Shardtail is an akura vashimu and Arachne's pet. She has black skin and blue crystal tail. Her eyes are blue.
While in the Monster Hunter universe, the team comes across a fighting arena created by hunters. They infiltrate the arena by putting their own rescued beasts into the fights. They all only pretend to fight each other to give the others time to rescue the trapped beasts. Arachne rescues Shardtail and she's grateful.
She is is a very brave and fearless beast and also a formidable warrior. She is not only fearless but also can scare others. In combat, she hisses and rattles her tail maniacally, which is shown to make large robots and even a few monsters back down, even when they outnumber her. She is very confident and treats difficult challenges as fun. When she gets angry, she may seem scary.
Shardtail has a huge geode on her tail she uses as a weapon.
