A Mycroft Holmes/Dark materials crossover which appeared from nowhere, yet absolutely insisted on being written down even though I was in the middle of writing something else. As I've never read Pullman's novels, I have no clue where this came from, but there we are. Nothing to do with higher reasoning at all.
