A little of the Doctors POV on this one, and another update so soon is rare, really hoping to keep this level of mental creativity going.
The Doctor found them later that day in the kitchen in the TARDIS, an assortment of various ingredients spread around the counters. Donna was sat on a stool, trying to explain one of the various alien devices the he kept in there. She was slicing up some vegetables as she talked, and the Doctor couldn't believe how at ease and relaxed she seemed. Donna was a lot like him in ways, always hurtling about a little bit faster than the rest of the galaxy, it took something special to calm her and bring her back to Earth as it where.
It was obvious to him that Rhys Williams was an Addams through and through, there was something so contradictorily gentle about the whole family. People would think him absolutely insane for thinking so, for their outward appearances they portrayed to the world were full of chaos, mayhem and slightly darker pursuits than the average family. That wasn't to say the family weren't violent in ways, but there was a gentle undercurrent in all of them. Not many families would be able to easily tame the most dangerous of wild animals and beasts, but Morticia tamed the most venomous of man-eating plants, Wednesday tamed Kitty Cat when she was just a child and Ianto, well he had tamed Captain Jack Harkness.
Rhys it seemed was having a similar effect on Donna and the Doctor wondered how things would go there. He could tell that Donna was genuinely happy to have someone else to share their adventures with. He wondered if maybe they could convince Rhys to stick around for more than the week they would be away from Earth, it would be interesting to travel with an Addams again. Eudora had gotten into the best kinds of trouble when they had travelled together and she kept him fed with a variety of recipes she appropriated from their stops. Rhys was apparently as good a cook as she was and he was curious to see what he came up with for dinner that night.
The Doctor looked to Thing who had also been given the job of chopping vegetables and signed to him in Gallifreyan so that his companions wouldn't understand. 'Do you see it too?'
Thing dropped his knife on the counter and gave him a thumbs up before signing back to him, 'Bets?'
Prompting the Doctor to chuckle, Thing really had become an Addams in the time he had been with them.
Hearing him and noting his exchange with Thing, Donna paused her conversation to greet him and then began to grill him on whether or not he had found any information on Jack's mum.
"I've made a start, I need a bit more information though." The Doctor admitted, turning to Rhys he continued, "I don't suppose you have a phone with your cousins number with you?"
Rhys looked at him a bit bemused, potentially at the thought of trying to call the 21st century from the 51st century but he handed his phone over. A little bit of sonic later and he was ringing through to Ianto wandering back to the console room leaving Thing to chaperone Rhys and Donna.
