Finally, word gets to him of a slave ring in a remote part of the Kingdom. Arthur didn't want to believe it, but there was no denying the familiar profile of the man hunched down in a cage, waiting to be sold.

This is a fix-it fic to repair this most frustrating and least consistent of all Merlin episodes. Arthur thinks. Merlin hurts. Gwen warms up. Sticks with canon until it can't anymore (due to consistency!) and sends Camelot on a better trajectory. PLENTY of growth, hurt and comfort to go around. Not a reveal.
