The feton lab was located under a huge building. The building was once a run down apartment with many rooms however once day the Fenton bought it out and turned the whole place into a house for them and their kids. They have only had the building for a little over 6 years now. They have a 5 year old named jazz and a 2 year old son named Daniel.
Inside the Fenton home the Fenton family rests in the lab.
Jazz is sitting on the floor next to Daniel holding a book. This book is big and holds no pictures. The book clearly isn't for children. Daniel is sucking his thumb softly as his sister explains what the book says.
Behind them at the far wall stands their mother and father Maddie and Jack Fenton. Maddie holds a blow torch while Jack screws in peices.
Their inventions around then beep and pop filling the lab with constant noise.
Suddenly Jack shouts as he and Maddie step back "we did it! The Fenton portal is done!!" The man's voice booms as his wife leans against his side. The man's voice. Seems joy. Maddie laughs softly at her husband as she turns around. When Jack shouted it caught the attention of both children. Jazz is pouting slightly at her parents because her time with danny was interrupted. Danny OK the other hand just giggles and holds out his hands for his mother "ma!"
Maddie takes long steps towards danny and gently lifts him up. She holds him against her chest which allows him to cuddle into her. "Come along Jazz. Your father and I are about to turn the portal on" Maddie speaks softly and gently grabs her daughters hand and leads her to the portal.
Jazz huffy but no longer angry follows her mother. She does eventually stop being huffy as she gazes at the portal curiously. She glances at her mother and father who stand side by side. Her brother seems obvious as his eyes become droopy. "Why do you need a portal?" Jack. The overzealous man that he is immediately jumps at the chance to talk a out an invention especially if it's one of his kids.
Jack adores his kids. There is no denying that. Jack has and will drop everything for his kids. Proven by how many inventions he had to scrap just because they made danny cry. "Well jazzy! This portal will open up right in the middle of the ghost zone. Once it does that ghosts will be able to fly through. Once that happened we can study them!" Jazz stares at her father eith big eyes. She wears a soft frown as her brows furrow as she thinks hard about that. It was a lot to dump on a 5 year old.
When Jazz does speak she speaks slowly and gently places her hand on Jack's leg as if comforting him "daddy….ghosts aren't real" Maddie smiles amused. She bends down and unknowingly stared at her child as if she said a very silly thing "of course they are. And once we catch them we will be able to get rid of them all"
Danny makes a incoherent sound and pulls at Maddies hair to get her attention. Maddie ah aha and gently pulls her hair from his hand and places him next to Jazz. "You both stay right here me and her father are going to start the portal. We want you to witness thus wonderful discovery!" She stands up and walks over to her husband.
Jazz sighs and looks at danny who stands by her. Being children of scientists has its bright sides. Jazz is already learing 4 grade math. Her grades are through the roof and the school is already telling her parents options for skipping grades. And danny is quiet creative.
He can make rockets from normal plado or clay. He is already doing basic math as well. Suddenly Danny's attention is grabbed again as his parents plug something together. He looks around when nothing happens. Maybe it opened something?
Jack visibly deflates and drops the cords. He sighs and Maddie frowns but she soon smiles and places her gand on Jack's arm "its okay dear! We can try again later. They will always be mess ups" Jack just sighs. Maddie smiles softly "we can have fudge" before she can even finish the word fudge her husband sprung to life and is already rushing to the stairs "what are you waiting for!? The fudge is upstairs" Maddie sighs and shakes her head. She starts walking to the stairs but stops when she realizes she doesn't her tiny feet patter after her. She looks behind her to see danny and Jazz sitting and reading again. She frowns and thinks for a moment.
It's not usually safe for kids to be alone in the lab. They could get hurt but OK thebother hand what would hurt them? Everything is made to harm ghosts not humans..she shrugs and turns to the stairs and leaves her kids alone.
Jazz looks at the pages and frowns. The rest of the book is history information she stands up and looks at danny..she grabs his shoulders so she knows he is paying attention "ill be right back okay? Don't. Touch. Anything" she waits for him to nod before she rushes out of the lap.
Danny looks at the book and reads some of it slowly but history can only capture a child's attention so long. He woddles up and looks around. He gently brings his hand up and starts sucking on his thumb. Husbeyes catch sight of the long tunnel his mama and daddy made. He starts to make his way into the portal. He .ales it about half way through before he turns to his right and sees a botton. The collar is a bright red. To his little eyes it's practically glowing against the green and whites that make up his parents lab. He starts to jump and hop trying to press the pretty button when Suddenly he heard a loud shout just as his fingers pressed into the button.
"DANNY"
Danny jolts out of bad gasping for air. His hand pressed against his chest as he looks around. He is laying in his bed. He sighs and flops back and co ers his eyes with his arm. Danny doesnt remember much if the incident just small bits and pieces. Stuff like the lain, the shout, and the crying. Danny's alarm goes of reminding him he has school with tucker. Danny slowly pulls himself away from the bed and grabs new clothes. He decides to change in the bathroom. He walka out of his room and right into the lab.
After the accident his parents decided to love him into the lab. To keep a close eye on him and to stop his powers from hurting anyone. Standing by the work bench is his mother and father. He yaws as he walks passed. Maddie turns to him and crosses his arms pretending to be mad "Daniel fenton" Danny's half asleep brain immediately goes on the defensive "it wasn't me it was jazz-"
Maddie snorts and covers her nose, shaking her head. And opens her arms. "You forgot your good morning hug!" She says cheerfully as Jack turns to danny while standing behind his wife. After the accident, his parents have become clingy. Always wanting to be in his personal space. But to be fair, he understands why. Not everyone watches their kid die.
He sighs like the hug is the world's biggest inconvenience. He drags his feet as he moves into his arms..Maddie sighs and hugs him tightly. A soft frown across her lips. She holds danny as if he is gonna disappear. Jack drops his arms around his wife and son.
Soon, danny wiggles away. "Okay, okay, okay I need to get to school. Tuck is already upset. I left him hanging yesterday. " Maddie, let's go of her living son.
Danny rushes upstairs as Maddie glances at the portal. It remains locked as always. She places her hand and kn her face. "Oh jack.. I can't stop thinking about that day." Jack places a comforting hand on his wife's back. "Don't worry, Mads. Danny is fine. Hs, better than fine, in fact! His amazing! "Jack makes sure the shout the last part at loud. Maddie smiles and nods "yeah you are right.." she turns to look at all the videos of her son. They have playing. They study their son sure but no needles. No experiments. After all, he is still their son.
"Oh my God, jack!!"
"What is it ma-"
"Call someone! JUST DO SOMETHING. he isn't moving!"
"Maddie…get away from the ghost"
"No, no he isn't a ghost his- his our baby Jack help me!"
In front of the portal on her knees is Maddie Fenton clinging to the limp form of a glowing child. The child's hair is a snowy white. They are wearing black and white clothes. A black t shirt with white highlights. The Dino logo on his shirt turned into a white Dino. He is wearing black shorts with white pockets.
Maddy is rocking here and the child..now identified as Daniel. Or danny. She is gripping him tightly. Her right hand is holding the back of his neck keeping his face pressed against hers as her whole left arm keeps danny pressed against gee body. Tears stream down her face as broken sobs leave her. She knew it wasn't safe down here. Why didn't she just take them with her.
"Jack he isn't breathing- why isn't he breathing!" Jack can only stare and watch his wife. He was holding a ecto gun the moment he saw a ghost on his wife's arms but her words made him drop the gun. He slowly takes steps closer as he realizes the ghost does resemble his baby boy. He immediately rushes forward not fully believing that's danny. He Grabs his wife's shoulders trying to steady her. He is hoping (God please) a ghost is manipulating his wide (please not him) "Maddie! What happened?!"
Maddie body shakes as she looks uo at her husband "d-danny. He was standing in the portal. I don't know. It just activated and- and-" she breaks down again curling around the as sobs rack her body violently. Jack drops his hands. He can't get a good look at the ghosts face. He gently pulls the limp form from his wife who sobs and struggled to keep a hold on him. But the emotional trauma and stress made her weak. Jack is able to pull the form away from her easily. He rests the ghosts on his lap as he states down. Right at his son's face. A struggled sob breaks passed his mouth as he places his hand against the boys face. (My baby. Not my baby)
Jack gasps as the boys eyes open. He states at Jack for a moment with a blanket stare. Jack panics he knows ghosts are evil. This thing isn't his son it- Suddenly danny breaks down into loud sobs. Maddie looks up and stares as danny sobs and crying. Weilling the same word "hurts! It hurt!" He wiggles and struggles as Jack's hold tightens. Maddie immediately jumps in and grabs danny Jack moves to take the ghost back but he watches as his wife wears a relived expression. She is rocking her and danny again as she mumbles its okay. And it won't hurt again I promise.
She is kissing Danny's cheeks and face so happy to see him moving. Even if he his colder. And his heart isn't beating as it should. (He's not breathing) danny struggles to calm down his sobs loud and pain filled. Jack watches for a moment before breaking down. Light and much quieter sobs leave him. He places a hand in Danny's head mumbling it's play. Everything will be okay. Suddenly there is a bright light and danny is back to normal. His black fluffy hair and blue eyes are visible. Even his clothes turned back to their normal colors. Maddie and Jack gasp as danny takes a deep breath. He is struggling to keep calm. Maddie immediately jumps up and rushes to their medical area. There she grabs a breathing mask and slips it on Danny's face. Jack follows suit.
They both look at each other
"I'm home!" Danny's voice echos throughout the house as he walks into the the main area. He walks into the kitchen and catches sight of his dad shining down fudge. He let's his backpack fall from his shoulder as he watches his dad eith a disappointed frown. Jack looks over as grins "hello danno!" when the accident happened Jack couldn't- hw struggled a lot. For a while he didn't believe that guides was danny. Just some ecto that made the form of his son. But it was hard to argue with the results. He and .additionally are ashamed to admit they ran some tests to see if danny was the ghosts. And DNA doesn't lie. They ran a lot of tests however since they never actually did a DNA test ona. Ghost. They even tried to separate the ghost half from dannty but that woiod always hurt danny in some way. The first time it ripped his personality in two. Then it made hims human and ghost halfs extreme sick. Thebother both halfs were places into a coma. Atvthat point they figured both halfs are their son and they need th accept that.
That whole incident made they reevaluate their research. Danny could feel pain and emotion. Maybe all ghosts did.
A few years later danny is 4. But he still looks 2 they parents worried he would never grow again. Currently they are in the lab ruling tests on Danny's blood trying to see if their is any sign be will age. Suddenly they hear danny giggle both jerk their head that way and sees something truly horrific. Maddie reaches for the ectopic gun but stops when she realizes she could hurt her baby. She and Jack watch as a female ghost with fire hair made of blue flames sits on the floor in front of ghost danny ( or phantom as Jack named it) the new ghost is gently reading out the words danny struggles to say helping the bot. Maddie slowly relaxes when she realized the ghost isn't hurting her baby. The new ghost turns her head in one swift movement making Jack tense up more. She smiles at the parents and slowly disappears. Danny looks at his parents and laugh unaware if the fear going through them. Maddie jolts over and grabs her son and holds him close.
Danny shakes his head at his dad and looks around "where is mom?" Jack throws away the fudge container and wipes his mouth. He slaps Danny's back making his sons whole body flinch. Danny had eventually started to age. Slowly but it did. He looks like a middle schooler but is a freshman. Maddie has a theory that once he reaches adult hood (ghost or human unknown) it will completely stop aging. It worries the parents. Their son stuck for all eternity? It's a frightening thought. "Your mother is in the living room with the ghost couple!" Jakc bends down "between you and me I think she needs a new husband." Danny snorts
After the first ghost visit it became common to see ghosts around danny. Ether its the will-o wisps or actual ghosts. A lot actually speak to the Fenton parents. Sole ghosts ask for permission to see danny. Or they answer some of the Fenton questions. Eventually ghosts just rest in their home. There is one rule. Try taking over the world, or causing harm of any kind to anyone inside or outside of this home you will be hunted.
Danny walks into the loving room and sees kitty and Johnny. His mother is trying to comfort kitty who is crying. It seems his mom played therapist again. Danny decides to move on and head into the lab..he he catches sight of the box ghost stealing his parents boxes. "Hi boxxy" Danny mumbles which catches the attention of the box ghost. The box ghost drops the boxes and Flys to move along side danny "what is wrong puny mortal! Do you not fear meee" Danny sighs and shrugs. Box ghost always talks like that. It's just his think. Danny kinda finds it funny. "Just tired…" the box ghost hums as he thinks about that. He then flies off for a moment which gives danny time to slip into his room..when boxy ghost returns he is holding a box. He drops it on Danny's lap as he floats above danny watches him. Some times ghosts do that..they don't realize they are just staring. No sound. No movement..many find it creepy but danny finds it comforting. Makes him feel less alone With so many ghosts around. He sits up and open the box. It starts playing music. He smiles and looks up "thanks boxxy"
"Don't thank me mortal! Thank the ppwer of boxes!" Box ghosts dramatically floats away as danny puts the music box by his bed..he lays down and closes his eyes. His room was sound proofed years ago and the silence always bothered him.
Danny closes his eyes as he falls asleep
