Kittens and Costume Parties

[Castle Verse]

Part 2

The party was both all that Shinichi had imagined and nothing like he had imagined.

It began with the banquet which took place in the largest and most opulent dining hall that Shinichi had ever seen. There was a head table where the most well-known mages would be sitting with their spouses or personal assistants. More long tables filled the rest of the hall for use by the various servitors, tagalongs, and less esteemed guests.

All the silverware was real silver—which Shinichi thought was incredibly impractical but certainly did an excellent job of screaming the wealth of their host. The glassware too was real crystal, and the plates and bowls the finest porcelain money could buy. All of it glittered with reflections of the hundreds of magical lights that floated over the gathering.

The decorations, however, were nothing compared to the guests themselves.

Expensive fabrics, skilled tailoring, and lavish jewels were the least of it. There were spectacular garments woven from everything from fire and fog to fresh flowers and even frothing water. Some guests' clothes changed colors from moment to moment or fluttered in a nonexistent wind. One woman was surrounded by her own little galaxy of planets and stars and another trailed a myriad of afterimages with every gesture so that watching her do anything was disorienting in the extreme. There was a man clad in a suit of scaled armor who had a pair of horns sprouting from his hair to match and even a half lion thing that made Shinichi's hair stand on end every time it looked his way with yellow, slit eyes. He had the strong impression that the creature was contemplating his flavor. He wondered if it was an attendant who'd been given a magically altered form like himself for the party or a pet given a semi-human form for the same. Either way, it gave him the willies. There was too much beast in its eyes.

To Shinichi's great apprehension, he was obligated to sit at one of the lower tables with the other attendants while Kaito, being the head of a longstanding magician family of considerable repute, had been seated at the head table. It wasn't the separation that bothered Shinichi though. He had little patience for the politicking and pointless small talk such gatherings all but demanded. His worry stemmed from the fact that he could actually see Kaito's eye beginning to twitch as his pleasant smile grew fixed from where he was sitting. Granted, only someone who knew the magician well would have been able to notice the signs, but it was worrying. Kaito was, on most days, a very laid back person—albeit one with a streak of mischief a mile wide and a…unique sense of humor. But when he did get riled…To put it simply, he could be vindictive when given cause, and he wasn't above putting his immense and twisty ingenuity to use in pursuit of personal satisfaction.

Focused as he was on watching the head table for signs of trouble, Shinichi barely tasted his meal. It was a shame because the food was probably incredible. Considering their host's extravagant tastes, he probably had a accomplished chef from some prestigious culinary school heading his kitchen.

Shinichi was extremely relieved when the final course in the long parade of courses was finally removed from the tables by the servants. With the formal meal over, the various guests rose from their seats and streamed through a pair of intricately carved doors into a ballroom every bit as grand as the rest of the house. A small orchestra of floating instruments was playing at the far end of the room as though held in the hands of ghosts. Though the music was excellent, the sight lent it a certain eeriness it would not otherwise have had.

Having been swept into the ballroom by the tide of guests, it took Shinichi a moment to locate Kaito and work his way through the mingling crowd to reach his side. He passed by several couples who had decided to start the dancing as the orchestra had just struck up a lively jig, though, for the time being, most of the guests seemed content to chat while they digested their over large dinners.

"Is everything all right?" Shinichi asked softly when he reached Kaito, keeping a cautious eye out for anyone who might be close enough to overhear.

Kaito shot him a somewhat lopsided smile and shrugged. "As well as can be expected, I suppose."

The answer made Shinichi's brows furrow. "What do you mean?"

"Let's just say that I am keenly reminded of why I never liked these functions," the magician replied dryly.

Before Shinichi could respond, a dark-haired woman clothed in a dress entirely made of pink rose petals came sauntering up to them accompanied by the man in the scaled armor and Yamashira himself. The lady had been laughing at something their host had just said, but she turned her smile on Kaito the moment she spotted him.

"Ah, Kaito, I'm terribly sorry I didn't greet you earlier. I would have if there hadn't been so many seats between us," she said. "I haven't seen you at the conferences in ages. Has there been trouble in your lands?"

"Not at all," Kaito replied smoothly, donning a warm smile that probably looked sincere to everyone there except Shinichi. "We've been blessed with excellent business and much else besides these last few years. Alas, it has meant less time for excursions to events such as these and the conferences."

"That is a shame," the woman murmured, batting her eyelashes at him. "You've been an awfully difficult man to get in touch with these last few years. People have started calling you the ghost on the guest list. Imagine our surprise to see you here in the flesh."

Kaito shrugged. "No reason to miss out on a good ball."

"Indeed," Yamashira agreed, lips curling into a mocking smile. "To be honest, I've thought for quite some time that we should drop the conferences altogether."

"They certainly haven't been much fun of late," the lady mused, sighing.

"The concept was flawed to begin with," the armored mage put in, sipping lazily from a tall glass of ruby red wine.

"True enough," said Yamashira. "I mean, what magician in his right mind would suggest getting together to share his secrets with a bunch of competitors? Utter foolishness."

Shinichi felt Kaito tense beside him, and Shinichi recalled that the magicians conference to which these people were referring had actually been founded jointly by Kuroba Toichi and a handful of others back when he'd still been a young man himself. And all these people must know that. And Kaito knew that they knew, so their words could be taken only as insult. But to what end? Shinichi had no idea.

Shinichi took a discreet step closer to Kaito in the hopes that his presence would remind the magician to stay calm.

"Well, I hear the contests used to be quite entertaining," the lady offered. "But then that little debacle happened, and the committee added so many rules that the whole thing's now just too much work."

"You mean that time someone blew up the conference location?" the armored mage asked. "I heard a bit about that. It was, what, a decade and a half ago now, wasn't it?"

"Give or take a few years," the lady replied. "I heard it was the byproduct of some bumbling newcomer's attempt at magic he wasn't ready for."

The armored mage snorted. "The folly of amateurs."

"By all accounts though, it resulted in quite the fireworks," the woman continued. "So I suppose whichever idiot set it off had some power at least. Pity he wasted it in such a manner. Took a few other unfortunate souls along with him too."

Yamashira scoffed. "Any magician not skilled enough to protect himself from a little incident like that deserves whatever fate he gets."

Kaito went stiff, rage flashing in his eyes before they went totally flat. Shinichi found his hand in the folds of his cloak and squeezed it hard, reminding him not to react. When Kaito didn't respond, his worry grew, but, eventually, the magician let out a short, sharp breath and squeezed his hand in return.

Shinichi relaxed, but only by a fraction. He could tell that Kaito was hanging onto his temper by his teeth—not that Shinichi could blame him. These three insensitive casually discussing and even laughing about an incident that had claimed the life of Kaito's father like it was just some inconsequential bit of poorly organized entertainment. The fact that their version of the events was so wildly off the mark somehow made it all the more maddening.

Deciding on the fly that Kaito needed time to collect himself before he actually conversed any further with these people (let alone asked for access to the library), Shinichi did his best to put on a bright, excited smile and tugged on Kaito's hand.

"I like this next song. Do you want to dance?"

Startled by Shinichi's less than customary behavior, Kaito glanced down. Their eyes met, and Shinichi could see that the magician understood his motive.

A rueful smile flickered across Kaito's lips before his Poker Face slid back into place.

"Of course. It would be my pleasure," he said and politely excused the two of them.

"Sorry," he murmured to Shinichi later as they swayed on the dance floor. His expression had lost all joviality and settled into a grimness that made Shinichi's heart clench. "It's just—he saved lives," he continued, tension returning as his eyes flashed. "He could have saved himself. But he chose to help those magicians who didn't have the power or knowledge to escape the place on their own. If it wasn't for him, some of these bastards would've lost family. I know for a fact that Miss Pink Petals back there would be short a sister now if Dad hadn't done what he did. And they have the gall to say that he perished because he lacked the skills."

Kaito closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath. Shinichi suspected that he was counting to a very high number in his head. Shinichi wondered if there was a high enough number that would help him quell the beast of outrage those tasteless, derisive taunts had stirred.

"What they think doesn't matter," Shinichi murmured, hoping to soothe his magician's taught nerves.

Kaito sighed. "I know. I'm sorry. I almost lost my temper."

"But you didn't," Shinichi pointed out, leaning into the magician's embrace in silent comfort.

Kaito sighed and held him closer. "I wanted to. I was imagining turning our esteemed host into a slug."

"I thought you said you can't change the shape of someone with strong magic."

Kaito snorted. "He talks big, and I won't say he hasn't got some skill. But in terms of actual power, he's frankly sub par. It wouldn't even be a challenge."

"We need his good will," Shinichi reminded him.

"I know, I know. Can't blame a guy for dreaming."

Shinichi had to laugh at that. "No. I'm sure I'd feel the same way in your shoes."

The two of them fell into a companionable silence as they took a moment to breathe and let the earlier tension seep away. The music eddied around them, complex yet serene. It twined around them, guiding their steps, and, for just a little while, they found they could they could forget everything else and just enjoy this moment of tranquility with the one they loved.

"Feel better?" Shinichi asked some time later as they switched from a faster dance to another slow one.

"Very much," Kaito replied with a smile, lifting a hand to scratch Shinichi behind the ears. He grinned at the way Shinichi shivered and leaned into the touch. "Thank you. Not a day goes by that I do not thank the heavens for bringing you to me."

Shinichi turned pink and buried his face against the taller man's chest. "You say the sappiest things."

"I mean every word."

Shinichi made a show of grumbling, but he turned to nuzzle against the magician's neck. Kaito's arms tightened around him, and he let out a contented sigh, all but melting into the embrace.

"I think perhaps it's time we retire to our rooms," Kaito murmured.

Shinichi found himself sorely tempted, but he pulled back slightly and gave his magician a pointed look. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

Kaito blinked then frowned. "…No?"

"The library," Shinichi prompted. "You still haven't asked Yamashira about letting us check it out."

Kaito grimaced. "Why don't you ask him?"

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but he strikes me as the sort who'd take it as a personal insult if you sent a servant instead of asking him yourself."

"Well, maybe," Kaito admitted reluctantly. "Actually, more than likely, but he already hates me. And I have to say the feeling's mutual. He'll probably say no just for spite."

"Or he might not," Shinichi countered. "You did say he likes his money. Considering his tastes, he certainly needs lots of it. I doubt he'd turn away an easy business opportunity just to spite you."

Kaito was silent for a long moment before he let out a short, exasperated breath. "I'll bet anything he doubles his ridiculous fee just because it's me."

"That wouldn't be good business practice."

"Which he should care about why?"

"Because you're going to ask him in front of witnesses who might also come calling one day," Shinichi replied promptly, tilting his head in the general direction of the other guests and cracking a sly grin of his own.

Kaito blinked then laughed. "I see. He might risk a single business opportunity but not his actual business."

"Exactly. That's why I looked up his usual fees for you beforehand. You did go over the information, didn't you?"

"Of course I did." Kaito heaved another exaggerated sigh but relented. "Fine. I'll admit you make a good argument. I'll go talk to the little twit. But," he continued, leaning in to whisper directly into Shinichi's ear, "if I have to be civil to that bastard then I expect you to do a little something for me."

Shinichi tried and failed to suppress a shiver.

"Wha—what is it?" he asked, trying not to be distracted by the way Kaito's hands were sliding down over the curve of his hips to massage his behind. Aware of the very public venue (Kaito's concealing cape or not), he tried to wiggle away but stopped just as abruptly because that only made the situation worse. Caught between annoyed, embarrassed and aroused, he did his best to muster a glare as he caught the magician's wandering hands and tugged them pointedly away from his person.

Chuckling, Kaito gave a deft twist of his hands and caught Shinichi's wrists. He pressed a kiss to one of Shinichi's palms then leaned forward to bump noses with the blushing boy.

"Just a simple request," Kaito claimed before leaning in to purr the rest of his words into one furry ear.

Shinichi blinked then blushed bright red.

Before he could respond, however, Kaito released him and stepped back.

"Go on then," he said cheerfully. "I have a twit to go speak to." And he was gone.

"Honestly," Shinichi muttered to himself, though there was just as much fondness as exasperation in his voice (not that he would admit it). That man was incorrigible. Then again, he was Kaito.

Standing in front of the oversized mirror in the suite's equally oversized bedroom (not because he was using it but because it was just where he happened to be standing), Shinichi stared at the ridiculous excuse for undergarments dangling from his fingers like it was going to bite him. He had no desire whatsoever to put it on, but he didn't seem to have much choice. He had taken a quick shower, planning to change into more comfortable clothes, but he had immediately run into the problem that was his tail. In order to put on his nice, comfy everyday clothes, he would have to poke holes in them in some embarrassing places. But, if he didn't want to mutilate his clothes, then his options were very limited.

It was this dilemma that had him standing here now, naked but for the blue collar from his kitty costume (which he was still wearing because its clasp had disappeared, leaving him with no way to remove it), and staring holes through the only piece of underwear he had that had been designed with a tail in mind. Quite aside from the fact that he found its mere existence embarrassing in the extreme, he was not at all pleased at the idea of putting on underclothes that he had already taken off if he had any choice about it—which was, naturally, where his problem lay.

He had been oscillating back and forth between whether to wear the damned thing or sacrifice one of his other garments for the last several minutes. It was complicating matters that he had no idea where to go to lay his hands on a pair of scissors. He was just about to give in and finally put the stupid thing on so he could finally finish getting dressed when a pair of arms wrapped around him from behind.

Shinichi jumped and dropped the bit of blue silk he'd been holding. He looked up to see a familiar face grinning at him from over the shoulder of his reflection.

"Kaito! Don't sneak up on me."

The magician laughed, pulling him closer. "I didn't. You were just distracted. This is a pleasant surprise, by the way," he added. His gaze raked up and down the length of Shinichi's reflection—his very nude reflection. "Quite the welcome home."

Shinichi turned pink.

"That's not—I wasn't… I was just—!" he stuttered, trying to ignore the way his body was reacting both Kaito's proximity and the predatory way the magician's indigo eyes were exploring his person. That gaze alone was making Shinichi feel hot. His pulse quickened.

"There's no need to be embarrassed," Kaito admonished, lips curling into a decidedly wicked grin as he lifted one hand to play with the tag on Shinichi's collar. "A good little kitten should want to please his master."

"Ah! You're delusional! I wasn't thinking that at all!" Shinichi protested, trying to step on the stupid magician's foot.

Kaito deftly dodged the foot stomp, chortling. The hand playing with Shinichi's collar dropped to pinch and tweak his nipples. Shinichi squeaked, thoughts derailing.

"Kai, stop that! I'm supposed to be getting dressed."

"I don't think so," the magician breathed into his ear. "Just relax and feel."

The next thing he knew, Kaito's hand was between his legs. Long fingers closed around his rapidly growing arousal, giving it a hard tug that had Shinichi gasping and arching into the hand.

Kaito grinned. "Much better."

Shinichi's knees buckled, and Kaito lowered them both to the thickly carpeted ground. They were (not so incidentally) facing the mirror with Kaito kneeling behind Shinichi.

"Very nice," the magician murmured, smirking at their reflections. He kept one arm wrapped securely around Shinichi's waist as he continued to stroke and tease the panting kitty librarian to full arousal.

"K—Kaito," Shinichi panted, though even he wasn't sure if he meant the exclamation to be a protest or encouragement.

"Yes?" Kaito asked, releasing Shinichi's member and trailing his hand over the smaller boy's hip and down to give his bare bottom a good massage.

Shinichi squirmed, biting back a moan. Pleased by the response, Kaito took advantage of Shinichi's distraction to nudge him forward onto all fours. Then he leaned down to murmur into one furry ear.

"Did my little Shin-chan do as he was told?" Kaito asked, sliding a single finger past Shinichi's entrance. It slid in easily, and he added a second then a third. His little kitten had clearly made good use of the lube that Kaito had prepared for him (specially made for him with a secret touch of magic by yours truly just for such occasions). The magician pumped his fingers in and out slowly, relishing in Shinichi's gasps and stifled mewls. "I see you have," he crooned, smirking down at the blushing boy. "Good little kittens should be rewarded. And I do believe I have just the reward."

Catching Shinichi's gaze in the mirror, Kaito used his free hand to undo his pants and push them down, revealing his very prominent arousal.

Shinichi blushed harder, and his inner muscles stuttered and tightened around Kaito's fingers.

The magician smirked.

"Does my little Shin-chan want his reward now?"

Not trusting himself to speak, Shinichi made a noise that he hoped would pass for an affirmative. No such luck.

"What was that?" Kaito prompted. "I couldn't hear you~."

"Y—yes," Shinichi gasped as Kaito's fingers crooked, pressing hard into that spot that sent stars dancing across his vision.

"Yes what?" the magician pressed, and Shinichi nearly groaned out loud in frustration. He struggled to think around the overwhelming, all-consuming need burning inside him, trying desperately to figure out what his domineering lover wanted.

Those fingers crooked again, and he mewled.

"Yes p—please, Master Kaito," he begged.

Kaito smirked. "That's a good boy."

Sliding his fingers from where they'd been enjoying their little game of driving his kitten crazy, the magician moved to press the head of his now achingly hard cock against Shinichi's entrance.

Shinichi let out an involuntary moan of pleasure as he felt Kaito pushing into him, inch by hot, hard inch. The strain in his rear as he was stretched to his limit to accommodate his lover's thick, pulsating length made tears spring to the corners of his eyes even as it sent another intense wave of arousal pulsing through his body. He moaned again.

Buried to the hilt in Shinichi's perfect little hole, Kaito stilled, savoring the sensation of having Shinichi's tight, velvet heat wrapped so lovingly around him. He was acutely aware of every twitch and spasm of Shinichi's inner muscles as the boy adjusted to his size. He could feel every tremor of excitement racing through Shinichi's slender frame—could all but taste Shinichi's need for him. It made Kaito's own already rock hard cock pulse with desire. It was definitely time to get this show on the road.

The magician licked his lips and leaned over his panting lover.

"Do you like that?" he asked, voice low and teasing.

"Y—yes, Master," Shinichi whimpered.

Kaito rewarded him with a shallow thrust that nonetheless had Shinichi gasping and clenching around him. "Do you want more?"

He watched, fascinated, as Shinichi's furry cat ears twitched, flattening one moment and perking up the next as their owner shuddered under him.

A whine forced itself from Shinichi's throat as he wiggled his hips in growing desperation for Kaito to move. His tail swished, curling loosely over Kaito's arm. "Just move."

"Now Shin-chan, that's not how you ask for something. Try again."

"P—please, M—Master!"

"Good boy." With a satisfied smirk, Kaito pulled himself almost all the way out of his trembling lover, paused, then thrust back in with one swift, hard thrust, ramming himself deep into Shinichi's tight heat.

Shinichi screamed as his back arched, and he came hard, hands scrabbling at the carpet. He would have collapsed then if not for the magician's hands on his hips, holding him in place as Kaito began pounding into him hard and fast.

Each deep thrust sent a new wave of pleasure surging through Shinichi's body, and he mewled. In some distant corner of his mind, he realized that he was already hard again, but the thought melted away as soon as it surfaced. All he could think about were the hands gripping his hips and the large cock thrusting deep inside him again and again and again.

Shinichi hung on for as long as he could, but the stimulation soon grew to be too much. He came again, inner muscles constricting like a velvet vice around his lover's length. With a growl, Kaito drove himself as deep into Shinichi as he could before he followed suit.

Shinichi's overly sensitive body all but convulsed at the sensation of Kaito coming hard inside him, and he orgasmed again, mind going momentarily blank.

They collapsed together, breathing hard. They lay there for a while as they both caught their breaths. Eventually, however Kaito shifted and carefully extracted himself from his lover. Shinichi made a sound that was half mew, half whimper as Kaito's cock slid out of him.

With an effort, he collected himself and sat up, tail curling up behind him.

Catching the movement out of the corner of his eye, Shinichi glanced at his tail then up at Kaito. "So…how long am I going to have the ears and tail?"

Kaito looked thoughtful. "Under normal circumstances, the effects shouldn't last more than sixteen to eighteen hours total based on the amount you drank. But since you're having an unusual reaction, it's difficult to say."

"…That is not what I wanted to hear."

Kaito laughed. "Oh come now. You make an adorable kitten."

Shinichi rolled his eyes and grumbled something incoherent, but Kaito could tell that he wasn't as displeased as he was pretending to be. The thought made the magician's smile widen.

"Need a hand up?" he asked.

Not at all certain that his legs would hold him, Shinichi let Kaito help him to his feet. True to his suspicions, his knees nearly gave out on him when he tried to stand on his own, and he ended up leaning against the magician. Kaito automatically wrapped an arm around his waist to support him, and Shinichi smiled, letting his head rest on Kaito's shoulder for a moment. Sighing contentedly, he snuggled a little closer to the magician, shivering at the sensation of cloth against his skin.

His brows furrowed. Kaito was definitely overdressed. He looked up to comment but paused when he found Kaito gazing off behind him. Curious, Shinichi turned his head to see what had his magician's attention.

He found himself looking at the oversized mirror he had almost forgotten about.

The sight of himself wearing nothing but his blue kitty collar all but half wrapped around Kaito, who was almost fully clothed but for his unzipped pants, had Shinichi blushing madly even as it sent an embarrassingly intense wave of arousal pulsing through his over-stimulated body. It didn't help that he could actually see Kaito's cum leaking from his stretched entrance to slither down his bare inner thighs.

Shinichi stared, transfixed, at their reflections until he realized what he was doing and tore his gaze away, hoping fervently that Kaito hadn't noticed.

He'd never been able to hide anything from Kaito though. He was quickly reminded of this as a hand cupped his growing arousal. He jumped and tried to pull away, but Kaito wasn't having any of it.

The magician's arms closed around him, pulling him flush against Kaito's chest. Shinichi couldn't hold back a quiet moan at the feel of the fabric of the magician's clothes against his bare, sensitive skin. The hot, hard body he was being held captive against wasn't helping either. Despite his best efforts, Shinichi was finding it increasingly difficult to think.

Kaito chuckled. "Insatiable little kitten, aren't you?"

Shinichi blushed even as he shuddered at the sensation of Kaito's hot breath tickling his ear. "It's your fault."

Kaito smirked. "My, my, I'm flattered."

"I—I didn't mean it like that," Shinichi spluttered, mortified. "I was talking about your potion."

Catching Shinichi's chin with one hand, Kaito tilted the smaller boy's head up so that he could grin down into those beautiful, big blue eyes he loved. "You say that, but we both know you're having fun."

When Shinichi couldn't seem to find a response to that other than to blush harder, Kaito closed the distance between their lips.

The kiss left Shinichi breathless and clinging to the magician for support, furry kitty tail curled around them both.

Kaito grinned down at him, licking his lips. "Why don't you come sit on Master's lap and show him how much you're enjoying your reward?"

Steering the dazed and still unsteady kitty librarian over to the room's king-sized bed, Kaito shed his own clothes with a quick spell then eased onto the bed, tugging Shinichi with him. Soon, Kaito had settled himself down with his back to the fluffy mound of pillows piled before the headboard. He stretched out his legs, caught Shinichi's gaze, and smirked. The expression was all predatory promise.

"Come here, Kitten," Kaito ordered. The casual wave of his hand as he beckoned Shinichi towards him nonetheless managed to draw Shinichi's gaze to his master's extremely erect cock. The same large cock that had been pounding into him just a few minutes ago.

Shinichi's mouth went dry as his pulse jumped.

"Come here, Kitten," Kaito said again, affecting a stern tone though his eyes were gleaming. "You shouldn't keep your master waiting. Or do we need to do some obedience training?"

"N—no, I'm coming," Shinichi all but squeaked. He did not want to find out what perverted schemes Kaito might have in mind for his obedience training (he firmly squashed the tiny voice in the back of his mind that was whispering that finding out didn't sound so bad. He was still tempted to point out that there was no such thing as training for cats, but he suspected that doing so would be the fast track to earning himself a lesson in just how wrong he was—and he was certainly not thinking about that).

Feeling like his blush was never going to fade, Shinichi crawled over to Kaito. It wasn't long before he was straddling the magician's lap, slowly being lowered onto Kaito's erect member. A quiet moan of contentment escaped his lips as he was once again filled by his magician's length.

All embarrassment fled his thoughts to be replaced by raw desire.

Some corner of his mind wondered how he could already be so aroused again in such a short time after such an intense orgasm, but he couldn't deny the sensations pulsing through his body. All he wanted right now was his master's touch, his lips, his hands, his cock, his seed, his pleasure—

Shinichi shuddered as another moan escaped his lips, and he clenched convulsively around his lover's length, relishing in the feel of it inside him.

Kaito's hands paused in their stroking of Shinichi's bare thighs and hips as the magician made a half startled, half amused noise in the back of his throat. "Are you purring?"

Shinichi opened eyes he hadn't realized he'd closed then blinked when he realized that Kaito was right. He really was purring. He stopped as soon as he realized what he was doing, cheeks turning pink.

"I didn't know I could do that," he said.

"Neither did I," said Kaito.

Shinichi shot him a mildly irritated look. "Have I told you how not reassuring it is that you apparently know so little about this potion you made me drink?"

"That's not entirely fair," Kaito returned with a wholly unrepentant smile. "I did tell you that yours is a special case. One that has not been much studied. But rest assured," he added, leaning in to brush his lips over Shinichi's. "I intend to conduct very extensive research on this phenomenon in the near future."

"Stop teasing," Shinichi groaned, pressing his lips to Kaito's as he rocked his hips, clenching his inner muscles tight around his magician's hard cock.

Kaito let out a hiss that was half a groan and half a laugh. "I'd say you're the one doing the teasing, Kitten. You may want to be careful. Your master is beginning to lose his self restraint."

"Good," Shinichi murmured against the magician's lips. "It's your fault I'm in this state. So take responsibility and fix it."

Kaito made an amused noise in the back of his throat. "Demanding little kitten, aren't you?" In one quick move, he'd flipped them over, pinning Shinichi under him. Grinning at his kitten's startled gasp, he gave a shallow thrust. The movement had Shinichi crying out and bucking under him. "Is this what you want?"

The question was accompanied by yet another shallow thrust. Shinichi squirmed, breaths coming in rapid pants as his hands twisted into the sheets beneath him.

"Y—yes," Shinichi mewed, hips bucking again to meet Kaito's next thrust. "M—more—!"

Kaito was more than happy to oblige.

Oh yes, the magician thought as his little kitten writhed under him, pleasured cries spilling uncontrollably from his lips, they would definitely be making a lot more of this potion. In fact, Kaito planned to keep it stocked in the future.

It wasn't until a great deal later that Shinichi thought to ask Kaito how his negotiations regarding access to Yamashira's library had gone.

"You were right," Kaito said with a grimace. "I could just see him wanting to raise the access fee, but he didn't dare with all those people watching."

Shinichi's ears perked up. "So we have access then?"

Momentarily distracted by the adorable sight of those furry ears perking, it took Kaito a moment to answer. "Technically."

It was Shinichi's turn to frown. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Well," the magician drawled. "According to our dear host, he is just about to begin a major renovation and reorganizing of his library. It's been a long time in the planning and therefore cannot be delayed. But since he is oh so generous, he will allow us access in the brief period before the renovations are to begin."

"Which would be when exactly?"

"The day after tomorrow."

"…You mean he's only giving us access for one day?" Shinichi demanded, incredulous. "But his library's enormous!"

"Yep. And I believe that's the point," Kaito said dryly. "I'll bet he's counting on us being unable to find what we're looking for in the time allotted. So he'd be getting paid while we waste our time."

"Does he always make visitors search his inventory all on their own?"

"Nope. He employs three librarians—all of whom are conveniently on leave because of the aforementioned imminent renovations. Or so he says."

"…Okay," Shinichi said slowly, thinking. "Did he say when the renovations would be over?"

"He doesn't know yet. Says these things always run longer than planned, but he'd be happy to notify me when they're completed if I'd prefer to wait. Personally, I wouldn't hold my breath."
