Hello. The pairing here is a Male Espeon x Female Delcatty.
By the way, humans can not understand Pokemon speech (well obviously) so human speech will be bolded.
I do not own Pokemon
"AND THE WINNER IS... CLAIRE AND HER POKEMON, FROM LITTLEROOT TOWN!"
Loud cheers could be heard from the television in trainer Claire's apartment.
It was a sunny day in Lilycove, the city in the Hoenn region where Claire and her Pokemon would be staying for a month to participate in the contests nearby.
"Ahh, that was a good contest. I can't thank you two enough," happily exclaimed the trainer. She admired the ribbons now on their chests. Lilac, her delcatty, was strolling around with her head high, very proud of the ribbon. Her espeon, Solis, on the other hand, was on the ground, and it seemed to try to paw it off of him.
"Aww, you don't like it, buddy? Fine, I'll keep it with me then," she said while leaning down to remove the espeon's ribbon.
Once it was off, the espeon stretched its legs and sat up. Claire sent out her scpetile, Leaf. It let out a happy roar.
"Okay guys, I'm gonna go train Leaf for a bit. Please, behave yourselves," Lilac and Solis seemed to have some rivalry. Both wanted to be the better and stronger Pokemon. They fought a lot, especially when Claire was gone, usually ending with a big mess in their home. She hugged both and walked out of the room, Leaf trailing after her.
"Pfft, are you scared of the ribbon or something? It won't bite, if that's what you're worried about," Lilac snickered.
"It was annoying me. You have a problem with that?"
"Oh please. I'm sure you took it off because you didn't want to be reminded of how I carried our duo."
"Excuse me? What part do you think was 'you carrying us'? That was all me. You were just my backup performer or whatever," Solis annoyedly replied.
"Oh, yeah, sure. You couldn't even dance properly. You're lucky I was in front of you, to stop people from seeing your so-called 'dance'."
"Whatever," Solis stormed off to the kitchen to escape the delcatty.
Lilac sighed happily and jumped onto Claire's bed, where she planned to relax with her thoughts.
She had known Solis since they were still and eevee and skitty respectively. She still remembered the day she joined Claire perfectly as if it were yesterday.
...
"Go, Solis! Help me catch this skitty!" a small girl shouted. A fierce-looking eevee had jumped out of a red and white ball, ready to battle.
It was raining that day. Lilac had been hiding under a bushy plant, which the forest she lived in was full of.
"Come on, let's go! Use charm to lower its attack!" The eevee followed orders, and Lilac had to admit... he looked pretty handsome back there. She decided to try to immobilize him by using one of her favorite moves.
Attract.
Lilac waited to see what would happen, but for some reason, it didn't seem to affect him. She was pretty impressed at the time, as no male she'd encountered had been able to avoid infatuation like this eevee just had. But mostly, she was scared to see what he'd do next.
"Use swift!"
Lilac did not have good special defense back then (or now, for that matter) and she lost health points fast. Then something another one of those red and white balls was taken out of the little girl's pocket.
"Go! Pokeball!" she shouted, and suddenly Lilac was pulled inside of the ball. She didn't know what to do.
"Oh yeah! We caught her! Yay, Solis!" she heard the girl shout, and she could make out the eevee chirping in happiness.
Happiness that she joined them, or happiness just because his trainer was, she did not know.
But she had a weird feeling inside of her; she didn't know how to describe it. Had the eevee's charm worked too well?...
Nah. It couldn't have.
Solis found himself a nice spot on the windowsill in the sun. He made himself comfortable and then began to wonder. What made him dislike Lilac anyway?
She was definitely cute. She was pretty, from the small tufts on her ears to her delicate paws.
Was it that she teased him a lot? He had to admit, only to himself, that he did kind of like that she was paying attention to what he did. Hopefully not just the things he did wrong, though.
He'd always call her annoying and move on, but was she? Yes, he didn't like being made fun of, but she definitely cared about him, it seemed...
They were walking in the woods, with Claire and the rest of the team. Then, at one point, a weedle came out of seemingly nowhere. It had startled him, and Lilac began to tease him. The teasing eventually turned into arguing. Their bickering had caused them to stop paying attention when the rest of the team moved on. They were lost, and so the 'blame game' had begun. But then they encountered a heracross. And the battle didn't turn out too well, at least in Solis' case. When they finally defeated it, Lilac immediately turned to the injured evolution Pokemon.
"Solis! Are you okay?!"
No, he wasn't. But he didn't want to worry her.
"I'm fine. Just a few scratches..." he tried to get up, but couldn't. Then, there was something fluffy right in front of him.
"Here, you can lean on my tail. Let's find Claire as fast as possible," she had said, in a caring voice.
If it wasn't for Lilac, he probably wouldn't have even made it out of the battle.
So if he didn't completely hate her...
Did that mean he liked her?
Solis very well remembered the day he first met her. She had used attract on him. He hadn't let it affect his battle, but...
He definitely felt something.
