Vixen's Journey(Kanto)
Chapter I
Naruto was standing on the top deck of a ship looking out over the ocean, his mind a swirl of emotions, anger, sadness, betrayal. All these emotions yet for some reason he was happy.
You see Naruto was finally free, free from hatred, free from the cold glare, free from spite filled comments, yes he was free. Naruto had been banished from Konoha for using the power of the Kyubi on a Konoha Shinobi despite the fact that said shinobi was trying to defect and join a criminal of well known repute. Naruto was on the team sent to retrieve the would-be traitor and succeeded but at a cost.
The team was all injured on the mission and Naruto himself was seriously injured as well but in the end he succeeded, Sasuke was brought back to Konoha. Naruto however was stripped of rank, status, chakra, everything, all because he stopped Sasuke from leaving the village.
Naruto sighed as he heard footsteps coming up behind him, the only person who still believed in him, his sensei and god-father Jiraiya.
"What's on your mind kid?" Jiraiya asked.
"Everything." Naruto replied.
"I bet. You know I came to Kanto once when I was younger before the war and spent a little time there. Made a good friend, Samuel Oak. He is a researcher now but he was a fierce combatant in his younger days." Jiraiya said, reminiscing about his trip to Kanto.
"What's this world like? Jiji always said it was nothing like the Elemental Nations." Naruto asked.
"It's a world filled with creatures called pokemon. Pokemon are like shinobi; they have mystical powers that let them use fierce techniques similar to how a ninja uses chakra to use jutsu." Jiraiya explained. "Samuel loved these creatures very much and took on the pokemon league before retiring into a researcher. Now he wants to discover everything he can about pokemon."
"He sounds like Jiji." Naruto said.
"He's a lot like sensei." Jiraiya agreed. "You know I have a pokemon of my own. He's under Samuel's care but it's still mine. I couldn't take him back to Konoha; he just wouldn't belong in the elemental nations."
"Knowing you it's probably a toad of some sort." Naruto joked.
"Well, you're not wrong. It's called Greninja, a frog-like pokemon that looks and acts like a ninja from Konoha. It's a water type and very good at taking down enemies." Jiraiya said. "When we get to Kanto we'll get you set up as a pokemon trainer with a pokemon of your own. Then it will be up to you to decide how you want to live in Kanto."
"Guess that's something I will need to decide when I get there won't it." Naruto said.
"Indeed you could become a trainer and take on the pokemon league or become a field researcher and study pokemon in depth like Samuel does he told me he needed a good field assistant." Jiraiya said. "But let me tell you the pokemon league aint a joke. They are the best trainers in the region and each has their own unique way of doing battle. And the Champion is the strongest trainer of them all."
"Sounds like either path would be a great adventure." Naruto said looking back over the waves.
"It was. You see, in my time in Kanto Samuel and I were rivals in the league challenge but he proved to be the better of us." Jiraiya said with a smile on his lips. "However, to take on the League you need Badges from the eight Gyms around Kanto."
"Gyms?" Naruto questioned.
"Yes Gyms. By taking on the gyms and winning a badge you show how good you are as a trainer, get all the badges and take on the league and you become something of an authority figure of the region." Jiraiya explained.
"So the Champion is like the Kage of the region." Naruto concluded.
"In a way." Jiraiya confirmed.
"What do you mean Ero-sennin?" Naruto asked.
"The champion is there to be the final challenge of the pokemon league, but they also solve problems in their region by keeping the peace and rooting out criminals." Jiraiya replied.
"Cool. Though I don't know what I'll do yet, I want to know more about pokemon but being the top trainer also sounds cool." Naruto said, looking out across the waves.
"LAND HO!" came a shout from the crow's nest of the ship.
Naruto perked up scanning the horizon for land then he saw it, a massive volcano on an Island.
"Dude, a volcano how epic." Naruto exclaimed.
"We're not stopping there but we're close to our destination." Jiraiya said.
"If that island isn't our destination then where is?" Naruto asked.
"Vermillion City. A port city in the heart of Kanto home to one of the Eight Gyms and the pokemon fan club." Jiraiya replied.

Professor Oak was casually walking through town on his way to the port of Vermillion City he was expecting an old friend and his young charge, an exiled shinobi. Oak had two pokemon behind him one a tall orange dragon called Dragonite, the second Greninja Jiraiya's blue ninja frog.
"They should be here any minute, Yamato just be patient a little longer." Oak said.
"Nin." the blue frog said, letting out an exhale of smoke from its pipe.
Just then a horn bellowed from the docks signaling the arrival of a ship.
"That should be them now." Oak said with a laugh.
Yamato was the name of Jiraiya's Greninja. He had a habit of smoking and was very impatient.
Oak and the two pokemon walked over to the dock as Jiraiya and Naruto walked down the ramp. Most of the passengers on the ship were civilians or sailors that had their own pokemon for protection. Jiraiya saw Oak right away and smiled.
"Samuel you got old." Jiraiya said with a laugh.
"You should talk Jiraiya. And this must be Naruto, your god-son." oak said with a warm smile.
"Yes this is Naruto." Jiraiya said, placing a hand on the young blonde's shoulder.
Just then a large shuriken made out of water hit Jiraiya knocking him back.
"Good to see you too Yamato." Jiraiya said laughing as he stood back up. "I trust you've been good for Samuel."
"Gree." Yamato said.
"Good. I see you still smoke." Jiraiya said.
"Seriously, what is it with you and toads that smoke?" Naruto asked.
Jiraiya laughed at Naruto's choice of words. "What can I say Naruto, it's just how the dice roll."
"Jiraiya, why don't you take Yamato back with you. I know you have healers in your village and it would do him some good to be with you." Oak said clearly showing concern for Yamato.
"Well I have missed Yamato and he would be no different than a nin kin used by the Inuzuka or the summons used by some of the more prestigious shinobi." Jiraiya said with a sigh. "Alright I'll take him home with me."
"Good it will do you both some good." Oak said. "Here's Yamato's pokeball."
"Yamato return." Jiraiya said as a red beam of light shot from the ball and hit Yamato causing the pokemon to be absorbed into the ball.
"Whoa he went into the ball." Naruto said with excitement.
"Yep, one of the many wonders of pokeballs." Jiraiya said with a laugh.
"Pokeballs are high tech balls that capture pokemon and store them inside for travel. You can carry six pokemon with you at any given time. You can change your team at any pokecenter via the PC which is connected to my lab where I look after pokemon." Oak explained.
"That's so cool." Naruto said.
Jiraiya smirked as Naruto's emotions were getting the better of him.
"Heh, you'd get along well with my grandson." Oak said amused by Naruto's actions.
"That reminds me. Naruto, come here for a second." Jiraiya said.
Naruto walked over to Jiraiya confused. "What's up ero-sennin?"
"Take off your jacket and lift up the back of your shirt." Jiraiya ordered.
Naruto took off his jacket and lifted up the back of his shirt. On his back just above the shoulder blade was a tattoo of a dove holding a fig branch.
Jiraiya channeled chakra to his right hand and touched the tattoo. In a flash of light Naruto's features changed before everyone's eyes. Naruto was shorter, more slender, hand longer red hair, cerulean blue eyes, and large d cup breasts.
"What happened to me?" Naruto asked.
"I released your true form." Jiraiya said. "You were born a girl but sensei feared what would happen to you if people knew you were a girl with their hatred of you so he sealed your gender making you appear to be a boy."
"What's my real name then?" Naruto asked.
"Namikaze Naruko." Jiraiya replied.
"Wait. Namikaze you mean I'm related to the Yondaime." Naruko exclaimed.
"Yes. You're his daughter." Jiraiya explained.
"I'm his… Daughter?" Naruko asked in sheer disbelief.
"Yes." Jiraiya replied.
Naruko was silent still processing this new information about her heritage. She knew she was related to Uzumaki Kushina because of her disguised name of Uzumaki Naruto. But she had never guessed her father would be the fucking Fourth Hokage.
Just then a sailor approached the trio. "Jiraiya the captain is about to cast off if you want to return to Konoha you best get aboard."
"Seems like this reunion is being cut short. Nice to see you again Samuel. Naruko take care of yourself." Jiraiya said.
"I will Ero-sennin." Naruko said.
"Safe travels Jiraiya." Oak said.
A/N: Hey all Azrael here so after longlast my Pokemon Naruto Crossover comes to life. I've wanted to do this for quite some time but never could get it started right. I hope this turns out good. So little side note, yes Naruto is a girl in this story and she will be paired with Gary/Blue this will not be a Yaoi fic as Naruto is a girl. As far as Naruto's start I haven't decided yet. Naruto is fourteen at the start of her pokemon journey as is Gary so no children will be fucking as this is a Mature story.
