Anky is an apceros and Froggy's pet. He has sandy colored skin, black back, and amber eyes.
While in the Monster Hunter universe, the team comes across a fighting arena created by hunters. They infiltrate the arena by putting their own rescued beasts into the fights. They all only pretend to fight each other to give the others time to rescue the trapped beasts. Froggy rescues Anky and he's grateful.
He doesn't take kindly to being offended and is very protective of his frog friend. He is usually quite playful and even a little teasing. He shows a sense of great curiosity, imitating Froggy's actions and mannerisms when they initially encounter one another and can understand Froggy's words and commands as well as agree with some of what he says. It is shown that he has become aware of Froggy's past, as seen with a look of concern when Froggy brings up his father's name.
Usually, Anky attacks by headbutting and whipping foes with his spiked tail. He is infamous for his tactic of slowly stalking the enemy, eventually tightly surrounding them alongside his herbivore friends, preventing movement.

Anky gets his name from having a ankylosaurus appearance.
Anky was also named for having stubby ankles.
