IMPORTANT UPDATE
Hey y'all, Twisted here.
Seeing as it's been almost a month now since my last chapter, I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on how things are looking at the moment, since there's been some pretty big developments over the last couple of weeks. I'm usually not one to post singular update chapters, but I felt like this time, it was warranted given the circumstances.
I'm just going to get right into it, since I'm not here to waste your time.
As some of you may know (if you've been paying attention to the author's notes on previous chapters), for the past three years or so, I've been working on an original book series in my spare time. It's been the most creatively challenging yet rewarding writing endeavor I have ever undertaken, and even now, the work is far from finished. But a couple of weeks ago, I sent the first four chapters out to a... pretty big publication house, just to "test the waters" a bit, along with a full synopsis of the first book and some of my plans for the sequels.
To be honest with you, I wasn't really expecting to hear back from them in any real capacity, as the book itself is not actually finished yet. It was pretty much just something I did because I was bored one night, and figured "eh, why not?"
But that brings us to the real reason I'm writing this update right now - because to my great surprise, the publication house actually got back to me last week. And they were interested in the book! They want me to send them the full manuscript as soon as I'm finished with it, to be reviewed by their editing team and considered for publication!
Now, what does this mean? Well, first of all, it means that... I have to finish this fucking draft lol. Because obviously, the publication house can't publish anything if there is nothing to publish. And second, it means that whatever spare time I have to write, has to be devoted to this project.
This is bad news for The Crimson Sorcerer. I can't have my attention dragged between two different projects anymore. Because now that there is an actual publication house in the picture, this whole writing thing just got a lot more serious.
So I think most of you will be able to understand why I have to make the following announcement: starting today, I'm placing The Crimson Sorcerer on a tentative hiatus, in order to focus on my original writing. I do not know how long this hiatus will be, nor do I know how often I'll be able to report back to you guys on my progress. I'm essentially just going to be putting my nose to the grindstone on this original project of mine, and hope it blossoms into something... bigger.
However, this does not mean that I will be abandoning this story. I've worked on this thing for too long to give up now, and I know for a fact that I would never forgive myself if I didn't finish it. So you can all rest easy, knowing I will return to these familiar shores one day.
For now, though, I would like to thank each and every one of you for reading my story. It has been my absolute pleasure to write for you all, and I hope that we will see each other again someday soon. If not, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and hope you've had a good time reading this silly little story of mine.
I will do my best to update you guys on the original project later on, when it's closer to completion. And obviously, I will be back to finish off this story as well, when I have the time. I might even drop some sporadic chapters here and there, if I have the leftover creative energy to do so.
And... yeah, that's pretty much it. So, until we meet again...
This is Twisted, signing off!
