Chapter two, yay!
Remember, there isn't a beta so if there are typos or anything I apologize in advanced. Eventually I'll go through everything. I'm also using my iPad because my computer is out of my reach atm.
Anywho, enjoy the chapter!
Sakura's life had become well... predictable. Mundane at most. It didn't help that she did the same things over and over again- Get ready for work at the hospital, come home from the hospital only to cook dinner, shower then go to bed. The only time this has changed is when her favourite podcaster updated every once in a while but either way, it didn't seem like much would change.
Unfortunately, she was wrong.
Sakura didn't know exactly how she got here. The last thing she remembered was getting off the bus to get to work, and then some shining bright light then this room she was currently in. There was nothing but white walls and a doorway that led to some other unknown place. The pinkette looked ahead and decided to walk through the doorway, which led to a hallway of sorts
It wouldn't hurt, would it?
After what seemed like an hour of walking, Sakura stopped once she realized she wasn't going anywhere. With a huff, she turned back around to go through the doorway only to end up in the same room, which now had a semi-comfortable looking chair in the middle. Deciding that it couldn't hurt, like the hallway, the pinkette decided to sit in it and close her eyes. She thought that she would wake up from this weird dream she was apparently having. Though when she opened her eyes, she did find someone standing in front of her. A tall man with a shock of white hair and mismatched eyes blinked at her before sighing heavily.
"They went along with it," he mumbled under his breath. Sakura looked at him curiously as he cleared his throat.
"This isn't something I normally do, but welcome to Hell." The man said Unenthusiastically.
The woman began to laugh uncontrollably. Something about the way he said it made it feel like it was a prank. A little bit of a cruel one but a prank nonetheless. Tears in her eyes, Sakura calmed down as the man in front of her stared at her with a blank expression on his face.
"I'm not kidding." The man said as serious as possible, hoping to get through to the pinkette.
"Really now? I'm in Hell? Of all places? But it's obvious I'm alive, so how can that be?"
The man rolled his eyes, moving to stand in front of her while she sat in the chair.
"Blah blah blah, my name is Kakashi, I'm a servant here and you're in Hell. I'm serious." The expression on his face didn't change, making Sakura's waiver a little. Smile to a confused frown, she stared at this Kakashi man.
"Prove it."
Kakashi raised a brow at that.
"How am I supposed to prove you're in Hell? There obviously aren't any pearly gates, there aren't any angels flying, and the lights are rather dim." Kakashi explained.
"You're a nurse, right? Check your pulse."
Sakura chuckled, finding the explanation funny. She held her arm out and placed her first two fingers on her wrist. When she couldn't find a pulse, she began to move her fingers in hopes to find one. Even more confused, she placed the same fingers on her neck. Nothing.
"I don't have a pulse-"
"-because you're dead," Kakashi sighed.
"Look, this normally isn't my job but my bosses have taken an interest in you. The sooner you believe you're in Hell, the easier my current task is. Now that you believe you're dead please follow me, Sakura-chan."
Sakura looked up at the man, shocked.
"How did you know my name?" She asked, a bit frantically.
"Because I know everything. Please follow me."
Kakashi turned around and walked towards the same hallway Saukra walked around earlier. He stopped half way and motioned for the woman to follow. Nervously, she followed closely, afraid to know what all was going to happen since when she tried to go through this hallway before literally nothing happened. A few minutes into the walk, the hallway began to open up to a bigger room with a door of some sorts. Sakura looked at it in awe at how huge it was.
"Before you ask, only certain people can come this way. Not that you need to know this bit of information because you're probably not going to be in that hallway for a while," Kakashi said as if he knew what was on the woman's mind.
Without looking back, Kakashi opened the door, which led to a much bigger room of sorts. Sakura followed him through the doorway and looked around. It was darker than the other places she's been today. Her eyes adjusted to the darkness slowly.
"Why does it have to be so dark?" The pinkette mumbled quietly.
"Because we like it that way." A new voice spoke up.
Kakashi bowed his head towards the new person, who was sitting in another seat. Sakura only looked ahead, deciding not to bow. This new person was taller than she was with short, black hair. If she could see better, she'd swear it was a little curly. The man had a smile on his face as he stared back at Sakura.
"You're finally here! We've been waiting for you, you know."
Sakura was taken aback. Why would someone, in Hell supposedly, be waiting for her? She almost asked why, but the man spoke up again.
"I promise, the rest of this place looks a lot better than what you've seen so far. I was put in charge of decorating after all."
Sakura continued to stare, not knowing what else to say to this somewhat friendly person.
"Quiet, eh? Oh well. I assume you'll open up soon. Kakashi, I'll take it from here."
Kakashi bowed his head again before walking off, going through yet another door to the side that Sakura didn't notice.
"You're confused, yeah? Not knowing why you're here… well we'll get to that. For now, I assume you're tired. I can always show you to your room if you'd like…?"
Sakura, still quiet, simply nodded her head. She was a little tired.
"Yeah, when you die, you'll be tired for a little bit but after that, you'll get used to it. Or so I've heard." He rubbed his chin in thought for a moment before chuckling.
"Sorry, sorry. I bet you're wondering my name, too. Well I'm Shisui." He smiled, bowing his head before her. He then held his hand out for her to grab on to but she refused.
"Of course. I don't blame you," he pulled his hand back to his side before motioning for her to follow.
"No." Sakura said, holding her ground.
"I'm not following anyone, I'm not going anywhere and I do not want to go to some room with a random stranger. What is going on?" She asked, getting louder the more she spoke.
Shisui blinked twice before chuckling.
"I thought Kakashi had explained that to you. You're dead and in hell. Instead of going to an eternal pit of flames or whatever you humans perceive hell as nowadays, we decided to take you in instead."
"Who's we?"
"My brothers… well technically they're my cousins but others call us the Demon Brothers for whatever reason and it stuck… are you coming or not?" Shisui answered her question.
"No, I'm not going anywhere until I know what's going on." Sakura said, determined to understand what was happening.
Shisui sighed at that. Normally humans accepted their fate, but this girl obviously was different.
"Look, I'm not at liberty to say exactly what order to get that answer, you'll have to talk to one of my cousins. They have the answers you're looking for, but they're currently busy with something so I was sent to introduce myself and take you to your room. That's all. We can either do this, the way it was meant to happen, or we can wait here for a few hours until one of my other cousins show up, it's up to you."
Sakura thought about it.
"I'd rather wait here, if you don't mind." She answered, making Shisui sigh again.
"Fine. We can do that."
Shisui walked off, going to a closet of sorts to grab a folding chair for Sakura to sit in.
"It really is going to take a while." He reminded her before sitting in his more comfortable seat.
"How long?" She asked quietly.
"Two, maybe three hours," Shisui answered quickly.
"...really?"
"Really…" he answered once again before going silent.
Sakura sighed. She wanted her answers, wanted to know what happened and how she ended up dead, but it was obvious this Shisui person wasn't going to tell her what was going on. Why was she in what two people called 'hell' and why her of all people? So instead of asking more questions, she stayed just as silent as Shisui was at the moment.
"I hate when it's quiet…" the man, er… demon spoke up.
"I can answer other questions, you know. I know you're curious about more than just your fate."
"No, that's all I want to know. Really." Sakura spoke up before going quiet again.
Shisui huffed, then went back to being quiet as well.
This was going to be a long couple of hours.
I've de died I'll update every other Saturday when I can.
Either way, kudos will help my leg heal faster, so ya know... go ahead. Give some kudos.
