Chapter: One

Merlyn Global

Malcolm Merlyn, CEO of Merlyn Global was in his secret room, in his office dressed in his Dark Archer suit, he was going out to confront the known Vigilante known as "The Hood" and get justice for his son who had died during the undertaking, which he knew was his own fault, but the Hood could've saved him. He was about to put on his hood and mask when he stopped and looked at a single framed photograph that was on the table. It was a picture of him and a blonde girl on top of a timeship where they first met, dancing during the London Blitz and wearing a union jack shirt. He had to smile at the memory.

Her name was Rose Tyler. They met through a friend they had in common, Jack knew that The Doctor had something for Rose, something he had never seen in the doctor during the time he had known the timelord. Love. But to Jack, Rose had become like a sister to him and he was gonna do everything he could to protect her.

When he saw the list of the dead of Canary Wharf, he felt like his heart broke in half, silently grieving for the girl he thought of as family, and in her memory he had built a better Torchwood and he was gonna run it with good intentions. But when he found out that she was alive but trapped in another universe, he felt relief because she was alive and well according to the doctor.

The last time Jack had seen the Doctor was during the whole thing that happened with The Master.. After that he went back to Torchwood and continued his life. After the downfall of Torchwood 3, his team scattered in the winds, he decided to go somewhere else. Somewhere new, so he packed up everything and moved to America under the name of Malcolm Merlyn.

So, after so many years of hard work, he is now CEO of Merlyn Global; one of the Major Tech companies in Starling City if not the world. Everything was going great for Jack, he wished to share it with those closest to him: The Doctor and Rose. But knew that was impossible, so he continued his life.

He had fallen in love with a woman and had fathered a child with her. Jack was never good with children, especially his first born, a daughter many, many years ago during the 1900's. But he tried with his son; Tommy Merlyn but it didn't work out, it only got worse after the death of his wife; Tommy's mother. They became estranged.

Now he is a trained killer, trained by The League of Assassins, running around with a bow and arrow at night taking up the name; The Dark Archer, killing people and destroying cities. He often wondered how Rose would feel if she came back and found him to be not the man she used to know? Would she hate him? Her opinion means so much to him that he doesn't know if he can take it If Rose was disappointed with how he turned out over the years.

He brought himself out of his thoughts as he put on his hood and mask, he gave one more glance at the photo before leaving and going out to find the Hood.

Somewhere in Star City

It was a quiet night for once, for Oliver Queen (aka) The Hood, as the media was calling him these days. He had gathered intel on a smuggling ring in a warehouse near the docs. So much for a quiet night, he thought as he jumped from rooftop-to-rooftop sticking to the shadows.

When he arrived, he noticed that it was quiet, almost too quiet and in Oliver's experience, that's not a good sign. He carefully, with skill, checked out the perimeter before he landed on the roof of the suspected warehouse and spotted a skylight that he could look through to the ground below.

He approached the skylight and peered down to see a group of men surrounding a table that no doubt had drugs that were smuggled in. He knew it was a cash transaction for the drugs! He saw enough and stood up and he jumped on the skylight, shattering it as he fell down and landed on the table, as he pulled out his bow and arrow and started shooting people as screams were being echoed. A few of them tried to fight him but The Hood had them on the ground before any of them could blink.

When it was over, Oliver looked at the guys he took down before walking over to the table to examine the drugs. But before he could get close, suddenly he was shot in the leg with an arrow as he let out a yell and fell to one knee, not expecting someone to follow him here. He knew something wasn't right. He had fallen into a trap. He looked up to see the mysterious Archer as Oliver grit his teeth in anger, because standing in front of him was none other than The Dark Archer (aka) Malcolm Merlyn.

"Oliver Queen, the time has finally come. To see who can be the best Archer." he teased with a smile. Oliver pulled out the arrow that was in his leg and stood up. "What do you want, Merlyn?" he asked with hatred.

"Justice!" he said as he readied his bow the same time as Oliver did.

Just then, the sound of crackling was heard throughout the air causing the two Archers to look around in confusion, just then in a burst of light, a pair of footsteps was heard landing on the floor. "Blimey, that was rougher than the last." said a blonde girl with an English accent.

Malcolm couldn't believe it, he was stunned because in front of him was the one and only Rose Tyler. He felt his eyes water up, She's back, after all these years, she's returned. He lowered his bow a little, and let a small smile creep on his face behind the mask, "Rosie?" He whispered, making the blonde girl turn her head as her eyes widened with a smile. Just then Oliver sprung into action and aimed his Bow towards Rose, clearly this woman means something to Merlyn and he can use that to his advantage.

This caught Malcomes attention as he saw Oliver aiming towards Rose, "NO!" he yelled as he released the Arrow. Malcolm quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her behind him just as the arrow hit the wall that was behind her causing her to yell in fear, he readied his own bow an arrow, " Come near her and I won't be so merciful." he threatened in a dark tone.

"Jack? What's going on?" Rose whispered into his ear from behind, hand on his arm. "Later. Hang on." he whispered back as he fired towards the floor causing a thick layer of smoke surrounding the building, then fired another one towards the ceiling. Jack wrapped an arm around her waist as they were suddenly being pulled up.

When the smoke disappeared, Oliver looked around to see that Merlyn and the blonde girl were gone. He let out a frustrating sigh and he grit his teeth, raising a hand to his chest where he activated the comm link. "Merlyn's gone. Plus an unknown woman with blonde hair and an English accent appeared. See if you can look into her, the name is Rose." he said as he looked to find a large silver gun on the floor, he remembered that the blonde girl had it on her. She must've dropped it. He went over and looked at it before picking it up and putting across his chest; maybe STAR Labs can find out what it is and how it works. With that in mind, he fired an arrow towards the ceiling as he made his way back to his lair.

Who was that girl? More importantly, who was she to Malcom Merlyn? There were the questions going around in her head.

Random rooftop somewhere in Sterling

Rose and Malcolm/Jack landed on a rooftop a couple miles away from the warehouse. He released the string and slowly let go of Rose before he stepped back and took off his hood and smiled. "Rosie." he called, still not believing who he was seeing, making the blonde look up and smile before she ran to him, wrapping their arms around each other tightly as he lifted her up and swung her around.

"Oh Jack." She said in a teary voice as she sniffed and felt her feet touch the ground and kissed him on the cheek before pulling away. "I Missed you." She said as Jack nodded, "Me too, Rosie. Me too." he said with so much love.

"What happened, Jack?" She asked as the man sighed, his smile disappearing. "Everything, Rosie. But, I'll tell you everything once we get back to my place." he said putting his mask back on and crouched down, "Hop on." he said in a teasing tone.

Rose giggled and got onto his back monkey style arms and legs wrapped around his neck and waist as he shot an arrow and swung, "WhooHoo." Rose yelled as she laughed.
