"We're freezing our buns off out here!" Ashley complains as Sam and Peyton rejoin her and Matt at the door. Chris comes up to the door and uses a spray-on deodorant and a lighter as a flamethrower to melt the frozen lock.
And with that, Chris was able to open the door.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week-" Chris jokingly says as a wolverine barrels out of the house, with Chris letting out a shriek.
"Crap, that thing freaked me out." he comments out loud.
"What was it? Are you okay?" Ashley asks Chris. "It was like a bear or a tiger or something," he replies.
"Aw, it was just a cute little baby wolverine." Sam tells him in a baby voice.
"Only you would find a wolverine adorable, Sammy." Peyton teases, causing Sam to give Peyton a light shove.
"Baby?" Chris asks, exasperatedly.
"Don't worry, buddy, you're gonna be a big boy soon." Josh tells him as the people who are currently at the Washington's lodge enter the estate.
"Home sweet home." Josh comments.
"'Sweet' is not the word I'd use." Matt points out as he sets Emily's bags down.
"Oh, my gosh, it's SO GOOD to be inside. Even if it's still kinda freezing in here." Ashley comments.
"I'll get a fire going." Josh tells her, making his way towards the fireplace.
"This place barely looks any different." Matt notes.
"Nobody's been up here." Josh tells him.
"Even with my dad and his crew combing out the place, there hasn't really been that much action. Those are practically his words, not mine." Peyton points out.
Peyton makes her way upstairs to place her bags on the bed that is normally occupied by her. Taking a look at the bed, she is thinking about all of the times that she and Beth would be cooped up in here, just to avoid whatever drama Emily is stirring.
No. She promises herself that she would be strong for Beth.
She places her suitcase down on the bed while taking out some joints that have already been rolled.
Yes. At the college she attends, she knows a guy that hooks her up.
She heads back downstairs to see Emily and Jess about to tear each other's throats apart.
"Leave for one minute and a bloodbath commences." Peyton mutters to herself. Feeling a headache forming, she does the mature thing and leaves the entire situation.
She goes outside and lights up the joint. Peyton hears someone greet her and when she turns, it was Mike and Jess.
"Look, about earlier…" Mike was about to say, but Peyton just puts her hands up to silence him.
"Don't even mention it." she brushes off.
The couple were about to walk off before Peyton stopped them.
"Take some of these with you." she tells them, handing Mike some of the joints. Jess looks between the joints and Peyton. "How on Earth did you manage to get these?" she asks.
"Simple. I know a guy in New York." Peyton responds, nonchalantly, as she takes a drag out of the joint.
"Okay, Sommers, you've just gotten interesting." Jess tells her as she saunters off, with Mike at her feet.
Peyton goes back inside and sees Josh, Chris, and Ashley. "Okay, who's burying the body?" Peyton jokes.
Chris chuckles. "Emily and Matt are going back to the cable car station, and Sam is upstairs." he tells her.
"Alright, peanut gallery, you know what? I got an idea for you two." Josh starts off, pointing over at Chris and Ashley.
"What?" Ashley asks.
"Okay, well, I am pretty sure that somewhere in this crazy place, we used to have a spirit board." Josh explains.
"A what?" Ashley asks for clarification.
"Wow, you have a spirit board?" Chris marvels out.
"Yeah, yeah. They're fun, right?" Josh replies.
"Those things are a joke, man. They don't do shit." Chris comments.
"I would just like to say that you don't fuck around with a spirit board. Has anyone seen Paranormal Activity or Insidious?" Peyton voices out her concerns.
"When did Peyton Sommers become serious? Don't worry. Remember how we used to do it all the time…" Josh tries to reassure the pink-haired girl.
"Hey, Josh. No hot water's kinda major oversight, don't you think?" Sam tells Josh, coming down the stairs.
"Yeah, yeah. Just gotta fire up the boiler. It's in the basement." Josh tells her before turning to Chris and Ashley.
"You guys see if you can find the spirit board." Josh tells them.
"Chris, let's go find it! It'll be like a scavenger hunt!" Ashley encourages. Chris gets up and does so. "Ummm…okay…guess so."
"Rad. You're not gonna regret it." Josh tells him before turning to Peyton and Sam. "You girls up for a ride-along?" he asks them.
"That better not be some weird innuendo, Washington." Peyton tells him.
There is a pit in Peyton's stomach, screaming at her that playing around with a spirit board would be an insanely bad idea.
