he talked. Sometimes not talking, only watching, before talking more.

He doesn't know why.

But... if he grunted, in that pause, Ace smiled. He liked that smile.

So he grunted.

Ace held his hand when they walked. When they stood here. If he squeezed his hand, Ace smiled. He liked that smile.

So he squeezed.

Ace smiled when he copied him.

So he copied... did his best to copy.

Ace.

Everything for Ace.

Thoughts were interrupted as he heard sounds. Voices. Not Ace. Not important.
...

Humans.

Not Ace.

Below were humans.

Not Ace humans.

Eat humans.

Tasty humans.

Everlasting hunger.

But... Ace would cry. He doesn't like that.

He wouldn't eat.

Marco stayed still, watching over the city. Standing in the spot Ace always put him in.

...

That is until he heard more sounds.

For some reason he looked down.

Humans.

They were hitting something.

Hitting their doors.

Oh.

Bad.

Ace told him.

Doors, metal doors, protect them.

Protect Ace.

Ace needs doors.

No doors means Ace would hurt. He doesn't like Ace hurt.

A growl tore from his throat. And he turned around. Thoughts occupied with one mission.

Protect Ace.

Protect Ace.

PROTECT ACE!

He walked passed the bed, looking at Ace for one moment. As to make sure he was here before he marched on. Exiting the thing Ace called home. He made sure to close the door. Ace told him it was important. It protected Ace.

He walked the way he always walked with Ace when going outside. Using the stairs. Moving the obstacles and placing them back. Because they protect Ace.

In the last flights of stairs, he missed a step. He's not good at stairs.

He fell.

He fell far, all the way to ground level.

But he didn't mind.

He doesn't feel.

Ace cries when he sees him fall. He doesn't like that. So he tries not to. But it happens.

Without Ace, getting up took longer. But he copied Ace. Ace showed him how to get up. So he did. Slowly moving onto his belly. Slowly moving knees under him. Hands next to him, flat on the ground. And pushed.

Then is the tricky part. He needs to stretch his legs but also move back. Or he would fall again. Ace always helped him. Held him.

It took a few tries.

But he got up.

Now back on his mission. Protect Ace. Get the humans away from the door. Ace's doors.

Like Ace showed him, he unlocked the door.

The humans opening the door almost immediately.

They came up to him, his back still to them.

"Thanks man! You're the one that was upstairs? We thought you were a zombie from down here!" he laughed.

The man was turned away, pointing to the other human while he was turning around.

"This is my girlfriend Sophie. Any chance we could stay here? We'll take another floor though if you wa-"

"TED! WATCH OUT!"

Just as he was about to push the other out, the other human screamed loudly. They weren't allowed to stay. This was Ace's. Everything was Ace's. But the scream had made the one in front of him turn around and push at him instead.

The man yelling who knows what as he wobbled back, trying not to fall. He didn't listen to the yelling. He doesn't care. He only listens to Ace. Because he likes Ace's voice. Because Ace smiles when he listens. He likes Ace's smile.

He saw the human take something out and run for him. Attack. They were trying to attack him. Ace said... he said to attack back. Ace said... protect himself. Ace had cried before, when he had been attacked before and let it happen until Ace saved him. He didn't like Ace crying. So... protect.. Ace? No... yes? Yes... but also himself. Protect Marco.

So, right as the human was in front of him, he lunged. And before they knew it, he already had the human on the ground and was tearing into him. Weak. Weak... or surprised. He hadn't seemed... hostile... is what he heard Ace say before... But then he attacked.

...

Tasty.

Human was tasty.

...

Not attack human.

Ace cry when attack.

...

Ace... Ace wasn't here.

Ace couldn't see.

...

He was... hungry.

So hungry.

So ...

...

...

He ate.

As the human fought him. He ate.

Piece by piece. Even when the human stopped moving, when only the screaming from the other remained, he ate. He ate and ate, tearing off flesh, pulling out organs, anything he could get loose he pushed into his mouth and swallowed.

After a while, the human was cold. The flesh was cold.

...

It wasn't tasty anymore.

So he stopped eating.

Instead he got up. Took his time to get up and turned to the screaming. Or to what had been screaming. Now the human was sobbing. Choking on breath when he started to walk closer.

This one had to go too.

No one could stay.

This is Ace's place.

As he reached for them, his hand however stuttered and he focused on the neck.

Ace?

...

Ace in home. Not Ace.

But...

Ace?

...

If he was human, he would have blinked and cocked his head in confusion, but he wasn't human, so he didn't. He just stared. Stared at the neck, specifically a thing on the human's neck.

Beads.

Red beads.

Multiple red beads going around the human's neck.

...

Necklace.

Beaded necklace.

Ace.

Ace's...

Ace's necklace...

He growled loudly. That was Ace's!

Some weird picture flashed before him. Ace. Ace wearing a necklace. Ace having beads. Red beads around his neck. Smiling.

This human had red beads. Red beads around their neck.

The beads... the beads that made Ace smile in the picture. They were... Ace's. Ace's beads. With beads... Ace would smile. He liked Ace's smile.

He would get the beads. For Ace.

Reaching out he took hold of the beads. Pulling at them. Pulling at them. The human inside them sobbing at every pull. He continued.

Pulling. Twisting.

Even when the human made weird sounds. When they grabbed his wrist. When they stopped moving. He pulled at them until he got them. Got the red beads without the other human attached.

With the beads in a secure hold, he walked to the doors. Closing them. Like Ace showed him.

Once done he would go back upstairs. Give Ace his beads. Ace would smile. He liked that smile. He liked Ace.

He was happy with Ace.
