"Look, Nami!"

Luffy rushed to the orange-haired with a little bug on his finger.

"What- why are you bringing me a bug, you idiot?!" Nami shouted and hastily stood up from her chair.

"Doesn't he look like Ball?" he asked excitedly.

Nami startled and had to think before she remembered.

And she had to smile at the thought.

And remembered what had happened a few years ago.

Captured!

Day 1:

"Nice job, Luffy! Now we're stuck here, really great!"

Her voice merely brimmed with irony and sarcasm. Nami paced up and down the dark, small and damp prison cell. Sitting at one of the four corners of the cell, the person she was talking to seemed to be busy with something. And, as it seemed, he was not listening to the upset woman at all.

The beginning of this story had started when Luffy had gone up and away to the city of Guampa Island. Of course, he had gone there to find a restaurant to fill his belly. And of course, no one (Really? No one?) had expected him to attract the attention of the townspeople there.

And of course, Enel forbid, no one had guessed that a small, chubby woman with short but unfortunately greasy brown hair, who had recognized him as an 'incredibly dangerous' pirate and was understandably afraid of him, would immediately alert the navy.

And as fate would have it, no one knew that Smoker was on the same island as the Straw Hat Gang.

Let's get to the actual point:

As soon as Smoker noticed that Luffy was on the same island as him, he immediately set off to hunt the straw hat. As he did so, Smoker recognized Nami, who had just bought a really nice burgundy evening gown for a lavish sum. And at the same moment she had wanted to make her way to the Going Merry, Smoker had arrested her.

Luffy, not wanting to abandon the now pissed-off Nami, had rashly and naively, perhaps a bit stupidly as usual, not having the slightest idea of how dangerous Smoker could be, approached the smoky man. After a brief struggle, Luffy had also been arrested. A laughable "trial", held right after the two 'incredibly dangerous' pirates were captured, sentenced them to a month in jail, and after that, another trial would be held to decide whether or not Luffy and Nami should be executed.

Thus just moments ago, the two were thrown into a cell. Strange noises, short male screams, squeaking of some doors, water drops. All these noises drove Nami crazy. The situation she was in now was crazy! Everything seemed crazy to her that day. Everything had happened so fast.

But one thing didn't surprise Nami in the least: Luffy didn't know how much they were in trouble and didn't care much either. But that, exactly THAT, also upset Nami so much. Her captain was- and this was really true- just plain stupid! At least that was her opinion.

Eyebrows drawn together, with an angry-looking grimace on her face, Nami waited for Luffy's comment. After a while, when she still didn't hear anything, she turned around and stomped over to him. Putting her hands on her hips, she stood in front of him and looked at him to see what he was doing.

And what she saw did not calm her down; on the contrary, she got angry, so incredibly angry! What kind of person was he?

"LUUUFFYYYY"

This scream, coming from the navigator, echoed in the dungeon, all over the corridors of the prison and all over Guampa Island. Birds fluttered away, some people who were near the prison looked around in surprise and even windows broke.

But the one who was spoken to had something much better to do. He continued to play, cross-legged, with his newly found beetle, which he had dubbed 'Ball' because it was so round, and didn't really listen to the navigator.

And that, for her part, made Nami even angrier than she already was. She tapped her finger on her captain's shoulder. He grumbled, "Wait a minute Nami, can't you see I'm busy?" and waved her off with one hand.

And now Nami lost her temper. Her patience snapped for good! Not only was he acting like a little kid, but now he was playing with- with- bugs! Nami unceremoniously grabbed Luffy by his collar and shook him, hoping to bring him to his senses, making angry noises as she did so.

"Na- Nami, wh- whaaat the h- heeeck?"

Sourly, Luffy clasped Nami's hands and took them away from him. Nami breathed in and out quickly. She admitted - for a while she had lost control over herself - but for a good reason!

"Listen to me, you kid," Nami started after she had regained some control and put one hand on her hip and drilled with the index finger of the other hand on Luffy's chest, "I want to get out of here, got it? And if you're here now playing with... Bugs, then we can never get out of here, at all! You better think about how we're going to find a way out of, you hear me?"

The word bug, Nami spat out while she spoke only tentatively and with a lot of hatred in her voice. Bugs and spiders - in fact all insects in the world, she hated!

The straw-hatted boy merely leaned against the cold wall in boredom in response, looking at Nami with disinterest.

"And that's why you're yelling here? I'm not going to think Nami, because there's no way out of here and you should know that better than I do!"

The navigator stared at him in disbelief.

But... Actually, he was right for once. There really was no way out of this dungeon. And Luffy's devil fruit powers wouldn't help much either, because the walls had been built of very solid and thick walls. But not only that.

Sighing loudly, she settled down next to him. Now the two had to wait for the rest of the Straw Hat Gang. But until they would come... a long time would pass.

'Oh great, now my beautiful dress is gone too...'

Nami felt like crying. Those crazy marine people had taken all of her things. Even the lockport! They had even taken her jacket. She was cold, but she didn't care much about that. Slowly, she closed her eyes and thought about what she had experienced today...

She really felt like crying.

All well and good that she was locked up here but there was still a problem:

She was locked up with... LUFFY! A, for her, still little child! Exasperated, she groaned. She raised her hands and started massaging her temples with her fingers. But it didn't help against the migraine she had just got.

It was no use anymore, it was time to wait and hope.

She opened her eyes again and briefly stroked Luffy with her gaze. He had devoted himself to his beetle again and was playing with it. Even though it was totally childish... and Nami was unnerved, and totally exhausted...

Suddenly a smile began to rise on her lips. She wouldn't be bored with Luffy, that was for sure.'And what if he gets hungry?' it now occurred to Nami. Maybe there was a hope that his strength would increase so much because of his hunger that he could smash the wall...

'Keep dreaming' a voice beeped in her brain. 'You know that these walls, were built especially for devil powers.' Nami remembered again: There were these walls, which had been built especially for devil forces, so that nobody could escape from the navy. Not even people who had eaten from a devil fruit.

Time passed very slowly, but it was certainly past midnight. Involuntarily Nami had to yawn and only now she noticed that she was shivering. Great, these men wouldn't give her jacket, that was for sure. And Luffy wasn't wearing a jacket anyway, unfortunately, or she would have stolen it from him long ago.

The orange-haired woman angled her legs and hugged them tightly with her arms. Now she was starting to shiver too, how wonderful! There wasn't even a blanket in this hole! The shower and the toilet were in a small adjoining room, just as cold and smelly and much smaller than the room they were in now. What a mess...

Their captain turned to Nami when he noticed her teeth chattering. Surprised, he realized that she must be cold.

Sighing, he let go of Ball, and walked over to Nami. Her tired eyes gazed up at his.

"You're cold, aren't you?"

A little hesitantly, the addressed looked at Luffy and then nodded. Her captain's gaze softened instantly. Luffy remembered the story on Drumm. When he had to carry Nami up the mountain, he had been cold too, but Nami's body against his back had offered him strength and warmth. Maybe it would be the same now, maybe he could warm her now.

He did not hesitate and came closer to her. Carefully he enclosed the woman's back with his hands, placed her on his lap and pressed her body against his. Her head he bedded against his left shoulder and then leaned with his back against the wall, together with Nami in his arms. To his amazement, she didn't mind. No reaction at all came from her. She probably knew what he intended. More amazement spread through the straw-hatted boy: Nami nestled against his chest as it seemed.

Sanji flashed into Luffy's mind. If he were here, he would murder him, he knew that.

And Nami? How she would love to be in her bed right now. In her nice, warm bed. But her thoughts became fuzzy. This warmth was another. Her never-ending trains of thought slowly fogged, she flowed off into the dream world, in the strong arms of Luffy. And so completely full with a sense of safety.

Day 2:

Nami had been right: Luffy almost leveled the whole prison to the ground - but only almost. His hunger had become overwhelming, food came only three times a day - for Luffy's circumstances five times less than usual. And Nami was afraid, because sometimes Luffy freaked out. What if he walked up to Nami and wanted to eat her?

'Holy shit, what kind of thoughts am I having?" she shook her head, pressing her eyelids together to get her thoughts straight. By now it must have been afternoon. After Luffy's seizure, the two now sat there: Luffy couldn't believe he wasn't getting any food, and to his sadness, Ball was gone too. And Nami - She was busy making contact with the cell guard. The iron door was very large, only through a very narrow gap from where Nami and Luffy always got food and a small hole on the door, Nami could catch glimpses of the outside world.

"Hey, you, can you bring me a towel please? Oh please..."

To her regret, it didn't work, the guard ignored her. Still, she had a few tricks up her sleeve. Her look changed abruptly. From a pleading facade, her features changed to a seductive one.

"Hey sweetie, aren't you going to bring me a towel? You know... You're going to miss out on something. Because I have this habit. I always leave the door open when I shower..."

A few times she winked at the guard, who just then turned red and quickly ran into a room.

"Really?" a childish voice said from behind her.

Annoyed, she turned around.

"You idiot, of course not! I just want that nutcase to open the door. Then you storm out and beat the crap out of him and we can finally get out of here, got it?" whispered Nami quietly to her captain.

A grin spread across Luffy's face.

"Got it!"

The guard came back out of the room he had stormed into earlier with a bar of soap and a towel. Hectically, he searched for the keys. When he finally found them, he brought it to the keyhole and was about to open the door, but abruptly stopped in his tracks. Red with anger, he raised his head and scowled at Nami.

"Are you kidding me, you little brat? Did you think I was that stupid? You're wrong!"

Pissed off, he pushed the towel and soap through the rectangular hole and pushed a slide in front of the hole, thus covering everything Nami could see.

She had to sigh loudly. Great. Now she had no contact with the outside world at all.

Disappointed, she turned to Luffy with the towel and soap in her hands.

Luffy was no less disappointed. Her scam had almost worked!

But now at least she had things to wash herself with.

"I'm going to take a shower." Nami said quietly and walked to the shower.

When she entered the room where the shower was located, a disgusting smell came to her nose. She frowned briefly, but closed the door behind her. The door creaked as if it were about to break from its hinges.

The young woman laid her towel and soap on the floor beside her and began to undress. She brushed off her white shirt and red skirt. Without further ado, she took off her underwear and red shoes. She put her clothes in a corner of the small room and hung the towel on the door handle. Not even a hook was in the room!

Carefully she entered the shower, holding the soap, and slowly turned on the tap.

Startled, she dodged the spray.

The water was freezing cold!

'Oh no, not that too! How am I supposed to take a shower like that? This is so unfair!'

Abruptly, Nami's eyes glazed over and she sniffled briefly. But her gaze changed. 'Don't be such a baby Nami, it'll be fine, don't worry. Luffy will get you out of here. Hopefully.'

Determined now, Nami turned the faucet all the way on and stood under the icy jets of water. It felt as if the water was trying to pierce Nami's back. Deeply the orange-haired woman breathed in and out. Again and again. After a few moments, her body felt numb. And she started to wash herself.

Meanwhile, Luffy searched some places on the wall. With his fingertips he scanned the individual stones, looking for a thin spot on the wall, maybe something would happen there.

Nami tiptoed out of the shower and hastily went to the door handle, took the towel and wrapped herself in it. Closing her eyes, she sighed.

'What a pain...'

Now, finally, she could get dressed. In a little better mood, she dried herself with the towel and turned to her clothes.

"OH NO!"

Luffy startled. Unsure, he took small steps to the wooden door. A sniffle and some sobs reached his ear. Was Nami crying? Why was she doing that? Quietly, he knocked on the door.

"Nami?" he called carefully and gently "Nami, what happened? Why did you scream?"

Suddenly the door opened and a towel-clad Nami rushed out of the shower, threw herself against her captain's chest and sobbed out.

The young man didn't know what was happening.

Why was Nami crying, what had happened? He clasped Nami's back and hugged her tightly.

"Shh, don't cry, it'll be okay, what happened?" he asked her, stroking her back up and down to calm her.

"It - I - Luffy, I want to get out of here! The water was so cold. I'm cold when I sleep! This is so unfair. It stinks so much here. And I put my clothes on the floor. How was I supposed to know that the water would leak? And make my clothes wet? Luffy, I really want to get out of here. As fast as possible!"

Panicked, she looked at Luffy. With one hand she held the towel together at her chest, with the other hand she clutched Luffy's shirt.

The latter lifted his head and looked briefly at the ceiling. How was he supposed to comfort her?

He suddenly took Nami's hand in his, strode with her to a corner of the dungeon and sat down on the floor, pulling the surprised Nami onto his lap as he had yesterday.

"Nami..." he began to tell "You have been through so much. You were so brave and courageous. Don't act like a little kid, you have experienced much worse things and you haven't cried. I promise, we'll get out of here somehow, don't worry. Would be a laugh if you just gave up now, wouldn't it, Nami?"

He smiled gently at her trying to cheer her up.

The woman in question drew in her breath quietly. He was so right: She had been through so much and NOW of all times she should break down? It would be a real laugh if she gave up now. A grin stole onto her lips.

"You're right Captain, I certainly won't surrender now!"

But something was still bothering Nami, and she couldn't look into her captain's eyes at what she was saying.

"But Luffy..." she looked down at her hands gloomily "Now I have nothing to wear. Or am I supposed to walk around here in my underwear? I mean, you may be acting like a child. But you're still a... a man." she went red as she said that "And I-" and stopped when she felt his fingers on her lips and looked into his eyes.

"Nami, I'll give you my shirt until your clothes dry, of course you can't walk in front of me with just your underwear. Otherwise it could have disastrous consequences."

Her eyes went wide as the boy grinned cheekily at her.

"Ba- Baka!" she was so emberassed "To think I'd ever hear you say something like that!"

Playfully sour, she rose, suppressing a chuckle that wanted to burst out, and tugged him to his feet by his shirt with her.

"Come on, take off your shirt or I'll freeze here."

As if on cue, he took it off and pressed it into Nami's hand.

The latter retreated into the shower with her head held high and closed the wooden door, which creaked again.

The latter retreated into the shower with her head held high and closed the wooden door, which creaked again.

When she fished her underwear between her wet clothes she noticed that her bra as well as her panties were 'only' a little bit wet...

'Luckily they are not as wet as my clothes!' Nami thought to herself.

Immediately she dropped the towel on the floor and pulled on her underwear. She clasped Luffy's shirt between her teeth. As she put it on she could smell Luffy's scent and- one scent also came to her nose: and that was the scent of her perfume.

A soft smile came over Nami's face. With Luffy as her cellmate, it didn't have to be as bad as she had imagined. Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, or anyone else, could never have cheered her up the way Luffy did. He always had the best words when it came to his friends.

When the two had eaten their dinner - Luffy had given up threatening the guard for more food - they got bored.

No one really knew what to do in a dungeon.

Nami sat leaning against the wall next to Luffy. She was still wearing his red shirt, it reached her thighs.

And Luffy - he was now sitting there bare-chested. The navigator was cold, shivering like the day before again.

'I'm going crazy! I'm really going to go crazy! It's so boring. Oh man and I'm freezing. I wonder if I could ask Luffy?'

"Luffy, say, can we- I mean - can you hold me again like yesterday?" sheepishly, yet somewhat expectantly, she looked at her captain. He smiled gently and invited her to sit on his lap. Happy, like a child, Nami crawled to him and settled down smoothly. She put both hands around the young man's muscular body and nestled her cheek firmly against his bare chest.

She felt that not only she was cold. His chest was almost shivering.

Luffy hugged Nami as well and carefully laid his head on top of hers and immediately, a comforting warmth came over him.

Nami closed her eyes, listening to Luffy's rhythmic heartbeats, to her it seemed more than soothing. His chest rose and fell. Her body rose and fell in response.

'Like floating on a boat,' it flashed through Nami's mind.

"Luffy." she murmured sleepily. In arms like that, in her opinion, there was nothing to do but sleep. "I thank you, Luffy. For all you've done for me. Luffy, I really like you."

The black-haired man, who was as sleepy as she was, almost didn't hear. Almost.

"You're welcome, Nami."

He smiled and went to dreamland.

Day 3:

Not one bit different from how she had fallen asleep, she also woke up. On a floating boat with soothing music. At least that's how it felt to her. But Nami had slept off her fatigue and slowly opened her eyelids. Briefly, black dots danced in front of her vision, but immediately disappeared again. She blinked a few times before realizing that they were still in a cell.

Now she didn't have to try to free herself from Luffy's embrace. What good would that have done her? She would be cold again and she had nothing better to do. So why not stay in such a beautiful and lively bed?

Sighing, she snuggled closer to his chest, her grip on his back tightening. What else could be done here?

'Nothing' it popped into her head 'It's hardly bearable. Luckily I'm not locked in here alone. Who knows what the guards would have done to me.'

Nami shivered at this thought: she had suffered enough with Arlong, she didn't want to think about those times anymore. She had resolved to start all over again, with her new friends, with her dream, with adventures. Maybe even with a new love.

Between so many adventures and problems she had not been able to think about love, but now she had time.

Love - had Nami ever really fallen in love in her life? The years with Arlong had been hard, she had had no time to fall in love, but now?

'Let's start from the beginning,' her thoughts found no end 'Who is there to fall in love with?'

Sanji. She liked him. She liked him a lot, but love? No, she strongly doubted that she was in love with him, really, she could hardly hold herself back from laughing. He was charming, a ladies lover and a gentleman as well. Every woman wanted a man like him, but Nami saw him as a very dear friend. She did not fall for his act. Maybe sometimes, but then only consciously and for pleasure.

And Zoro.

'Poor as a church mouse' a smile crept around the corners of her mouth.

He still hadn't paid his debt plus interest to her. Yes, they argued often, but actually, Zoro was a very important friend. But she really, really did not love him.

Usopp?

Nami didn't miss the way he had looked at Kaya when he said goodbye to her back then. She couldn't forget his look and hers as well. It had been so beautiful. Dreamy and happy but at the same time so incredibly sad. Nami was sure of it: 'This must be true love.'

Who was left? Chopper? Nami laughed briefly: Chopper was like a child to her. Like her little brother. Whenever Chopper was in danger, a protective instinct came over her. Maybe it was because of his size. But maybe it was because of his behavior, Nami thought: So naive and scared, unaware of what the world could be like.

And last but not least, there was - Luffy.

Monkey D. Luffy.

Her captain. And her friend. Her savior. Her protector of life. And the boy who had promised Genzo never to make Nami sad again.

Well, Genzo had probably thought that Nami hadn't heard his request - or rather threat. He had probably forgotten that Cocoyasi village was well-known for its gossip.

But back to Luffy: She was supposed to be able to be in love with him? She doubted that very much. Luffy was still a child. He was naive and sometimes stupid.

'What on earth means 'sometimes'?" she chuckled silently again.

But Luffy was Luffy and Luffy was so incredibly different.

At times he was naive and childish and then all of a sudden he became serious, mature, a grown man.

She really didn't know how to describe him. He was simply beyond description.

And his dream was no less indescribable: the One Piece.

But Nami was sure - she was sure to her death - he would find the One Piece. No matter what, he would find it. And Nami would accompany him on his way. Forever if necessary, because Luffy was very special to her. He was her comforter, her companion, and even if it was hard to understand, he was her captain. She could no longer imagine a life without Luffy. In this short time he had become for her as already said: Something very special.

Then her eyes started to burn. Tears filled them and one was already rolling down her delicate cheek. Only now did she realize what kind of happiness she had encountered. She was happier than she had ever been. And her happiness was...

Luffy. Her happiness was Sanji, Zoro, Chopper, Usopp and of course Robin.

Robin was like a big sister. She listened to Nami when she had problems, gave her advice, made her laugh. Yes, sometimes, even if it was very rare, Robin reminded her of Bellemere.

Slowly, her bed stirred.

Nami leaned back a little to watch Luffy wake up. Another smile came to her lips. Without opening his eyes, Luffy yawned heartily and stretched. Nami held onto his shoulder to keep from rolling backwards.

Surprised, Luffy opened his eyes as the warmth on his body moved away and two hands clung to his shoulder. Then a grin settled on his face, but abruptly the grin disappeared after he discovered the trail of tears on Nami's cheek.

"Have you been crying?" he asked her worriedly.

"Yes, I have." she replied warmly to his question "I cried because I'm so happy." she added quietly then.

"Why are you happy? How can you cry from happiness in a situation like this, Nami? Are you stupid?" he wondered in surprise.

"What?! Of course I am not stupid! And explaining that to you would take hours and you wouldn't understand anyway, so I'd better not."

She winked at him and stood up, stretching and immediately feeling better as she did.

She went into the adjoining room, leaving a pouting Luffy behind.

That day passed in a heartbeat for her. Luffy made her laugh, telling her funny stories about his childhood with Ace. She learned that he had another brother, Sabo, who had sadly died a long time ago. And he told her how he had defeated Alvida. Told her how he had gotten his hat from Shanks. Where he had met Shanks. He told her his whole story of his life.

And at the end of the day, the two fell asleep again in a tight embrace.

And for the first time, her doubts around Luffy disappeared: she might as well be in love with him. He was a real man, even if it wasn't often apparent. Maybe he was even the man she wanted to spend her life with... and not just because of a treasure.

Day 4:

"Man, I want some food, that dumbass guard won't let me out!"

"Wouldn't that be nice?"

The fourth day had dawned and Nami and her captain were still stuck in the cell on Guampa Island. Not a soul had come. No one with green hair, had come. No chain smoker, no lying baron, no human-shaped moose, and no woman in a cowboy hat. Nami had slowly but surely given up hope.

In despair, Luffy settled down next to his navigator. She rested her head on his broad shoulder and cupped his belly with her hands. She was so cold. Unsure, Luffy glanced at Nami for a moment. He was startled to see that she was red around her nose. Her eyes looked tired and it seemed she was shivering a little.

"Nami, are you all right?"

"Of course I'm fine!" she replied energetically to his question.

"But you're all red!" he raised his hand and felt her forehead " Plus you're all hot Nami! What if you get a cold just like you did on Drumm?" he asked her worriedly.

The girl righted herself a little and sat upright in front of the straw hat.

"That cold on Drumm was something like a virus I caught on Little Garden. There's certainly nothing like that here on Guampa Island and if it's a cold then I'm sure it'll go away quickly. I just need warmth, nothing else."

She crawled awkwardly like a cat to her new favorite place: on Luffy's lap.

Carefully, she enclosed his belly with her hands for the second time and nestled against his chest. The surprised boy said nothing, instead a smile stole onto his lips. He pulled her closer to him with a jerk and hugged her tightly.

Without knowing it, the two grew closer and closer. Since the first day they had spent in this cell, they were as close as they had ever been. So unconsciously close.

"Oh, Luffy... What would I do without you?" whispered the orange-haired girl, breathless.

"I don't know. You'd go insane here." he laughed, infecting her with his laughter.

However, Nami suddenly snapped her eyes open in fright and broke free from his embrace.

"Oh no, what if I infect you with the fever too, Luffy?"

"No, definitely not, besides, I don't care. I've never gotten sick in my life." he reassured her with a gentle smile.

"No, everyone gets sick sometime and if you're sick then I have no one to hold on to, also you can't protect me anymore and I might-" she fell silent as he placed his fingers on her lips like the day before yesterday.

"When are you going to get it through your skull that you can't disagree with me?"

Amazed, the navigator looked into the eyes of the black haired boy "But I-"

"Nami stop arguing with me all the time!" he said sourly, then softened "Nothing will happen to me, trust me."

She looked worriedly into his eyes. But Luffy was overwhelmed by a strange, pleasant feeling, when his pupils fell on the reddish lips of the young woman. His head wandered further and further down, closer to Nami's. He was no longer in control, it was like a spell that came over him. His heart beat unusually fast.

And Nami's eyes grew bigger and bigger, what was he up to?

Then she could feel his warm breath around the corners of her mouth. And it felt- amazing? Was it a feeling of happiness or one of uncertainty, of panic? She bent her head forward a little, to test the waters and eyed his lips curiously, somewhat out of breath.

No matter how wrong that probably was, and no matter if his lips, in all likelihood like hers, had dried up- it felt so right and good at that moment and in that second. She wanted, no she had to touch those lips with hers.

And he was no different.

And then, in one go, his lips met hers. It seemed as if their feelings flooded into one another. The strangest things happened in Nami's stomach, her lips trembled with excitement and her skin began to tingle. Luffy's hands, lips, his whole body trembled. He had to gasp. Because of all his tension, he closed his eyelids and slowly moved his lips, pressing them even tighter against Nami's.

Tentatively, she returned his kiss. It felt stunning to feel him. She could have imagined this moment with no one and certainly not Luffy.

But here they were. Kissing.

After what seemed like an eternity, the two broke away gasping for air and looked sheepishly into each other's eyes. Nami could see how Luffy's cheeks had turned a touch of red. And she had to smile. Maybe she had found her new love.

Overjoyed, she pressed her body tightly against his and hugged him for the third time that day.

'All good things come in threes' came to her mind.

"It may be that I love you." she breathed into his shirt. These words came consciously over her lips. Even if her brain had to cry out loud. Her heart was stronger, almost bursting at the seams. She thought about the first time she had seen him. When she had been on the prowl, as she often was, and her boat had rammed his.

And she also realized that perhaps she had loved him all the time she had spent on the Going Merry.

And the black-haired boy, who at that moment had taken a giant step towards maturity, was no different. For the first time in his life, he felt that he could no longer be himself without a certain person. He pulled her even closer to him, into a tight hug, and gave her his full warmth to make her well. Without Nami, he was screwed, he knew that. Without Nami, something huge was missing from his world. Without Nami, he was no longer whole. Without Nami, his journey was pointless. Because without Nami, there was no Luffy.

"It may be that I love you too."

Years later

"Yeah, he does look like Ball"

"I'll keep him!"

She sighed.

"I can't believe that our so called Nakama almost abandoned us because they thought we got lost." She shook her head. "Geez, we were so lucky that that idiot of a guard was so stupid that he fell for the same trick with the towel the next day."

Luffy laughed out and turned to go outside.

But then he stopped and looked over his shoulder to her, smiling.

"I really do love you, Nami."

She smiled back.

"I love you too, Luffy."
